<p>The stamp is by Unity...called Tinsel in a Tangle.  It's a mini set that I grabbed as soon as I saw it because it makes me smile!  I needed a gift card holder for my dd's gymnastics coach and this was an easy way to go.</p>
<p> <a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ec80b9e970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="Unity-Tinsel-open" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ec80b9e970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ec80b9e970b-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Unity-Tinsel-open" /></a>The designer paper is Echo Park from last year and I cut the snow hill landscape by taking a 4 1/8" x 3" piece of white cardstock and cutting it in half with a wave.  I flipped one over and glued it on the card flat, and the second, I only glued around the bottom and sides and it forms the pocket.<br /><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f718834015438523020970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="Unity-Tinsel-pocket" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f718834015438523020970c" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f718834015438523020970c-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Unity-Tinsel-pocket" /></a><br />The little penguin is stamped in Versafine Onyx black and I coloured his tangly tinsel with Spica Glitter pens.  I added a border Martha Stewart's "Drippy Goo" punch...I think it works for snow or icicles too.  Stardust Stickles tops the hills and shines each of the coloured dots.  I finished with some American Crafts ribbon and that was that! </p>
<p>So quick and easy...just a bit of drying time for the stickles but I'm done my Christmas cards now!  Are you?</p>

<p>I needed a few more Christmas cards so I scouted out the sketches and decided to pull my colours from the <a href="http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2011/12/color-throwdown-171.html" target="_blank">Colour Throwdown Challenge</a>.  They are a perfect match to Memory Works "25 Days" designer papers which are so fun to work with...you don't even need stamps!  But, alas, Unity designed a coordinating stamp set to go with them, so I had to pull the two together and here's what I came up with!  <a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2b7b2970d-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="Swatch+171" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2b7b2970d" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2b7b2970d-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Swatch+171" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2a88f970d-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="WSC-Unity25days-SCS362" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2a88f970d" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2a88f970d-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="WSC-Unity25days-SCS362" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea67fed970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="float: left;"><img alt="SC362" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea67fed970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea67fed970b-120wi" style="margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;" title="SC362" /></a>First up is <a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/card-sketches-f41/sketch-challenge-362-a-t543782.html" target="_blank">Splitcoast Stampers Sketch #362</a>.  I can hardly believe it's #362!  I used the sentiment from the Unity set and the little Christmas Wish List is one of the little squares in the Memory Works papers.  So fun and easy to put cards together with their papers!</p>
<p> </p>
<p><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea690a1970b-pi" style="float: right;"><img alt="WMSC77" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea690a1970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea690a1970b-120wi" style="margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px;" title="WMSC77" /></a>Next up was the Waltzing Mouse Sketch<a href="http://waltzingmousesketchchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/12/challenge-77-december-10-2011.html" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="float: right;" target="_blank" /> #77.  I knew it would be posted on Friday, so it was perfect for my sketch set.<a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea690a1970b-pi" style="float: right;" />  It was nice and easy to work with and my card ended up something like this!  No stamps on this one!  I used the little images from the paper and coated them with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and tied some twine off with a button to finish!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401543830c071970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="WSC-Unity25days-WMSC77" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401543830c071970c" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401543830c071970c-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="WSC-Unity25days-WMSC77" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2d10e970d-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="float: right;"><img alt="FTL170" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2d10e970d" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2d10e970d-120wi" style="margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px;" title="FTL170" /></a>My next sketch was another Friday sketch and a favorite of mine to "Fall to" when I am looking for a sketch, and that is the <a href="http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com/2011/12/170.html" target="_blank">Clean and Simple Fall to Layout #170</a>.  My card doesn't seem as Clean and Simple as it should be, but I like it just fine!  I picked up these flowers by Prima last year, and I thought they looked like Poinsettas, although they weren't from their Christmas line.  The seemed to fit perfectly with the sketch and the papers!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6b333970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="WSC-Unity-25days-FTL170" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6b333970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6b333970b-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="WSC-Unity-25days-FTL170" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6bcd7970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="float: right;"><img alt="SSSC147" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6bcd7970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f71883401675ea6bcd7970b-120wi" style="margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px;" title="SSSC147" /></a>And to finish, I used <a href="http://kgiron.blogspot.com/2011/12/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-147.html" target="_blank">Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #147</a>.  I loved this sketch and it was so easy to work with...probably the fasted card of the four!  The bingo card is another from the Memory Works papers and I added some snowflake buttons and Bravo Burgundy ribbon!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2f478970d-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="WSC-Unity25days-SSSC147" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2f478970d" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fdb2f478970d-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="WSC-Unity25days-SSSC147" /></a><br />Here's a look of the four of them together...such a nice little set don't ya think?</p>

<p>Hope you are having a wonderful day!  See you soon!</p>

<p><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fd5def58970d-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="CTS-BBB17" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fd5def58970d" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f7188340162fd5def58970d-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="CTS-BBB17" /></a><br />I started with my newest <a href="http://www.flourishes.org/" target="_blank">Flourishes </a>Stamp set; <a href="http://shop.flourishes.org/A_Season_of_Celebrations_p/ss174.htm" target="_blank">A Season of Celebrations</a>! I love the gorgeous silhouettes in this set! They are fabulous for techniques and work perfect for simple cards. Mine ended up somewhere in between LOL! I used <a href="http://kgiron.blogspot.com/2011/12/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-146.html" target="_blank">Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch</a> for my layout, and I kept my colours monochromatic so I could also play the <a href="http://scrapbookersparadise.blogspot.com/2011/12/playing-in-paradise-challenge-44.html" target="_blank">Playing in Paradise Challenge</a> at Scrapbooker's Paradise!</p>
<p>The sledding silhouette from <a href="http://flourishes.org/category/challenges/bring-back-beautiful/A%20Season%20Of%20Celebrations" target="_blank">A Season of Celebrations</a> was stamped on text designer paper by Authentique in Versamark then embossed with navy embossing powder. I cut it into a circle and layered it on a navy Lacey Circle. The Sahara Sand card base was embossed with snowflakes and the designer paper is from Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost designer paper from last year. I added a felt snowflake secured with a snowflake brad, then I picked up my White Opal liquid pearls and probably should have put them down sooner than I did! I added a pearl to the centre of every snowflake and then I created a "snowfall" of pearls in the sledding scene. I think it's kind of fun!</p>

<p>I made a tent topper card for a change of pace.  The card base is 4 1/4" square, and the circle extends beyond the card to 5 1/2", so it fits in a regular A2 envelope! The image and sentiment are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured the ornaments with Copic Markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the ornaments for a little shine!  Rouge Liquid Pearls were dotted on each of the scallops and I tied red gingham ribbon around the lower portion and fastened a Queen &amp; Co. jumbo brad around the bow.</p>
<p>Are you going to have all your Christmas Cards done in time this year? I have to get a bit of a move on...I've been slacking, but there is so much cool Christmas product arriving daily at <a href="http://www.scrapbookersparadise.com/" target="_blank">Scrapbooker's Paradise</a>, that I will have no shortage of supplies!  Stock up now before their sold out...Christmas items are one time purchases and when they're gone...they're gone. </p>
<p>That's it for me!  Have a fabulous weekend!</p><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Scrapnextras/~4/0OjvfbuTzdo" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>

<p>November's Showcase Monday's at <a href="http://www.scrapbookersparadise.com/" target="_blank">Scrapbooker's Paradise</a> will feature some amazing Christmas giftables!  The design team has gone all out and you'll be ready for Christmas nice and early! I had a really hard time nailing down what I wanted to do.  We have some beautiful canvases by <a href="http://www.scrapbookersparadise.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=282" target="_blank">Canvas Corp</a>, and <a href="http://www.scrapbookersparadise.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=pail" target="_self">Pails</a> and tins are really fun too.  In the end, I decided to alter a candle with Alchohol Inks, since they are our <a href="http://scrapbookersparadise.blogspot.com/2011/11/feature-item-alcohol-inks-and-giveaway.html" target="_blank">Feature Product</a> right now.  Here's how it turned out:</p>

<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now I have to share my happy accident!  I cut the flower shapes from some old pieces of designer paper.  I'm always careful to conserve paper just in case I run out of the 70 million sheets I have stock piled in my studio.  Well being careful had a fabulous pattern to it, and I couldn't help but think that the negative image created in the scrap of designer paper was card worthy.  Here's what I ended up with!</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f718834015392fe67f4970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false"><img alt="Negative-image-card" border="0" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54f0b0f718834015392fe67f4970b" src="http://www.scrapnextras.com/.a/6a00e54f0b0f718834015392fe67f4970b-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Negative-image-card" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c15u84sN1uY/Tr4oJKd8kiI/AAAAAAAAA8M/bfRJRTGDW6A/s1600/Negative-image-card.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">OK, so this is totally random.  I just started reaching for the little things that hadn't got put away and were still floating around my desk.  You know, flowers that don't actually make it on a project, buttons that weren't a perfect match, brads that I don't know what to do with most of the time anyway.  I thought it was so fun, and it reminded me of my dd, 'cus she is so random, and loves quirky.  That's why I picked the sentiment...this might end up in her lunch box one day!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Ok...that's all I have.  Now off  you go and have a fabulous day!</div><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Scrapnextras/~4/hWKGomUjFKk" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>
