Hi everyone!

I hope you are having a lovely and relaxing weekend! We are finally almost done with all the moving festivities (if you can call them that! LOL). The movers came on Thursday and moved everything to the correct locations, but there is still quite a bit of unpacking & organizing to be done. I am just happy that the biggest part is over with!

Even with all the packing and such, I have managed to do some behind the scenes things & I am going to soon have a super duper new addition to the SP Blog. If you are on the SP Facebook page, I spoke about it earlier today, and there is also a new button at the top of the right sidebar :)

The real reason I am here is because I want to share a card with you that I made for the latest Farm Fresh Friday challenge over on the TGF Blog. Click here to see the challenge and to play along! The challenge is all about stitching so I decided to do some faux stitching with my white gel pen.

CARD 1

This is a sunset card I whipped up using the new birthday set, Bold Sentiments III: Birthdays stamp set. The card measures 5.25X3.75inches. I stamped the flower silhouette and then watercolored the background with some orange and pink. This card doesn't necessarily have to be a birthday card. It could be just to brighten someone's day.

Happiness Royalty Card

Hi everyone! This was supposed to go up yesterday, but I totally forgot to get it scheduled and it just sat as draft all day. Sorry folks!!

This is the card I made for the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge over on the TGF Blog. You can see the challenge by clicking here & there is still some time to enter it this week so go play along!!

These two ADORABLE characters are from the May stamp release from The Greeting Farm. This is Princess #4 and Prince Ian.

Here is my list of Copic colors I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E02
Prince Clothes: BG53, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78
Princess Clothes: RV32, RV34
Hair: E30, E31, E33, E34
For her crown I used a silver metallic Elmer's Paint Pen. It is actually really metallic-y and it looks awesome on the card.

The patterned paper is from the Hello Summer 6x6 Paper Pad, which was in the 6x6 SP Monthly Kit for April. So pretty! I used the stamp set also from that kit, which is the Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set. I used Regal Rose ink from Stampin' UP.

The card base is Rustic Cream from Papertrey Ink.

Mother's Day Treat Box

Hey everyone! Today I posted a cute little creation over on the SP Stamps Blog. I am posting it here too because it was a project I made for Glue Dots(r).

It was also my day to host the TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge. Click here to see what I challenged you to create! I will share the details of my TGF challenge project with you tomorrow.

Supplies:

Ultra Thin Glue Dots

Mini Glue Dots

Diamond Background stamp (SP and Company)

Large Polka Dot Background stamp (SP and Company)

Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set (SP and Company)

Hello Summer patterned paper (Echo Park)

Espresso Cardstock (Stampin' UP)

Yellow Button (Stampin' UP)

White Cardstock (Stampin' UP)

Orange Ink (Stampin' UP)

Rose Ink (Stampin' UP)

Paper Flowers (Stampin' UP)

Light Orange Marker or Ink

Scoring Tool (ScorPal)

Instructions:

1. Cut Espresso cardstock to 9X9inches. Score along each side at 3 and 6 inches. Cut and fold into a square box. Secure each side with Ultra Thin Glue Dots.

2. Cut polka dot patterned paper into 2.75inch squares (you will need 4 of these squares). Attach one square to each side using Ultra Thin Glue Dots.

3. Cut a thin strip of patterned paper 8inches long. Attach to box as a handle using Ultra Thin Glue Dots.

4. Color larger flower with light orange ink or marker. Stamp with Large Polka Dot stamp using darker orange ink.

5. Stamp smaller flower with Diamond Background using rose ink.

6. Layer flowers and yellow button using Mini Glue Dots. Attach flower layers to one side of the box.

7. Stamp banner and sentiment from the Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set using orange and pink ink onto white cardstock. Trim out banner. Attach banner to flower using Mini Glue Dots.

It's Going To Be a Wild Ride!

Hi everyone! Since I don't have a project ready to go today, I thought I would take this time to give you some updates about the current situation and things to come. Like the title of this post says, it's going to be a wild ride. I've got a few true, but entertaining stories for you! :)

APARTMENT HELL

I will preface this by saying that, at the time we moved into our current rental, we were planning on living there until at the very least, August 2012 (which would be when my husband is finished with grad school & would then look for a job).

If you've been following me here for a while, or if you are my friend on Facebook, you will already know that my husband and I are living in the rental FROM HELL (please pardon my French, and once we move, I will tell you the entire hellacious story in grave detail). Thankfully, our lease is up June 30th, and we were just given the notice about renewing our lease or going with a month to month option (which would cost $100 MORE a month). Up until a couple of days ago, we had planned to stay even with the month-to-month rate. But now, rather than staying until August as planned, we will now be putting our furniture in storage for a few months and moving back in with my mother.

Well, about a week ago, we were given notice that our unit (and other ground level units) were to undergo MAJOR renovations so that the unit would be wheelchair accessible (we're talking ripping out toilets and moving them, ripping out counters, ripping out doorways and widening them, making all the doors swing out of the rooms, major major work. We were told that the work would be extensive and take approx. 5-6 full business days 8:30 to 5:30 and we would get a discount on our rent for the next month after the work was done. HOLY MOLY! So our unit was scheduled for May 1st, which was yesterday. I have been so stressed out from the upcoming work that I have had some pretty awful headaches. We packed up the pups and sent them to grandmas house on Monday night and at 9AM the workers came to start working on our unit. They worked for a couple of hours moving the toilets over literally TWO INCHES. This involved lots of noises like jack hammering, cutting, drilling, etc. Crazy loud stuff, all while I had a headache. They completed the work and left. We thought all was well, although it was quite a hassle having no pups and being interrupted. We knew that the day was just an introduction for the days ahead that would involve much more demolition. Little did we know, it was going to get WAY worse that day. . .

We took a walk around the lake in the afternoon about 5PM and I was cooling off, about to hop in the shower and then start dinner, and then there was a crazy urgent pounding on our door & some yelling. I open the door to 5 large maintenance guys rushing in asking me if our unit is flooding because there is water gushing out of the walls right outside of our unit!! I told them that they had worked on our toilets that morning and they all knew something had gone horribly wrong & called for the plumber.

They checked all of our walls and floors along the exterior wall to make sure no water had flooded our unit. They said the water meter was going off the charts because so much water was coming out so they shut off our water & we were then told that the plumber would not be there for about an hour!!! And at that time, I am stinky & sweaty from our walk, still headachy, and getting VERY angry, and we were about to have dinner, which now I wasn't able to do. I called the building management and demanded that they postpone the rest of the renovations to our unit until after we moved out in two months or they can postpone the renovations until the end of this month and we will move out before then. She said she would find out what was going on and would call me back.

During this time, the workers explained to us that most likely, they would have to rip out the walls and find the source of the leak.

The manager called me back & I was told that it was simply not an option to postpone the renovations that long, but we could move out before May 31st and they could hold off on all the renovation work until then.

The plumber finally came & told us that they would have to keep our water off and work late into the night and most likely all day tomorrow (which is actually TODAY now). I told them we would go stay with my mom, and they could take whatever time they needed. . . so last night we stayed with my mom.

I just called our management and was told they are STILL working on the pipes and would most likely need to keep our water off through the night and no telling how long tomorrow!!! So again today, we will be at my mother's house while they continue to work on fixing their mistakes. They have ripped out walls and such (I haven't been there to see, my husband will be heading over there later today to grab a few things from our place).

So because of all the horrible apartment things, our move date just jumped from August 2012 (at the earliest) to THREE WEEKS from now!!! This means lots of packing, lots of last minute planning, and lots of headache! It's going to be a very stressful few weeks for us & possibly even more stress trying to adjust to not having our belongings while we stay at my mom's house!!!!

WHAT'S TO COME

I've got a few projects laying on my scrap table that I just didn't get to finish and I didn't get to photograph because of all the renovation craziness going on, so I most likely will only have a couple of projects over the next week or so while we figure everything out. My project posting will be very scarce over the next few weeks. The SP Stamps Blog will continue to be updated daily by the amazing SP Design Team so you can still get a daily dose of SP goodness even while I am not posting nearly as much.

The good news is, I will be taking my inventory to my mom's house once we move so our move will not affect the store except for delaying shipments for a couple of days during the actual moving process. I will continue to work hard behind the scenes to make sure my customers are taken care of.

I appreciate everyone's patience and consideration while we deal with this crazy roller coaster right now. It's been very stressful, but it will get better in a couple of weeks.

SKYELER DOGGIE UPDATE

I really appreciate everyone's loving wishes and words of kindness lately when dealing with Skyeler. A few weeks ago, I announced that Skyeler, our black and white husky had a lump. Well the lump has been removed & Skyeler is recovering very well. She had her stitches taken out last Friday and we finally got the results back about her lump. It turns out that the lump was actually cancer. The type of cancer was mammary cancer. The good news is that the cancerous cells were only on the inside of the tumor so the vets suspect that the cancer had not spread to other parts of her body. There is about a 50% chance that when they removed the tumor, they removed ALL of the cancer and she could be completely fine as soon as she recovers from the surgery. That means there is also about a 50% chance that her cancer has spread. We are keeping an eye on her and watching for signs of anything bad. Only time will tell if she is fine or if she is actually sick.

I am worried about her, but I know worrying won't help anything so I just try to give her as much love and attention as I possibly can give to her. My long time readers know how much my doggies mean to me. They ARE my children & I love them so much. I just wanted to give you an update on Skyeler because many have asked me about her lately. She's doing as well as we can expect. If she has any more health scares, I will be sure to keep you informed about her.

Mr. Funny Man Layout

Tonight is THE NIGHT for the big huge ginormous SP and Company Inventory Reduction and Garage Sale!! The sale will start at 12:01 EST and there will be literally hundreds of items marked down. I have got to clear some room for new goodness! I hope you stop by the SP and Company Store tonight!

Today is my day over on the iCopic Blog and so today, I am changing things up. I actually didn't use ANY Copics on my project today *GASP*. . .

I actually used a couple of the other products from the iCopic store! Have a look:

As I always do on my scrapbook layouts, I do my journaling with my Handy Dandy Multiliner! I use this thing all the time! I outline elements with it, or write with it. There is a little bit of Copic Multiliner on nearly every scrapbook layout I make these days. They come in a variety of colors and line thicknesses. I used the Black Multiliner SP.

Here's the complete layout. This is my silly hubby making faces while washing the dishes. I was actually taking photos of the dogs, I think, but he was just being so silly I had to capture the moment. My hubby is the type of guy who can always make you laugh.

The next thing I want to point out is my buttons I added. There is a real button, and then there are two chipboard buttons. I absolutely LOVE the combination of the various textures and colors when using some faux buttons along with some real ones! It really just adds some extra visual interest to the page. The faux buttons I used came from the Webster's Pages set called: Trendsetter. This is actually from a button & twine combo set so you can dress up the centers of your buttons or leave them plain.

The letters, sticker elements, and patterned papers were all from the Note to Self collection kit, which was past of the March SP Monthly Kit.

I also used the following SP and Company Stamps: Sewing Chic (for the decorative label shapes behind the photos), Mustache Madness, and the Diamond Background. I bet ya never thought that the Sewing Chic stamp set would ever be used with the Mustache Madness stamp set! LOL

My layout was inspired by a layout I saw on Creative Scrappers, by Stacey Apps for Sketch 205. I am also entering this layout for that sketch challenge.

Movie Monday: 5 Minute Get Well Soon

Hi everyone! Happy Movie Monday! Today's project totally rocks because not only is it adorable, it qualifies for a 5 minute card! I couldn't believe my eyes when the timing was about 6 minutes for the card to be made, and I talked a bunch so I think you could easily make it in 5 minutes :)

I moved my sale announcement to the top of the blog as a reminder so you will be prepared for the fun coming up on Thursday night/Early Friday Morning!

My Movie Monday is just a simple project tutorial, but by looking at the card, you wouldn't think it was such a quick project. I think it came out really well.

Hi everyone!! Sorry I've been MIA! I got a migraine Monday afternoon and have been trying to take it easy ever since. It wasn't as bad as my old migraine days, but this one was the worst I've had in probably over 2 years. In Knoxville right now, there is a huge fire on this 9 acre organic mulch farm and it is causing lots of smoke and air quality issues, and well, I am sensitive to those kinds of things! So I have locked myself in the house basically! LOL

Some of you have asked about Skye the doggie, and well, she is doing well! She had her big lump removed about a week and a half ago, but we haven't yet heard back about the results of what her big old lump actually is. We are remaining hopeful that it is nothing super serious, but I will keep you informed!

Also, I am going to be restocking some SP Stamps very shortly, as I seemed to have run out of a bunch of stamp sets all at once over the past two weeks! If you are signed up for Back in Stock Notifications, you will be the first to know when these stamps come back in stock. Otherwise, keep checking back because most sets will be restocked in the next couple of weeks.

And wow sometimes I really can talk!! The real reason I came here today was to tell you. . . COPICS! WAHOOO!! iCopic has some really cool news because some new Copics are coming out later this year. Here is the info:

For today only, we're allowing a pre-order with an expected release date of October 31st. It's a bit far away so after today and to make sure those who jump on this release get them first, the next pre-order date will not be offered until August 31st after we secure a larger amount exclusive for our customer's to have in hand first!
