The last 10 months have been exciting, busy, exhausting and humbling! The Foundation has accomplished so much already and we haven’t even hit the 1 year mark yet. We’ve become a 501c3 nonprofit, we’ve awarded our first set of grants, we’ve held our first annual Spelling Bee, we’ve raised over $10,000 in our first fundraising campaign, and we’ve built a website. Many of these accomplishments could not have been done without the help of many people and businesses, so we are sending out a big thank you to you, our supporters and to the many businesses that have helped us along the way with in kind donations–Flyte New Media for their support and expertise on the website, Brown Fox Printing for ALL our printing needs, the Leader for helping us with our ads, and Maine Magazine for their partnership and the many other countless businesses who have sponsored Bee teams, donated gift cards, raffle prizes, decorations, etc. We appreciate your support!!!

We are looking forward to our 1st Annual Harvest Celebration featuring The Don Campbell Band on Saturday, October 13th from 6-10pm at Bayley’s Camping Resort Pavillion. Tickets are $30/person in advance and $35/person at the door. There will also be a silent auction at the event with lots of great prizes. It promises to be a fun night out, so tell your friends, mark your calendar and buy your tickets before they sell out!! To order tickets click on our events page. Scarborough Education Foundation’s 1st Annual Spelling Bee

On May 10^th, more than 25 teams participated in SEF’s 1^st Annual Spelling Bee at the High School auditorium. There were teams of teachers and/or staff from each of the schools, a fire department team, a school board team, a team from Piper Shores, a team of little league coaches and many more. A big congratulation to the Fairway Mortgage Spellcheck Team. They outlasted all the rest to become the winner! Meredith Manning, from Q97.9’s morning show, hosted the fun event and presented the winning team with the giant trophy. Thank you to all our sponsors and participants for a wonderful event!
