Jordan Mechner’s Prince of Persia, started as a fun computer side scrolling game back in the 80’s.

Now Walt Disney Pictures with Jerry Bruckheimer has transformed the game to the big screen and its coming to theaters May 2010.

The original acrobatic ledge hanging avatar is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, the evil Vizier by Ben Kingsley and the princess by Gemma Arterton.

Plot

Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a street urchin in 6th century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king’s two sons will not fight over the throne. He teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).
