Sneak Peeks From Our Home

Lots has been happening at the SC Casa, and we've been finishing up every room (there were a LOT of finishing up to do ;)).

This is from our bedroom. The red artwork, was made by my four year old daughter this fall. I absolutely LOVE it!! (you may have seen it in our living room previously) The hindu statue is my hubby's hat stand. Works like a charm.

Also from the bedroom. I have a passion for green dresses, and this is one from my vintage collection. The shot shows the wallcolor much better than the first, it's called Cherry Blossom (Kirsebærblomst), and is made especially for Fargerike.

I have a thing for colorful jewelry, and this is a combination of my own, and my daughter's necklaces hairbows and tiaras (they prefer colorful plastic)

The dining room. This cabinet used to store everything I loved, but didn't have any place for. Needless to say, it looked like a mess. It took the talented Christine Hærra 2 minutes to fix it ;) (THANK YOU!!) I've come to the realization that I'm not I stylist, I'm a hoarder with a passion for color (which works most of the time, but sometimes is a little (or a lot) messy)

I tried my best to find something Scandinavian about it, but it turned out to be mission impossible. There is a Scandinavian link though, and that is the fabric Carter's mood board is covered in - I have the exact same fabric on my ironing board!

And these cake stands? Also totally should have been Scandinavian, but are actually from Dutch Jansen + Co! Totally sounds Scandinavian though, maybe they're immigrants?

This fabulous tray is designed by Scottish Bluebellgray for Ari Trays. We all know the vikings went to Scottland, maybe the designers have a little bit of Scandi in them?

UPDATE: OMG, ÅriTrays IS a Scandinavian brand! Swedish to be presise! Yahoo! :D

It's All About the Moths!

Today, the third wallpaper from Fargerike's trend collection was launched, and the name, is Moth (tata!)

The design team were inspired by colorful moths from across the world. Check out their Pinterest mood board here.

I'm absolutely in love with the design, I think it's so fresh and energetic. (would have loved it for my home office)

Scandinavian Design Classic: Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn

Josef Frank was not originally from Scandinavia, but his most famous work, is most definitely Scandinavian (born in 1885, lived in Sweden from 1933). For many people across the world, Svenskt Tenn IS Josef Frank. And vice versa.

In Scandinvian Maximalism - a piece of Svenskt Tenn fabric, is almost a staple:

In my opinion, Frank is more current than he's ever been, and Svenskt Tenn is setting the rules for modern eclecticism and the Scandinavian Maximalistic movement.

For a color enthusiast, times are definitely good. I know I would be a happy camper with a knife set lik the one above.

This sunbrella, Le Pixel, does not go with our outdoor textiles at all, but it's über hot! It'll remain eye candy for me, but SOMEONE seriously need to grab it - fast!! :)

This is a new spin on the classical chinoiserie blue/white urns, and it's absolutely fantastic! Love the fresh colors. From here. PS - it's hand painted. PPS - It's $125! (not bad at all!!)

Work inspiration - planning base fall/winter 2013

I just got a Tom Dixon, and I LOVE HIM!! Head over heels!

Wearing colors today :)

Striped buildings are seriously underrated. After seing this at the "Folkemuseet", I want more. LOTS more. People (architects) need to get back to intricate detailing again. I feel that we're lost in square angles and smooth surfaces exterior wise these days. Don't like it one bit. It can look grand, but certainly NOT HOT ;)

A big part of my job, is planning the content of base, Fargerike's inspiration magazine. There are no ads, just color inspo, and it's published twice per year, both in print and online.

The cover was all about green - Color of the Year for the Norwegian market

The contributor's favorite palettes (wallpaper, textile and paint)

We visited the magnificent Gloppen Hotel in western Norway is a true gem

We presented four lifestyle trends for 2012

Interesting color combinations

And paint techniques. You can do much with a splash of color

Kitchen Fabric - and new plans!

The fabric for our kitchen window just arrived today, and it's fun, fresh and GREEN!

This fabric is from a new collection by British Sanderson, and I have to admit that it's totally reminding me of Josef Frank (an old "Swedish" hero).

We're going to have roman blinds made (like below), and I think they'll really complement the rest of the decor.

We'll also be expanding the kitchen this spring to build a banquette (seating) much like the image below, but with a U-shape. We'll be filling it with loads of colorful fabrics, and a fun geometric patterned cover. (haven't decided which one yet)

The Office Moodboard

I'm working on the SS12 issue of our inspiration magazine, base, and this is my current mood board. (which I've been working on forever. Our new coordinator came in like a breath of fresh air (she started this Monday), and cleaned up my office AND fixed the mood board. Nedless to say, she's brilliant! And I'm SUPER happy!! ;))

I've been lusting after a Kitchen Aid since like forever, and yesterday, Plummie arrived!

Can't wait to put her to good use, and the first project is most likely going to be some OTT cupcakes with some serious amounts of frosting (just the way I like it ;))

Color of the Year 2012 for the Norwegian Market, is...

Green!

Six nuances to be precise.

Last week we launched Color of the Year for the Norwegian market in Fargerike.

The event was divided in three parts, were we first introduced these six nuances:

Stram Militær FR1112

Army green is hot like never before..

Kelly FR1150

It's young, it's fresh and it's perfect for color blocking and punches of color

Smaragdgrønn FR1151

Emerald green - glamorous, elegant and fabulous

Pæresorbet FR1118

Imagine the green in the bottle of the old glass coca cola bottles. This is that color. Perfect, dreamy and neutral.

Jadeite FR1149

Perfect for both glamorous and rustic interiors, a light green with elements of blue. To DIE for paired with gold.

Krystall FR2030

A French green, a true neutral, almost like beige. Except is's green. Very easy to work with.

We paired up with the fabulous Kristin Hellberg from the renowned French trend agency Nelly Rodi to present the main trends for 2012 - green was present in all of them.

LOVED her shoes - D'Squard and not for whimps ;)

In the installations we did a Norwegian interpretation of the global trends:

key words: raw, natural, pure

Trend 2: Essentualists

keywords: Scandinavian, simple, quality

Trend 3: Worldists

keywords: world citizen, energetic, eclectic, social

Trend 4: The Glamazones
