So exciting, I can hardly wait to make the Cherry Edition available for pre-order in the shops!

I am sure you have a few questions:

Q. Will the Core Kit I have on pre-order from your shop be the new look or the original?

A. Everyone who has a pre-order in place (or making a pre-order now) will receive the new and improved core kit.

Q. Will these changes affect timing of delivery?

A. Well the good news is that the core kits are printing and in production right now. I know that Becky and her team have put in countless hours making the HUGE changes that come with moving manufacturing to a new country. Thankfully, it may only mean an extra week in Canada (so first week of July) and likely no difference in timing in the UK/Europe as long as UK customs plays nice, like it did with our last shipment, so still aiming for end of July 2012. YAY!

Q. How soon can I pre-order the CHERRY Edition?

A. We are working out a few final details and then it will be available in the Canadian/International Project Life shop as well as the UK/Europe shop. Check out the other International locations regarding their timing.

Get your kids or spouse to grab photos of you through the week or do like Ali Edwards did and captured yourself in the same location each day. Another idea is to take the same photograph, and using a photo editing software change it to a monochromatic color and use a different color for each day.

This week was filled with all sorts of big things going on around here.

The Project Life Photography theme for this week is to capture the before and after of something happening. Whether big or small.

It could be as small as what dinner prep looks like to the meal ready to eat on the plate. Or going through the tax process (on the minds of all Canadians this weekend).

Or it could be of something big.

We had two major events this week. #1 our oldest had major surgery and although I have some great before and after pics, I have decided they will go into our Project Life album and not be shared publicly.

We also had a major sewer issue that meant the town had to come and rip up our front yard and street. We were at risk of losing a 50 year old birch tree, so I grabbed a photo the day before they were to dig, just in case.

Then during the repair, I grabbed a photo of the equipment and hole:

And as you can see, the visible damage will be short term and soon you will never know we had our sewer repaired. A hug THANKS to the contractors for saving our tree!

The only downside… my before and after pics aren’t as dramatic as I had thought they might be!

This week’s Project Life Photography theme is to capture the quirky side of life.

Do you or your family members have funny little habits or rituals they do?

For example, I have no idea what I did before the invention of cordless phones… because when I am on the phone I pace. I mean really PACE. You would think I was training for a half marathon or something. I do the stairs, and around both floors of our home – multiple times – while chatting away. Even if I am confined to single room, I can find a way to pace it. Quirky – I know!

Here is a photo of one of youngest’s little rituals/quirks.

How do you eat your Oreo’s?

Well you have to have three for starters.

Use two to make a double and an empty and the third, well you just eat it normal. Well as long as you call dunking them in a tall, cold glass of milk – normal? Of course you do!

Now for an update on the re-stocking of the Core Kits and Binders

Due to some production and manufacturing changes by Becky Higgins LLC, I have made some adjustments to the estimated “in-stock” date in both shops. Oh the joys of growing pains! The great news is we have a tonne of stock in production and arriving as soon as possible!

Canada – Late June 2012
UK/Europe – Late July 2012

All of our plastics are still on schedule. The production changes have only affect the Core Kits and Binders.

For example the Big Packs:

Variety Pack 2 (40 Design A and 20 Design D)
12×12 Big Pack of 60

Both are still expected in stock in mid-late May 2012 in the UK/Europe shop! Plus we have more of all the current plastics coming at the same time.

Our son was travelling home from his band tour in the United Kingdom and I wanted to be sure I was giving him the right advice.

Here are the top 5 tips for those of you who ever travel over many times zones (specifically East to West)

1. Drink LOTS of water
2. Adjust your meal times to your destination the day before, if possible. However, for sure adjust them the day you get to your destination. Eat light!
3. Go to bed at your regular time for the timezone you are in.
4. Get up early the next day.
5. Get out in the sunshine so your internal clock registers that it is daytime.

We had family over, looked over all his 600+ pictures, had him share about his trip and then played games until it was his usual school night bedtime.

I thank all of you who answered! It has made his transition home, smooth!

I was completely ‘unplugged’ for the 3 days as we entertained family. It was wonderful to connect.

Hence the reason the Project Life Photography Theme for this week is a bit late.

I am sure you captured your Easter celebrations and traditions, but if you still need some ideas for the rest of the week, here is one.

With the beautiful Spring weather making it’s mark, get out for a walk with your camera. Capture some of the local architecture in your community.

For those of you living in the big city, this will seem simple. For those of you, like myself, who live in a small rural community or even in the country, take heart. There is lots of architecture around you too.

Remember it doesn’t all have to be man-made
