This means that eventually, you’ll need to upgrade to 64-bit Sage 100, and that means making sure their integrations are compatible. We’re already tracking which integrations are ready for 64-bit, which ones aren’t, and which ones are still a question mark. The good news is that most popular integrations claim to be 64-bit ready. We even have a document that lists them!

But there’s a catch…

Even though an integration might work with 64-bit Sage 100, you might still need to reinstall it after upgrading. Here’s why:

• You can’t run 32-bit and 64-bit Sage 100 on the same machine. So, some of you might be thinking, “I’ll just upgrade my system to 32-bit first, then use the handy conversion tool to switch them to 64-bit.” Sounds easy, right?
• Not so fast! Some integrations need a fresh install after that conversion, even if they’re technically 64-bit compatible. And reinstalling one integration can trigger a domino effect, requiring you to reinstall all of them. Ouch! This can be a simple process or a major headache (and expense) depending on the integration.

What should you do?

• Talk to your ISVs. If you’re planning to use the 32-bit to 64-bit conversion tool, check with every integration vendor to see if their product needs to be reinstalled.
• Consider a server upgrade. In some cases, it might be easier to implement a new server to avoid compatibility headaches with Sage 100 32-bit and 64-bit on the same server ( which reported does not work ).

What is it? A $0.50 fee applied to certain retail deliveries within Minnesota.

When does it apply?

• Transaction total: $100 or more of taxable tangible personal property and clothing (excluding the fee itself and exempt items listed below)
• Location: Delivery within Minnesota

Items Exempt from the Fee:

• Drugs
• Medical devices, accessories, and supplies
• Food, food ingredients, or prepared food
• Certain baby products (some may still be subject to sales tax)

Important Notes:

• Calculation: The $100 threshold ONLY includes charges for taxable tangible personal property and clothing.
• Frequency: Charged once per transaction, regardless of the number of shipments
• Display: Shown as a separate line item on receipts as “Road Improvement and Food Delivery Fee”
• Tax: Not subject to sales tax if stated separately
• Sourcing: Follows Minnesota sourcing rules

Refunds:

• Not refundable: If items are returned or the retailer provides a refund/credit equal to or less than the purchase price.
• Refundable: If the delivery is canceled by the purchaser, retailer, or delivery provider.

Who is exempt?

• Retailers: With less than $1 million in Minnesota retail sales in the prior year. This calculation includes all taxable and nontaxable retail sales, but excludes sales for resale (with a valid exemption certificate).
• Marketplace providers: Facilitating sales for retailers with less than $100,000 in sales through the marketplace in the prior year

Additional Considerations:

• The fee can be collected from the purchaser or paid directly by the retailer.
• Retailers must update their systems to calculate and collect the fee.

1. Manual Miscellaneous Charge: Add a $0.50 charge to applicable orders/invoices.
2. New Sales Tax Code: Automatically calculates the fee when the taxable amount exceeds $100.

4. DSD Extended Solution SO-1052: Automates the addition/removal of the fee based on order criteria.

Before you can purge cleared transactions from the Sage 100 Bank Reconciliation module, ensure the following:

• The “Out of Balance” amount in the Reconcile Bank window is $0.00.
• The “Out of Balance” amount on the Bank Reconciliation Register/Report line is $0.00.

Steps for Sage 100 4.10 – 4.40.0.2

1. Open Bank Reconciliation Register
   • Go to Bank Reconciliation > Main > Bank Reconciliation Register.
2. Set Report Options
   • Deselect the “Summarize Activity” checkbox.
   • Set “Document Types to Print” to “All Types”.
   • Set “Print Cleared Documents” to “All Documents”.
   • Set “Bank Code Operand” to “Equal to”.
   • Select the applicable bank code for “Bank Code Value”.
   • Set “Document Date Operand” to “All”, “Less than”, or “Range”. If using “Range”, leave the first date blank and select an ending date to purge up to that date.

State Copy eFile Due Dates

Take the guessing out of what transmittal form the state requires you to send with your W-2s. Aatrix automatically displays the appropriate transmittal form for each state with the data populated.

Note: These dates refer to eFile deadlines only. If you print and mail your State copies, you may be subject to different filing dates and requirements.

It’s unknown whether these sites are truly authorized Sage resellers or if they are more nefarious and hope to lure in unsuspecting users or consultants.

Some customers report letting the representatives remotely access their servers. Other customers have hung up confused over why the “Sage support” representative didn’t seem to know anything about Sage 100.

In several cases end users of Sage 100 report the imposter Sage representatives weren’t able to resolve the most basic of error messages and instead (incorrectly) diagnosed the company as needing a multi-thousand dollar upgrade.

Customers have fallen for this and paid the fee only to report that the faux support wasn’t able to deliver.

Official Sage Support Numbers – North America

If you need to contact Sage directly you should type in the sage.com domain and follow links on that site to their contact us page. Sage also has a support page on their site which lists all official Sage North America support phone numbers by product line.

Expect that another update may be issued for tax filings ( W2 and 1099 ) as noted in this November 7, 2023 post in the Sage Community – Alert: Payroll and 1099 compatibility for Sage 100 is changing. It is believed that the same v2020+ requirement will exist.

Effective with the release of Payroll 2.24, payroll and 1099 customers on versions 2018 and 2019 will need to be running one of the following versions of Sage 100 to install the latest release of Payroll and 1099 forms:

• 2023.x
• 2022.x
• 2021.x
• 2020.x

Customers not running a compatible version of Sage 100 will experience a failure of the Payroll update installation and the inability to generate 1099’s, W-2’s or associated tax reporting documents.

Please Note:

• There is no need to install Crystal Reports Designer for printing or previewing reports and forms in Sage 100.
  • The Workstation Setup client covers this install, which also facilitates logging into Sage 100, thanks to the included Crystal runtime engine.
• To create or modify Crystal Reports forms and reports, installing Crystal Reports Designer is a must.
  • However, Sage Customer Support doesn’t assist with customizing or troubleshooting these forms and reports.
• Sage 100 install downloads come with a copy of Crystal Reports Designer.
  • Previously, this was provided on installation discs.
  • It’s strongly recommended by Sage Customer Support to use the included copy with your specific version of Sage 100.
    • Copies from other manufacturers might lack specific patches, hotfixes, or compatibility, even if labeled as the same version.
    • Note: Only one version of Crystal Reports can be installed on a machine.
      • If two software products require different versions, a choice has to be made.
• Caution:
  • Avoid using incompatible Crystal Reports versions for creating or modifying reports or forms for Sage 100.
    • Example: Don’t use Crystal Reports 10 for Sage 100 versions 2013 and up; Crystal Reports 2011 should not be used for Sage 100 2018 and up.

This is due to Microsoft ending support for both Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 on October 10, 2023. As noted in the Microsoft support page:

Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 will end on October 10, 2023. After this date, these products will no longer receive security updates, non-security updates, bug fixes, technical support, or online technical content updates. If you cannot upgrade to the next version, you will need to use Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for up to three years. ESUs are available for free in Azure or need to be purchased for on-premises deployments. Microsoft has guidance for both cloud and on-premises solutions.

Sage currently supports Sage 100 running under the following Microsoft server operating systems:

• Windows Server 2022 Standard and Datacenter
• Windows Server 2019 Standard and Datacenter
• Windows Server 2016 Standard

A Cautionary Note About Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise

Sage notes that Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise are not recommended for Sage 100 32-bit due to unresolved issues in the Microsoft Print Server. The suggestion is to use the 64-bit version of Sage 100 under Windows 11 or Windows 10 for Sage 100 32-bit installations.

1. Select Payroll_Setup_Tax Profile Maintenance.
2. Select or create a Tax Profile.
3. Click on Rates and Limits in the top right of the panel.
4. Double-click or highlight the tax with a table rate.
5. Select the icon with the down arrow in the top right of the panel.

The Payroll Tax Table will then be displayed.

Additional features included in the Sage 100 Payroll 2.23.2 update include:

• Sage 100 Payroll 2.23.2 now allows users to mask employee Social Security Numbers and direct deposit information when printing reports.
• Users with the appropriate security setup can still view and print the full Social Security Number and direct deposit information.
• The Tax Table Rate Inquiry button has been added to the Tax Rates and Limits window in Tax Profile Maintenance. This allows users to view detailed tax table rate information.
• Oceania taxes are now supported for Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Palau.

Today, Sage announced they’ve developed a means to pace the impact on customers in batches. The timing of this change means that some customers will now have until March 1, 2024, when Sage expects to complete the TLS changes.

Which Sage 100 versions are already TLS 1.2 compliant?

• 2023.x
• 2022.x
• 2021.x
• 2020.1 (PU1)
• 2019.4 (PU4)
• 2018.10 (PU10)

If you are on one of these releases or higher, your Sage 100 product is already compatible with TLS 1.2 and will not be impacted by this change.

What happens to customers not using a TLS 1.2 compliant version of Sage 100 or Sage 300?

Noncompliant customers will begin receiving warnings beginning with renewals dated October 2023. The notice will say that their product subscription has expired, and they have 45 days to upgrade their product to a TLS 1.2 compliant version before it goes into read-only mode.

How is Sage pacing the impact on customers?

To minimize any business impact, Sage is pacing the TLS 1.0/1.1 deprecation in batches, which they expect to finalize by March 1, 2024. These batches’ timing, size, and allocation are still being determined.

What can customers do to prepare for the TLS 1.2 compliance requirement?

If you use a version of Sage 100 that is not TLS 1.2 compliant, you should contact your Sage partner or reseller to discuss your upgrade options.

We encourage all customers to upgrade to a TLS 1.2 compliant version of Sage 100 as soon as possible to avoid disrupting their business.
