Club Car Announces Street Legal LSV

A zero-emission low speed vehicle (LSV) will begin shipping next week where buyers will even get some federal tax credits for the said vehicle. The LSV can carry up to 4 passengers and is another energy efficient vehicle which should be ideal for private and business use. It weighs less than 3,000 lbs. and has a top speed of 20 to 25 MPH. LSVs are allowed in 47 states and the District of Columbia on many roads where the posted speed limit is 35 mph or slower. These Club Car LSVs will carry a MSRP of $8,876 although these may be lowered after the application of tax credits.

Kellan Lutz Admits Buying Scooter with Earnings

New Moon Star Kellan Lutz was recently asked on what he would do with his earning from the hit movie and among the things he had already bought was a scooter. Other than being a conventional and economical mode of transport. Apparently Lutz had shared this to acknowledge paparazzi shots taken of him on a scooter which he admittedly bought way downtown. That was reported here on ScooteringUSA as well last February. Living in the valley, scooter use allows Lutz to take the scooter anywhere and of course helps him make it through traffic with ease. So now you know!

Electric Bikeboards May Be Aiming TOO High

Various electric-powered vehicles are coming out in the market, mostly two-wheeled but there is one that comes in three. And that is this three-wheeled bikeboard, Swiss-engineered bikes that run silently aside from the sound of the motor. This should be the answer to eco-friendly concerns people are talking about today which comes with carving axle technology that should make you feel like you are on skiis.

They are run by 500 watt to 1,000 watt motors and can travel up to 60km. But at 3,000 EUROS ($4,460) this thing may be too costly for the market it is being catered to. Also, this electric bikeboard may not be suited to the elders who are known to need these mobility scooters today. Kids and Teens? Nah! I don’t think the parents would even consider it, especially at that lofty price range!

The Enicycle Unicycle

While it does look like what clowns would ride in a carnival, the Enicycle provides us an eye-view of what the future of transportation holds. They are still in the concept stages and only a few prototypes are available. But with some luck, the inventor may be able to push this new invention to the market and see if it can really make a difference. The Enicycle features a comfortable seat equipped with a fat wheel, a battery, an electric motor and a gyroscope. Looks cool and should be another one of those mobility solutions people are making use of today.

Robrady Folding Bike Wins 2009 Spark Award

Robrady Designs has garnered the Golden Spark Award for its Electric Folding Bike for its innovative two-wheeled masterpiece which is currently featured at the Autodesk Design Gallery. It was designed by DK City and is scheduled for release in 2010. The Spark Awards are given out for innovative designs and recognized changes. The Robrady folding electric bikes hit the news last August. You can read more about it here.

Mavizen TTX02 To be Unveiled at SEMA 2009

A factor produced electric superbike is set to invade the SEMA 2009 in the Mavizen TTX02. The electric superbike is designed to deliver racing performance in an ideal setup which should be an ideal platform for aspiring competitors in the e-GP. The development of the Mavizen TTX02 came about after an overwhelming response to the first TTXGP electric motorcycle race took place at the Isle of Man TT road course.

The electric bikes will become available by the first quarter of 2010 with an initial production of 50 units. Sales of the Mavizen TTX02 will be unrestricted meaning it can be used in public. The price range for the Mavizen TTX02 is expected to play in between $30,000 to $40,000, a heavy price to pay for an electric superbike to ride on the streets if you dare!

La-Z-Boy on Wheels Sells for $40,000

It is indeed amazing how some crazy concepts can make a business popular. Thanks to 61 year old Dennis Anderson, La-Z-Boy is getting some attention, particularly for their La-Z-Boy on wheels. Apparently Anderson was caught by authorities riding around the streets on his modified recliner which was powered by a converted gas-powered lawnmower engine. The motor was connected to a steering wheel while the chair had the works, complete with headlights, roll bars, a stereo and cup holders. The chair could go as fast as 20 MPH.

The chair found its way on eBay and was being auctioned. The last bid reached a whopping $37,100 last Friday.
