Valentine Nail Product List

Heres a few still shots of my nails. Excuse the crusty dryness around my cuticles, that is the result of cleaning up my manicure with acetone.

Lets get into the products that I used in my video:

I started with PINK FRIDAY and NAIL ENVY by by OPI. Pink Friday is a really pretty bubble gum pink polish. Nail Envy has to be, hands down, my YOU BETTER GET IT OR YOUR NAILS SUCK product lol. Okay that was a little dramatical but thats how I roll. I totally own the strength of my nails to this nail aid.

For the Polka Dots I used Konad's White special polish just because its an art paint and dries really fast. Next up was the Sally Hansen Crackle in the obvious, White. My all time, never let me down, top coat: Seche Vite!

Tools: These can get pricey if you don't shop around. Starting at the top; my "C" brush from e.l.f. this brush has been with me for a minute. I bought it at a random Mexican Market that just happened to sell their line, its been with me ever since. The dotting tool I got at a swap meet in Azusa but you can use an old ball point pen (dried up of course). Lastly, an angled art brush that I got from Sallys Beauty Supply store. You can use a cheap eyeliner brush if you can't find something like it.

Hair Care : Wet to Dry

After watching my videos, most of my viewers ask for a product list. At the time of upload the list of products could get pretty long. So I decided to list items and include a few pictures here on my blog for a quick reference. So here it goes...

When I was get butt booty naked (no one pays me enough to see the real thang lol jk) I was washing my hair with the:

FAT HAIR "O" Calories Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner by SAMMY.

I like the way it smells and it foams up really well in the shower.

The most important result I am looking for in hair care products is that it does what it advertises. FAT HAIR, and I don't really get fat hair with this. Just clean, fresh smelling hair, so I guess I will finish the bottles and move on.

After I towel dry my hair I like to treat it with a few products before I let it air dry, or before I use any kind of heated tools for protection and volume. Pictured below and used in my video:

FAT HAIR "O" Calories Thickening Spray by SAMMY - Which I think works and smells great

Heat Tamer (not shown in video but used) by TRESemme - Its never let me down and is cheap as dirt

Silk Infusion by CHI - This product has been used by me for many years! I love it!

Hot Tools! I know I always want to know what my friends use when I see their big sexy hair, I use :

Blow dryer by KERATIN COMPELX - Okay, so you don't need the blow dryer that I have cause its not the cheapest, just make sure it promotes healthy hair (less damage with ions).

Large hot rollers by CONAIR - These have been working well for me lately, but I think I want to try something that will hold curls longer...like ceramic rollers. Ill keep ya'll posted.

These brushes are not the coolest or the cutest but they get the job done and I will hurt someone if they took them from my room haha :

Flat paddle brush by BRUSH LAB - I got this baby at ULTA

Round barrel brush by CONAIR - I got this brush so long ago! I would have to say I got it at WalMart

Lord have mercy! You know I about passed out when I sprayed the heck out my hair with this stuff! :

SPRAY & PLAY by Big Sexy Hair - Its Pink for their Breast Cancer promotion. I love it cause it doesn't weigh my hair down and keeps a good flexible hold.

Getting my WICKED fix

When the cupcake craze hit, I was on the hunt for a great tasting and LOOKING (presentation is everything) cupcake bakery in my area. I heard there was one in Azusa/Glendora but i never saw it. Unfortunately it is in a terrible location, but when I was starting my journey back home I saw the small print on the backside of the bakery and quickly hopped into the turning lane!

When I walked into The Cake Mamas' Bakery/Shop, I didn't know what to expect. One of the girls who greeted me was sweet and very loud haha. I decided to take 2 trays of mini cupcakes to test a few flavors, one for me and one for my roomie. I didn't know the ones that I chose were winning designs/flavors for the popular show CUPCAKE WARS. That made me more excited and not surprised that they were $10 per tray. Me and my roommate Crystal went to see the Broadway Play WICKED so it was even a little reminiscent :)

Below is a picture of what i took home. For $10 I think I got my money's worth because it look like an expensive treat.

No one wanted to share the experience with me :( So here are my thoughts starting with...

"The Elixir"

This was one was probably my favorite visually. The clock face was edible of course, but I don't think you would want to eat it. Confession: I bit it.

The buttercream frosting was so different and looked almost like a custard. It was thick and so full of flavor. The color and texture were amazing...yes I am talking about a cupcake.

Too bad I can't say the same about the taste of this cool green cake. It was dry and didn't have much flavor.

"The Bad Which"

This cake by far is the best I have ever tasted. It was so moist and rich and creamy...ooooohhh lord!

I wish they duplicated the look in the show as in person cause I didn't really understand this one with it just plopped on top. The edible glitter and little heart were attractive.

Mouth is watering so much! I only had a bite or two of each of these little guys but this one...my heart hurt when I forced myself to trash the other half. *Being good* I did taste the salt they mentioned in the description and it was just the right amount. SO YUM.

"The Flying Monkey"

We thought this was a crown! It didn't come with a tail either :/

Again - The frosting was amazing but the cake was so dry and it didn't taste good at all. Caca.

"The Good Witch"

The strawberry filling was soooooooooo good I felt the rolls growing on my body. The topping was amazing. The silver pearl was like little jawbreaker, I had to try it lol.

A good pairing would be the ever so popular SoCal desert wine - Stella Rosa. Stella is a very sweet lightly carbonate wine that is sold for about $12-14 at BevMo. (I get it straight from the winery, its cheaper)

Jude has a good amount of years to go before he is legally able to drink so he had some juice (Albertsons $4)

I think I am in love with the chocolate, and I will definitely give another flavor or two ;) before I make my final thoughts about this place. I hope I didn't tempt you too much.

Lets play pretend! - Pretend City Museum of Irvine

Rainy Days = Indoor Play

I always search new places to take Jude that will be fun for the both of us and not bad on my pocket. My google search lead me to Pretend City Museum in Irvine, Ca. Tickets are $11 for everyone 1 and older. Its pretty much a huge place where kids get to pretend they are grown ups. There are tons of things to do! It was raining today so you might see raindrops here and there on our clothing. It was a spur of the moment type of trip so my younger sister, Marina, joined us.

First stop was the Art Studio. Children can color with markers, crayons, and paint.

Jude is not allowed to use pens or markers at home, so that was the first thing he grabbed for. Suggestion: Only Washable crayons for coloring time at home, easiest thing to remove from walls, mirrors, and windows.

My sister said that she remembered going to something like this when she was younger but in down town Los Angeles. It was cute to see fake money being exchanged between all the kids at "The Market"

Tons of costumes through out The Pretend City, all types of careers.

Fishing was by far the most fun for Jude. Im glad they had rain slickers and boots for the kids to keep them....kind of dry hahah.

My mother works at a dental office, so this one made me think of her.

Jude is the biggest Ham that ever lived. He might just be a dancer when he grows up lol.

He also gained a green thumb...

Hopefully not practicing calling Daddy from the slammer haha.

He was a librarian for a few minuets too!

It was so fun! I hope the next time that I take him its a family trip so that he can play with his cousins. If you live in the area I totally recommend visiting this place. Check out their business hours, an hour before closing it is 50% OFF admission.

Rainy Day - Making Pizza for $5

Rainy Day Activity #1 :

Make Lunch a fun way to kill time.

When I was at WalMart the other day, I ran into these Make -n- Bake Pizzas for $5. What kid doesnt like pizza?? I found it in the section where they keep pizza dough, cookie dough, and things of that nature. Rainy days are the longest for our little ones if you dont have things to keep them active...tv gets old QUICK!

This box comes with everything you need to make 4 small personal size cheese pizzas. They do have a pepperoni kit too I believe, but you can get creative and add different cheeses and veggies.

Lay all of your ingredients out on the table and I was going over shapes colors and numbers of the items we were working with to make it a little educational too.

Get your dough...

...add and spread your sauce...

...sprinkle your cheese...

Then throw it in the oven for baby and me!

Baking and cooling time took about 15 minutes. Gave us enough time to clean up his room before lunch, and he was ready for his nap after.

Products of the Night : Sugar and Glitter

Shower in luxury!

When I have a moment to myself, I like to bust out the expensive...to me...products That I use only occasionally. I love to pamper myself when I can, and tonight was one of those nights. I have been raving about the LUSH Snow Fairy shower gel for body and hair...yes hair! It smells like Candyland should. FRESH's Brown Sugar Body Polish is one of those products that you tell all your girl friends about haha. I love the smell texture...and the way my skin feels after I use it.

Now if you like the sweet candy scents, this is a must try. I cried about it over twitter, and harassed all of my blogger friends when I realized I left it behind at the hotel I was staying at. My first shower with it was so amazing that I jumped online and rushed a replacement bottle to me asap! If you look at the pink soap...you can see that there is a fine glitter/shimmer in it! It does not leave your skin or hair sparkly, so no worries. I think it was just a packaging thing. Depending on the size of bottle it can be $ $10-26 USD

I mentioned this scrub in a favorites video a few months ago. When I purchased it, there were no prices listed anywhere that I could see...so I had no clue how much it was. I figured it could not be too bad because it was just body scrub, right? WRONG! Its $65 USD and I almost died! I was too proud to say "uh yea...no, put that back" lol so I paid for it and went on my broke ass way haha. I really do love it and as you can see in the picture its almost gone. So if you are a baller, handle it. If you want an more affordable alternative check out these scrubs.

My next favorite Holiday is Christmas. I am so excited I am already planning my gifts for family and friends, and my giveaways for all of my loyal and new subscribers. Back to my blog post...I was at Target today and ran into Glade's holiday scented candles, I am burning "Peppermint Crush".

Before bed I try to get in a few pages of reading. Its my way of winding down my mind. I have finished a few books this way, slowly. When I dont have Jude is when I get most of my reading in.

Thanks to many of my followers suggestions I am currently readying "A stolen life" and on deck is "Lullabies for little criminals".

Finally after a good soak and scrub, I keep my pedicure going strong thru the night with these warm socky slippers. I got two pairs for under $5 USD at walmart.

What are your favorite ways to wind down before bed? Any products that you use sparingly because they are over priced? You are not a lone sisters!

My Halloweeny Days

If you know me you know that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays next to xmas, my sons birthday and maybe Easter. I felt like Ive celebrated for a week now, and its over. BOOOO! lol

okay, here it goes...

You know you live in Azusa when...

There is a street shut down where the Verteranos showed off their cars and held a Trunk or Treat. The Azusa Raider cheerleaders perform too haha. I love it!!

My sister said I came to the hood dressed like JLo ahahha. I was like uhhhh no. Its hot and it was collecting dust! Taking fashion risks...I had fun with it. Too floppy for walking around for sure. (Hat from Target)

Baby Monsters - MyGym Party

Party in my Tummy!

I took Jude to a Halloween costume party at our local MyGym, and they asked us to bring goodies. I decided to bring some cookies. I didnt know what the turn out was gonna be and boy did I under estimate it! You will see in a second.

I didnt know how good these cookies really are! They only take 10 minutes to make! Seconds in the oven, the kitchen...then the house filled with the yummy sent of these bad boys.

DING! They are ready!! Im not going to lie, I had one.

I wanted to get festive with it so I added some green sprinkles for a little KA-POW lol.

Ice Parade - New MAC Holiday Collection

MAC's Winter Wonderland

For us MAC lovers at heart...this one you will drool over. Its been a while since Ive purchased from them, and its because nothing was special enough. They stepped it up and the packaging is killer! I love the wearable lipsticks and well...I should just shut up and get to it.

I went back to MAC to pick up my preorder this morning. I brought my new fancy camera with me and took a few shots.

Yeeeaaaa! I couldnt wait to bust this baby out!

Packaging was super silvery. Cool!

This is the top of the compacts - reminds me of a snow globe. They are really stepping it up.

Supposedly this face kit (Winter Cool) face was a Nordstrom exclusive but I think I just saw it on the MAC website. That made me feel less cool for a second.

This next picture is the darkest of two Beauty Powders. The artist helping me said it was a bronzer...uh no. It looks like a dark highlight to me. I still think its beautiful!

If you love Fairest Nude by L'Oreal you will love this Sultry Iced Delight kit. Warm pinky nudes are up my alley! I love them all together...

Two more beautiful lip colors. I love the formula with these too. They are slick and moisturizing.

The lip gloss that came with the exclusive set. Its very pretty just not for meee.

I hope Sigma does this to their handles next because I know they will sell like hot cakes!! These are travel size and also came with the nude lipstick.

TESTING ONE TWO THREE!

I got a new camera today! If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter you might already have heard about the news. I upgraded my point and shoot to a Canon Rebel T3i DSLR :) I have a few girlfriends on Youtube who are using this model to film videos and take amazing pictures for their blogs. I just wanted to share a few unedited shots of a LUSH bath with my son. I know baths are personal but I was sure to keep privates privates, and who doesn't think babies in the tubs are cute??

This bomb was designed with our little ones in mind. I know I have a previous post almost like this but I guess the quality of the shots are better so give me a break!

The Sweet Life - Wonderland Bakery

My huh huh Ryan has been trying to take me to a shop in Newport Beach he knew I would love. Our first atempt...they were closed! This time he must have checked or remembered but I was sooooo excited!

I am as girly as they come and I was dying with excitement when I saw how many cupcake items they had for sale! Anything and everything you can think of cute was in this little shop. I wished, for just a second, that Jude was a girl because I know if I was a little girl I would go nuts!!

Look at the details on the walls! These are the doors that lead to all of the magic : The baking and decorating! Its like candyland came to life.

I didnt get just one hahah, which Ryan thought I would be good...I got one for me, Jude, Ryan's mom and sister. Let me tell you...the pumpkin spice is a MUST! The picture is not doing the size of these babies justice!

They make cupcakes, cookies, cakes...oh my!

A lot of you were wondering where I got my cake made for Jude's 2nd birthday...This place I would reccomend in a heartbeat! The owner, Miss Allyson, said they need at least 1 week in advance and the price depends on the design you are requesting. CLICK HERE for more information on the shop.

After a late lunch at CHIPOTLE (our new favorite place) Ryan agreed to take me to MACYs to purchase the tote Ive been drooling over. I know its just a tote to some, but its a luxuray tote in my eyes and I deserve it damn it! Haha! Michael Kors Signature Logo Tote in Vanilla / White

We were in a rush because we were invited for dinner! Yes we just ate, but we were starving and didnt know that dinner was going to be ready early...shhhhhhh dont tell our chef aka Ryan's sister that hahah. It was so good. We were double stuffed.

Of course I wanted a taste of my cupcake after dinner. I could only handle less than half and saved the rest for later...later.

After we had a drink with his sister, we called it a night. Im a grandma and stuck on the go to sleep early-wake up early schedule. I suggested we go out for breakfast, so we headed to Dennys.

Before hitting a booth, Ryan stopped at a Starbucks next door and got me my coffee....aaaaawwwwwwwwwww!

I asked for the hashbrowns to be crispy and they were burnt...they showed me! Lol.

I always have a good weekend, I cant complain. This weekend was just....sweet. Hehe.

Things I loved this week

Whenever I think of Fall I get excited!

I am waiting for the day when I step outside and say "Its going to be a cold one!" Here are a few things that I loved this week:

I should have numbered these but I forgot and now its too late, sorry. The first item would have to be from Starbucks. I love the seasonal drink Pumpkin Spice Late, Skinny tall no foam no cream please :). My go-to gloss would have to be ALL AMERICAN GIRL by HARD CANDY. Its a beautiful nude mint plumping lip gloss that looks great over any light lipstick. Today I took Jude to see his first 3D film which was THE LION KING. He didnt buy into my "magic glasses" pitch so we ditched the frames and watched a blurry movie for an hour lol. It was just as awesome as I remembered, my advice...by the DVD. I am wearing an old favorite of mine "Dating a Royal" by OPI which is a stunning blue shade. Tomorrow or sometime soon I will be switching to charming "The Pain, No Spain" by OPI, perfect shades for fall without falling into the obvious brown and orange. A bag that I MUST get this weekend is the Michael Kors White tote. This is my step before Louis purchase. I know $200 might not be a lot of dough for a hand bag to most but its hard for me to spend that on myself knowing Ive got a little monkey to care for...someone asked "does he need anything?" I said "Hes got it all" They advised me to get....so I will. Ive taken up reading before bed again and I am on to a new book that took me about 20-25 pages to really get hooked - This called ROOM by Emma Donoghue. Its about a mother who raises her son in a room and he knows of no other living people but his mother. Its so sad to know that there are people out there like this. I want my son to experience everything that wont hurt him, physically or emotionally. Speaking of my bunny...I recently purchased a few Yo Gabba Gabba items off of Walmart.com including the Green Monster Pillow. He loves all of the characters and anything and everything to do with the show. OMG I have the worst eating habits lately and its due to stress. I feel like Ive been gaining weight and candy is not helping my situation! I love jelly beans and I have been craving...no I am not pregnant...popcorn flavored jelly bellys! To bring this cramped post to a close...RAINBOW sandals have been my number one shoe - well thing that protects my foot lol- this week and I need to knock it off. I have sooo many shoes in the closet that I need to give attention, but they are sooo comfortable!

Smooth Dogs - Me, My sink and I.

Sooo, my feet...and my hands....have been dryer than dry and I feel like if I stub my foot somewhere it will crumble straight to hell. I had to do something about it and I figured Id share it with you guys. I hate talking about feet so I feel like we are getting personal here...and I hope you dont think I have crusty ass feet. Oh great, you think Ive got jungle feet!! *embarrassed* Anyways before I ramble even in a blog:

In order according my routine: Soak your feet and then 4. A few wash clothes to of course dry, but to wash off the mask. 3. Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover -This stuff is serious. I read about it on a few blogs that I follow and its so cheap I had to try it for myself. I was looking for it all day and of course when I calm down I practically step on it! Its a cuticle remover, but it doubles as a callus remover too. Leave it on for 1 mins after soaking and then scrub your heart out. 2. Pumice stone - Any of these bad boys will do. I got mine at Walmart for $2. Its job is to scrub all the nasty off haha. 1. Manicure / Pedicure Mask by OPI - I love this stuff! It smells sooooo good. Its really thick and made my hands and feet feel baby soft.

I suggest you guys give it a go...at least the Sally Hansen product and the pumice stone which will cost you under $10 and will get the job done. Are there any products that you have tried that works well? Let us know in the comments!!

Go Big Black! - Azusa Raiders

No Raider Hater Here

Some history: I do not like the Raiders football team. I do not even like football so dont think Im a raider hater either lol. When I was younger I used to be a cheerleader with my sisters for the Azusa Raiders. We cheered for a couple of years and we had a lot of fun doing it. We even came in first place in one of our competitions! Woot woot! (Im the one to the left).

Any how my two sisters and sister in law are now coaches for the city team and their first game was today. It was a ways from my house but I wanted to come out and show my support. I got there a little late due to traffic and under estimating the traffic...but I made it. My god daughter is also on the team so I was excited to see her do her thang.

There she is, one of the loves of my life, Denise. My daughter from another mother lol...my twin actually.

The staff: I dont know the first two but the middle is my Twin Christina, my sister in law Lizzie, and my younger sister Marina.

Me and my bunny. He was in the middle of saying Cheese! Haha. It was soooo flippin hot out. All of the parents and other smart people were all behind me under Easy-Ups.

After the game, Jude was hanging out with all the girls and sharing a drink with his cousin. They kept calling him cute. *Eyebrow raised* they better back up! lol.

After game lunch, where else but Mc Donalds would kids want to go to? We grew up going to the same one, so it was kinda nice taking our kids here...the next generation.

The two princesses of the family, Emily and Denise. Since moving away from home, like 35-40 mins away haha, I miss my family so much! I used to live down the street and around the corner from all of them, but Jude and I love where we live now. We need to cherish all of the time we spend with people who matter most...family.

The Aquarium of the Pacific

Random thoughts brought us to the aquarium in Long Beach, Ca. I've been thinking of places that would be fun and educational for my little Judy and this was one place that was highly recommended. I think maybe Jude was a little too small to really learn anything but colors and textures of the sea animals.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is located near the Queen Mary, so that's next on our list. I was excited to see more than just a huge fish tank up in here to be honest. Admission is $25 per adult (thank you honey) and kiddos under 3 are freeee! If you have a 3 year old, they can pretend to be 2 for the day lol and say you $12. They are open from 9am-6pm everyday, we got there a little late, so we rushed through it.

They had black lights in the tanks and it made them all glow, it was beautiful.

Touching starfish and sea cucumbers among many little water creatures. I was showing Jude that they were nice because he was really apprehensive. I would have been all up in that stinky water if they let me haha.

Jude quickly got brave when it was time to touch and see the jellyfish lol. I had to hold him back from falling in! They feel surprisingly thick and slimy.

I felt like we got to touch everything, here is Jude next to sharks. YIKES!

Sting Rays!! I was harassing them because they kept going up to other hands. Ryan was laughing at me because I was almost elbow deep in the water trying to touch one. Jude had more luck. I was so excited!

Im not sure what Native American holiday they were celebrating but there were tons of people dressed up, even little ones. Look how precious this little Indian Princess is. *hugs*

Life's like a box of...

personally I would prefer Mexican candy over a box of chocolates, but anyway...we had lunch across the street at Bubba Gumps. This restaurant's theme is all on the movie Forest Gump. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. Yummy!! Ryan with a big ol' smile, he was starving.

We started with the Shimper's Net Catch. Its a lot of work but so worth it. Its a must order when I go.

Jude Isaac reading over a couple of new books I got him at the aquarium gift shop along with a flashlight.

I loved the display of the kids meals. Jude had the Macaroni and Cheese plate. Came with french fries, jello (that he shared haha, and orange slices)

Cruise-ing

Whale watching, aye?

I think it was a random thought, spur of the moment type of deal...my roommate came into my room and said "would you want to go on a day cruise?" I wasnt too sure what I was getting myself into but I was down.

Turns out we went on a day cruise aboard the Eclipse (via Pacific Nature Tours) out of San Diego to the Coronado Islands. It was the the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. We bought our tickets months ago off of a local savings/deals website and saved about $70 each. Of course it would not be a day in the life of Sonia and Crystal if something didnt go as planned. We were running super late, traffic, got lost, and thanks to the big boss man Mark...they waited for us! We ran down the pier about 10 mins late and felt all of the looks that, thankfully to God, could NOT kill. I dont know if it was because we were the youngest and most excited to be on the tour, but we sure did get treated like royalty. There were no inviting seats in site, so we were offered to sit on the top deck next to the Captain's cabin. In my opinion, the best seats in the house.

We were quickly off to sea...here are some handsome little fellows.

We didnt have time to eat, so thank goodness there was breakfast provided on this trip.

Surprisingly the coffee was pretty good, and I took that bagel downtown. NOM NOM NOM!

What better place to paint your nails than on a boat?? Hahaha. It was rocking so much I was pretty impressed she did them perfectly.

OMG soooo much to see! Dolphins were showing off left and right. We sailed right in the middle of their pods. I have so much footage Im not sure if I have enough energy for the editing!

The crew was so excited, maybe even more than we were. Apparently this was the best tour they ever held because there were dozens of whales before our eyes. I was too busy filming I forgot to take still shots. I was screaming the whole time because we had a few close calls, they kept swimming under and along side the boat. It was so amazing the people on this cruise were in shock! These next pictures do not do it justice! I am going to put a video together and share it on my channel soon so stay tuned for that!

I like how we were the last ones to get on the boat but the firsts to eat and we didnt even have to get up, they were brought to us. Thank you Wild Bill for the attentiveness. We had turkey sandwiches with baked chips and pickles, omg yum!

Los Angeles County Fair - The food is nasty good

How to gain 10lbs in one day: Go to the fair!

The fair comes around these parts twice a year for about a month. The Orange County fair was first, and now its time for Los Angeles to show them up. This might be my 3rd fair with Crystal and its always a good time. We are both chickens when it comes to rides so we went for the shopping, pets, and FOOD!

The animals are so cute but most of the time they look so miserable. It was so hot, we felt like we were melting. I feel so horrible for these little guys.

Crystal was trippin on this albino kangaroo haha. He looks more like a rabbit with a long tail.

You will have to either click on the image or zoom in but there is a monkey in this little kennel. He was covered with a blanket (in 100+ degrees) and hauled away. He was sticking his hands out and pulling the blanket off. He had a sweet sad little face :(

We saw a trailer for a snake show for $1. When we walked in, it was a huge tank in a trailer...the end hahahahahha. We got had. I love snakes though. If any of them looked like they wanted a snack I would have got the heck outta there!

#random fact: I used to volunteer with the neighbor hood kids at a pet shop up the street and clean cages and feed huge snakes like these when I was in elementary. Cool memory.

I was happy to see that they used a huge barn this year. You can enjoy the shade without having to be overwhelmed with the smell of the animals and being in a small cramped space.

Who doesnt like seeing baby animals?? The baby lamb chops had umbilical cords still attached, they were no more than a week old!

It was so heavy, three bites and i had to dump it. 3 of us got it thinking we would take it down, we should have just shared one.

I would not recommend this. Yuck. I had a fried Klondike at the OC fair and it was melted (duh) and soggy dough inside...dont waste your money on it.

If it wasnt boiling out it wouldnt be California. I had a great day and couldnt wait to go home and rest my legs. Time flew by fast but we were at the fair for like 5 hours! So much to see, but I was happy that they removed the elephants from the event. I hope you all get a chance to visit the fair before its gone!

Ralphs Market has GOOD FRIDAYS where you go to their market and buy 5 Ralphs brand canned foods (some less than a dollar) and bring them to the fair and they will be your ticket! Thats about $6 a ticket. Call or visit a Ralphs near you for specifics.

Clouds at the beach - Family day

Thanks to a post on Facebook...

one of my cousins posted on Facebook that she was heading to a family day at the beach. I immediately called my mom and asked here what time and what beach. My mom told me about this day a week ago but I didnt write it down haha.

We quickly hit the road as soon as Jude work up from his nap. We hit WalMart for some inexpensive beach toys. All of the beach stuff is on clearance. I got two packs of sand toys for $12. Ryan is from the beach so it didnt take us long to find my family and settle in.

It was a really cloudy day. On our way over it was even raining! It was super windy and we spent all of our time near the fire pit, thankfully a ways from the water too.

A shot before more people showed up. We claimed 3 pits, and tons of towels and blankets covering the sand. It was nice to see a lot of family members I haven't seen it such a long time!

Everytime I am with my family its almost certain I would over eat, and I did! I cant help it. The food is always so good.

I am wearing a turban style headband and a ghostbusters sweatshirt, both from Forever21.

I went to the car for a blanket and I remembered I had a bubble gun in the trunk. Its one of Judes favorite toys and he made sure to spread the bubble love to everyone in our group haha.

I love my family, it was worth the drive.

I am such a chicken when it comes to large body of water...but I sucked it up haha.

Tilapia and Cilantro Rice - Eating good in my hood lol

The best meal is a fast meal....

that is the case if you are the one who has to cook! I love fish and its been a while since Ive made this dish. Jude is a really good eater so I knew he would enjoy it too.

Tonight's Menu: Tilapia and Cilantro Rice

Total cook time with prep: 20 minuets -Total cost of meal : $9 feeds family of 4

When making a dish with rice, it is suggested to start that first. I almost always use MINUTE RICE because its hard to mess it up. This is what you will need:

Box of MINUTE RICE - white or brown

Butter - I used what we had

Cilantro - chopped

White Onion - diced or sliced

Salt and Pepper - a pinch or two of each

Boil water, then add the cilantro and onion. These go first so they have extra time to become soft. You dont want to have hard pieces of onion in your soon to be fluffy rice.

Next stir in the rice and cover with a lid for 7 minutes. I say seven so it has time to cool down and get nice and moist. I usually add a table spoon of oil, stir, then cover...this is optional.

Now for the fish...

I like to use seasonings that my mom used when I was growing up. She made us fish with similar items (seen below). I love citrus flavoring with fish, amazing combo...and expected combo.

I use a full lime, flip over after the first half.

Season one side with all seasonings, flip over then season again.

The rice is done! One tip: Lightly flip / fold rice with spoon. DO NOT STIR.

Jude could not wait for the fish so he started with the rice :)

Heat a non stick pan on medium heat and add 2 table spoons of oil. The fish should start to turn white and this is a sign to flip over. If you are not too sure...take a little peek by lifting a corner of a fish.

Looking good!!

Serve the little guys over a bed of rice and serve with a slice of lime.

Now you are ready to take it down to China Town aka your pansa aka your belly.

I chopped up the fish for Jude, and of course this fish is compeltey boneless!

Date night with the roomie

Lobster...get in my mouth!

I was looking through the ads in the paper and I came across a coupon for $4 lobster tails at Albertson's and I go so excited! Usually they are about double that price, I was about to jump in the car to stock up with my roommate when we checked the date on the coupon...of course! Its not valid until Sunday! So I said lets go to Red Lobster! So we jumped in my car and headed into town.

25 mins later we get to the restaurant and in the entry way was a tank full of yummy dudes. I know its sad to say hi to them before Imma eat them, but they are so damn good!

Crystal and I both ordered the same thing.

The Ocean is in our face and about to be in our bellies!

AHHHHH! Universal Studios!

Best part of waking up is...

room service rolling in breakfast! I did not want to get up sooner than I had to, so one phone call and a 15 min wait...breakfast was served! Beverly Hills Marriot hooked it up, pretty tasty I almost took my whole plate down to china town.

Universal Studios here we come! The last time I was there I was maybe like 10 years old. My Tios (Uncles) build sets and all that cool stuff so I got hooked up hehe. We are ready to walk our feet off! I dont know what is with the California heat but it was one of the hottest days Ive ever experienced. I was strapped with my sunblock spray and my rainbows on my feet. It was gonna be a LONG fun day. I always wear tube tops if I am going to be in the sun for more than an hour. I hate crazy tan lines!

The first ride we went on was the Simpsons roller coaster simulator. Basically you are strapped in a cart that moves a long with a huge screen in front of you that makes it look like you are on a crazy ride. Years ago they had the BACK TO THE FUTURE RIDE and it was waaaay better. This ride smelled like feet and you can clearly see the screen so it wasnt scary...I was just shakin not stirred.

I wanted to go on the "Tram Ride" aka Studio Tour the minute I knew we were coming here. Its a 45 minute tour that takes you around the back lots where famous movies were filmed. A lot of the sets are still there, and tons were being built for up and coming television shows and major motion pictures (movies).

Apperently these sets were used for sense in INCEPTION and THE GHOST WHISPER just to name a couple.

BACK TO THE FUTURE!

Watch out....KNIGHT RIDER (reminded me of my friend Erik)

Cool thing that I learned is that most movie sets that are out of the country are shot here in LA and they set up props like street signs to make it look like another country. These are props used to make the streets of San Diego look like Japan for FAST AND FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT.

These stunt cars are controlled by huge remotes to give the allusion of cars jumping high in the air, I think they are mostly plastic too.

Welcome to Wisteria Lane, home of the Desperate Housewives. The neat thing was to see the fancy cars in the driveways that are just sitting there collecting dust because they are just set props that get driven probably 100 miles in a season. All the plants flowers and trees are all plastic so they dont die or change colors during days of filming.

WHOVILLE the set of The Grinch. This movie was filmed in 2000! They are adding too it for this holiday season.

The Bates Motel, the surviving set of the PSYCHO movie. The other was lost in a fire 3 years ago along with the huge KING KONG set. Theres even a little part where an actor, Norman Bates, comes out of the hotel carrying a presumed dead body...then walks over to the tram with a knife. Oh hell no, I would have fought him lol jk.

WAR OF THE WORLDS a real plane was used for this set. The crash scene was amazingly real looking. I can see how the actors can come off devastated walking around this set.

We went on rides saw some shoes including the Sound Effects show and WATER WORLD. We needed some fuel so we stopped at a Panda Express. It was over priced as expected but it did the job. I was full and ready to head to the exit.

On our way out we ran into a interactive Donkey from SHERK.

My feet and back are killing me still lol. It was a lot more walking than I am used to in one day. I had such a great weekend. I got my time a way and now Im back on the grind. I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend...Happy work week!

The start of a fun weekend! - Fat Burger + Dancing

Dancing Burgers

Ryan wanted to go dancing, like always lol...hes a dancing machine. There are a couple of clubs that we like to go in LA so we knew which one we wanted to go to since it was Friday night, Zanzibar! Before getting dressed, and knowing I might have a couple of glasses on Pinot at the bar...we got some juicy disgusting but good FATBURGER hamburgers.

Ive never had them before. Apparently they come with a fried egg and everything else under the moon. Ummmmm yea not trying to smell like a dancing onion in the club! I got my with JUST mustard ketchup pickles lettuce and cheeeesee pleeeaseee.

My favorite part is probably the Sonia fashion show...where I change back and forth too many times to annoy the person that I am going out with, probably take waaay too long to do my drag queen makeup of the night...and be super excited to go out. WOOT WOOT!

The dramatic event of the night...I was sipping on my drink before leaving the hotel and I missed my mouth lol (who does that??) and it spilled on my top!! The material is sooo thin and gentle I knew it would be stained for sure! I screamed out of hororr and almost cried (trying not to mess up my makeup of course haha) Quick fix: wet the whole damn shirt and then dry with a blow dryer!

Since I decided to film an outfit of the night and carefully walked down to the lobby from our room (trying not to kill myself on ridiculous marble floors) The cabbie left and we had to haul another cab :(Below is a picture we took while waiting. I didnt want to take my camera with me this time because my clutch was literally a dot and it wouldnt fit, caca! I need to get a slim camera like a cyber shot or something.

Alley Cats - Shopping in the Fashion District

Starbucks + Mc Donalds French Fries = Belly

Since I had to pick up Jude from his dad's early, we decided to make a day of it and just go shopping. Me and my roomie Crystal are undercover drag queens and wear false lashes almost everyday. When we are running low we talk about where we can get the best deal.

It used to be IMATS but this year was a FAIL. I posted about the Fashion District in downtown Los Angeles before, but I didnt have the info for the place I got cheap eyelashes from. I made sure I got it for you guys this time haha. Here is her business card:

We went nuts! We each picked up 30 pairs.

Here is a little peek into the alley, well one of them because they are all over the place down here. Its cramped and usually smells like hot dogs haha. I love it. I think it was more exciting when I was younger because I feel like its just as expensive as Forever21 and stores like it.

Look at these Jeffrey Campbell Inspired booties! I was so excited to see them, Ive been eyeballing them. My boyfriend hates them, I saw them on a girl on Main Street in Huntington Beach wearing them with shorts and I had to have them.

Then I saw them on Dulce and I was like ahhhhhh if she has them, we have similar taste most of the time, I knew I had to get them. When I checked sites online they were very pricey. These inspired ones honestly look more wearable and were over $100 cheaper :) *baller on a budget dance* There were shoes every where! The great thing is...you can bargain with shop owners for lower prices and better deals (buy 2 get 1 free or 50% OFF) dont be shy to ask!

These next pumps reminded me of the shoedazzle false advertisment ads on Facebook of fashy the Gianmarco Lorenzi ‘Disco Ball’ Platform Pumps that has everyone searching the site for shoes that are $2800+. These are obviously not covered in Swarovski Crystals, they are the cheap inspired version.

I had them fill Jude's sippy cup (from Walmart $2) with a raspado aka slushie. It was soooo hot.

I thought I was gonna go a whole 4 blocks without seeing bunk MAC makeup...nope! There it is. Selling "Wonder Woman" and "Hello Kitty" collection products including BH cosmetic style palettes as MAC Cosmetic products. FYI its all fake and MAC has never sold 88 color palettes.

Jude was overdue for his nap so we cut our adventure short. We stopped to grab a quick bite, and a staple in the Fashion District, "Alley dogs" Yummy!

Jude likes his dogs plain, no bun either.

I picked up a purse hook, keeps your purse next to you hanging off the edge of the table while you are out at a restaurant.

I also got a hello kitty long sleeve crop top, the brown inspired booties, and a faux leather jacket.
