Invites applications for financial aid from the students who had excelled in public exams, but could not afford to study further.
During the year 2004-05, BREAD will offer scholarships in science and technology : Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Polytechnics, Mathematics and Sciences.

BREAD and North South Foundation (NSF) have awarded over 2,000 Scholarships over the years.
The eligibility criteria include : a family income of less than Rs,38,000
(Rs.26,000 in rural areas) ; top five per cent ranks in Common Entrance Tests (CET) of 85 per cent marks in intermediate or equivalent examination with relaxation of five per cent to rural and girl students in ranks/percentages ; rank of first attempt preferred; coming from Government or Government aided schools only; first year students in the course of study chosen; students eligible for other scholarships will not normally be eligible for BREAD scholarships. Shortlised candidates will be interviewed before the final selection.

Scholarships are given by "NORTH SOUTH FOUNDATION" of USA, based on exam grades and family situation. The annual family income should be less than Rs 38000 in urban areas and Rs 26000 in rural areas. The scholarship amount mostly covers 100% of tuition fees and ranges from Rs 5000 to Rs 10000 per year.

If called for an interview, 50% of the travel cost will be reimbursed.

The North South Foundation provides scholarships to needy children who display academic excellence in India. The Foundation has distributed more than 2,000 scholarships to students who need financial support to pursue their quest for knowledge in engineering, medicine, polytechnic, science and other fields. The scholarship is an annual award and not a one-time payment. The student is eligible for the scholarship until graduation as long as the high academic standards are maintained.

Scholarship for IIT JEE preparation for financially weak .

The whole Programme is divided into four phases; Each phase is followed by one week of preparatory leave for Phase Test. Any of the Phase Test may be considered as "Reshuffling Test", i.e. student's batch can be changed as per his/her performance in these tests to maintain the homogeneous level of competence among students. Guidelines for Student Applicants

RF(I)T’s scholarship programme attempts to provide a helping hand to meritious students as they and their families struggle to bring increasingly expensive professional higher education within their reach. RF(I)T believes that while it has been able to reach out to a few deserving students, it is the value building and the spirit of volunteerism that it seeks to nurture in future professionals, that will form strong links in the chain, which will then reach out monetarily or non-monetarily to others. Hence, compulsory participation in trainings, workshops as well as 10 days of volunteering per academic year are mandatory requirements from students who are awarded scholarships.

Only those students and their parents / guardians who believe in this value system, should proceed with the scholarship application.

2. Utkarsh Scholarship Programme is only for Mumbai based students.

3. RFIT’s Scholarship Profile Form with *below mentioned documents need to be submitted to RF(I)T office after the student has secured admission in the course & institution for which scholarship has been applied for.

4. Profile Form along with documents need to submitted within 30 days of the date of securing admission in the course & institution for which scholarship has been applied for.

5. If candidate does not receive any information from RF(I)T within 15 days of Scholarship profile form submission, it means that the application has been rejected.

6. Applicants need to photocopy the fully filled profile form. While submitting the profile form to the RF(I)T office, please get the photocopy stamped and signed at RF(I)T office while submission of Profile form. The student applicant will have to produce this copy at the time of form issue by RF(I)T.

7. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and incomplete forms will be rejected.

1. The Applicant should fill up the Profile form and submit it to the RF(I)T office along with requested

documents within thirty days of the admission has been secured in the course and Institution for which

scholarship has been applied for.

2. If applicant fulfills the criteria & is shortlisted, s/he will be issued RF(I)T’s Scholarship Application

Form.

3. The Application form needs to be submitted to the RF(I)T within 15 days of it’s issue, along with

attested copies of the required supporting documents.

4. Home Visit will be undertaken as part of the screening process.

5. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview with parents.

6. Decision taken by RF(I)T authorized representatives will be final.

7. Following year scholarship will be considered based on compliance to the scholarship programme norms

by applicants.

Scheme for Fellowship to Students of Academic Institutions for carrying Out Live Consulting Projects

Objective

To provide Fellowships to students for carrying out live projects/assignments relating to consultancy by associating with consultancy firms/agencies/institutions leading towards enhancing capacity building and professional development in the field of consulting.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students with atleast 80% marks in 10+2.

• Students those who are currently enrolled in B.E. / B.Tech / MBA or equivalent courses from AICTE/UGC approved institutions / colleges / universities.

• The project is to be done in individual capacity and group projects will not be considered.

Scope The live consulting projects may be from either engineering or management consulting, aiming towards helping the students in developing skills and competencies on consulting processes, design and development, innovativeness, tools, methods, diagnosis, documentation and presentation.

The project would qualify as a consulting project if it is based on some problem (from either Engineering / Management disciplines) identified by a company / organization / institution and assigned to the student for suggesting consulting solutions.

Amount of Fellowship Fellowship amount of Rs.10000/- (Rupees ten thousand) would be provided to only those students whose reports are accepted by the Centre as per the guidelines given under the Evaluation Process.

Format of Proposal Your proposal for the proposed project / assignment should be submitted to the Centre in the following format:

On completion of the project, the student should submit the Final Hard Bound Report to CDC, inside the back cover of which, it must include a CD (in a protective jacket) containing the softcopy of the Final Report (in DOC/PDF format only) that should reach at CDC, New Delhi within 3 months from the date of award of project. A PhD scholarship has been announced by CEA in association with Supelec. The PhD scholarship aims its research area in Molecular biophysics / Life Sciences/Biochemistry / Life Sciences.

Title: Study of proteins involved in the regulation of Manganese homeostasis by advanced High-Field Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectroscopy

Abstract: The LMESS is a state-of-the-art high-field electron paramagnetic resonance (HFEPR) laboratory interested in the study of manganese in biological systems. Mn is an essential element but exposition to high levels is related to neurodegenerative diseases. Mn also determines the degree of virulence of several. However, how Mn is transported inside the cell and transferred to specific proteins is by far less understood than for other metals. We propose the study of the MntR protein that regulates Mn uptake in cells by binding to specific DNA regions. MntR binds two Mn(II) ions per monomer and it has been shown to adopt different conformations. The different states of MntR will be studied by HFEPR, ENDOR and PELDOR. These studies will give us a precise view on how MntR interacts with Mn and with and DNA. As these processes also involve larger conformational changes, the studies will be complemented with fluorescence measurements at the single molecule level. In this way we will gain a detailed view of the functioning of MntR from small changes at the Mn electronic structure level up to global structural dynamics. The results of the research will help to a better understanding the homeostasis of this important metal.
We are a multi-national team and we offer an interdisciplinary and dynamic environment to a highly motivated student willing to take part in this challenging project.

The trustees of K. C. Mahindra Education Trust offer interest-free loan scholarships to Indian nationals for post-graduate studies abroad in various fields. Applications are invited for the K. C. Mahindra Scholarships for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad for the year 2011.

The Trust has introduced new scholarships worth 24 lacs for 3 top K. C. Mahindra Fellows. The maximum amount for this scholarship will be 8 lacs per student and the minimum amount wi!l be 5 lacs per student. For the rest of the students the maximum amount for scholarship will be 95,000.

Three PhD scholarships in Robotics (Computer Science) are available at the AASS Mobile Robotics Lab of Örebro University, Sweden, on the following research topics.

Topic 1: Human-Aware Planning for Mobile Robots
Background required: Applicants for this position should have a strong background in computer science, and in particular in artificial intelligence. Experience with mobile robots and/or distributed sensor systems is an advantage.
The student will work in the AASS Mobile Robotics Lab under the supervision of Dr. Lars Karlsson.

Topic 2: Cognitive Electronic Noses.
Background required: In this project we are looking for candidates with a strong background in computer science and specifically artificial intelligence. Knowledge in machine learning and sensors and instrumentation is a plus.
The student will work in the AASS Mobile Robotics Lab under the supervision of Dr. Amy Loutfi.

Topic 3: Robotics Ubiquitous Cognitive Network.
Background required: The successful applicant is expected to possess a strong background in computer science and specifically artificial intelligence. Knowledge in sensor networks is a plus.
The student will work in the AASS Mobile Robotics Lab under the supervision of Dr. Mathias Broxvall.

Tasks of the Student: The student's main task will be to perform research aimed at the completion of a PhD thesis in the selected topic. A small percentage of time may also be devoted to taking courses or to teaching activities. The student is expected to take active part in the life of the AASS Mobile Robotics Lab. The student will receive a monthly salary adequate to the cost of living in Sweden (equivalent to about 2400 euro before taxes) and will be included in the Swedish social security system.

Prerequisites: In addition to a clear interest in the research topic, to a strong theoretical background in computer science, and to solid programming skills, the applicant should have a Masters degree in computer science or computer engineering, or an equivalent degree. Knowledge of the Swedish language is not required, but proficiency in written/spoken English is mandatory. Candidates are also required to have the specific background required for the selected topic .

Description: The main challenge for the development of innovative fast reactor fuels, envisioned in the international GEN-IV program, comes from the necessity to incorporate the minor actinides (Np, Am, Cm) into the fuels up to significant concentrations. Though various types of fuels, e.g. nitrides, carbides, metals, are potential candidates, oxide fuels are currently considered as reference for Sodium-cooled Fast Reactors for which worldwide industries have already accumulated substantial experience in terms of fabrication, reactor operation, reprocessing and risk assessment.

The candidate should have a good knowledge in solid state physics as well as a good background in microstructure analysis, crystallography, and thermodynamics.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS

On behalf of the central Ministry of Minority Affairs, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited applications for the award of Maulana Azad National Fellowships from the candidates belonging to the minority communities who have ensured / applied / registered for admission in universities / academic institutions for regular and full time M.Phil / Ph.D in Arts, Science, Commerce and Engineering/Technology. Prior clearance of NET / SLET is not required. The duration of the fellowship shall be 2 years for M.Phil. and 5 years for Ph.D. The monthly fellowship amount is Rs 12,000/- to Rs 14,000/- in addition to annual contingency of Rs 10,000/- to Rs 25,000/-. Maximum number of these fellowships have been earmarked for Muslim students. Merit-cum-means scholarship: Last date extended to September 10 in Kerala

Kochi: The last date for the application of merit-cum-means scholarships for the year 2009-10 has been extended in Kerala. Deserving students can apply for the scholarship till September 10. Earlier, August 20 was fixed as the last date for application.

The scholarships are awarded to students of the minority communities by the central Ministry of Minority Affairs. The students of Muslim and Christian communities in Kerala who are pursuing the listed technical/professional courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate level can apply for the scholarship. The student applying for the scholarship should have secured admission in any technical or professional institution. The annual income of the family from all sources should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakhs.

The candidates applying for scholarships in these three professional Streams must therefore quote North / East / West / South zones only (as applicable) in their case.

ELIGIBILITY: Students pursuing full time courses in these streams & studying in Schools/Colleges/Institutions/Universities recognized by MCI/AICTE/State Education Boards/ State Govt. / ICSC/CBSE/Central Govt./Association of Indian universities, shall be eligible to apply. The student should have bonafide admission in the 1st year of School/College/Institute/University in the academic year 2009-2010. Students of two year full time post graduate courses in Business Administration/Management recognized by Central/State Govt./Association of Indian universities and which are equivalent to MBA, are eligible for management stream scholarship. Students having confirmed admission in the first year of full time engineering degree course, MBBS, MBA and also 11th standard as well as those in the 1st year of 2 year ITI course are eligible to apply. In case of graduates, the average percentage of marks of all the academic years shall be treated as marks obtained by the candidate. Similarly in case of 10th/12th, if percentage of marks obtained is not mentioned by Board/University, percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on total aggregate marks. Minimum eligibility percentage of marks for various categories will be as indicated above. Gross Joint income of the family of the candidate from all sources (during financial year 2008-2009) should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only). Income certificate should be issued by Competent Revenue Authorities only. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination making the students eligible to seek admission in the respective first year of these courses will be considered for selection. Normalization of marks of applicant shall be done for Engg., MBBS & MBA streams to bring parity of marking system within different Boards/ Universities/Institutions. Criterion for selection will be merit and family’s income. Wards of the employees of IOCL, its Joint Venture and Subsidiary companies and ACE Consultants are not eligible to apply.

AGE LIMIT: Minimum 15 years and maximum 30 years as on 1.9.2009. Persons born between 1.9.79 and 1.9.94 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

RESERVATION & RELAXATION: Relaxation in the upper age limit is 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for physically challenged/physically handicapped candidates. 50% of the scholarships are reserved for SC/ST & OBC candidates. In each stream/ category, 25% of scholarships are reserved for girl students and 10% for physically challenged/physically handicapped students. Only those listed in the central govt’s OBC list will be considered against OBC quota. OBC candidates of state list and not covered by central govt’s OBC list may apply against general quota.

APPLICATION: Candidates studying in 11th standard, 1st year of a 2 year ITI course, 1st year of Engineering degree, MBBS and MBA in the academic year 2009-2010 are to apply through Online Application Form by logging on to www.applicationnew.com/ioclscholar. Such candidates need not send application form by post. In order to avoid Postal delay/loss in transit, Candidates are requested to fill the Online Application First. Candidates who are applying offline may use this application form number for all their future correspondence. Applications not in prescribed format (downloaded from the website) will be summarily rejected. Once awarded the scholarships will be disbursed @ Rs. 2,000/- per month for 4 years in case of Engineering & MBBS and 2 years for MBA courses and @ Rs 1,000 per month for duration of 2 years in case of 10+ and ITI course. Duration of each course in no case be less than the duration of the scholarship. The scholarship will be suspended, if the scholar is not promoted to the next academic year. In case, the scholar is not promoted for the second time (in succession for 2 years during the entire course), the scholar will be taken off from the list of IOCL scholars and scholarship will be discontinued permanently. The performance of the scholar must be satisfactory during the entire duration of the course. The performance is to be certified by the Head /Principal/Dean/Director of the School/College/Institute /University. The top one scholar each from final year of Engineering, Medicine & Management (who top their respective university exam) and top 10 scholars amongst final year of ITI & 12th (who are able to achieve position amongst top ten in their respective Board) will be awarded bonus prize of Rs 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each and invited to the annual day function of IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management, Gurgaon, to receive the prize. The travel, board & lodge expenses will be borne by IiPM/IOCL. A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend from any other source. If awarded any other scholarship/stipend, the student can exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same. In case, the scholar opts for any other scholarship, he/she will have to refund the scholarship amount for the duration during which he/she is in receipt of the IOCL scholarship. There will be no obligation on part of IOCL to provide employment/vocational/summer training to any of the scholars, at any time/stage. IOCL reserves the right to reject any application as well as discontinue the scholarship at any time without giving any notice/ assigning any reason.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Applications received later than 30th September 2009, will not be accepted. No correspondence on this subject will be entertained. IOCL shall not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit. No request in this regard will be entertained. Incomplete application form will be rejected. Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Delhi. The short listed candidates will be requested separately, by post, to forward their Caste/Date of Birth/Mark Sheet/family’s Income Certificate etc., duly authenticated by appropriate competent authority/civil authority for verification of documents and drawing up final merit list. Kerala government invites applications for education scholarships for Muslim girls

Kozhikode: The Kerala government has invited applications for education scholarships for Muslim girls. Muslim girls studying for graduate or post graduate professional courses can apply for the scholarship. The applicant should have secured admission to the course in merit via the common entrance test conducted in the state. She should have got admission in the institution in 2008. The attested copies of the SSLC certificate, certificate of qualifying exam and community certificate, income certificate issued by the village officer (original) and the account number of the applicant’s State Bank of Travancore bank account should be submitted to the principal of the institution where the student is studying along with the filled up application form. Special counters for post-matric scholarships in Thiruvananthapuram college

Kozhikode: Special counters have been arranged in the Sanskrit College campus in Thiruvananthapuram for receiving the applications of post-matric scholarships and related documents. Counters will function in the college campus at Palayam in the city from 10 am onwards every day.

Kerala Govt invites applications for post-matric scholarships

Kochi: Initiating the process for Centrally funded post-matric scholarship for 2009-10 the state government has asked authorised Teacher Training Institutes and government-recognised educational institutions following CBSE and ICSE syllabi to report their e-mail IDs to the Directorate of Collegiate Education of Kerala. E-mail address should be mailed to dccscholarship@gmail.com.

Director of Collegiate Education has made an announcement to the effect regarding the post-matric scholarships.

The post-matric scholarships are given to students of minority communities who are pursuing studies after the completion of 10th standard. In Kerala, Muslim and Christian students from 11th standard to PhD in government-recognised institutions as well as those in 11th and 12th classes in recognised ITIs can apply for the scholarship in their first year. Applications for the scholarship were invited in the state on July 29.

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, which runs three mega scholarship schemes, has fixed a target of 7 lakh scholarships under the Post-Matric scheme. The State of Kerala has been given a target of 51415 scholarships, of which Muslims will get 29050 scholarships and Christians 22365. Kerala is at No. 5 in terms of allocation under this scheme. Uttar Pradesh tops the list of 35 states/Uts with 117985 scholarships followed by West Bengal with 77805. Maharashtra (64400) and Punjab (56525) are at No. 3 and 4.

The filled-up applications should be sent via the head of the institute where the applicant studies to the address – Scholarship Special Officer, College Education Department (Annex), Sanskrit College Campus, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram. The applications should reach the addressee before August 15. Applications without the introductory letter of the head of the institution and those that reach the addressee after August 15 will not be entertained. The applying students should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final exam. The annual income of the guardian should not exceed Rs 2 lakh. Students from the BPL families will be given preference over others. Those students receiving this scholarship should not receive any other scholarship/stipend for the same course. Thirty per cent of the scholarship is earmarked for girls. The scholarship will not be allowed for more than two children of the same family. The complete address, along with pin code, of the institution of study should be given with the application. Whether the institution is recognised by the government too should be made clear.

Kerala Wakf Board invites applications for loan scholarships

The Kerala State Wakf Board has invited applications from Muslim students for its loan scholarships. The scholarships are distributed to Muslim boys and girls doing professional courses like engineering and medicine.

As per the allotment for the academic year 2009-10, applications are invited only from those who have joined for the first year courses.

A total of 100 students will get the scholarships this year (MBBS- 35, B Tech- 35, BDS- 11, BVSC- 2, BHMS- 5, BSc Nursing- 7). The applicants should have acquired 80% marks or similar grades in the previous exams. However, those doing B Ed, M Ed, MCA and MBA need have only 60% marks. The annual income should be below Rs 2.5 lakh.

Scholarship announces for minority girl students

The Maulana Azad Education Foundation has invited applications for scholarships for meritorious girl students from the minority communities. The scholarship is given to meet the tuition fees, expenses for books, hostel fees etc. Only girl students of Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Buddhist communities are eligible for the scholarship.

Only those students whose parents’ annual income is below Rs 1 lakh need apply. The income certificate from the part of the parents, and not from the school, should be submitted along with the application form. The students should have obtained 55% marks in the 10th standard exam and secured seats in 11th standard or +1. The admission slip issued by the college/school authority where the student is presently studying should also be attached with the application form.

The scholarship amount is Rs 12000 and will be distributed in two equal installments of Rs 6000 each, for 11th and 12th standards. Students once selected for the scholarship will not be eligible for it again. The application form can be downloaded from the website of the Maulana Azad Foundation and its photocopies too can be used. There are no special application fees. The filled up application forms should reach the office of the foundation in New Delhi before August 31.

Criteria: Undergraduate studies in Arts / Commerce / Science / Medical / Engineering and other technical and professional discipline at any University / Institution / College of students choice anywhere in India.
Eligibility: 1. Indian Nationals. 2. Students who are currently in Class XII or have passed Class XII from a recognised board in India. Those in the 1st year of the undergraduate course (any discipline) are also eligible to apply.
Scope: Tuition fee, maintenance allowance or hostel/mess charges and other allowances to cover travel, clothing and books. Scholarships are tenable up to a maximum of five years. All grants are renewed annually based on Scholars good academic performance.
