<p>TRENTINO, ITALY – Five outstanding products have been recognized at the Scandinavian Outdoor Award Spring/Summer 2027, following extensive field testing in the mountains of Trentino, Italy. Among the five award winners, Fjällräven’s Keb Lätt 55 and OrganoTex Odor Remover emerged as the standout products, earning the Overall Winner and Sustainability Award respectively. A jury of highly respected outdoor journalists selected the winners, recognizing products that excel in performance, innovation, functionality, and responsible product development.</p>

<p>This season’s competition was exceptionally strong. All nominated products demonstrated impressive quality, thoughtful design, and excellent field performance, making the final decisions particularly challenging. Nevertheless, five products distinguished themselves from the rest.</p>
<p>The winning products were tested in real outdoor conditions across Trentino’s varied alpine terrain, where changing weather, demanding trails, and long days in the mountains provided an ideal proving ground. To evaluate the products as thoroughly as possible, the jury spent several days hiking, using and comparing the nominated gear in the field. The jury also spent a night camping in the award-winning Nordisk Sirius 4 EXP, gaining first-hand experience of its comfort, weather protection and functionality. The result is a collection of winners that showcase the best of today’s outdoor industry.</p>

<p>Jury’s motivation: No other trekking pack out there combines low weight, great load capacity, carrying comfort and durability as good as the Keb Lätt from the Swedish brand Fjällräven. »The carry system manages loads up to 18 Kilos with ease and allows one to move freely«, one jury member raved while testing. The stays made from birchwood are more sustainable than the ones commonly used out of aluminum, the pack body out of fabric in recycled polyamide with UHMWPE ripstop will guarantee a long lifetime. Keb Lätt delivers all the functional features you need out there, weights 1130 grams and can be stripped down to a weight of 800 grams.</p>

<p>Jury’s motivation: “Finally, I can wear my favorite shoes again without having to warn everyone before taking them off,” one jury member said after using the ShoeCare Odor Remover from OrganoTex the evening before. Manufactured in Sweden using biobased and biodegradable ingredients, it guarantees that the odor remover meets strict sustainability requirements. It is easy to apply and has a pleasant peppermint scent.</p>

Testers praised the material’s soft hand feel and the wide temperature range in which it performs well: it remains comfortable in warmer conditions without becoming overly sweaty yet provides more warmth than one would expect from such a lightweight merino garment. <p>At the Scandinavian Outdoor Group’s (SOG) Fall Networking Days, Juha Latvala, CEO of Pomar, was appointed as the new Chair of the Board. With extensive experience in the outdoor industry – previously as CEO of Sasta and now leading Pomar – Juha steps into the role with a clear vision, shared with Secretary General David Nordblad: to return to the group’s core purpose and focus on how SOG can best support its members in strengthening their sales and exports.</p>

Moving forward, we want to re-focus on the group’s founding principles – supporting our members’ core needs in sales, export, and growth – while continuing to address other challenges facing them and our industry, says Juha Latvala, new Chair of the Board, SOG.</p>

<h4><strong>BACK TO THE ROOTS</strong></h4>
<p>With this new strategic direction, SOG is going “back to the roots” – returning to the founding principles of the group: supporting members to grow in new markets and strengthen their business opportunities. At the same time, the organization will continue its important work in providing knowledge and inspiration in areas such as sustainability, innovation, and competence development.</p>
<p>– We know our members face major changes, both commercially and in terms of sustainability. Our role is to be a practical resource and a strong network – offering relevant tools, activities, and collaborations that truly make a difference, says David Nordblad, Secretary General, Scandinavian Outdoor Group.</p>
<p>SOG supports its members through webinars, lectures, focus groups, joint projects, and – perhaps most importantly – the network itself. It is within this community that Nordic outdoor brands meet to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and collectively drive the industry forward.</p>
<h4><strong>NEW BOARD</strong></h4>
<p>During the meeting, Erik Møller, Nordisk, was also elected as a new board member. The Board of Scandinavian Outdoor Group now consists of:</p>
