New Cards

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Sat, 12 Sep 2015 17:16:00 +0000

Hi Ladies, it has been a long time since I have posted. In the last 8 to 10 days I have been working on cards for the ladies in our church. I love making them but I love scrapbooking more. I have made 4 to 5 complete albums just this year. I love working on albums for our grandkids. We have 6 of them but in November around Thanksgiving we will have our 7th grandchild.

Here is the cards:

This card I'm redoing cause the ink wasn't bold enough to make her stand out.

Okay here is some more and ladies I really would like to know what you think of these.

Ladies the one above this line is the card I made for my family for Christmas. As you can see I put my family in there and sent it to all of our children plus our living siblings to show them how our family have changed for the year. They all loved it.

Thank you for coming by and I hope you like what you see. IF you would like me to make some for you just send me a e-mail.

Sincerely

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Wed, 17 Apr 2013 03:20:00 +0000

I just took some new pictures of our new little girl and would love to share them with you. She is now 3 months old and she weights 2.9 lbs. We are still working hard on potty training but sometimes she does great and not so good on other days. BUT we still love this little girl.

She is one very spoiled little girl and she is a joy to have around us. I'm so glad that we paid the money that we did for this little girl and now she is part of our family. We really love her and when she isn't playing on the floor she set's and sleep's next to me.

She is the first dog that we have ever had that is my dog. Most of the time they becomes our children or my husband dog. But not this one. I know both of us has so much fun playing with her. She loves to go outside with her dad and she runs in the house with him also. Bridget is her name and she is the joy in this hime.

Thanks for coming by and I will share some pictures with from this coming Saturday.

We will be having a work shop on Saturday and we all well be working on our albums or cards or what ever they want to work on. So I will be back on monday to make my report to you.

Sincerely

Hi Ladies,

So much has happened to my family since I was last on here. I well start with me, on July 9, 2012 I started a New Diet and I'm still on it and I have lost over 55 lbs. This last week I spent in Portland with my daughter in law and son and 4 grandchildren, I put back on 3 lbs so tomorrow I'm back on it strong. While I was in Portland I seen my New doctor and she has taken me off all of my blood pressure meds and 4 other pills that my old doctors had me on. So that really made me happy to hear that.

On March 8th my husband and I went to Boise to pick up our New Baby Girl

This last picture was in the Hotel the night we got her. We named her Bridget and we love her so much and with just two of us being home alone we are so glad that we got us a little Maltese. She well be about 5 to 6 lbs and she is a joy to have around. For the first time in my married life I have a dog that claims me more then she does my husband. One more set of pictures here you go to show that she is Mommy girl.

The picture of her laying on my blue pillow. It is a pillow I used when I broke my tail bone. She is so small she can lay in it just fine so she has claimed it as her pillow. The other two is she is wearing a XX Small shirt that says I love my Mommy. Then the last one is her laying beside me and you can tell me are Oregon Duck Team fans. Our Son graduated from U of O.

Today my husband weighted then he picked her up and she is now up to 3 lbs and she is almost three months old. But from her neck to tail she is only 7 inch long. So she is still going to be small.

Thanks for coming by and I hope to start sharing my cards and albums with you more.

Sincerely

Donna http://scrappnana.blogspot.com

Almond Joy Cupcakes

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Thu, 12 Jul 2012 01:12:00 +0000

I love what Lizzy does with her cupcake and I know my grandkids love these or they will love them. Thank you so much Lizzy for the wonderful job you do.

Your Cup of Cake

Almond Joy Cupcakes

The Story:
Once upon a time I made what I called an Almond Joy Cupcake. I won’t even link to it because the photos are so pathetic. But here is a true Almond Joy Cupcake. It has the coconut filling with pieces of shredded coconut and it’s dipped in melted chocolate. So this cupcake has a tough shell because of the chocolate, but it’s wonderful because you can eat it like a sandwich, the frosting won’t get all over your fingers!

Almond Joy Cupcakes

Yield: 24 Cupcakes

Ingredients

Chocolate Cake:

1 box Devil's Food Cake Mix

4 eggs

2/3 cup oil

1 small pkg. chocolate instant pudding

1 cup milk

1/2 cup sour cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Coconut Topping:

1/4 cup butter, softened

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 1/2 cups shredded coconut

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3-4 cups powdered sugar

2 cups chocolate Melts

sliced almonds

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with cupcake liners.

2. Sift cake mix into a bowl and set it aside.

3. In a large bowl, gently whisk eggs, oil, milk, sour cream and vanilla extract together.

4. Add cake mix and pudding mix, stir until combined.

5. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake for 17-22 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.

6. Topping: Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add shredded coconut and vanilla, mix again. Slowly add powdered sugar until you reach your desired consistency.

7. Pipe your topping onto cooled cupcakes.

8. Use a knife to smooth out the topping.

9. Place chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melt and stir until smooth.

10. Dip cupcakes into chocolate and then sprinkle almonds on top. Do it quickly before the chocolate cools.

Let me know what you think of these. They are so good and I'm sure you all will love them too. So try these this week-end. Leave me a comment so I know what you think.

Our 4th of July 2012

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Thu, 05 Jul 2012 18:25:00 +0000

I got to go and visit with a cousin that I haven't seen in over 41 years. The first thing I did when I first got there was to put my baked beans together and put it in the oven cause it takes 2 to 3 hours to cook. When we have family get togethers like this I'm always asked to bring my baked beans. What a wonderful time we all had first talking about genealogy and how our family goes. Then whn the rest of the family came Nadine my sister started setting up the table. Then our nephew started the Bar B-Que so we can started eatting.

Also this week-end we put together our mothers 83 birthday get together. What a wonderful day and what a great time to spend the day with our cousin. She lives in New Mexico so it was a great time to see her and met her husband.

Thank for coming by. I hope you will enjoy.

Easy Yogurt Pops

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Wed, 04 Jul 2012 05:51:00 +0000

Your Cup of Cake

Easy Yogurt Pops

The Story:
I got a real hankering one day to make popsicles. I started hunting the stores around town for some good molds, but I just couldn’t find the ones I wanted. So I decided to bite the bullet and just order from Amazon. So my molds were in the mail, but I was still without popsicles! So I made these babies, they are easy to make even with no molds at all.

Easy Yogurt Pops

Yield: 8, 3 oz pops

Ingredients

Pops:

3 containers of yogurt, different flavors

3/4 cup juice, separated (I used 1/2 c, orange juice and 1/4 c. lime juice)

3 Tablespoons honey

Supplies:

8, 3 oz paper cups (or any molds you have)

8 popsicle sticks (you can also used cut straws)

Directions

1. Use three small bowls and put a container of yogurt into each.

2. Stir in 1/4 c juice and 1 tablespoon honey into each one. (These two things helps to sweeten the yogurt.)

3. Layer the yogurt into paper cups, put the cups on a plate or cake pan to keep steady and place in the freezer for 1 hour.

4. Your yogurt should be the consistency of a slushy by now, gently push a popsicle stick into each one.

5. Let freeze for a few more hours or over night.

6. Peel paper cups off pops and serve or store in a plastic bag in the freezer.

Notes

I noticed while I was making my pops that the color was not going to be vibrant, so I "cheated" and added some freeze dried berries (after I pulverized them in a food processor).

Let me know what you think of Lizzy Yogurt Pops. Thanks for coming by and I hope you will like this one.

This time for Dinner??

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Sat, 30 Jun 2012 04:01:00 +0000

This time she came for dinner and ate some bad apples and off she went. This time she was in the front yard. She was only here for about one hour and I only got one picture of her cause I waited to long before I got it taken.

I'm sorry it is so dark but it was late and this is the afternoon son. But she is still pretty and still eating the bad apples that fell off the tree. She is so use to our land lord's dog and she is even friendly with her too. Thanks for coming by and let me know what you think.

I love making cards and I do have a lot of fun making cards. I have frinds that love them that wants to buy them from me and for that I'm very grateful for that. I still make Birthday cards for the ladies in our church and I'm grateful for that.

As I'm setting here making these I ask my husband what he thinks. I love this man of mine and he loves my cards and he is so helpful by telling me what I need to add something or not to add anymore.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you will leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

What would you use these FOR !

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Fri, 29 Jun 2012 16:58:00 +0000

These two cards can be used for many different kind of yours. "Thinking of you" could be for just missing someone, someone being sick, you lost a loved one. It could just keep going on and on.

On this card you have a heck list that you can use to tell them what this card is all about. About two or three months ago I brought some blings from JoAnn's and I use them on most of my card and it sure add's to the cards.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you wil enjoy what you see.

M & M Blondis - Red, White & Blondie

Thanks Leigh Anne

M & M Blondies – Red, White & Blondie

Note: If you have entered the Shabby Apple giveaway yet you have until midnight today – June 27th!

Can someone tell me how next week could possibly be July!! June flew by and I really don’t even feel like summer has started yet. Maybe it is our lack of warm sunshine?? Sixty degrees just doesn’t feel too summery but I can’t complain because the rain has been good for our garden and all the new plants we put in the ground in preparation for the Wedding Carnival. I really must share a few of the many projects I have been working for the Wedding Carnival soon!
We are planning a 4th of July get together with our neighbors out in the cul de sac. We pretty much do it every year except for the years we are at our beach house for the 4th and then we invite them down there. There will be lots of food, kids, fireworks and the ever popular potato gun!
Today’s recipe for M & M Blondies – Red, White and Blondie style may make an appearance at our 4th of July party.

I used the same blondie recipe I used for those yummy white chocolate and toffee blondies a few weeks ago. I just used M & M’s and white chocolate chips instead.
If you don’t care what your M & M color scheme is just replace the white chocolate chips with more M & M’s
Since you can find white M & M’s, the white chocolate chips filled in for the white part. I bought a regular bag of M & M’s and pulled out all the red and blue. There are a lot more blue M & M’s in a bag than there are red. I think we all need to let Mr. M & M know that next year he needs to come out with red, white and blue M & M’s for the 4th of July! Will someone please let him know.

Just mix up the dough and add in the M & M’s and chips.

I like to line my 9 x 13 with foil and then spray with some cooking spray to make removal from the pan a cinch.

After they are baked and cooled I drizzled some white chocolate over the top.

I had some fun 4th of July sprinkles so I added those on top for good measure too.

They are then ready to be cut and enjoyed! In all their patriotic goodness.

What are your 4th of July plans?

M & M Blondies - Red, White & Blondie

Ingredients

1/2 C butter, melted
11/4 C sugar
3/4 C packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 C flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 C M & M's, red and blue
1 C white chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350
Line a 9 x 13 pan with foil and then spray with baking spray.
Combine butter and sugars. Beat until fluffy
Add in eggs and vanilla
Gradually add in flour and salt until blended.
Mix in chips and M & M
Spread batter into pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a tooth pick comes out only slightly gooey.
Cool and remove from pan by lifting up the foil.

At the top hit the words Home Base Mom and that will take you to her site.

Guess who came for Breakfast?

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Thu, 28 Jun 2012 17:34:00 +0000

I woke up this morning and I looked out in the back yard to see if the man that mows our lawn, see if he did a good job or not. Out in the middle of the yard set this beautiful animal just setting and looking around. My husband went out to turn the water on and she didn't care if he came out or not. But more he worked out there she did finally get up and left the yard. I love it when they come and just set out there.

She acts like she has no cares in the world and she thinks she can rest anywhere she wants. I'm glad that she likes my back yard to rest for a few hours.

Thank you for coming by and I hope you like what you see also.

Dinner is over, now rest of the show.

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Thu, 28 Jun 2012 03:34:00 +0000

Next week-end is the 4th of July time for family to be together and have lots of fun and eat a lot of watermelon and hamburgers or hot dogs just some good old family time together.

The card above has star's on the ribbon perfect for the 4th of July. This one would be great just to say hi to someone at or around the 4th.

This one above has those black blings that look like watermellon seeds on this card. I hve had some fun making these and I wll be making Thank you and Thinking of you next.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you like these and well leave me a comment.

Wishing you the best 4th.

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Thu, 28 Jun 2012 00:42:00 +0000

Here is a few that I will be sending to friends and family wishing them the best 4th also. I'm having so much fun that it is even hard for me to stop and fix our dinner. So after these few are shared then I will stop and fix dinner for my wonderful husband.

The one above and below this writing you will notice that I have added some black little blings to it to make it look like watermelon seeds. Our family always has watermelon for 4th of July day. That is what makes that day for me. The ribbon I have had for almost one year and I haven't used it until today. I feel it was made just for summer fun time.

I hope you will enjoy these cards and how many of us send a note to our loved one just for the 4th. I know I need to do more of them.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you will like what you see.

4th of July

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Wed, 27 Jun 2012 21:56:00 +0000

We are having a big family reunion this 4th. I have a cousin coming in that I haven't seen in about 40 years. It well be a wonderful time to be able to have this get together. Also we will have a Birthday cake for my mother who will be 83 this 4th. So I made her one of these cards. The one I will give to her is the one that has "Happy 4th" on it.

I cut a oval out if the center of each of these cards and stamped the fire crackers onto another white piece of paper and put it behind the oval. Then I high lighted the oval with some color to make sure I have color to the page. I will put more together tonight and see what I will come up with.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you like what you see.

Buttons and pearls

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Wed, 27 Jun 2012 02:09:00 +0000

The last for tonight and more for tomorrow. I just learned a new trick that I want to put to work in another set of cards. These was fun to make and thanks to my wonderful husband for his advice on some of these. He keeps telling that I have talent but I'm not sure if that is true just yet.

The color of the cupcakes matches the paper. Then the Buttons or Pearls off sets the other colors so they look good together.

We sure MISS Him!

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Sun, 24 Jun 2012 23:13:00 +0000

Our first born grandson we sure miss him. I think knowing we won't get to see him again until after he turns 18 and then his mother will get a hold of him and see if he wants to come for a visit.

Our daughter was married to his father for 5 years when she came home for a visit and we wouldn't let her go back. She had so many bruises on her that it scared us. But this young man was born while she was still married to him. Donovan was and I'm sure still a sweet little boy. His father has told him so many lies about his mother that we all just pray that he won't believe them at all.

Donovan was about 4 months old in this and the next picture. He was a very big boy but we still loved him more cause he was a very happy little guy.

When we went to court we tried very hard to keep him but his father was so dishonest that he lied to the court. But we was told from the begining that the Florida Court was for the fathers and no matter what we do. But we didn't give up until the Judge told us she wanted the boy to stay with the father. The Judge had lied to us and told us she would never break up the two kids but she did it anyhow.

Donovan we will love you forever and for our family you pray for your safe keeping and we pray that we can see you later on in life.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you had a great week-end. I'm not doing to good and neither is my husband but we are stil here.

I learn the hard way.

noreply@blogger.com (Scrapp'n Nana) — Sun, 24 Jun 2012 02:34:00 +0000

After I have made almost 12 of these I come to find out that I need 100% cotton thread. So I have made three more and now they are ready to go to the owner of them. So when my daughter in law get's here she will take these to her mom. I sure have learned a lot and I have found out that cotton is very hard to work with but I wil do it until I get the amount done that I need to do. The next color I think will be green cause I want a couple of these then more for Cherly. I also have three other colors that I can make some of them.

Cherly I have three more here for you and I sure hope you will like these. There are made of 100% cotton. I do have more colors and I also have learned a lot on making these.

I hope some of you ladies that knitt can give me some advice on how to make these better. Thanks forr coming by and I hope you will leave me a comment.
