SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT

The scholarship includes the following benefits:

1. the assumption of costs for the language course
2. the provision of accommodation by the course provider for the duration of the course (accommodation in a single room e.g. in a student residence, a shared apartment or a private household)
3. a one-time partial scholarship payment of EUR 475.00
4. The payment of a country-specific travel allowance. You can find the currently applicable travel allowances here
5. Benefits for health, accident and personal liability insurance

Note: The partial scholarship and the travel allowance are not transferred abroad. The DAAD transfers the money to the course provider, who then pays it out in cash to the scholarship recipients on site.

ELIGIBILITY

Applications are mainly open to enrolled bachelor and master students of all disciplines who are at least 18 years old. In general, they must prove that they have a minimum German language level of B1.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

1. Fully funded scholarships by the 6overnment of Iraq including full exemption from tuition fees with university accommodation and the approved benefits.
2. Partially funded scholarships including partial exemption from fees or specific benefits according to the approved regulations.
3. Unfunded scholarships that allow students to study at Iraqi universities according to the approved tuition fees within the framework and regulatory mechanisms of the program.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Nationality: Applicants must be foreign/non-Iraqi students.
2. Bachelor’s Degree: Must hold a secondary-school qualification obtained outside Iraq.
3. Master’s Degree: Must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree.
4. PhD: Must hold a recognized Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
5. Iraqi Origin: Applicants must not be of Iraqi origin or have Iraqi parents who subsequently acquired another nationality.
6. Admission Status: Must not currently hold a study placement through Iraq’s regular university admission system.
7. Multiple Applications: Must not simultaneously apply through other public or private Iraqi university admission channels.
8. Academic Documents: Certificates must be officially certified and accompanied by Arabic or English translations where applicable.
9. Passport: Must hold a passport valid for at least two years.
10. Health Certificate: A valid health certificate is required at the time of enrollment.

3. Proof of origin/parentage e.g. birth certificate or equivalent document showing the applicant’s and parents’ origin.

6. Documents should be translated into Arabic or English where required and properly authenticated
