Apple has announced their new iCloud service, which allows you to store your content including music, mail, documents, and just about any other miscellaneous file that you could imagine in the cloud. In addition to this, it also pushes the content to your various devices to keep everything in sync.

Picking up where MobileMe left off, one of the biggest features of iCloud is the way it handles music. Instead of relying on your local hard drive to store your music files, you can have everything you purchase kept in the cloud to be made available on all of your Apple devices right away.

If you know what to do after your phone has been submerged in water, you should be able to save it with a quick reaction.

As soon as a cell phone gets water damage people want to turn the cell phone on for some reason. That is the biggest mistake! Make sure the phone is shut off . By turning the phone on you fry your whole circuit board with the water. Instead take the back of the cell phone off and remove the battery immediately.
Take a dry cloth with it is a wash towel or shirt and dry off the phone on the outside as much as possible. Drying the excess water from around the phone will prevent any more water from getting inside the phone. Take a tooth pick and clean around the keys and crevices of the phone to assure that all water is removed.
Let the phone dry some by placing it near a fan on medium. Next thing to do is to take the phone apart. Taking the phone apart is easy and common sense.Take a mini phillips and flathead screw driver on each end, compress dry everything you can in the inside. Gently press so you do not break anything. Allow it to dry once again while it is apart. you may use a dryer.
Allow the phone to dry for at least 12-24 hours to ensure it is completely dry. Put the phone back together. Turn on the phone.
Some people suggest the rice for more drying , but I don't recommend it .

Samsung Indulge Android Phone Now on Cricket for $55 Per Month

Contract-free wireless provider Cricket on Tuesday announced its first Android OS smartphone from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Indulge.
With the addition of the Indulge, Cricket now offers a choice of four Android phones under a $55-per-month "Android plan" which includes unlimited U.S. long distance, text and picture messaging, Mobile Web, and 411 directory assistance. No credit checks are required. In order to sign up for the plan, though, customers must buy the phone for $329.99 at Cricket stores, through dealers, or from mycricket.com.
Cousin of Galaxy S

As a member of Samsung's Galaxy family, the Indulge is a close cousin of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, supplying a similar user interface (UI) and many of the same features. Yet the Indulge lacks the brilliant SuperAMOLED screen, WiFi hotspot capabilities, and social and media hubs of the Galaxy S.
Specs for the Indulge include Android OS 2.2; 4G wireless support; a 1GHz Hummingbird processor; a slide-out QWERTY hard keyboard; and a Swype-enabled virtual keyboard. In online forums, though, some users have complained about the battery life of the phone.
Another contract-free provider, MetroPCS, rolled out the same Samsung smartphone earlier this year. At launch time in February, MetroPCS charged a heftier $399 for the Indulge, offering two plans for the phone: an unlmited rate plan (talk, text, and Web) with 1GB of data, for $50 per month; and an unlimited talk, text, Web and data plan, for $60 per month.
MetroPCS, however, provides 4G services, whereas Cricket describes its network speeds as 3G. Cricket, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc., sells its wireless services to customers in 35 states and the District of Columbia.

200 New Features in iOS 5

Apple's annual conference for developers kicked off on Monday, and as he does every year, CEO Steve Jobs used this venue to unveil a new version of the iOS. He also introduced iCloud, a new online storage and backup service.
iOS 5, the next generation of Apple's OS for iPhones and iPads, will include 200 new features, such as Notification Center, News Stand, and a revamped mobile Safari browser. Also at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Jobs announced a new iCloud service will take the place of Apple's ill-fated MobileMe.
Through the new iCloud service, users will be able to back up entertainment content as well as apps and app data once a day after a simple one-time registration process, according to Scott Forstall, who heads up iOS development at Apple.

Other new features shown on Monday included Reminders, iMessage, Game Center, PC Free, and major improvements to Apple's Camera and Mail apps.
Users won't need to wait until Apple releases new generations of hardware devices to start taking advantage of the new features. They will, however, have to wait for the release of iOS 5. Slated for availability this fall, the new OS will support several existing Apple devices, including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1 and 2, and third and fourth-gen iPods.
In a demo at the WWDC, Forstall revealed the details on ten new features in iOS 5:
Notification CenterThe new Notification Center in iOS 5 is designed to prevent notifications from acting as interruptions. The current system has a tendancy to stop apps in their tracks.

All notifications will be stored in this new area. When a new one comes in -- like a new email or a reminder -- the user will see an animation, and they can then go in view the notification at any time just by swiping down the screen from the top to the Notification Center.

News StandNews Stand will be similar to iBooks -- Apple's existing eBook competitive play against Amazon and Barnes and Noble -- except that content will consist only of magazines and newspapers.
Meanwhile, Barnes and Noble has been busily inking periodicals for downloadable content for its rival Nook Color e-reader tablet.
Twitter IntegrationAlso in iOS 5, Twitter will be integrated with apps that include the Safari browser, contacts, and even the camera. Users will be able to tweet locations from maps and articles from Safari, for example.

Revamped SafariApple will also give its Safari web browser tabs for tabbed browsing, according to Forstall.

Other new features -- such as a simplified reading list that lets people easily save stories to read later -- are designed for e-reading on the iPhone and iPad.
RemindersIn another new feature, users will be able to set reminders with dates for use with multiple lists. After checking boxes for "when I arrive" and "when I leave," they can set a reminder like, "Remind me to call my wife when I leave the convention today."

New Camera CapabilitiesApple is making a number of improvements to its camera app, include pinch to zoom, optional grid lines, and crop and rotate. In addition, users will be able to edit photos directly from their iPhone.

Mail ImprovementsImprovements to mail will include rich text formatting, draggable addresses, flagging, and the ability to search entire messages.
In portrait mode on the iPad, people will be able to swipe the inbox in and out.

PC FreeThe new "PC Free" feature is designed for users who want to use a phone or tablet as their only device. With the feature, people will be able to set up and activate their smartphone or tablet directly from the device, instead of plugging into iTunes on the PC.

As part of this change, software updates will be delivered to the iPhone or iPad directly over the air. This was one of the major limitations of previous versions of the iOS. All users of the Apple's mobile devices will benefit, but this is especially true for those who want to use an iPad as a stand-alone computer.

Game CenterWith a new version of Game Center, Apple seems to be taking aim directly at Microsoft's Xbox Live. Forstall maintained that although Xbox Live has been around for eight years, it only has 30 million users.
In iOS 5, turn-based games will be supported at an OS level, and games will be downloadable directly from the Game Center. Features will include game discovery, achievement points, and photos and avatars.
iMessageApple's answer to the popularity of the BlackBerry Messenger service has come in the form of iMessage, which will work exclusively on iOS 5 devices. Users on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch runningthe newest version of this operating systemwill be able to send each other messages and media over a Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Like BBM, there will be delivery and read receipts. The service will support text messaging as well as "high quality" pictures and videos.

It's been a common problem for iPhone that sound disappear or volume shaking up and down. Check your iPhone's volume setting with the controls located on its left edge. Make sure that the volume is not turned all the way down. Press the "Volume" button up or down to adjust your setting as needed, using the speaker image on your phone as a visual guide.

Unplug any headphones, headsets or adapters connected to the headset jack located on your device's top-left edge. Insert and remove the jack several times to dislodge any debris that might have gotten in there, tricking your device into thinking and responding like it is connected to a headset.

Check for debris or lint on the speaker and microphone mesh covers on your iPhone's bottom edge. Gently brush the mesh covers with a clean, dry soft-bristled brush if they appear clogged, taking care to brush away from the dock connector to protect it from the debris.

Activate your USED mobile phone

Cell phones are expensive to replace or upgrade. If you have ever lost or broken one, you know how much this costs, especially if there was no insurance coverage. Upgrades of these phones are also hard on the wallet and pocketbook. No matter whether it is a case of replacement or upgrade when you are in need of a new phone, you should purchase a used cell phone and activate it to use with your current provider.
Here some tips you might find useful?

1 Contact your service provider first to make sure you can activate a used cell phone through them.
Some companies don't do this, so it's important that you get in touch with them.

2 Give the provider the used phone's Electronic Serial Number (ESN) to see if it is compatible with the provider's service. You can locate the ESN number by removing the battery. The number is on the phone underneath the battery, usually an 11 digit number. If the phone has a different service provider's name and logo on it, it is a locked phone and cannot be used with any other provider other than the one on the phone.

3 Try switching out the SIM card once you have the okay from your service provider. A SIM card is a small circut board within your cell phone that has all your personal information on it and is linked with your service provider. Put the card from your old phone into your newly acquired phone. If that works, you're set. If not, move on to the next step.

They will ask you some security questions and for the make, model, serial number and ESN, so have these handy. They will tell you what to do from there and walk you through it.

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is one of the newest Android OS 2.2 phones offered by Verizon Wireless. It has a lot to offer: a 4-inch WVGA super LCD touchscreen, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a web browser with Adobe Flash Player 10.1, and 3G mobile hotspot capability.

This "first impressions" review is based on a short time with this smartphone. I'm already working on a more in-depth review that will be out in a week or so, when I have had time to fully test it out.

BUILD & DESIGN

The Droid Incredible 2 is significantly smaller than some of the giants like the HTC ThunderBolt and the HTC EVO 4G. The sides are slightly thinner than the overall device, since the back bumps out just a bit, so the phone really does feel slim. There's almost no border around the display, so you get the sense that the phone is as small as possible, with no wasted space.

The back of the phone is coated with a rubberized finish that is slightly textured. The back bump-out looks kind of cool, in a Droid sort of way, and suits the device well. Fortunately the phone is just the right width to hold comfortably in my hand, because it does seems a bit slippery, like it could fall out of my hand at any moment. Though I hate to cover it up with a case, I think it would be a good idea with this phone.

The screen looks really nice, and though I'm more used to phones with 4.3-inch displays, I hardly missed that slight bit of space that is missing from this 4.0-inch display. Everything is sharp, with vivid colors, so I expect that games are going to look great. Text entry is a breeze as well, with a virtual keyboard that has plenty of room so my fingers don't feel too cramped.

Verizon Prepping Four Cutting-Edge Android OS Smartphones for Release in May

A roadmap of Verizon Wireless' plans for May has leaked out, and this shows that the carrier is going to introduce no less than four high-end smartphones that month. This includes the 4G-enabled Motorola Droid Bionic and LG Revolution.
Verizon's plans for April have already come to light, and the following month will be just as busy. If the leaked roadmap is accurate, this company intends to release eight smartphones in two months.
This move isn't surprising: Spring is typically a busy time for phone sales, with many device given to new graduates, or as gifts for Mothers or Fathers Day. Carriers respond by putting new models on their shelves.
All of Verizon's new models expected in May will be high-end smartphones running Android OS, a sign that despite the recent launch of the Apple iPhone, this carrier still has a strong commitment to Google's operating system.

iphone 5: what we know so far

Predicting that Apple is going to release an updated version of its wildly popular smartphone this summer is a very safe bet. And some of the details of the iPhone 5 have already started to leak out.
Apple does its best to keep information on its upcoming products under wraps, but it isn't always successful. In the months leading up to the launch of one of its smartphones, many of the specifications will slip out ahead of time. For example, an Apple employee lost a prototype iPhone 4 in a bar, and images of it appeared on the Web well before this device was officially unveiled.
On the other hand, some of the information that gets published is wrong, whether because the source is making an honest mistake or perpetrating a deliberate hoax. With the launch of the iPhone still several months away, any information on its specifications should be taken with a grain of salt.
Processor
According to unconfirmed reports, the next-generation iPhone is going to be the first with a multi-core Apple A5 processor. This could be dual-core or possibly even quad-core. It will also supposedly include a dual-core graphics chip (GPU).
This will give the iPhone 5 a considerable increase in horse power, especially in graphics-intensive apps like games or video conferencing.
The device could debut with iOS 5, an operating system tuned to take advantage of this new multi-core architecture. Other modifications in this new version remain unknown at this point.
4G Wireless Networking
AT&T is scheduled to have its 4G network using the LTE standard up and running this summer. Verizon already has an LTE network. As these are the two U.S. carriers that are going to offer the iPhone 5, it's possible that this upcoming version will be the first with 4G.
If true, an LTE-enabled iPhone would have average data rates of 5-12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2-5 Mbps on the uplink in real-world, loaded network environments. That's significantly faster than the data transfer speeds offered by either of these carriers' current 3G networks.
So far, there has been no evidence to support this theory, but Apple likes to give customers a reason to upgrade. A move to a significantly faster network could convince quite a few current iPhone users to upgrade.
Near Field Communications
Numerous sources have indicated that the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 are going to include support for Near Field Communications (NFC). This is something that's just starting to catch on, and will bring a number of new possibilities to smartphones.
The most obvious of these is mobile payments. Rather than swiping a credit card, stores that employ NFC could enable customers to make small purchases with their phone.
There have also been some rumors straight out of left field, such as Apple using NFC to enable users to turn any Mac PC they come close to into a clone of their own personal Mac just by putting an iPhone down nearby. This would automatically change the desktop into the users' preferred configuration, for example.
Dark Horse PossibilitiesThere's evidence that when the iPad 2 debuts this spring, it's going to have an SD card reader and a video-out port. It's possible that the iPhone 5 could get one or both of these features too, as Apple has tried to give its phones and tablets a similar feature set, aside from the obvious differences.
Of course, the iPad is a significantly larger device, giving designers more room to work with, so a full-size SD card slot seems unlikely in the smaller iPhone. Still, Apple could find room for an HDMI video-out port on this device, something made possible by the dual-core GPU mentioned earlier.
Not Changing
The iPhone series has been a huge success since it began, and Apple clearly follows the old rule, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This product line has advanced over the years, but at a somewhat slow pace. For example, the second model was basically the first one, just with 3G wireless networking added. There were a few other tweaks, but that was the primary change. So don't expect really dramatic differenes this time around, either.
The 640 x 960 "Retina" screen debuted on the iPhone 4, giving Apple's smartphone a higher resolution display than any of its rivals. The pixel density on this device is so high that it's impossible for users to see individual pixels. This makes it unlikely that Apple is going to change the screen on the iPhone 5.
The general design of the device is also likely not going to see much modification. Many consumers have been asking for an Apple smartphone with a physical keyboard since 2007, but CEO Steve Jobs seems adamantly opposed to the idea. So this makes a radical change in design unlikely in the next version.
Aside from this, Apple adds features to its smartphones, it does not remove them. So if the iPhone 4 does it now, the iPhone 5 is likely to do it, too. Don't expect the company to pull out Wi-Fi or the front-facing camera, for example.
Still a MysteryNot surprisingly, quite a bit about the Apple iPhone 5 still remains unknown.
The iPhone 4 comes in the same storage capacities as its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS: 16 GB or 32 GB. Will the next version be the first with 64 GB of internal storage? No one knows.
Apple's current smartphone has a 5 megapixel camera, while some of its competitors offer 8 MPx ones or even 12 MPx. This raises the possibility that a higher-resolution camera could be in the next version.
A full description of the iPhone 5 likely won't be available until the official unveiling, which is widely expected to come this summer. Apple has launched a new or updated smartphone in early summer every year since 2007, and after such a trend, there's no reason to think 2011 is going to be any different.
