NOT! But it looked it.

We were outside enjoying the sunset a few days ago and here’s our conversation…

Hubby: Is that a bruise on Jovie’s forehead?
Me: (I looked and analyzed) Ha ha… no. It does look it huh?
Hubby: What is it?
Me: It’s poo stain. She had a blow-out and I had to take her outfit off and I took it off over her head.
Hubby: You are so gross.
Me: Not gross, it was an accident. (Pause) Man, I should have said yes to the bruise and have you kiss her boo-boo.
Hubby: I hate you
Me: (Laughing my ass off)

Can you imagine my poo phobia hubby kissing Jovie’s forehead thinking it’s a bruise? If he did though I’d probably be in the process of going towards single mom lane he he…

Just a little page that I did last night while M was watching Donald Duck and Jovie was with dad. Remember I’ve been trying to use up my scraps and so everything was what I found in my scrap box. The bird is from Studio Calico. It’s from one of their fancy discount coupons. I thought it was so pretty and so I saved the coupon. The picture is of my dog Kato (which I later called K — man, I have a habit of coming up with a one letter name, huh?), my first child. This picture was taken almost 7-years ago when hubby and I were still in Idaho. Ahh… those were the days… when we could just go wherever whenever {::SMILES}.

Have a great weekend!! Have a nice 4th of July and stay safe!!!

Before I start, I just want to tell my blog friends that I’ve been a terrible blog hopper. I haven’t had a lot of time to do that. When I do find a bit of time for me I either nap, eat, get cleaned up (I smell like spit-up A LOT… it’s my daily perfume!!), or make a quick card/page. I still try to go once a week so that I can see what kind of goodness you all have done but not much. Sorry about that!!!

Ok… to my post…

I felt like coloring last night and with stamps going up each year I thought I’d try to make more no layer cards for mailing and I’ll use the more bulky cards for those I give by hand (we’ll be seeing a lot of family this year too due to our move) or cards that I insert in packages. For this card I used my Copic markers and an SU stamp. I think it look Hallmark-ish {::SMILES}.

Sorry about the crooked picture. I was holding Jovie and my other hand was having a hard time holding the Nikon… too stinkin’ heavy for one hand! Next week I should have my new Beco Butterfly II carrier. It’s super cute. I was going for the owl but M said the Avery was more stylish. I listened to the 5-yr-old and now wondering if I should have gotten the owl. With the carrier I’d be able to be more hands free and so no more crooked photos and shaking paper/ribbon bits off my newborn since she was sleeping in between my legs on the bed while I crafted. I can’t wait! I had a hard time between the Beco and the Pikkolo. But the Beco’s designs won me over.

Then here’s a glimpse of me last Saturday…

I can now feel my stomach muscles and just yesterday I got into one of my size two pants. YES!! Ok, my thighs still need work. I can only fit into pants with longer zippers but I have faith, it’ll be soon! {::SMILES}

Ok, more later… hopefully soon.

Here’s a plant that hubby gave me a few days after Jovie was born. I just took this picture today and the plant is currently crispy. It’s been crispy for a week. It’s still in the house because I think it still looks nice (and I don’t have to water it) he he he… here’s the conversation that hubby and I had about a week ago.

Hubby: I can’t believe you killed the plant that I just got you. Have you not been watering it?
Me: Yeah I’ve been watering it. I watered it the other day.
Hubby: Did you water it yesterday?
Me: No.
Hubby: Why?
Me: You said it’s a hardy plant. So I only water it every so often.
Hubby: (paused and looking perplexed) Hmmm, I guess it’s not hardy enough.
Me: (just thinking in my head: maybe next time you should try a cactus)

A few days later I was driving somewhere and I stopped the car next to our veggie garden to check it out. It’s been raining almost everyday here so the garden’s been great.

M: Mommy, what are you doing?
Me: Oh, just stopping to see how my garden’s doing.
M: Don’t stare too long.
Me: Why, baby?
M: If you stare too long you might kill them.
Me: (speechless and I drove off)

So yes, the above plant isn’t the first plant I killed. I’ve killed all the potted plants that have been entrusted/given to me. My friend asked if we could watch her cat and plant. I told her the cat’s fine but the plant no, unless this is what she wanted to see when she came back from her trip {::SMILES}.

Ok, so enough of me killing stuff… Here’s something I can’t kill… a Prima flower, ha! A super simple page (it’s my theme lately) of Jovie and her grandparents. There’s really not a lot to it. A few elements, a gorgeous College Press paper, big alphas and pictures and I got myself a page that I love.

Have a great one and try not to kill anything will ya {::SMILES}.

Ho ho ho!! Ok, not Christmas but I got to start so that I can have enough way before Christmas. So just something quick using some American Craft paper and a sticker sentiment. I was going to stamp but Jovie was on my lap and standing up to find the perfect stamp would mean an unhappy baby and later a tired mommy. The sticker was right on my desk so sticker it was.

The paper-work deal. Goodness, I think for our move to the U.K. two trees have been chopped on our behalf. Hubby has all sorts of information to read (and he’d like it if I read them too) and different forms to fill out and sign and I have the kids, dogs, and house to figure out. Although selling the house is a huge task and the most expensive, getting our dogs cleared for the U.K. without quarantine is quite daunting. They’re not hard and quite reasonable but still nerve wreaking since we’d really hate to miss something and have to quarantine our dog(s) once we get there. So I have all sorts of doggy info all printed out and in a doggy folder for the vet and I to go through.

Ok, going to bed… Jovie’s in her crib. First night!!! Let’s see how long this will last. She’s been napping now and then in there but never longer than 10 minutes. Tonight I’m feeling quite good, got lots of naps, and up to the task of putting her back to sleep if she wakes up. I cranked up the AC, swaddled her, gave her a good swinging and holding time, I rolled around on her crib (to get my smell in there ya know — I use to sleep with M in her crib but I feel too heavy right now for that. I wonder if there’s a weight limit on that thing?), and gently put her in the crib and patted her a bit soon after. So far, it’s been more than 10 minutes!!

First of all, when I started this blog I didn’t know that I’d be meeting all sorts of awesome folks who not only share the same hobby but are very supportive and kind. So kind that even though we have never met in person a couple of you have sent me some goodies via snail mail. So so sweet and we are so grateful for each one of them!!!

I should have posted some of these RAKs sooner but I just now got the chance to take pics.

To my good friend, Amy (I wrote this before but I think she was the first person who regularly visited my blog) thanks for the awesome cards and book!! M loves the book!!!

The below card was created by my real life friend, Lurae. On top of the gorgeous card, Lurae cooked us some yummy pasta and salad goodness the first week Jovie was born. I need to get the recipes from her! We all enjoyed her dishes and it was a nice break for us, to not be thinking about what to cook.

Last but not least, Laurel Seabrook, sent me this fab card and lovely crafty schtuff. Thanks Laurel! I just received them yesterday. You made my day and I can’t wait to use the goodies you sent!!!

And here is Miss Jove (oooh, her name is getting shorter and shorter… I doubt it’ll be a one letter like Miss M though) at three weeks. These are her favorite things to do: eat (the first picture is her looking like a little bird looking for milk), calm (and in my mind: happy - and starting to get a double chin), and upset. There are two more thing she does best: pee and poo but for everybody’s sake I have no picture {::SMILES}.

Ok, that’s it folks. I hope your weekend’s great!!! Mine is oh so tiring. I really need a great loooooooong nap/night sleep! I can do well with just 5-6 hrs of sleep/night but the 2-3 hrs spurts (even if it later equals up to 8 hrs) is tough. I know they grow up so so fast but goodness, my old body is having a hard time. I know a lot of women have kids in their late 30s but it’s prob. why (in my humble opinion) having kids are best when you still have a “2″ in front of your age. I had M when I was 29 and I’m 34 now (but I’m forever 25, ha!) and there is a huge stamina difference!!!
