hi all! here is a very late christmas planner for keeping you organized. i guess it's not too late, if you have a mess of papers with lists, notes ideas and plans, this would be the perfect place to keep the together and in a place where you can find them.
and consider this- this planner keepsake will last through future Christmases so you will remember how this Christmas was celebrated with old and new traditions, decorations, family members, gifts, and celebrations. Maybe you will add a new calendar for next year and a few more pages so it will be a running reminder of each Christmas.
so with all that said, it's really not too late to get more organized! right? lol!
cover of this christmas "planner/journal" keepsake with 2 bottom pockets. this planner measures 6" X 10" and has 11 decorated pages of pockets and includes a full 9.75" X 11.75" December 2009 calendar, 12 removable/refillable pages of 5.5" X 8.5" linen writing papers, 5card-stock removable/refillable, 5.25" X 8.5", season planner pages with spaces to fill in gift lists, birthdays, party dates and Christmas memories.
pages 1 and 2 with 2 pockets on each page. the papers are from "webster's pages" and are double-sided card-stock.
pages 3 and 4 1 pocket on each of these pages plus a whole page pocket with a clasped flap.
pages 5 and 6 this is the center of the planner, you can see the binding clasps which are easy to open to add or remove pages. page 5 has a a full 9.75" X 11.75" December 2009 calendar attached, which pulls out (with a red velvet ribbon) over page 6. plus a whole page pocket with a clasped flap. page 6 has 12 removable/refillable pages of 5.5" X 8.5" linen writing papers.
this is a closeup of the calendar, i had to use a paper clip to hold it open because the planner is in a standing position. i have included a little bag of calendar goodies you may attach to the different days

i'm thinking of aseasonal planner for '10, but the way things are going, i'm not sure i will be able to put it all together before the first of the year! geesh!
i'll keep working and try and get our house decorated for the holidays, plus shopping, plus resting and enjoying, in the end it is well worth it, that week between christmas and new years is an especially fun family time when all the relaxing, visiting and playing happens woohoo!

ohmygosh, is it cold here! 20 degrees and getting colder! yikes! it's been a long week with cold weather and sad news.
a beloved teacher, his wife and 2 friends were hit by a drunk driver and killed in an instant, last sunday evening. it has taken me this week to come to terms with this event. they left behind 2 girls just 16 and 18, so very sad. he was a dedicated p.e. teacher and sports trainer. meagen had him for special ed p.e, he was respectful and interested in the well being of all the kids, in fact, he was the force behind the special education students integrating into the varsity sports that they excelled in. with his encouragement, a close friend of jessica's has gone into the field of sports medicine. we ran into him a couple of weeks ago when we were out and about. he made a special effort to approach meagen and find out how she was doing and where she was working now. he made a difference in many of our childrens lives and will be sorely missed!
now i will show you the new kit. it could be used for a christmas or winter album, i think.

hi everyone, are we ready for the holiday season to begin? let's bring it on!
i have finally been able to create a christmas journal for all of those lists, dates and events that can overtake us, without some good organizing, geesh! i am calling it "wonder and joy" so it will remind you what this season is really about, all of these other things are suppose to be fun, not nerve wracking! lol. i have listed this journal in my etsy shop
the cover of "wonder and joy" was created from pages of a 1935 "jo-boy happy hour reader" the writable pages and stuff-able pockets measure 4.25" X 7.5"
the first page divider has a place to write your name.
the pocket on this reverse side of the divider is a bottom pocket with the santa head and little girl. three of these dividers have full page pockets, you can tell by the half circle cut out at the top, plus either side pockets or bottom pockets, lots of room to stash things.
the front of this divider actually has 2 pockets - upper and lower and a little ticket to a play attached as a pocket for tiny things like tickets, stamps...
3 bottom pockets here with a hanging journaling tag, and a tag tucked into the tiny bottom pocket.
2 side pocket here with another journaling tag.
2 bottom pockets and a full page pocket. there is a fun clock face behind the velum page with a little metal hand.
a circa 1930's bingo card with pocket and double-sided tag divides the sketch and water color papers

ohmygosh my dear husband has ordered my christmas present and it is scheduled to arrive on the 30th. i can hardly wait, it is a new die-cut machine, a real one by accucut with the same set of die cuts that i used on my last christmas album kit, "yuletide joy", with all those fun shapes! it will save time and money and i will be able to create a chipboard album right at home at the spur of the moment, instead of trying to figure how the papers will go with the album. also, with the way all of our brick and mortar scrapbook stores are disappearing, and only 1 in this area with a die cut center, i feel it is a wise investment, and lucky me, so did steve! yeah! i am very excited and hope it will arrive early, but actually, thanksgiving will be keeping us busy this week huh?.

here are 2 new albums that i have listed in my etsy shop for christmas, i'm working on some christmas kits for albums, collage or journals too, i just have to take some photos, maybe i will get them listed this weekend, i hope, i hope!
anyway, the first little album is created with a vintage (1920 something i think) greeting card that was perfect for a matchbook album:
"jingleBell Christmas" is the name of this 3.5" X 5.5" matchbook album. originally a vintage greeting card, i have added 5- 118lb. card-stock pages using vintage buttons, vintage christmas postcard images as photo pockets and the always sweet, daisy d's christmas papers to make this a special christmas album.
the 4 vintage buttons are sewn through the 5 layers of papers to re-purpose this vintage card in to an album that you can keep or give as a gift, filled with special holiday photos.each page measures 3.5" X 4.25".
the last page with santa contemplating the list has 2 little pockets. you may slip your photos behind the book and behind santa himself.

brrr, my gosh we have 38 degrees and wet out here, hello winter! we actually had snow mixed with rain last night, i thought everyone said it was going to be a warm winter around here? really, i love the cold and snow, as long as we have wood to burn and cocoa to drink-oops forgot cocoa at costco and i really do need to get our scarves and mittens out for the winter! well that's tom0rrows work- today, okay, tonight, i have just listed this new chipboard christmas album kit in my etsy shop , i love these papers by my mind's eye, i also had some of the graphic 45's christmas papers delivered today, oooh they are sweet! anyway- on with this album kit:
all the goodies you will need to create this...
5.5" X 8.5" chipboard album with each page a unique shape. the cover has 2 pockets to slip in pictures, journaling, or memorabilia- like a letter to santa? his answer? a christmas wish list? the santa tag from graphic 45 creates a pocket on top of the bottom pocket. a tag of the "night before christmas" hangs from a spiral clip with cream(although it looks stark white in this photo, geesh!) ribbon and a bit of fluffy white fiber.
pages 1 & 2
2 pockets on each page with velvet ribbon tied to the top pockets with red buttons and vintage white buttons-you can slip little pictures under the velvet ribbon to show them off. 2 large tags are slipped into 2 of the pockets, and a manila shipping tag for journaling, hangs from the top binder clip with vintage seam binding. you will have to provide the tiny stamps for stamping, alas, i couldn't find good ones for the kits- why does that always happen?
this is the reverse side of the journaling tag, decorated with music paper and a vintage christmas tree.
pages 3 & 4
two more pockets on each of these pages sewn to the pages with embroidery floss, with 2 large tags tucked in and another journaling tag attached to the binding clip. there are 2 little santa cut outs on the front of the pockets.

2 pockets on each of these pages attached with silky seam bimding, with large tags slipped into the pocket and one last hanging journaling tag . you will create this layered paper snowflake for page 6 and attached to the pocket with a button.
