Have you ever sat staring at your scrapbook page, wondering what to do next?  Or thought to yourself that your page needed a little something extra, but couldn’t think of what that might be?  This happens to me all the time, so I decided to make a list to help me when that happens.

I originally posted the list on the Two Peas in a Bucket forum, and some very nice Peas added their ideas.  The list below is a compilation of both my ideas and the added ideas.

*For photos with lots of people, take a piece of velum and trace the picture and then number the people and then have a list of who is who in the pic. This is a great example of hidden journaling do it where you can “flip” the pic up to see the traced picture.
*Make a wordle. (wordle.net)
*Punched circles lined up half under another paper to create the scalloped border
*Cut photo into the mosaic squares
*Use individual jewels to make shapes.

I love titles that have a lot of visual interest, but sometimes as I’m working on my own layouts, I can’t think of what to do to make my title look more interesting.  To help with this problem, I made myself a list of ways to embellish titles.

The List:

*Mix 2 different sizes of the same font
*Mix fonts using one block font, one script font
*Mix capitals and lowercase letters
*Cut title out of patterned paper
*Replace an O or the dot of an i with a die cut or sticker
*Add stitching to letters
*Overlap letters
*Use two or more colors
*Put a background shape behind an area of the title
*Add glitter
*Add pop-dots
*Put the title in a word bubble
*Put the title at the top of a journaling block
*Put the title on one of the photo mats
*Put a square behind some of the letters
*Make some of the words in the title in a small font and put a strip behind them
*Put the title in a half circle and decorate the circle
*Put the letters on angles
*Cut the title out of the same paper as the background
*Put the title inside of a die cut shape
*Put a small circle behind one letter or more letters
*Layer one part of the title over another word in the title
*Use a photograph of a sign for the title
*Put a sticker/clipart/die cut between 2 words in the title
*Use a reverse cut-out of the letters (cut the letters out and then use the background for the title
*Outline letters with pen
*Put a shadow layer around the letters
*Sand or tear the edges of the letters
*Crunch the letters and then smooth them out
*Ink the edges of the letters
*Put a frame around one or more of the words
*Paint a brush stroke behind the title
*Put a border strip underneath (i.e. at the bottom) of the title (to support it)
*Use felt letters

*Put a 1 with a round embellishment to make a D (could do the same for lowercase A)
*Put all or part of the title in brackets.
*Run your title up or down the side of your page.
*Form a title from pattern paper scraps cut into strips.
*Put only part of title on a photo, let the rest go onto the layout.
*Do a play on words. "Owl" always love you, "GlamEARous"
*Put part of the title on a ribbon, even a pleated one.
*Accent under the title with a row of punches, die cuts or other small embellishments.
Run strips of journaling between the decks (words) of the title.
*Use small letters on, under or near a big photo.
*Put letters on giant brads
*Make large chipboard letter for 1st letter. Wrap scrap fiber or embroidery floss around it for a different look
*Glue rhinestones, small flowers, or add charms to one or more letters.
*Punch one or more holes through letters, thread ribbon through and tie knot or bow.
*Stamp on the letters.
*Stamp/emboss with clear embossing
*Add Stickles
