Surrounded by their close friends and family, Samantha and Aryeh were married this past weekend at the luxurious Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island. Wearing a stunning Mark Zunino gown and her Jimmy Choo heels, Samantha and Aryeh were married in the gardens of the Cloister. It was such a pleasure of bring part of their celebration along with Joel of Lethal Rhythms as he set the mood for their reception in the Cloister’s Clubroom and provided the couple and their guests with a night to remember.

This past weekend, Scott and I had the pleasure of photographing Lindsey and Nick’s beautiful wedding in downtown Savannah. Lindsey and Nick were married at the Trinity United Methodist Church with their reception being held at the Charles Morris Center. It was such a pleasure to work some wonderful local vendors. It was also wonderful to work with the Momentum Band once again who provided the entertainment that kept the crowd dancing all night long. Here is a quick sneak peek of their wedding day!

Last weekend, Scott and I had the pleasure of photographing Andrea and David’s wedding at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa. A little rain didn’t keep Andrea, David and their guests from having a spectacular evening dancing the night away thanks to A Nickel Bag of Funk. Meredith and Brian were married last weekend at the luxurious Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island. Meredith walked down the aisle in the gardens at the Cloister in a gorgeous Vera Wang gown and Jimmy Choo shoes. Meredith and Brian’s reception was held at the Sea Island Beach Club under a stunning clear top tent. Simply Irresistible provided the entertainment for the evening and were amazing! Everyone was on their feet dancing (including Scott and myself!)

This home that they are completely renovating together has a special significance to Getra as she rode by this house day after day on her bike when she was a child. Military Homecoming

Last week were contacted to photograph a military homecoming session and we were so excited to have the opportunity to do it! With both Scott and I having family members who have proudly served in the military, being able to give back is extremely important to us. One of Scott’s favorite moments was being able to capture Brian making his way off the airplane and embracing Lauren for the first time in over 8 months.

WPPI Awards of Excellence Print Competition

We are so excited that Wedding And Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) has merited Accolades of Excellence for two of Melissa’s photographs at the 2013 Awards of Excellence 16×20 Print Competition. This year’s competition included over 2,000 prints in 18 categories submitted by photographers from all over the world which were then critiqued and scored by an esteemed panel of judges. We are overjoyed that Melissa has acquired this honor for a second year in a row.

Catching up with the Hopkinses

We have been really busy the past few weeks with moving offices that we have not had the chance to blog some exciting things that have taken place here at Scott Hopkins Photography.

Scott and I were accepted into International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers. It was created by professional photographers to raise the standards of the wedding photography profession. We are really honored to be a part of an amazing group of professionals.

So excited to have our photos published on Hostess with the Mostess! Check out this adorable Spongebob Squarepants themed birthday party. Thank you Stacie Francombe for letting us come and photograph Geordie’s birthday!

We are also excited to announce that we are the photography sponsors this year for the Inspire Smart Success Experience in Palm Beach this December! We originally attended the ISS Experience in Raleigh, NC and had such a wonderful experience meeting vendors and learning from amazing speakers. Since then, we have had the pleasure of photographing the ISSE in Rivera Cancun last December and the ISSE Savannah two weeks ago.
