We all know that Scottish Blend Tea is a tea manufactured by Unilever UK. Mainly in Scotland which is why it is called Scottish Blend Tea.

But, other than PG Tips, Lipton, and Lyons Teas, which are big tea brand names. What are the other tea brands that are under Unilever?

These are the sister tea brands of Scottish Blend Tea under Unilever.

Brooke Bond is a UK-based company purchased by Unilever in 1984. Brooke Bond had its own brand of tea, which has since been discontinued. But it is also better known for being the originator of the PG Tips brand.

Pure Leaf is a primarily bottled tea and sells loose-leaf and teabags in the U.S.

Unilever partly owns Red Rose Tea a famous Canadian brand, Red Rose Tea; Unilever owns the Canadian part of the brand, but Unilever sold the rights to the brand in the U.S. to another company.

Saga Tea is also a polish brand of tea, manufactured by Unilever.

And many more!!

Unilever, the parent entity of these tea brands, holds many more tea brands around the world.

All tea drinkers have their very own way on how to drink their cuppa.

Some with Honey, others with lemon and some prefers just plain tea.

So how about a tea grown from Scotland itself, hand picked and delivered to you in a exquisite designed caddy.

A new artisan tea cultivated by team of women in gardens across Perthshire, Angus, Kincardineshire and Fife has launch this.

The tea is named Nine Ladies Dancing, this tea is the result of their 4 years of trials and hard work.

Scottish Blend has announced that they plan to become an environmentally sustainable tea brand. This is by changing their packaging across its entire retail range.

The Scottish Blend tea‘s pyramid teabags are now made from fully biodegradable plant-based materials. This saved almost 6 tonnes of oil-based plastic from waste.

After redesigning the tea bags, the company saved an equivalent of removing over a million plastic carrier bags from circulation.

Article from The Scotsman

According to Fiachra Moloney, the tea director at Unilever UK&I : “Here at Scottish Blend, we care about communities and the environment. That’s why we’re committed to making the very best possible tea for our community of Scottish Blend drinkers.”

“That means not only blending our tea to taste great in Scottish water, but a switch to a more environmentally friendly cuppa too.”

“We know our consumers are actively looking for sustainable products. Our fully biodegradable and compostable teabags and our plans to remove the outer plastic wrap will let our community enjoy a cuppa in peace, knowing they’re having a more positive impact on their local environment.”

We all know that Scotland has a long history when it comes to tea drinking.

Tea drinking was introduced to the royal palace in Scotland by a queen who grew up where tea was already a fashionable drink.

Italian born Mary of Modena, Duchess of York, got her tea drinking habit while in the Netherlands. Tea was served at Holyrood Palace at Edinburgh in Scotland in 1680 and she poured the first tea.

She was visiting her soon to be her first husband that time, better known as King James VII of Scotland.

Scotland’s first minister, Alexander Elliot Anderson Salmond. He served as the First Minister of Scotland from 2007 to 2014.

The Britain’s most popular beverage that replaced ale and gin as the drink of choice since the middle of the 18th century is the one we called tea.

Ralph Lutton, managing director of Brodies in Edinburgh, shares his secrets on how to make a perfect cup of tea.

Tips:

Always use a good quality loose leaf or bagged tea.

Loose leaf or bagged tea must be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature.

Always use freshly drawn boiling water.

In order to draw the best flavour out of the tea the water must contain oxygen – this is reduced if the water is boiled more than once.

Methods:
