“The Doctor is a Time Lord – a time-traveller from the alien world called Gallifrey who travels in space and time thanks to his TARDIS which looks like a police box, bigger inside than outside. When the Doctor is severely injured or even killed, he will regenerate into a new appearance and body. He is currently in his fifth incarnation (4th regeneration). His thirteenth will be the last.

The Doctor with his companions – currently an australian hostess named Tegan, Hindle ( a previously deranged soldier from a future earth colony ), young irritating genius Adric, alien orphan and technological expert Nyssa and the Sliders – is on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless throughout the whole multiverse of multiple universes. The Doctor’s alteration to the Sliders’ timeline has resulted in multiple changes across various multiverse timelines in hypertime. Fixing these holes is an important task of the Doctor which has been sanctioned by an angel of God called the White Guardian.”

You remember how the Doctor radically changed the history of the Sliders – indeed their timeline was well altered for the better. But since they were travellers who went to various parallel earths, those different universes which they had visited, now were all altered as a result of this. To fix these holes, left in the various timelines of the multiverse, the White Guardian has entrusted the Doctor with the task of making things right. This is the first one. What had happened on this particular parallel earth, before its timeline was altered by both the Doctor’s arrival, as well as Barclay’s Pathfinder beam.
For the reader’s benefit, what happened ON THIS DAY before the previous timeline was changed (or rather wiped out) is presented in italics. It is as if it never happened, now that the Doctor changed the timeline…

“Wow! That was a rough slide, don’t you think!” Remmy said to Colin.
Colin was Quinn’s brother. They had just slid back from another parallel world. Colin was born on the same parallel earth as Quinn was, but unlike Quinn who grew up on “Earth Prime” ie Earth-001, Colin was taken to a rural parallel Earth. He grew to love nature and appreciate its beauty. He grew on a farm. He could see the Creator reflected in his world’s nature. He was always ready to help his friends and to give his life for them. When Quinn found him he had eventually travelled with them, until he got ‘unstuck’ in the Time Continuum, due to a dangerous experiment conducted by a certain Dr Geiger. What a bad timeline this was, Colin thought, while he was ‘unstuck’. He would repeatedly find himself in different worlds for a few seconds, popping in and out of them. Never stopping. Until something happened once, he managed to stay in one of them. And on that world, he met Remmy and the Sliders. But they were not the same Sliders he knew. They were a parallel version, alternates of his friends, who had never met him. It had taken time, but they finally got to trust him.

Colin looked around the street close to the Chandler Hotel. Wistful, he hoped to see his friends. He saw an old parking meter and wondered where it would be when the other Sliders would get here. Probably buried underground, he thought. It would take an archeological excavation to find it.
A war had started in this world’s middle east and quite soon it would arrive at the doorsteps of the Chandler Hotel. Abruptly, most of this world’s civilisation would come to an end. Sadly, Colin and the others would not live to tell their complete story. Their Timer would be found by Colin’s friends in the future.
This world’s Remmy was a hit singer who had accumulated many awards. Some of the locals who knew them were fans of Remmy. Lots of the awards and trophies were kept by some of them, in a special room. Some of the survivors of the war would keep their knowledge of it. Even though Remmy had died, some of them believed that this world’s Remmy had left their world by Sliding and would return one day. This legend came true, when the Remmy Colin knew arrived in this world, many centuries later.

Now, however this timeline did not exist anymore. Things happened differently. Did Colin still end up here? Our Quinn and the others have not yet met Colin. If Colin were to end up here, would they even know him? The answer is no.

Let us go back to our new timeline. In the new timeline, the seas went berserk, due to two approaching planets. Deva Loka was synchronous in orbit with this Earth, and another planet called K was growing closer day by day. Planet K’s interaction was causing havok with the weather and the seas. The middle east war was about to go off, but the bad worldwide weather made everyone think twice before starting it. It was made more difficult.

“Doctor, how can we move a planet?” Nyssa asked.
“Perhaps we could convince world leaders to get loads of nuclear weapons which they were going to use in a war, and get them to fire them at Planet K? You told us it was uninhabited after all.” Tegan wondered.
“Brilliant idea Tegan. But it would not work. Planet K’s mass is too big, and the resulting fragments would rain down on Earth and Deva Loka. We need something better.” the Doctor answered.
“On Deva Loka there was a legend of a Null-Device. Have you heard of it, Hindle?”, the Doctor explained.
Hindle said he had heard of it once. He did not know if it were true or not, of course.
“On to the TARDIS then. We’re off to this Deva Loka next.” the Doctor said.
While the Doctor, Hindle, Tegan and Nyssa entered the TARDIS, the Sliders saw a wormhole open in thin air. “That’s a sliding wormhole!” Quinn exclaimed.
Who could it be? A Kromagg? Another Slider?

“Brother!” Colin appeared from the wormhole and shouted towards Quinn.
“Who are you calling brother?” Quinn asked.

The Doctor convinced everyone to allow Colin to travel with them in the TARDIS. “This is likely to be a temporal paradox. We haven’t met this Colin yet.”
Colin said “I know all of you, Doctor, except that guy there”, pointing towards Hindle.

The whole team left the TARDIS and started searching. They were trying to find the legendary Dev Null Device of Deva Loka. It was rumoured to be located in the wildlands, where they had materialised.
“Some legends say the Dev Null Device does nothing at all, that it’s all a joke” the Doctor said.
“That had better not be the case”, Hindle said.
“Or that it could be a mini black hole, swallowing everything that comes into its grasp” the Doctor continued. “I’m hoping it’s an advanced technological weapon left behind by a long-dead civilisation.”
“Are those inhabitants, Doctor?” Professor Arturo asked.
“They certainly look like it.” Colin said.
“These people are Egyptians!” Wade said.
“They shouldn’t be!” Tegan exclaimed.
“This is a different Deva Loka, just like all the different Earths!” the Doctor explained patiently.
Once the ‘Egyptian’ natives got close, the Doctor waved at them and said: “We come in peace!”
“I am Aponolophis of the Gua! You are humans!” one of them shouted. He was wearing the headgear and clothes of the ancient Pharoahs.
“Oh yes. I am the Doctor and these are my friends. I don’t think you care much who they are, don’t you?” The Doctor had heard of the Gua, but they were different from this Egyptian-like character, so this was the same name but a different race.
“Silence! You have come here as invaders to our world. You are probably the reason why the Einade Planet has moved towards our world.” Aponolophis said.
“Einade Planet. Who is this bufoon?” Professor Arturo said.
“Kill this human insolent!” Aponolophis ordered his guards.
They pointed some kind of staff weapon at Arturo.
“Stop, stop, stop, put down your weapons” the Doctor said.
“Why should I care? Fire, guard!” Aponolophis asked, while the guard fired and instead hit a nearby tree. It was clear that the staff operated similar to a conventional laser.
“Because I am a Time Lord, a Gallifreyan. I possess advanced technical knowledge that you are not aware of. And your planet is currently in danger of being destroyed, as is Earth. It is obvious that your guards here were originally humans from Earth which you captured a long time ago and placed on Deva Loka. You made them your slaves and forced them to worship you as their gods. False worship of course, as you are no god!”
“You insult me, Doctor.” was the reply of Aponolophis. “But your advanced alien knowledge may have its application in my interest. I have some enemies which you could help me defeat.”
“You will let us live then? The others may be of help too.” the Doctor asked.

Aponolophis sensed something different in the Doctor. His muscles tensed. Then he replied “Agreed. For the moment. I know your secret, Doctor. You are an Ancient..”

They were taken to a nearby encampment.

“Ancient?” Arturo asked, looking towards the Doctor. What could this mean?
“He means I’m old, or rather that my race is very old.” the Doctor said, skirting the reply.
The Doctor studied carefully all the surroundings. Quietly, Professor Arturo told the Doctor that he would give his life if it were needed as a distraction for the rest to escape.
“I hope it will not come to that”, the Doctor replied. “This room is made of a malleable material the like of which I have not seen. It seems organic, actually. It actually grows! Let’s see if we can get out of here, using the sonic screwdriver.”
The Doctor operated his sonic screwdriver. “Thankfully I stopped to get a new one after my original one was destroyed at the time of the fire of London!”
The screwdiver had a spectacular effect. The room split in two as if it were torn asunder. It was not exactly the typical door, but it was an exit nevertheless. Perhaps it was the typical Gua door.
“Doctor, could that be the Dev Null device over there?” Adric asked, pointing to an apparatus on a nearby table.
“Indeed it looks like it is”, the Doctor said, examining it carefully. It is a sophisticated device, certainly. It is not a black hole generator. It might be a powerful sliding device generator, like your Timer, but I’m not certain. I think the Gua don’t even know what it is.”
“If it is a powerful enough sliding device we could use it to slide the whole Planet K out of this universe!” Professor Arturo said.
“What slides in must however slide out”, the Doctor pointed out. “You must see where it is going to slide out, in another parallel universe. We cannot put it in the same proximity; the effect would be disastrous. Imagine it sliding out close to a parallel earth.”
“Is there any facility to modify the default location of the other side of the wormhole?” Quinn asked.
“I am afraid that question will remain without an answer”
The voice was that of one of the servants of Aponolophis. The egyptian looking guard held up the staff and pointed it towards the device, ready to destroy it.
Quickly the Doctor took out an enlarging mirror (22nd century specification, nonetheless) from his pocket and put it in front of the device. The guard shot anyway, and the laser beam hit part of the roof material, which started leaking blood immediately, and parts of it, together with lots and lots of reddish blood fell down on the guard, trapping him for the moment. It also opened a breach in the outer wall of the organic building they were in, which meant a new way out.
“That’s our cue”, the Doctor said. “Let’s take the device and escape to the TARDIS. Quickly before they notice we’re gone.”
There were no guards outside at this time, which made it easier for them, obviously. Aponolophis was too proud to even think that his prisoners might escape. But once the guard would report what had happened, he would be sentenced to a sure death.

Inside the TARDIS, the Doctor surveyed the device closely. “Hmmmm.”
“Well Doctor, do you think it is a sliding device or not?” Arturo asked. “I think it is, but it’s not exactly how I’d imagine it to be.”
“Not exactly. It is a time displacement device. It can be used to make everyone go back in time.” the Doctor said.
“Everyone? With your typical time machine, only the users of the device would travel in time. How does it work?” Quinn asked, curious.
“Correct – all the space close to this planet would travel back in time, that includes Earth and Planet K, and it uses the wormhole generation technique and the Einstein-Rosenberg bridge to connect to fixed-point wormholes in another parallel universe. It seems to be drawing its power from a single planet in that universe. This is worrying.” the Doctor said.
“Worrying?” Wade asked.
“First – the tachyonic pulse we discovered earlier was not the sole cause of the Deva Loka time loop. Yes, whoever made this device must have been either a Time Lord like myself – well a renegade one in any case – or a similarly powerful civilisation. You see, the device was made to take the whole world and many other planets in this universe and another one, back in time, presumably to alter the established real timeline of these two universes.” the Doctor said.
“We must not allow this to happen. And a side-effect of this interaction may be just the time loop on our universe’s Deva Loka. That tachyonic beam, whoever sent it, has saved the timeline by restricting the effect of this massive time device to a time loop of around one day! Perhaps the author of the beam does not even know what the effect of it was!” the Doctor went on to say. He did not know that the beam was generated by a certain Barclay in a parallel universe.
“But we must save this world from being destroyed!” Adric said.
“That might be difficult. Our only chance, might lie in this machine.” the Doctor said.
“I get your line of reasoning, Doctor. We alter the machine’s operation to prevent it from being used to alter history, and we make it a sliding device!” Quinn replied.

Back on Earth, the Doctor, Arturo and Quinn finished their alterations on the machine. They rigged the machine to beam a wormhole at Planet K. They waited until it became active ( the Doctor guessed it would be active in a few hours, and he was right ), and Planet K was swallowed by the wormhole, never to be seen again. A black hole in the other universe was chosen as the reverse end of the wormhole, a fitting end for this destructive planet.
“Definitely not a ‘NULL DEVICE’,” Professor Arturo said smiling.
“Now, Colin, I think it’s time for us to leave you on this Earth, while we go to the power source of this device, in another universe. I think we will meet you for the ‘first time’ there, won’t we?”, the Doctor said.
“You are correct, Doctor. You yourself told me – indeed you will soon be telling me when I meet you for the first time – that I was not to tell you anything on what happened here,” Colin explained.
After they said their goodbyes – for the time being to Colin – and promised that they would return to pick him up, they left in the TARDIS, it dematerialised.

“On the TARDIS viewscreen, Doctor, quick! It’s Colin, stranded in the timestream! But who’s that woman next to him?” Tegan said.

Meanwhile, on a parship (Parallel-World Ship) orbiting the planet, Captain Jefferson Archer was getting anxious that his Science Officer had not returned on board. The parship was from the 23rd Century but in this universe time moved more slowly, so it was still 2001 here. It was like they had went back in time, but they hadn’t.
Something must have gone wrong, he deduced. He ordered a scan of the building which his Science Officer was supposed to examine. Before the scan had finished an incoming signal was received.
Suddenly the Sliders, Doctor Who and his companions all beamed on board of the real Parship Enterprise.
Wade said “Wow! This place is even cooler than the virtual version!”
“Virtual version? And who are you?” Archer asked.
“Captain Archer, this is Miss Wade Wells. The four of us here call ourselves the Sliders since we Slide through parallel universes – Mister Rembrandt Brown, Mister Quinn Mallory and myself Professor Maximillian Arturo. This is the Doctor, and his companions: Miss Tegan Jovanka, Mister Adric of Alzarius and Miss Nyssa of Traken. This person is Hindle of the earth military from a parallel universe. We all are from parallel universes, as you can see. We Sliders are from what we call Earth-Prime. The Doctor, Hindle and his companions are from another universe. The Doctor calls it the N-Space universe.”
“I’m from the E-Space universe actually.” Adric pointed out.
“These parallels are headache inducing”, Archer said. “But your story interests me greatly. The Sliders are well known as the inventors of the Sliding Technology hundreds of years ago.”
“Wow, we’re famous here!” Remmy said.
“Fancy that for a change.” Quinn said.
“Yes, the technology is now called ParTravel. Our Federation Starship, or better still ParShip can travel across Parallel Universes.” Archer explained.
“I trust you are all feeling ok after the transmat. I do not trust it much. It is a new technology for us.” Archer told his new guests.
“It’s perfectly safe”, the Doctor commented with a touch of deja’ vu.
“Nothing to worry about”, Justine said.
“What was the building you were in, Justine? Did you find out what the alien energy source was?” Archer enquired.
“A leisure centre where the inhabitants, due to boredom, have been placed into suspended animation. The inhabitants have given up their work as the government was paying them a larger amount than they had ever earned as a salary, and all they had to do was relax in suspended animation, giving their dreams and imagination to a complex shared-reality virtual reality system.” she replied.

The TARDIS is still on its surface, in the building. Could you get a lock on it and beam it aboard the Enterprise?” The Doctor asked Archer.
Archer gave the information on the TARDIS to the technicians who set themselves to the task of locating by precisely triangulating the position of the TARDIS within the building. Fortunately, it was a straightforward task, and the TARDIS was beamed on board the deck of the Enterprise.

“So is this your ship, Doctor?” Archer enquired. “It is, more than a ship, almost a companion. In its own way.”
“Our scans indicated an interesting paradox, Doctor. Inside is definitely bigger than outside, in the TARDIS. Your technology is definitely superior to anything we have encountered, Doctor.”
“Really?” the Doctor humbly replied. He was cautious of Archer. What intentions could he have? The Doctor had trusted the X-Men earlier on, their reputation was well known. But this Archer was not that well known. He was an alternate of another Archer that the Doctor had once met, who was the first Captain of a starship Enterprise in F-Space (Federation Space i.e. the parallel Universe with the original Captain Kirk).

Meanwhile in F-Space, a certain lieutenant Reginald Barclay had just attempted to communicate with the lost Starship Voyager. Illegally, as he had been ordered not to. His idea was seen as too unusual. He sent out a tachyonic pulse through the MIDAS array towards a pulsar, creating a mini-artificial wormhole. He was successfull in communicating with Voyager, and his superiors forgave his infraction, so important was his result. What he did not know, however, was that this same pulse had been split and diverted in two, because the pulsar was a binary pulsar! And the second wormhole which was created, tunnelled into a completely different parallel universe universe because the target location was an imaginary number!

Back in the other universe, aboard the Parship Enterprise, the Doctor was listening to Archer.
“So you say you require a dimensional pinpointer?”
“We would need two actually. One for the TARDIS, and one for the Sliders’ Timer.”
“We’ll give you what you need. Even a new Timer, fresh from production. Your current Timer is not your original one, Quinn.”
“Great! How did you notice our timer is not the original one we started with?” Quinn almost shouted with joy.
“Your current Egyptian timer uses a scarab crystal which is decaying rapidly. It should be replaced soon. It’s better if we give you a more modern Timer.” Archer said.
“There’s one more thing.” Archer continued.
“What’s that” Arturo asked.
“It seems that you have altered quite a bit of history. There has been quite a bit of collateral damage. Your meeting the Doctor has been providential to you, but perhaps not to the other people you would have met” Archer explained.
“I wouldn’t have met anyone. I would be dead, killed by that madman Rickman.” Arturo said, he was starting to get angry.
“It might have been a double of yours.” Archer said. “Or it might be me”, Arturo rebuffed.
“What’s done is done now.” Arturo said.
“No. We must mop up the effected universes. Go where you would have gone. Another thing. Wade, remember when on the X-Men’s Earth-616 you had an alien implant, well a Kromagg one, embedded in your skull and I removed it from you.”
“The Kromaggs had implanted it when they had captured us.”
“Aliens captured you? You must have had very interesting adventures before meeting us, then”, Tegan said.
“Sure did.” Wade replied.
“This will have changed the timeline, in that many worlds you went to in the other timeline were all tracked by the Kromaggs, but not in this one. Our position is stronger now.” Archer said.
Justine interrupted and said “Captain, I have determined how the centre’s power source works. It is based on a tachyonic flow whose wave polarity is reversed.”
“It’s put out of phase then.”, the Doctor commented.
“An entire race, the reetwo’s were all like that”, Archer said.
“All of them invisible”, the Doctor said. “Could the local technology have been augmented by the reetwos?”
“They hate humans” Archer said.
“Perhaps this was the best alternative to getting rid of humans.”
“We shall have to reinvestigate this dimension later on. Could the reetwos have entered this parallel universe however?” Archer asked.
“Do they Slide?” Quinn asked.
“We don’t know that they can.” Justine said.
“The modifications to our timer are ready – basically the crystal has been replaced, and Archer has given us a new Timer.”, Quinn noted.

Suddenly the White Guardian appeared out of nowhere and said:
“I am the White Guardian, an angel of God who has helped the Doctor, and been helped by him in the past. The leisure centre world you went to, was one of the worlds visited by the ‘other’ Sliders who would have been if Arturo would have died. So now it has not been visited by ‘them’, but by all of you instead. The matter is very urgent Doctor… You must take the Sliders to the worlds they would have visited, to make things right. The Sliders will increase in number, becoming Seven. Connect the Sliders’ new Timer to your TARDIS to improve its dimensional travelling precision. I have provided them a list of dimensional frequencies which are the worlds you have to go to. I must leave you now before the Black Guardian finds out…” and he promptly disappeared.

“Seven Sliders?” Quinn was surprised.
“The others will be those who would have taken your place, Arturo and the place of some others of you who would have died eventually.” the Doctor explained. “Wade for instance would have been most likely captured by the Kromaggs.
What can you tell me about the Kromaggs? They do not exist in my universe.” “The Kromaggs, Doctor, are a very dangerous race. An evolved form of Cro-Magnons.” Quinn said.
“They are your cousins, so to speak.” the Doctor said.
“These cousins are obliterating whole parallel earths!” Quinn replied.

LATER…
Everyone said their goodbyes. The Enterprise was due on another assignment, and as a result, the Doctor, his companions and the Sliders left in the newly equipped TARDIS.
“We should go to the first destination on the list.” the Doctor said.
“But, Doctor, couldn’t you go to Deva Loka first. I remind you, it’s stuck in a time loop!” Hindle commented.
“True. We can go there now then. Deva Loka-777 it is then!” the Doctor replied and set the navigational controls.

The TARDIS arrived at its destination.
“This does not look like Deva Loka to me.” Hindle said.
“I’m afraid the TARDIS has a mind of its own at times. This is also the wrong parallel universe. We are on Earth-2001.”, the Doctor said.
“It seems this is the Chandler Hotel from the iron plates on the walls. We used to find ourselves in the Dominion Hotel before…” Quinn remarked.
“But we are in 1691. The technology of this world is greatly accelerated.” the Doctor pointed out. “Your alternates would not have been in this time period according to the frequency list, however for some reason the TARDIS has brought us in this time period and on this parallel earth instead of the planet Deva Loka in our universe.”
“There must be a connection between the places, Doctor!” Nyssa said in a convinced voice.
“Indeed there is. This earth is in synchronous orbit with this universe’s planet Deva Loka. And this Deva Loka is located in the solar system. It has advanced the world’s technological development, somehow.” the Doctor explained after analysing more sensor data which came in.
“This is unusual.” Nyssa said.
“What is?” Quinn asked.
“Can we go out?” Remmy asked. “I’d like to see this world.”
“Wait. A tachyonic beam emerging from an artificially created mini-wormhole is hitting another planet in this solar system.” the Doctor replied.
“Ah. That explains everything. Can you use normal-speak, please?” Remmy said sarcastically.
“A mini-wormhole has been created artificially, much like the ones created by your Timer. Actually it will be created hundreds of years from now. Only this wormhole is emitting a Starfleet-issue tachyonic particle pulse. Tachyons are minute subatomic particles which have to do with time travel usually. Its effect goes back to this present time on this world. It might even have altered the flow of time on this world,as there are many traces of tachyons on this world.
Now it is striking another planet, which does not exist in our time in the other universes we know of, let’s call it Planet K.” the Doctor explained.
“So the planet K will have it’s orbit altered as a result.” Arturo explained.
“The problem is its new path will bring it very close to earth and Deva Loka.” the Doctor was very upset. “Tachyonic traces on this Deva Loka might have subtly affected the Deva Loka of our universe, also. Parallel worlds are interconnected tachyonically. It is likely to be the real cause of the time loop being experienced in our universe’s Deva Loka.”
“Finally, what will happen is that this earth will be destroyed completely, all life will be wiped out, similar to what happened to the dinosaurs!”
“The news reports indicate that the seas are going crazy, even the weather.” Wade said.
“How much time do we have to save this world, Doctor?” Nyssa asked.
“I’d say a week.” the Doctor replied.

Earth-2001

A long time ago, on a parallel earth, boredom lead the inhabitants to build more and more leisure centres. The most advanced technology was used in these centres so that the visitors to the centres could relax. Many people gladly gave up their work as the government was paying them a larger amount than they had ever earned as a salary, and all they had to do was relax, in these centres.

At a particular leisure centre in Britain, a humming noise could be heard. Suddenly the particles of the air at one corner of a storage room began shimmering, until a form was apparent. It was the form of a Police Call Box. The TARDIS had materialised in the storage room.

“Doctor, where are we?”, Quinn asked.
“This could hardly be Deva Loka”, Tegan interjected.
“You know, Doctor, at times this TARDIS does not seem to work as it should.” Hindle told the Doctor.
“That’s enough. Hindle. Need I remind everyone how you almost blew Deva Loka up when we were there? This is Earth, 21st Century, it is the year 2001. We have left the parallel universes of the X-Men, I call that X-Space for convenience. This is still not our universe.” the Doctor said.
“This looks like a storage compartment to me. Perhaps we will have an Odyssey, or a Travesty in 2001. I still have not completely gotten over the fact that I was going to be killed by that madman Rickman.” Professor Arturo said.

“Well let’s get out and see where we are.” the Doctor said while he operated the TARDIS door controls.

“Hmm… Interesting. This is a leisure centre, apparently.” The Doctor commented, having opened the closet where the TARDIS rested. “Not too many people around” Remmy said.
“Doctor, is your universe, our universe?” Quinn asked the Doctor. “That is, is our Earth-Prime your Earth?”
The Doctor calmly explained that this was not the case, most probably. “I think you are right Doctor. By the way, did I tell you that there is a tv show on our world about your adventures?” Quinn replied.
“I wonder who gets to play my part”, Tegan asked.
“Janet Fielding, if I’m not mistaken”, Quinn replied.

Outside, Arturo noted that the room did not have any doors or other exits but it lead straight out into a corridor. There was only the storage closet and some strange looking chairs in this room.
“These chairs look inviting” Adric said.
“But they might be dangerous” said the Professor.
“We’ve seen killer tv’s, and worse on our Slides”, Remmy added.
“Nonsense. I can recognise a good chair” Adric mumbled while sitting down. Wade did the same.

Wade and Adric’s world went suddenly dark. They found themselves in a futuristic setting.
“We’re back in E-Space! This is Alzarius, close to the Terradonian liner! It’s mistfall.” Adric exclaimed.

“Let’s enter the cave before the swamp monsters, the Marshmen, get us!” Adric got Wade to follow him into the cave.
“Wade, quickly – let’s stop the Marsh Spiders before they bite and take over Romana! Romana is Gallifreyan like the Doctor. We’ve got a chance to make things differently, apparently, and I don’t want to lose this chance to see that my brother Varsh does not die!” Adric was almost in tears. Explaining all this hurt him terribly.
“How did we get here?” Wade asked Adric.
“I don’t know – quickly!” Adric shouted.
One of the fruits on the ground started breaking up. One of the Marsh Spiders crawled out towards Romana.
“Romana – get away!” Adric shouted.
Romana ignored Adric and the Spider bit her. While she screamed the scene changed again.
Varsh (not the TNG Varsh!) was Adric’s brother, three and a half years older than him. Their parents died in forest fires years many ago. Adric was just one year old. What a void the death of Varsh had left in Adric’s life. Varsh had left the Starliner community to become an Outler. He became their leader.
There he was, Varsh, attempting to stop the Marshmen who were attacking the Starliner.
Now it would be different. Adric wanted to change history. All the theoretical risks involved did not count. All that mattered then was Varsh.

Varsh and Adric were attempting to drive the Marshmen into the Starliner’s corridors, with the oxygen cylinders. Now Wade was there. They met Login and some other citizens who were seeking the Fourth Doctor. While they passed through the boarding area, however, more Marshmen came out of the ventilation ducts and Adric and Varsh held them off, while the citizens fled.
Adric started running out of his oxygen. His cylinder was almost out of air.
What should he do now? He knew that he had to get more oxygen from the Science Unit or he would die himself. He decided to go, and get another cylinder to give it to Varsh, as his cylinder would terminate its supply soon.
But it was too late, once more! Varsh remained to close the bulkhead while the rest, include Wade, got to safety. By the time Wade and Adric raise the bulkhead once more, the Marshmen have left but his brother is dead once more. Again, Keara gives Varsh’s marsh reed belt, the symbol of the Outlers to Adric, who complains that it is not fair.
“Why did I have to go through this again?”
Suddenly the scene changed again to the one in the cave.
“What’s going on?” Adric asked Wade.
“Don’t ask me. It’s your history after all.” Wade replied.
The scene with Romana repeated itself and suddenly the scene with Adric’s brother Varsh was repeated again. Once more Adric did not manage to save his brother from dying.
“Why, Why, Why?” Adric started to ask.
“Could it be the Master again?” Adric was thinking aloud.
Wade was even more confused.

Meanwhile, the Professor was getting worried. How on touching the chair, both Wade and Adric could have simply disappeared? It was beyond belief! The Doctor explained that clearly an advanced technology was being used, perhaps a transmat device.
“That makes things clearer”, Arturo said, rather unnerved by the technobabble.
“Doctor, could that small box-like device underneath the chair have anything to do with this, trans-matte ?” Arturo asked, almost casually.
“Indeed, it looks like a porta-transmat, a portable matter transporter.” the Doctor replied.
“You mean a device to transmit matter from one location to another?” Remmy asked.
“Of course, just like your Timer, but within the same universe and not very far away.” the Doctor answered. “We should trace the signal.”
“That should lead us to Adric and Wade.” Nyssa explained.

Suddenly a blonde woman enters the corridor and sees the Doctor, the Sliders (except Wade), Hindle, Tegan and Nyssa. “Hello, are you new here”, she asked.
“Yes, indeed, you can say so” the Doctor replied.
“My name is Professor Justine Robson. What’s yours?”
“I’m called the Doctor, and these are my companions Tegan, Nyssa, Hindle, Professor Arturo, Quinn and Remmy. Adric and Wade have just… disappeared.”
“I’m the science officer of the Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise.” she replied. “I have reason to believe an alien energy source has been set up on this planet for unknown reasons. Since this planet is in Federation space we have been sent to investigate.”
“The Enterprise D?” the Doctor was intrigued. “How is it in this universe?” he thought. So he said “Is Jean-Luc Picard your Captain?”.
“No. The Captain is Jefferson Archer. He used to be the British governor on Earth.”
“Strange. So it’s not the Enterprise D we met in the past. Are you from this universe?” the Doctor asked.
“If you mean are we from a parallel quantum dimension, we are.” she replied.
“So this cannot be Federation Space.” Arturo started to suspect that she was not telling the whole story.
“What do you mean”, Tegan asked.
“Well, if this is Federation space then her Federation would be from this universe. It’s so simple!” Quinn exclaimed.
“Simple to you, Q-Ball!” Remmy said.
“She’s really from a parallel universe, probably from ours” the Doctor pointed to Tegan and Nyssa. “This indicates the Federation is attempting to claim this planet for themselves, to stake its claim so to speak.”
“This is not a very nice Federation”, Remmy chucked.
“The Federation across the parallel universes varies greatly. In one, they are simply rebels against a villanous Alliance.” the Doctor added.
“Our Enterprise is a Parallel-Universe explorer-ship. We have passed through parallel universes and arrived at this one.” Justine said.
“Cool! They basically just slide like we do, only with a ‘slideship’!” Quinn was enthusiastic on the idea and was wondering whether they would get a chance to see this ship.
“Back to our matter in hand. We need to find out where Adric and Wade are. They could be in the vicinity, I hope.” Nyssa said.
“Run a tricorder scan for us, will you?” the Doctor said, looking towards Justine. She opened her tricorder and examined its readings carefully.
“There are no discernible lifesigns except for some trace signals which could be beings in suspended animation. There are other energy emissions in their vicinity.” she replied.
“Let’s go there quickly” the Doctor said while rushing quickly in the direction pointed to by Justine. Running along the long corridor with the others barely keeping up with him, he finally reached the entrance to a green room.
The Doctor and the others entered the room. It was very bare at first sight but there was no time to look around. Suddenly some gas flooded the room and everything went dark.

“Where is this place?” Remmy asked.
“I can answer that question. It’s Traken, we’re on my homeworld!” Nyssa replied.
“Ah, there’s the Doctor, but he’s in the Keeper’s chamber!” Nyssa recalls that this event has already occurred.
“The Doctor? That guy doesn’t resemble him.” Remmy remarked.
“He’s the Fourth Doctor, our Doctor’s previous regeneration. But Traken was destroyed, so how can we be here? We must have gone back in time! This means I can prevent my father from dying.”
“Adric’s here!” Remmy exclaimed. “We’ve been looking for you!”
“Looking for me? Who are you?” Adric continued as if nothing had happened, he looked towards the Doctor. The Doctor called out the last three digits of the Sanction code to Adric. Adric was just able to enter two digits before the a raging wind blew him away from the console. The Doctor pushed his way out of the chamber, struggled towards the console and entered the last digit. As a result the evil Melkur was banished.
The Doctor bid Tremas, Nyssa’s father quite an abrupt goodbye. He looks at Adric and they both return to the TARDIS. Nyssa looks at Remmy and tells him that now she had left from the sanctum at this point while her father was killed by the Master. She decided to stay behind this time, hoping to make a difference. But, unfortunately, it is not that easy. Promptly, a grandfather clock was visible at a nearby alcove. Nyssa’s father, Tremas, entered the alcove and in a split second , the Master emerged from the clock and merged with Tremas, killing the latter as a result. Suddenly Nyssa entered and saw what had happened and screamed her lungs out.

When she stopped screaming, she noticed that the scene had repeated itself.
She was back inside, watching the Doctor appear in the Keeper’s chamber.
Remmy asked Nyssa, “what’s going on? Why is this scene repeating itself?”
“I don’t know. I’m confused. Perhaps it’s a time loop like what Hindle told us about Deva Loka.
“Or perhaps reality’s gone crazy. Oh this is weirder than our sliding!” Remmy said.

“Where have we ended up now?” Professor Arturo asked the Doctor.
“I don’t know. It does not look anything like I’ve seen.” the Doctor replied.
“Now I know – we are in the hospital I was in when my wife was about to die from an aneurism. I am not amused by these manipulations.” Arturo said.
“That happened before you started sliding, I take it?”
“Indeed. I met her again, or a parallel version of her once (EGGHEADS), but on her world she was filing for divorce. My alternate on that world was missing, perhaps he managed to Slide with the alternate Quinn. Have we travelled back in time?”
“We have NOT.” the Doctor was sure of that.
“Then what on earth is this?”
“This is a large holographic deception.” the Doctor clarified.
“Very elaborate, feeding on our memories.”
“It’s enough.” the Doctor said. “Computer, stop program. HALT program.”
“It doesn’t work, Doctor.” Arturo was getting bothered by this.
“It works on some holodecks and holosuites I’ve seen.”
“Well certainly not in this Leisure Centre”. The voice who said this was unusual.
“Who spoke?” Arturo said.
“I did!” said a strange looking fellow. He introduced himself as Mr. Brittas, head of the leisure centre they were in.
“Welcome to the world’s most advanced Holo Leisure Centre, Whitbury Leisure Centre in Britain. Our world’s citizens got bored and went offline from real life, and online to our holoworlds. They relax in our worlds.” Mr. Brittas explained.
“What are those people, like zombies?” the Doctor asked, pointing towards a screen showing a street.
“Oh, those people are in our virtual realities, on that screen you are seeing their bodies in real life.” Mr. Brittas said, casually.
“That’s enough. Wake them all up.” the Doctor said.
“What? Of course not. They are happy this way, relaxing in this Leisure Centre.” Mr. Brittas exclaimed.
“If you will not wake them, we will”, Arturo exclaimed.
“That is enough. You intruders are cheeky.” Mr. Brittas was not amused at this turn of events.
“Are you a hologram, then?” the Doctor asked.
“Course not. I am the Keeper of the Leisure Centre.” Brittas replied quite snappily.
The Doctor got out a small kit from his pocket.
“I will not allow you to use that cryogenic kit, of course.” Mr. Brittas exclaimed.
“I am not *that* stupid.” He commented.
“Of course.” the Doctor said.
“Where are Nyssa, Remmy, Wade and Adric?” Arturo asked.
“They are outside, in the street.” Mr. Brittas said angrily.
“Like the other ‘zombies’, then” the Doctor commented.
“They are enjoying recreation” Mr. Brittas pointed out.
“Recreation for *you*!” the Doctor said. “Where do you get the energy to sustain this centre?”
“Partially from the sun, through the use of solar panels.”
“That couldn’t be enough!” Arturo pointed out.
“So what is it then?” the Doctor kept forcing Mr. Brittas to say the truth.
Mr. Brittas was silent.
“You feed upon the memories of the people in the complex!” the Doctor said. “You’re an energy vampire of sorts and you’re feeding on our minds also!”
Arturo suddenly understood what was going on. All those people, but also Nyssa, Remmy, Wade, Adric and the rest of them, including Arturo himself and the Doctor were currently ‘walking’ like those zombies.
“Most people are ‘walking’ outside, but we are still walking in the corridor, then.” the Doctor reasoned. Only Wade and Adric are somewhere else. Possibly they are outside. We have to wake ourselves out of this ‘virtual reality’ to be able to do anything.”
“You will not!” Mr. Brittas said.
“Will! Incompetent!” Arturo said. “Perhaps I could outsmart him with logic?” Arturo asked the Doctor whispering.
“It does not work that way. We don’t know he is an automaton. He could be a living being.” the Doctor said. “Our priority is to wake ourselves up. But we cannot do this.”
“What?” Professor Arturo was getting angry at the developments. “We are trapped?”
“I’d say you should enjoy your stay”, Mr. Brittas said.
“We need to talk to your superiors.” the Doctor told Mr Brittas.
“That cannot be arranged. My superiors are not in contact somehow.”
“They are all in suspended animation, or dead!” Arturo was getting restless.
“Give us an interface to the outside computer network.” the Doctor tried convincing Mr. Brittas.
“What do you need that for?” he was asked.
“I need to download a new game. Very recreational.”
“Think I would fall for that one?” Mr. Brittas sneered and disappeared.
After a while, the Doctor saw something which looked like a data port. A minor item, which Mr. Brittas nevertheless had forgotten. He would be able to use it to send a communications signal outside of the “virtual reality”, but who would receive it? “Yes, I know who can receive it.”

Meanwhile, on a parship (Parallel-World Ship) orbiting the planet, Captain Jefferson Archer was getting anxious that his Science Officer had not returned on board. Something must have gone wrong, he deduced. He ordered a scan of the building which his Science Officer was supposed to examine. Meanwhile the Comms Officer reported a communications signal.
“Origin?” – Archer asked.
“The leisure centre building on the planet”.
“Lock onto the signal and transmat them all onboard!”

The Doctor and all the others were suddenly transported onboard the parship.
Wade said “Wow! This place is cool!”
“And are you, Captain Kirk, now?” Professor Arturo asked.
“Who’s Kirk?” Adric asked Tegan. “A tv character from a show called Star Trek”
“Ah. That figures.”
“I’m Captain Jefferson Archer of the Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise. Our ship is also a parship as it can travel across Parallel Worlds.”
“So the ship SLIDES?” Quinn was astonished and interested.
“Yes, of course. You are referring to Sliding Technology; in fact we use a development of that technology, which we call ParTravel”, the Captain replied.
“You are all safe and sound hopefully, from the transmat. I still don’t trust it myself as it’s still new.” Archer told his new guests.
“It’s perfectly safe”, the Doctor commented.
“Nothing to worry about”, Justine said.
“What was the building you were in, Justine? Did you find out what the alien energy source was?” Archer enquired.
“A leisure centre where the inhabitants, due to boredom, have been placed into suspended animation. The inhabitants have given up their work as the government was paying them a larger amount than they had ever earned as a salary, and all they had to do was relax in suspended animation, giving their dreams and imagination to a complex shared-reality virtual reality system.” she replied.
“We could build better holodecks if we could get that technology.” Archer said. “Perhaps you could go back and put yourselves in the virtual reality. I’m sure you could find a way to get Mr. Brittas to wake you up again.”
“Who mentioned Mr. Brittas to you”, Quinn pointed out.
“You did”, Archer replied.
“I did not!” Quinn abruptly.
“WE did not” the Doctor confirmed.
Suddenly Tegan went up to Archer. “Who are you really, Mister” she started raising her voice.
“Now Tegan, calm down” the Doctor said.
She tugged at Archer’s hair.
“What on earth are you doing, Tegan?” shouted Justine. “Have you gone crazy!”
Finally Tegan managed to remove what was really a wig.
Archer’s face changed to reveal.. Mr. Brittas!
“We’re really still in the leisure centre”, the Doctor said.
Mr. Brittas was not there however.
“We must find a way out ourselves!” the Doctor said. “Follow me”
He started rushing through the “Parship” corridors, Tegan, Justine, Adric, Nyssa, Hindle, Quinn and the other Sliders followed him.
They saw “officers” of this “ship”, but the “officers” were obviously the residents and employees of the leisure centre.

“That’s an exit portal!” the Doctor said, pointing towards a door.
“An ordinary door?” Adric was puzzled. “How could that be?”
“Many times ordinary doors are used as exit points for virtual realities”, Nyssa explained.
The group left the virtual reality by exiting through the door, and many of the residents followed them.
They all found themselves outside.
“We were told the world was too polluted and that we should stay here”, one of the residents said. “We were tricked by Brittas.”
“Indeed. As you can see, it’s a nice day outside.” the Doctor said.
“Are we really outside now?” Wade asked.
“Definitely… Look!” the Doctor pointed at a desperate Brittas, who had by now lost all his control of the residents and employees.
“You have ruined everything, everything! Go away!” Mr. Brittas told the Doctor while tearing up his hair.

“So your ship travels through parallel dimensions?” Quinn asked Justine.
“It does.”
The Doctor asked Justine if she could give them a dimensional pinpointer, to help find Quinn’s home universe.
“Yes, sure I can” Justine said.
“Great!” Quinn exclaimed “Finally we will be able to return home.”
“Let’s beam onto the Enterprise.” Justine touched her comm-button and said “10 to beam-up.” The Doctor said “Wait.. the TARD….” Suddenly in a twirling blue light, all of them disappeared into thin air.
The Doctor’s TARDIS could travel through parallel universes but there was a certain lack of precision involved in this travel. They had left behind the TARDIS.

In the TOS novel Ishmael by Barbara Hambly, the Second Doctor and companions make a cameo
appearance. Quoting a USENET posting from 2001:

Correct. The Second Doctor appears in the San Francisco saloon in 1869.
Unfortunately I don't have my copy to hand for the page numbers.
Additionally, during the 23rd century scenes, while Kirk and the base
commander are trying to locate Spock, the Time Lords are mentioned as a
mythical time-travelling civilization in the "galaxy of Kasteroborous [sic]".

Well DW as been mentioned in Trek as early as season one one the The
Next Generation. I think the episode was called The Neutral Zone. It's
the one where thy find and revive the frozen bodies from the 20th
Century. When Deanna helps the woman locate her faily descendants then
names that appear on the computer screen are supposed to be of the
first six actors that played the Doctor.

Well the Cybermen... sorry I mean the Borg were introduced in the
episode called Q Who.
As I understand it, they were originally supposed to be introduced in
The Neutral Zone episode but there was a problem. That would have
meant two Doctor Who connections in the same episode. It's easy to see
that there was a DW fan at work on TNG during the easy seasons.

On a side note, I believe there were also Man From UNCLE references in
Deep Space Nine, something to do with the money used in Quarks Bar.

There have been a few Who references in the Star Trek novels over the years.

Diane Duane had Kirk watch a 3D holographic recreation of a Tom Baker
episode in MY ENEMY, MY ALLY.  (Curiously, the scene Kirk watches doesn't
match with anything from the Baker era.)

Barbara Hambly's ISHMAEL has a cameo appearance by the second Doctor.

The Cybermen (dubbed by Janeway the "Mondasians") appear in the short
story "Ambassador at Large," published in the Star Trek anthology, STRANGE
NEW WORLDS I.

And let's not forget the two appearances of the Sontarans in Voyager's later
seasons.

In "Future Tense", they find a ship floating in space,
that turns out to be from the future.

Trip and Reed finds out, that the ship is bigger on
the inside then on the outside, and that it has several

Trip theorizes, that the Spacial geometry for the vessel
is different from normal spacial geometry.

My question is:
With a ship the size of a shuttle weighing fx 5 metric tons,
contains more than 3+ decks, wouldn't the mass of the
ship be greater than 5 tons?

About Gallifrey's non-existence / destruction in the tAC (the Ancestor Cell) book:
It's cool that what the BBC books writers have done with the 8th Doctor's
timeline (they've changed it, the whole whoniverse, the Doc still went
through his past but doesn't remember). Though it reminds me of how I
altered the Sliders' timeline thanks to the Doctor himself!

For the Dr Who Timeline Related to this Fanfic . It occurs soon after the final episodes of the 4th series of the new Dr Who show.
For the Stargate Timeline, it happens after Stargate Atlantis 4×3 and the Stargate Continuum movie (and AlphaGate 1).

“The IOA (International Oversight Advisory) has set up a top secret base on the moon powered by a ZPM (Zero-Point Module) – an ancient power source. Stargate Command has commissioned special crafts called Eagles and a Stargate – a ring-like device created by the Ancients able to send people through a wormhole – but one without a protective iris. A separate section on the moon houses a super-hadron collider. A mysterious device in the catacombs of the moon has just been activated.”

A communication was opened via the Stargate, so Daniel could talk to the newly promoted Colonel Sam Carter on the Ancients’ space travelling city-ship Atlantis, in the Pegasus Galaxy.
“Hello Daniel! How are you? Give my regards to Alan – my cousin!”
“I think we may have activated some ancient device in the catacombs on the moon. I’d like your help, Sam, to try to understand what it may be”, Daniel asked.
“Your description makes it sound like some hyperdrive device tested by the ancients. But different from the ones we have seen before” Sam answered
“Oh no. I hope it isn’t. We may well find ourselves in trouble”, Daniel said as the connection started to get interrupted.
Suddenly everything seemed to go hazy around Daniel and everywhere else on the moon. From earth’s point of view, the moon simply… vanished! Earthquakes started to be felt due to the sudden lack of the moon’s pull on the earth.
Koenig insisted he was in charge of the military and it was imperative to find a habitable planet to settle upon like the one the sensors had picked up.
“But we might find a way back”, Daniel said, “Lets not hurry”.

“The chance might be lost” Koenig noted.”I’m in command here”, Daniel insisted.
He conceded that a brief exploration might be in order so a couple of Eagles with Koenig in charge of them were dispatched to the planet’s surface. The Eagles were re-engineered cargo crafts armed with two staff cannons – colloquially called laser turrets by everyone on Alpha. The staff cannons meant there was no space for a cloaking device on board unfortunately. The crafts were derived from the Tel’taks used by the Goa’uld. It was being planned to add extra technology to them, based on Asgard technology, before BreakAway happened. The reason they used the Eagles rather than just gate to the planet below using the Stargate was that this planet didn not have a Stargate, so they had no other choice.
Back at Stargate Command, General Landry was overseeing the efforts in trying to determine what had happened to the moon and to find whether it still existed or not. Both Colonel Carter and Rodney McKay from the Atlantis base were sent to earth to help the best minds on earth who were attempting to do the impossible. Due to the moon’s disappearance there had been some initial earthquakes and even an asian tsunami. The world had been shocked, yet this phenomenon had been explained by various theories, including spontaneous wormhole generation. Anything that would help people cope with the situation. Lovers all over the world missed the moon…

Mists swirled across the alien planet they had called affectionately Terra Nova. The Eagles began to touch down near some woods and the away team started to explore the area. Meanwhile everyone on Alpha in Main Mission was watching this landing.
Daniel communicated with Koenig on his mobile, asking whether they had seen any signs of life.
Suddenly there was some lightning and all contact was lost with the Away team and their Eagles.
Alpha went on Red Alert status, as ordered by Daniel. Something had happened to those men.
Another Eagle was sent with Dr Helena Russell and Daniel Jackson himself on board. They landed and retrieved the men – who were unconscious still – and the Eagles of the first away team.
They found another man with the away team – who was presumed dead for five years. This man was the late husband of Dr Helena Russell. How he got on this planet was anybody’s idea. He had been a member of a Stargate team for some time until he was presumed dead on an off-world mission, but not on this world.
Back on Moonbase Alpha, the unconscious men were all taken to sickbay, and taken care of. All men had a monitor which indicated their condition.
Helena explained to Koenig about how she had gotten to know about her husband’s involvement in Stargate Command. Koenig knew how that mission had gone wrong. It was radiation in the pel’tak, which is the bridge of a Ha’tak mothership which SG-6 had taken control of, that had killed him and others from the SG-6 team at the time. It had gone horribly wrong. They were in orbit around the planet P5X-4847 and that world was millions of miles away. The moon was in orbit around the alien world. Meanwhile, the instruments were indicating Dr Russell’s husband Lee had no brain activity at all.

Dr Daniel Jackson held a meeting in the board room, to discuss the current situation. Sandra Benes, communications officer I, said there was still time to continue with Project Exodus and evacuate Alpha completely. Even Paul Morrow, chief communications officer, agreed with her. Jackson disagreed, as did Koenig. Victor would decide later. He looked at some blood samples from Lee and was puzzled.
Nothing was unusual.
Daniel explained also how the Stargate was not operating normally. Something was interfering with its normal operation, it could not dial out at all. Perhaps the “gate address” for this location, Terra Nova, was “blocked out” from the Stargate network for some reason which only the Ancients who were the gate-builders knew…
After some time, Lee woke up and was talking to Helena. At first all he could say was “Hell-en-ah”. She explained how the moon had broken away from earth lately and their present location. Suddenly lightning came out of Lee and hit Helena. She passed out straight away.
After some more tests, it was clear to Victor that Lee had no body heat. And a few minutes later, he had body heat once more. His body changed from dead to alive again in a few minutes. Victor was thinking that Lee had drained some of Helena’s lifeforce to do this process.
While Victor, Daniel and Koenig were discussing this, Lee attacked the guard outside sickbay and escaped.
Soon he was arrested again, and was taken to Dr Jackson’s office.

After some further investigation, Victor discovers by analysing Lee’s body’s electromagnetic fields, that Lee’s body contains minute amounts of antimatter – antiprotons. “It’s decaying in moments, but more is getting created every few seconds”, Victor explained to Daniel and Koenig.
“Wouldn’t Lee explode if he had anti-matter within him?” Koenig asked.
“No, there’s only enough antimatter to turn on a light bulb”, Victor answered.

Lee told Daniel Jackson, “All the cosmos is yours but not this world. That is what aliens want you to know.”
“Why should we even take care of what you are saying?” Koenig commented “We should just commence Project Exodus..”
“No do not land on the planet. It is a gateway to the antimatter universe. You would all be destroyed.” Lee answered back.
“I think we should study the situation further before proceeding”, Victor said.
“Indeed we should not.” Commissioner Simmonds said as he entered Dr Daniel Jackson’s office. “Let’s just send another away team and we will see what happens.”
“I really disagree. There is something unusual on that world, we shouldn’t have found Lee there anyway. We must complete a full analysis of his body, too, before proceeding.” Daniel replied.
“I’m the highest ranking official here, so I will decide. We send another away team.” Simmonds barked.. He would have his way then.

Later on, Helena was speaking to Lee in sickbay. He was sad that it had come to this. He really was sorry. Things would go back for the away year, he said. It was difficult for Helena. He had been dead, so she had believed, and now he was back in her life. But was this Lee or what… The body changes which were visible in the scans they had done had amazed all of them. He was not a normal human any more. But he still was Lee, her husband.
“I had died, Helena. I was in a beautiful place. Full of light and colour. Then something happened. I was sent back. The aliens – the Tesseracts – had reconstructed me. Though not completely human as I was before. I have some amounts of anti-matter within me. I die every now and then and burst out anti-matter. I’m not safe here. I may destroy your systems. Please allow me to go back to the planet. I will have to live my life there, Helena.”
So the new away team landed on the planet Terra Nova, together with Lee. Daniel Jackson had insisted he be allowed to go. Soon after the Eagle started to have electrical failures. The team began to detect various neutrino and other anti-matter emissions from the planet. While they were discussing this, earthquakes started to be felt and everything started to fall apart. The cockpit console was burning and contact was lost with Alpha.
Alpha detected various explosions on the surface and soon, the away team and their Eagle were no more.
“The explosions are increasing in intensity. Soon they will reach Alpha and we will explode too.” Victor explained to Dr Jackson and Koenig.
“There is only one thing we can do. It’s not safe to evacuate Alpha using our Eagles, we will end up exploding too. As the Stargate is still not working, We must try to reactivate the hyperspace device. Koenig, go and reactivate it”, Daniel said.
So Koenig quickly took the travel tube to the catacombs area. He went and touched the hyperspace device which had been left behind by the Ancients. Suddenly all went hazy throughout the moonbase, and the moon disappeared from its present space. When it reappeared elsewhere, it was somewhere plain dark – with no stars around.
Helena thought, this was it then. Lee was really dead now. But where was this place, with no stars, just a nothingness or complete void. The Stargate aboard Moonbase Alpha was not working at all, even here. Where did they end up?
