The Good Dude is making sure back to school supplies is plentiful for at-risk youth

Back to school prepping, planning, and shopping has begun. As the Dude family began our back-to-school shopping for our families, we realized in schools, there are so many less fortunate than us who cannot afford back-to-school supplies. To help, SchoolDude and Dude Solution’s Good Dude Program partnered with Haven House Services to help provide much needed school supplies to ensure these students have a great start to the school year.

Haven House Services was founded in 1973 to provide community-based services to at-risk youth and their families right here in SchoolDude’s back yard, Wake County, North Carolina. With the help of the Dude family, SchoolDude raised $1,200 for this fantastic cause! With this, students in need will now have book bags, graphing calculators, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, compasses and more!

We wish our clients (and their students) the best of luck with the start of school – have a great 2016/2017 school year!

A Tribute to Our Friend and Fellow Dude, Tim Mundy

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear friend, Tim Mundy, who was taken unexpectedly from the Dude Solutions family on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. We are extremely saddened to inform you of his passing.

Tim started his journey at the Dude on January 24, 2005, with a thirst for knowledge, zest for life, and a servant's heart. He was the epitome of The Dude from the very beginning, always giving of his time and talents to clients and coworkers unselfishly. He would often preface calls with clients by quipping, "If you can understand a country boy with a country accent, then you'll be okay." With his self-deprecating humor he would tell everyone he was our "Resident Redneck," a term of endearment he heartily embraced. With his favorite saying, "GIT'R-DONE!" and a smile on his face, Tim would indicate readiness to tackle the tasks of the day, exclaim success with a client, or express enthusiasm for accomplishing something he was he was working on with his fellow Dudes.

Tim was a thought leader in inventory management who loved helping countless clients realize savings in a myriad of ways while passing on his knowledge and striving to ensure everyone he worked with was successful. There were few issues that stumped him and even then, he would dive in with his cheerful spirit and begin to figure it out, no task too big.

At SchoolDude University, Tim would lend his musical talents to the Sunday morning church service playing keyboard. He could be counted on to be one of the first to arrive and last to leave the Learning Lab, making sure every client was taken care of no matter what. Tim also knew no strangers; he made you feel like you had known him forever after spending only 5 minutes with him.

Our time with Tim was too short. He was more than a trusted adviser and coworker over the last 11 years. Tim Mundy was our friend and brother, mentor and counselor. We will miss his infectious smile and humor, caring nature, and tremendous work ethic that he blessed us with daily. We will all certainly strive to continue the legacy he built at the Dude and with many of you. As Tomi Phillip from North Slope Borough Schools in Alaska said, "He had our light shining bright on success even during our 24 hour darkness days." Tim will shine brightly in our hearts as we continue the journey. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you Tim, you GOT'R-DONE.
