ITALIAN BURSARY PROGRAMME OFFERED TO FOREIGN AND IRE (Italians Resident Abroad) STUDENTS Public announcement for Academic Year 2013/2014 DEADLINE: 31 May 2013 Introduction The Italian Government announces the following bursary programme for foreign students and IRE (Italian Residents Abroad) to study in Italy during the Academic Year 2012/2013. The program aims to promote international cultural cooperation and the diffusion of Italian language, science and culture, also promoting the projection of Italian economy and technologies abroad. The programme is offered by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its diplomatic mission in the accredited country of the applicants, to foreign citizens or Italians resident abroad (IRE), living and residing in selected countries wishing to study at Italian public universities or other public institutions of higher education. Bursaries will be awarded with a priority to students who shall demonstrate through the excellence of their curriculum the ability to complete with profit their studies in Italian public study institutions. Applicants should study this public announcement carefully and familiarise themselves with the terms for participating in this bursary program before completing the online application procedure. Particular attention should be paid to the following: • Age limit (Applicant's age should not exceed 35 years, with some exceptions); • Educational background (Preferably a Masters Degree or equivalent); • Required documentation (Application form, referee reports, academic diplomas and transcripts, applicant's CV) 1. Thematic areas of study, duration of bursaries offered, prerequisites Applicants are advised to check the website of the Italian mission in the student's country of citizenship for further details and country specific exceptions to the following, before applying. Applicants may request three monthly bursaries for: a) courses in Italian language and culture: Applicants are asked to provide proof of enrolment in a foreign university and of having passed at least a Level A1 Italian language test. Admittance is only to courses with a minimum duration of 3 months and of an A2 university level or higher; applicants must be enrolled in the 3rd year or higher and have passed at least one university level Italian language exam in their home country. Recommended are the Italian language courses offered by the Universities for Foreigners in Perugia, Siena, "Dante Alighieri" of Reggio Calabria and Roma Tre, or other institutions accredited to certify knowledge of Italian as a foreign language. All beginner level and/or less than 3-month language courses are excluded. Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. b) Courses in Italian language teaching: Applicants must be foreign teachers with documented experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language (IFL) in their country of origin. Admitted are only courses of a minimum 3-month duration given at the Universities for Foreigners of Perugia, Siena, "Dante Alighieri" of Reggio Calabria and Roma Tre or other institutions accredited in the certification of knowledge of Italian as a foreign language. Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. c) Study or research projects at non-private Italian research Centres – Laboratories – Libraries - Archives - Museums: Applicants must duly document study or research projects they intend to carry out at the chosen facility for a period of at least 3 months. Projects must have prior written approval, in a letter to the applicant from an Italian host institution supervisor. The letter must state the supervisor's willingness to accept responsibility also for assessing the bursaryholder's performance both during and at the conclusion of the study or research activity. Applicants may request six or nine month bursaries for: d) Individual university courses: Applicants must provide certification both of enrolment in a foreign university and of pre-acceptance by the Italian university where they intend to study. Preference is given to bursary applications for Level II individual university courses of a 6-month minimum duration, accompanied by a letter of pre-acceptance from the chosen university. Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. e) University degree courses (Levels I or II): Preference is given to bursary applications for Level II University courses accompanied by a letter of pre-acceptance from the chosen university. Applicants must provide proof, valid in their place of residence, of having completed upper secondary school and/or first level university studies depending on the University Level they intend to follow. Bursaryholders may request renewal of the bursary for the subsequent academic years in compliance with the "Memorandum for Bursary-Holders" (Regolamento del Borsista). Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. f) Advanced professional training, art and music courses: Applicants must provide proof, valid in their place of residence, of having completed upper secondary school studies for admission to State or legally accredited academies or conservatories. It is advisable to have a letter of pre-acceptance from the Italian Institution chosen. Eligible courses, of a minimum 6-month duration, include those offered by institutes of advanced professional, art, music and choral training (academies, conservatories, ISIA, etc.), restoration institutes and the National School of Cinema. Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. g) Courses in Italian language teaching: Bursaries for teacher training or refresher courses, reserved for foreign teachers of L2 Italian language courses, and university students with a degree equivalent to the Italian short degree who have passed at least one university-level Italian language exam in their country. Bursaries are awarded for specific course programmes with a minimum 6-month duration offered by the Universities for Foreigners of Perugia, Siena, "Dante Alighieri" of Reggio Calabria and Roma Tre, or other accredited institutions authorized to certify knowledge of the Italian language or teaching Italian as a Foreign Language. Upon completion of the course attended, the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. h) Masters Degree courses (Levels I or II): Applicants must have a degree corresponding with the Italian first or second Level degree depending on the Master course chosen and eventual other documentation as requested by their chosen Italian institution. All Level I and II Masters courses must have minimum six month duration and are not exempt from enrolment fees. If the course requires a period of study outside of Italy, payment of the bursary will be suspended during that period. Since admittance to Masters Courses is often on a selection basis, and courses require a minimum number of participants to be held, it is the applicants' responsibility to make sure both of their admittance to the course and its actual start date. Bursary-holders are reminded that they have a right to the awarded bursary only for a period of study to be completed by 31 December 2014, and only if they attend the courses originally chosen. Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. i) Doctorate Courses: Since admission to research doctorates in Italy is regulated by strict provisions issued by individual universities, in addition to the requirements listed in the previous point, applicants are required to have established contact with the university of their choice before submitting their bursary applications in order to agree on admission requirements. l) Schools of specialisation: (See also "Masters Degree courses", above) Courses must be of minimum six month duration. Medical studies are categorically excluded from the list of eligible specialisations (See Legislative Decree no. 257 of 08.08.1991). For admission see also the previous point "Doctorate Courses". Upon completion of the course attended the bursary-holder will have to sit the required exams. m) Individual or jointly supervised study or research projects: (See also "Masters Degree courses", above). Research bursaries are awarded exclusively for research activities at the CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Istituto Superiore di Sanità or other analogous State university facilities, museums, or archives, and for a minimum duration of 6 months. The research project proposal must be submitted with the application, in addition to letters of acceptance from the professor or expert supervisor of the research project proposed by the applicant, and from the director of the Italian academic institution or facility meant to host the bursary-holder. Priority will be given to applicants whose study and research aims are cited in existing bilateral agreements with the researcher's home university. To receive each three months payment, in addition to the documentation cited in the Memorandum for Bursary-Holders (Regolamento del Borsista), bursaryholders will be required to send periodical summary reports of the study or research activities carried out to the Country Contact at Office VII of the DGSP. Such reports shall be signed by the Italian supervisor who produced the above letter of acceptance. All free research programs are not eligible for a bursary. 2. Degrees/certificates awarded First and second level University Degree – Teaching certificate of Italian as a foreign language – Italian Language Certificate - Certification of individual University course completion - Level I and II Masters Degree – Doctorate Diploma - Certificate of completion of research – Advanced professional, art or music specialisation or diploma. 3. Bursary Selection Committee and Host Institutions Bursary recipients are selected by the Italian diplomatic mission in the applicant's country of residence through an "ad hoc" committee or jointly with the local authorities. The Italian Government awards and pays the bursary through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate General for Country Promotion (DGSP), Office VII, Rome. 4. University Host Institutions Bursaries are awarded for study and/or research programmes at public and legally accredited institutions. Bursary recipients study at the Italian universities/institutions of their choice, based on the approval of the selection committee. Pre-enrolment to the chosen Italian Institution will be done through the Italian Diplomatic Representatives in the student's country of citizenship. Eligible Institutions include:  Universities, university institutes and polytechnic institutes.  Advanced training institutes for art and music and conservatories.  Restoration institutes.  The National School of Cinema.  Italian research centres or laboratories, archives and museums that have stipulated agreements with the foreign under-graduate or post-graduate university departments in which the applicant is enrolled, or that offer institutional collaboration to foreign scholars and/or researchers through supervisors appointed by the director of the institution. Bursaries cannot be granted for the following:  Foreign institutions (universities, academies, libraries, schools of any sort), even if situated in Italy;  Private and non-accredited research centres or laboratories. The only exceptions are for bursaries awarded for designated "Special Projects". Bursary duration and start dates The only bursaries to be awarded for the 2013/2014 academic year will be of three, six or nine month duration. Exceptions may be made in particular cases. Start dates must be from January 1st 2014 onward, and duration cannot exceed 31 December 2014. 6. Age limits for applicants Unless otherwise indicated in the executive programmes of cultural agreements with individual countries, new bursary or renewal applications cannot be accepted from applicants above 35 years of age at the date of expiration ("deadline", see below) of this announcement. In no case may bursaries be awarded to applicants under legal age. The applicant age limit can be extended to 45 years for teachers of the Italian language with documented, ongoing Italian language teaching experience in their country of origin. Since age limits can vary, as some institutions are legally required to set different ones, applicants are advised to check directly with the institutions concerned. 7. How to apply All applicants must fill in the on-line application form at "Borse on Line". http://borseonline.esteri.it/BorseOnLine/ Please read carefully the indications and notes on the website. 8. Application deadline Application forms must be received on-line by midnight (Italian time) Friday, May 31st 2013. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the Italian Embassy in their country. Successful recipients will be asked to immediately submit authenticated copies of their documents along with their official translations in Italian. The online application "Borse On Line" for the academic year 2013-2014 has been updated to reflect the new rules. Completion and submission of the online application form presumes acceptance of the rules indicated on the website. Access to a functional, unrestricted and fast internet connection is a necessary pre-requisite for the application process. 9. Language of study Italian is the required language of study in Italy. A basic knowledge of Italian is necessary even at Universities offering courses in English. Adequate knowledge of the Italian language is indispensible to obtaining a bursary and to enrolment in a university course in Italy, and must be certified in writing. Applicants will need a certificate of intermediate level Italian (e.g. CILS B2, CELI 3, PLIDA B2 or INT.IT Roma Tre) or of equivalent linguistic competence issued by a local organization or language school (e.g. Italian Cultural Institute, Dante Alighieri Society branch etc.). Applicants for enrolment in advanced musical training courses, 3-month language courses or University courses held entirely in English, will have to demonstrate at least A2 level certification of competence in Italian, or equivalent. 10. Number of bursaries available, amounts and bursary, selection Committee Specific information is provided by the Italian Embassy or Italian Cultural Institute in the applicant's country of citizenship. Please check also the websites of these institutions for more country-specific information. 11. Duties and responsibilities of bursary-holders in Italy Bursary-holders in Italy must abide by the rules and regulations specified in the updated "Memorandum for Bursary-holders" (Regolamento del Borsista): http://www.esteri.it/MAE/EN/Ministero/Servizi/Stranieri/Opportunita/BorseStudio_stranieri.htm?LANG=EN For other useful information check periodically this page dedicated to foreign students. The non-observance of those rules and regulations will invalidate the bursary. 12. Entry Visa in Italy All bursary-holders must arrive in Italy with an entry visa for study purposes issued by the Italian diplomatic mission and valid for the entire duration of the bursary. Exemptions from visa requirements include European Union citizens and the citizens of countries with which Italy has bilateral agreements on such matters. Upon arrival in Italy bursary-holders must go, within eight (8) days, to the Questura (Police) of the town or city where they will be living during their studies. They should apply at the Questura for a residence permit for study reasons. In the case of arrival in Italy before the bursary start date, the bursary-holder will have to apply for the residence permit according to the instructions of the Questura. 13. Travel to Italy and back Bursaries do not usually cover airfares or other travel expenses. Italian diplomatic missions will inform bursary-holders of any exceptions. 14. Bursary payments Payment of bursaries will take place on a three-months basis and normally during the quarter of reference by bank transfer to an Italian bank or postal account in the name of the bursaryholder, who holds the responsibility for opening the account and transmitting its details to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, Office VII of the DGSP. For the academic year 2013-2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has signed a Convention with several Italian Universities (Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia, Università Bocconi, Università degli studi di Torino, Università degli studi di Milano, Università degli studi di Roma Tor Vergata, Università per stranieri di Perugia, Università per stranieri di Siena, Università per stranieri "Dante Alighieri" di Reggio Calabria) according to which, among other facilitations, all bursary payments will be made directly to the students by the University itself with a shortened and simplified procedure. 15. Health and accident insurance For the sole period of the bursary granted by the Italian government, foreign bursary-holders are covered by an insurance policy that covers eventual expenses incurred as a result of illness and/or accident. Residence permits for study during periods not included in the duration of the bursary will be issued by the Questura only to foreign students with health insurance coverage. Therefore, bursary-holders who arrive in Italy before the start date of the bursary or that need to stay on after its expiration, if they are non-EU citizens (i.e. do not have a T.E.A.M., E111 or E128 health insurance card from their home country), will have to take out health insurance at their own expense. 16. Enrolment fee exemptions Foreign holders of Italian government bursaries enrolled in First Level Degree Courses (Corsi di Laurea di Primo Livello) Second Level Degree Courses (Laurea Magistrale), Schools of Specialisation (Scuole di Specializzazione) (with the exception of medical studies) and research doctorates (Dottorati di ricerca) are exempt from university enrolment fees (ref: D.P.C.M. 09/04/2001). Students enrolled in individual courses, professional training, art and music courses, Level I and II Masters courses, will be required to pay related enrolment fees. 17. Bursary renewal Foreign students or Italians Residing Abroad (IREs) holding bursaries may apply for renewal for the continuation or completion of a multi-year course of study (Corsi di Laurea, Scuole di Specializzazione, Dottorati di Ricerca). The procedures and timeframes for applicants wishing to renew a bursary are the same as for all other new applicants. Bursary-holders requesting the first renewal will have to have passed at least two exams in the preceding year. Subsequent renewals depend on passing all the exams included in the study plan for the preceding academic years and two in the current academic year at the deadline for bursary renewal application. Renewals may be accorded only for a number of years not exceeding the legal length of course of study. Bursary-holders that have passed the age limit (See above, point 6) may not apply for renewal. KOMPAS.com - Pemerintah Swiss melalui Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) menawarkan beasiswa untuk tahun akademik 2011/12. Beasiswa ini ditawarkan untuk para mahasiswa pascasarjana (postgraduate) yang ingin melakukan riset atau meraih gelar master di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Swiss.

Program beasiswa ini berlangsung selama 9 (sembilan) bulan atau 1 tahun akademik. Namun, dalam kondisi tertentu beasiswa dapat diperpanjang maksimal hingga tahun ajaran ke-2 sesuai dengan pertimbangan FCS dan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan.

Adapun beberapa program studi atau pendidikan yang tidak termasuk dalam tawaran beasiswa antara lain adalah Ilmu Kesenian, Pendidikan S-1, Pendidikan Sekolah Perhotelan, Pertukaran pelajar/mahasiswa, Part-time studies, On-the-job studies, atau Studi jarak jauh (correspondence course).

Bagi yang tertarik dengan program ini perlu mengetahui, bahwa jumlah beasiswa senilai CHF 1.920 per bulan (untuk biaya hidup). Harap diingat, bahwa tidak semua program pascasarjana dan perguruan tinggi di Swiss membebaskan penerima beasiswa dari biaya perkuliahan karena beasiswa ini hanya mencakup biaya hidup di Swiss.

Untuk itulah, setiap pelamar sangat perlu mengklarifikasi kepastian pembebasan uang kuliah untuk program studi yang dipilih dengan perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan. Sementara biaya perjalanan dan asuransi penerima beasiswa dari Indonesia harus menanggung sendiri biaya perjalanan ke Swiss tersebut.

Pendaftaran beasiswa ini sudah dibuka dan pelamar harus sudah mengembalikan formulir pendaftaran yang dilampiri lengkap dengan dokumen-dokumen pendukung paling lambat pada 31 Oktober 2010 mendatang ke Kedutaan Besar Swiss (Bagian Kebudayaan) di Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said Kav. X3/2, Jakarta 12950.

Lotus Project, Erasmus Mundus Grant for South East Asian

Lotus is an Erasmus Mundus Action Two Partnership (EMA2) of European and South-East Asian Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and Associations aiming at fostering mutual enrichment and better understanding between the EU and South-East Asia (China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand), through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level and to co-operate in the following program activities:

Mobility of undergraduate and graduate students
Mobility of PhD students
Post-doc mobility
Academic and administrative staff mobility

The types of mobility to be funded are:

For students: undergraduate, master, doctorate and post-doctorate mobility opportunities
For academic staff: exchanges for the purposes of teaching, practical training and research
This project is to give South-East Asian students and staff the possibility to go to a European University to improve, enrich, learn, experience, .... their own knowledge and skills.

Please bear in mind that the scholarships are only granted to South-East Asian students and staff coming to Europe.

The Graduate Studies in International Affairs program offers up to
four Hedley Bull Scholarships each year for full-time study in the
Master of Arts (International Relations) commencing in semester one.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of Arts
(International Relations).

When applying for the MA (International Relations), eligible
applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering
letter indicating their interest in being considered for the
scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering
letter together with the application for the MA (International
Relations) (including transcripts and three academic references) will
be considered as the full application for the scholarship. There is no
need to provide a separate application. The scholarship provides a
full-fee waiver for three full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts
to 48 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.

Closing date for receipt of complete application for scholarship: 30 October 2009

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

MA (International Relations) (MAIR)

Master of International Affairs (MIA)

Applicants for the MAIR and MIA should normally have obtained at least
second class honours, division A, in their Australian bachelor degree,
or the equivalent in a degree from other countries. The degree should
normally be in any discipline of the social sciences or the humanities.
'Equivalence' may be met by a very good four-year bachelor degree, a
very good graduate diploma, or a very good three-year bachelor degree
and substantial relevant work experience demonstrating a capacity for
analysis and research. As a guide, 'very good' normally refers to an
A/B+ average and above, or distinction average and above.

Graduate Diploma in International Affairs (GDIA)

Applicants for the GDIA require a 'very good' bachelor degree. Although
a degree in the social sciences would be an advantage, degrees in other
areas will be considered.

English Language Requirements

International applicants should note that the University requires
evidence of an adequate standard of English. Unless undergraduate
studies were undertaken in Australia, Canada (if English was the
language of instruction) , New Zealand, the UK or the USA, international
students will normally be required to produce evidence of one of the
following:
* a verification of a tertiary degree of at least two years conducted entirely in English.
* an IELTS overall band score of 6.5 together with a score of at least 6.0 in all components

* a minimum TOEFL score of: 570 (old system); 230 (new system) and a
Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5; or 90 (internet-based) ,
with a minimum of 20 in all four sections. (You should check with the
Australian Diplomatic Mission in your country whether TOEFL is accepted
for student visa purposes.)

Sesuai dengan Keputusan Pemerintah Federasi Rusia tentang penerimaan
mahasiswa asing di perguruan tinggi Rusia, maka pada tahun ajaran
2009/2010 Pemerintah Federasi Rusia memberikan 30 beasiswa bagi warga
negara Republik Indonesia. Dengan jenjang, persyaratan dan bidang
studi sebagai berikut.

1. Jenjang

Beasiswa diberikan untuk Jenjang S-1 (Bachelor) dan S-2 (Magister)
sebanyak 25 beasiswa. Sedangkan untuk Jenjang S-3 (Kandidatura) ,
Post-Doktoral (Doktorantura) dan Penelitian/Pelatiha n (Stazhirovka)
sebanyak 5 beasiswa.

3. Perguruan Tinggi dan Proses Belajar

Perguruan Tinggi/Universitas tujuan belajar terdapat di kota-kota di
seluruh Federasi Rusia. Penempatan penerima beasiswa ditentukan oleh
Pemerintah Federasi Rusia.

Proses belajar-mengajar diselenggarakan dalam bahasa Rusia. Untuk itu
selama 1 (satu) tahun semua penerima beasiswa program studi S-1 dan
S-2 akan belajar di Fakultas Persiapan (Preparatory Faculty) untuk
mempelajari bahasa Rusia dan mata pelajaran yang sesuai dengan
jurusan/program studi yang telah dipilih.

Bagi Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3, Doktorantura dan
penelitian/pelatiha n akan mempelajari bahasa Rusia selama proses
belajar (tidak melalui Fakultas Persiapan).

4. Persyaratan

Untuk Jenjang S-1 dan S-2:

· Para pelamar beasiswa harus memiliki ijazah Sekolah Menengah SMU
yang setara dengan ijazah SMU Rusia dengan nilai untuk mata pelajaran
pokok/sesuai dengan spesialisasi yang akan dipilih tidak lebih rendah
dari 80% tingkat maksimalnya (Nilai Rata-rata 8,0). Untuk mata
pelajaran lainnya juga harus bernilai baik (tidak ada angka merah).
(Untuk Jenjang S-2 harus memiliki ijasah S-1 dengan IPK
sekurang-kurangnya 2,50);

· Kurun waktu antara tamat Sekolah Menengah/SMU (atau lembaga
pendidikan pra-perguruan tinggi lainnya) dengan saat pendaftaran
beasiswa ini harus tidak melampaui 3 tahun.

· Usia para calon untuk S-1 hendaknya tidak lebih dari 25 tahun dan
S-2 tidak lebih dari 30 tahun.

Untuk Jenjang S-3, Penelitian, Post Doktoral:

· Calon Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3 harus berpendidikan
berpendidikan tinggi setingkat M.Sc./M.A.,

· mempunyai pengalaman kerja yang sesuai dengan spesialisasinya;

· usia hendaknya tidak melampaui 35 tahun.

5. Berkas Lamaran

Berkas lamaran lengkap diserahkan langsung ke Bagian Kebudayaan
Kedutaan Besar Federasi Rusia – Pusat Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan
Rusia (Jl. Diponegoro, 12, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, telp./fax:
31935290) sebelum tanggal 20 Maret 2009.

Berkas surat lamaran dimasukkan ke dalam Map/Amplop Kuning (untuk
S-1), Merah (untuk S-2) dan Hijau (Untuk S-3/Penelitian) harus dengan
isi dan urutan sebagai berikut:

1. Application Form dalam Bahasa Inggris

2. Fotokopi ijazah/sertifikat dari tingkat pendidikan yang
bersangkutan beserta transkrip nilainya dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa
Inggris yang telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

3. Surat keterangan bahwa calon telah mengikuti tes kesehatan dan
tidak mempunyai hambatan dalam menghadapi iklim Rusia dalam Bahasa
Inggris dan telah dilegalisir oleh Instansi yang berwenang;

4. Surat keterangan bebas HIV/AIDS yang telah dilegalisir oleh
Instansi yang berwenang;

5. Fotokopi Akta Kelahiran dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa Inggris yang
telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

6. Fotokopi lembar pertama Paspor RI dengan data-data calon penerima
beasiswa (untuk mengisi formulir bagi visa),

7. Sepuluh lembar pasfoto ukuran 4 x 6 cm.

Untuk pelamar Jenjang S-3 sekaligus harus menyerahkan daftar judul
publikasinya (jikalau ada) dan referat singkat (proposal singkat)
maksimal 2 halaman tentang tema penelitian ilmiah untuk studi S-3-nya
rangkap 2 (dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris). Bagi lulusan perguruan
tinggi Rusia harus membuat proposal dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa
Rusia.

6. Lain-lain

Segala hal menyangkut kedatangan dan domisili keluarga penerima
beasiswa tidak menjadi tanggungan perguruan tinggi dimana mahasiswa
belajar.

Penerima beasiswa S-1 dan S-2 harus sudah berada di Rusia terhitung
sejak tanggal 1 s/d 15 September 2009, penerima beasiswa untuk S-3 dan
pelatihan/training – sebelum tanggal 1 Desember 2009.

Fellowship at UNFPA Special Youth Programme

The Special Youth Programme fellowship consists of an initial 4.5 months
fellowship at UNFPA Headquarters, New York, followed - upon satisfactory
performance - by a continued fellowship of another 4.5 months in the UNFPA
Regional Office or Country Office in the region / country of the fellow.

UNFPA is currently recruiting for a group of fellows to start their
fellowships in April/May.

Objective
This programme is designed to give young people from developing countries
opportunities to engage in policy development and programming; to help build
the capacity of young people; and to sensitize both the young people and
UNFPA staff on partnering to address adolescent and youth issues.

During the course of the programme, fellows will:

Attend and participate in UNFPA and UN events and meetings as
appropriate

Undertake research and writing assignments

Contribute to ongoing projects and programmes

Organize a final presentation to UNFPA HQ staff on their projects and

The Werner Reichardt Centre for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN) is a newly established interdisciplinary institution at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen funded by the German Excellence Initiative program.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic applicants are invited for PhD research positions in CIN to explore the molecular and cellular processes underlying senses of touch and pain.

Although mechanosensation might be the most ancient of our five senses, touch and mechanical pain remain the least understood of the vertebrate sensory transduction events both at cellular and molecular level. In order to investigate the molecular and cellular nature of mechanosensation, electrophysiology techniques, calcium imaging, cell culture techniques and immunofluorescence staining, confocal laser scanning microscopy, electron microscopy and standard techniques of molecular cell biology will be employed.

Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research area, and should be highly motivated. In addition, applicants with a background in neuroscience or biophysics are highly encouraged to apply.

The ADB-JSP enrolls about 300 students annually in 20 academic institutions located in 10 countries within the Region.

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION

The ADB-JSP provides full scholarships for one to two years.

* full tuition fees
* a monthly subsistence and housing allowance
* an allowance for books and instructional materials
* medical insurance
* travel expenses

The scholarship is for one year with an extension to the second year of study, as appropriate, which shall be conditional on the scholar maintaining a satisfactory level of performance as determined by the institute. The maximum duration of scholarship award is two years for masters and doctorate programs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

* A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship) .
* Gained admission to an approved post graduate course in any of the participating academic institutions. (Department of Economics, National University of Singapore)
* A bachelor's degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
* At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience
* Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.
* Not more than 35 years old at the time of application.
* In good health.
* Should agree to return to his/her home county after completion of studies under the Program.
* Staff of participating academic institutions are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of the other international organizations are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for the Scholarship.

Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

Science of Virtues- Research Grants

Introduction: The Arete Initiative at the University of Chicago is
pleased to announce a new $3 million research program on a New Science
of Virtues. This is a multidisciplinary research initiative that seeks
contributions from individuals and from teams of investigators working
within the humanities and the sciences. We support highly original,
scholarly projects that demonstrate promise of a distinctive
contribution to virtue research and have the potential to begin a new
field of interdisciplinary study.

Eligibility: The selection criteria by which the Council will evaluate
proposals and select the winners would focus on the ability of the
proposal to generate ground-breaking results in the study of virtues.
To ascertain the likely success of the researcher, they will also be
expected to consider the scholar's record of achievement, training
history, and the promise of long-term impact.

Amount Awarded: two-year research grants will be awarded ranging from
$50,000 to $300,000.

Indirect Cost Recovery: This scheme is subject to University of Sydney
indirect costs of up to 20%.

General Cultural Scholarship Scheme(GCSS)
Government of India, through the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS)
administered by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), has
announced the grant of 28 scholarships for Indonesian students and 2
scholarships for students from Timor Leste for the academic year
2009-2010 in the fields of Arts, Architecture, Literature, Commerce and
Science and degree courses in Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture.
The scholarships are also extended for doctoral and post doctoral
courses.

United Nations University (UNU) will organize the tenth regular session of its six-week UNU International Course at UNU Centre in Tokyo, Japan, from 11 May through 19 June 2009.

The UNU International Courses (UNU/IC) are organized annually for a select group of postgraduate students and professionals in various occupations (from multidisciplinary educational background including environmental sciences) who wish to pursue careers in international fields in public-service or private organizations, including the United Nations, multinational corporations and non-governmental organizations, as well as national foreign service organizations. The courses are designed to provide analyses of global issues from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.

UNU/IC consists of a compulsory Core course (UN System: Pressing Issues and Sustainable Solutions) and optional Courses (Students are allowed to choose one or two courses from - Peace and Human Rights; Global Change and Sustainability; International Development and Cooperation) . The courses are offered by international faculty and English will be used as instruction language.

Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to find appropriate funding from potential sources. Limited numbers of fellowships (both full and partial) are also available to assist very few outstanding candidates from developing countries.

Description:

The University of Massachusetts is offering a limited number of graduate
teaching assistantships to students admitted to the M.A./Ph.D. program in
Hispanic Linguistics through the Department of Languages, Literatures and
Cultures for the upcoming 2009-2010 academic year. Graduate students in Hispanic
Linguistics may specialize in such areas as Spanish dialectology,
sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, computer-assisted language
learning, and computational linguistics. Students are also encouraged to take
classes in the Department of Linguistics (http://www.umass.edu/linguist/), one
of the top-ranked Ph.D. programs in the country.
Qualified applicants will be considered for a graduate teaching assistantship,
which includes a tuition waiver as well as a monthly stipend during the academic
year. Graduate assistants teach undergraduate courses offered as part of the
Spanish language program. Demonstration of native or native-like fluency in
Spanish is necessary prior to appointment.

Students applying for the Ph.D. program should have an M.A. in Hispanic
linguistics, linguistics, or related areas.
