I took my Twin Hammer trailing in Maine up a couple different mountains. I am very happy with the amount of torque and speed ilthe motor has. Everything worked perfectly in my opinion. I did strip the spur gear, but I upgraded to a Robinson Racing 87t hardened steel gear. Here's some of the pictures I took with my GoPro Hero 3+ Black camera:

I stopped at a hobby store and picked up an Axial light bar. Here's how it looks mounted:

I have a GCM tower plate kit on order so that I can have upright shocks in the front instead of the cantilever setup.

Vaterra Twin Hammers Build

The kit is built! The build was very straight forward and I was really impressed with the quality of the parts. Some option parts were included with the kit such as the front and rear sway bars and a front diff locker. I chose to install the rear sway bars but left out the front sway bars. I also left the front diff unlocked because I will be using a Castle Creations brushless system. I went ahead and painted the body panels with Tamiya camel yellow paint. I did not install the interior yet, but here's some pictures of my mostly complete kit.

I sold my Traxxas Slash and bought the new Twin Hammers Kit from RPP! It looks like a fun build and I'm hoping it will fit in my garage along with my Jeep and TF2...

RC4WD TF2: New 1.9 Axial Wheels and Gear Head RC Beadlock Rings

I found a set of Axial beadlocks with the Gear Head rings for cheap on RC Recyler's eBay store. I pulled the trigger, thinking I would use them on my Jeep. I ended up liking the Trail Ready beadlocks better on the Jeep, so I figured I would use these "new to me" wheels on the TF2. Check them out!

100mm King shocks have replaced the stock 90mm Axial shocks. The suspension has been adjusted so that the body is a lot lower than it was before! The hood has been hinged and the grille will be glued to the hood for easier access. I added an RC4WD Warn winch controller since I can't use my third channel. I will be adding a new stronger bumper for winch use.

Electronics: I chose to use a Castle Creations SV3 because I liked how it worked in my TF2. I'm using a Hitec metal gear servo for steering. An RC4WD rebuildable 35t motor is under the hood, literally. The head and tail lights are powered through an Axial simple led controller, while the Rigid light bars are powered directly from a 3s lipo. The Warn winch controller is powered by a 2s lipo.

Stretched and Comp Cut Jeep JK Build: Led Lights

My Jeep is ready for some night driving! Besides the head and tail lights, I installed a 6" and 2" Rigid Industries light bars made by Vanquish Products. The 2" bar mount a throught the grille and the 6" uses the Vanquish Poison Spyder mounts. Both light bars are powered by a 1000mah 3s lipo. Here's some pictures:

Stretched and Comp Cut Jeep Jk Build

Wheels and tires are mounted! I used 1.9 RC4WD Compass tires on 2.2 Axial Trail Ready Beadlocks. I measured the tires and they scale out to be around 45" tires! I also modified an Axial Dingo front bumper to fit the Jeep. A licensed Warn winch by RC4WD is mounted on the front bumper. I added some locknuts to the suspension links for a wheelbase of about 13". Track width is about 10.5". I'm going to order a Castle Creations SV3 ESC and probably a Rigid Industries licensed Vanquish light bar for the Jeep and it will be almost done!

Finally got the Jeep painted! Well all except for the hood at the moment. I also got two Axial Trail Ready Beadlocks mounted to some RC4WD Compass tires. I modded the wheels so that they are wider by combining both of the included hubs. Track width is about 10.5". I really like the way the wheels and tires look! Here's some pictures:

Its been a while since I last updated the build. Nothing much has changed, but I did spray a coat of Plasti- Dip on the hood to see what needs sanding. I'm choosing to paint the Jeep with Plasti- Dip because of the matte black look. I have also decided to use RC4WD Compass tires and I ordered a set of Axial Trail Ready Beadlocks. I'll probably go with the Trail Ready's but I want to see how they look since they are 2.2 wheels inside 1.9 tires. I'm going to widen the stance of the vehicle so it will look similar to this:

Traxxas Slash All Fixed Up

Finally! I fixed my Slash! In an earlier post, I mentioned that I had an accident with my Traxxas Slash 4x4 and my cousins mini E- Revo. It was my fault, my chassis tub was cracked in half and the brand new driveshaft I had replaced a day before was bent. The mini E- Revo wasn't as damaged, but aluminum axle housings fixed the problem. A week ago, I placed a Tower Hobbies order and was able to fix my Slash. Electronics and axles were swapped onto the new tub. I also tossed the high speed pinion into the motor while the transmission was apart. To top it all off, I painted a new Proline Ford Raptor body for the Slash since all my other bodies were broken. Take a look at the finished product as well as how the Slash looked before...

GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition & Pelican 1300 Case

I added another camera to my collection! I really enjoy using my GoPro Hero 3 White camera so I thought I would upgrade to the GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition camera. The new GoPro Hero 3+ Black housing is considerably smaller than the Hero 3 housing. Both the Hero 3 and Hero 3+ cameras are the same size so housings can be interchanged. I am excited to use the Hero 3+ camera so I will be posting some video soon. For more information on the GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition camera visit the GoPro website. I also purchased a Pelican 1300 case to protect my GoPros and accessories. The case comes with pick and pluck foam so that you can make anything fit perfectly in the case. Pelican makes their cases waterproof and shockproof so that everything inside the case will be safe if you drop it in the water. The case also has a pressure eqalization valve so that the air pressure inside the case is the same as outside the case. For more info visit the Pelican website. I hope you all had a great Christmas! I added a GoPro Hero 3 White edition camera to my camera collection! I'm really excited to use it because me and my younger brother won't accidentally nail the family camera anymore with our Slashes! I will be using the GoPro for most of my filming now. Stretched and Comp Cut Jeep JK 2dr. Build- Tire Carrier and Hood Cowl

I'm working on my Jeep again. I was working on my Slash, and found the tire carrier from an Axial Dingo cage. This looked like the perfect part for the tire carrier on my Jeep. With six rod ends and some spacers, I was able to build just that. Here's some pictures of what I built:

Before Christmas, I had started working on the hood cowl. I layered some styrene sheets so that I could sand the edges down. Here's my progress so far:

I also glued on one of the lower fender flares (that ugly crack will get filled):

Looking at many Jeep forums, I noticed that Truck Lite LED headlights are very popular upgrades. I thought that I would try to modify the headlights on my Jeep to look similar to Truck Lites. Here's how they look in real life!

I was also able to install my rock skins. They came out great and will protect the back of the Jeep from rocks and Traxxas Slashes.
