Miss M turned 8 last Sunday. Being 8 is somewhat bitter sweet for her though. She loves that she can go into the pool’s changing room on her own or be able to participate in “better” art workshops at museums and such. But at the same time, she wishes she’s seven still so that she can be the same age as the other girls in the development program at her gymnastics club. It’s not a major issue and it’s one of the reason why we switched gymnastics club, so that she can move up quicker and be with other 8-yrs-old sometimes at the end of the year or even this summer.

For her birthday we didn’t splurge. We got her little bits of this and that with her favourite being things from Cath Kidston. We were suppose to go out too, with two of her best friends, but it snowed the night before with 5-6″ on the ground and so we had to reschedule. Hopefully this weekend will be nicer and three little girls can have a fun little get together.

I did get a little bit of time to make M a little handmade something. While she thought it was cute, she’s not so enthused about it. Ahhh… I could only hope, right? So, even though it’s just laying around somewhere (see, not even sure where) I will hang it up in her room. Maybe one day it’ll grow on her. Me personally, I love it!

Have a great one!! Our heat just came back on after being down for a good three hours. We’re so lucky to live in the era of central heating. I love wood fire places but in terms of comfort and convenience, central heating is the way to go. Laters!!

WPlus9: Day 4

More weather news… according to the weather man we’re suppose to have some bad weather coming in. What in particular I have no idea but we’re suppose to be on amber alert – which I am not sure what this means either…

Here’s what I do know though… I have some awesome friends, near and far. That’s why I have an extra soft spot for the new WPlus9‘s Folk Art Florals (in store in just two days)! The sentiment on the above card reminds me of all the coffee times that I’ve had since we moved here of the friends we left behind, at least for now. Even though I am not good at mailing things, this set is making me want to mail a card out to each of my wonderful friend this year. I hope I do follow through, I know I will need a lot of good wishes to make this wish of mine happen {::SMILES}.

I hope you’re blessed with a warm day today because we’re not!! Brr!!! I cannot wait until spring, especially if it’s anything like last year!!!

Today I have a springy card to share with you. I used a stamp from the Easter Greeting set, dies from Folk Art Florals and Layered Butterflies. All new from WPlus9.

Like the butterfly? I LOVE the butterfly! See how awesome the layering is? It makes the butterfly oh so fluffy! FUN FUN FUN!! If you can only afford one thing from WPlus9′s February release you GOT to get this butterfly die! Not kidding!!

Wplus9 Day 2

And day two of February. Seriously, where did January go? I thought it was just a few days ago that we rang in the new year! We’re going into our third year here in England and I really don’t want this time to go by so quickly!!!

Anyhow, I have here another card using brand new stuff from WPlus9. For this card I used a few different things from Spring Tags. To make the card more fun, I used two awesome die-cuts. You know how I LOVE butterflies, right? Well, WPlus9 has the most fabulous piece around!! It really is a great layering system that I am almost 100% sure that you’ll want to get one!

It’s February!

Four more days until Emma’s birthday AND WPlus9 February release!!

Emma’s been counting down. There’s no big party planned but her and two of her besties will be hanging out, shopping, and eating out. I’ll be chaperoning of course and I think, while I am doing that, I’ll do some photo shoots with the girls. I haven’t taken any decent photograph since October and I think it’s about time I do something about it!!!

And now the card… Today’s card was created using many different pieces from WPlus9′s February release. Let me see… stamps from Folk Art Florals, a little tag die-cut, and a leafy die-cut. I love everything that came with each stamp and die-cut shapes. There are so many possibilities with the stamp set and dies and I love the sentiments that came with the stamps!

As for the design, I wanted to keep the card clean but I also wanted the card to feel fun and playful. So I went with a few bright colors and a hodge-podge layering system with a touch of sewing. What do you think?
