new christmas album kit "yuletide joy"

brrr, my gosh we have 38 degrees and wet out here, hello winter! we actually had snow mixed with rain last night, i thought everyone said it was going to be a warm winter around here? really, i love the cold and snow, as long as we have wood to burn and cocoa to drink-oops forgot cocoa at costco and i really do need to get our scarves and mittens out for the winter! well that's tom0rrows work- today, okay, tonight, i have just listed this new chipboard christmas album kit in my etsy shop , i love these papers by my mind's eye, i also had some of the graphic 45's christmas papers delivered today, oooh they are sweet! anyway- on with this album kit:

all the goodies you will need to create this...

5.5" X 8.5" chipboard album with each page a unique shape. the cover has 2 pockets to slip in pictures, journaling, or memorabilia- like a letter to santa? his answer? a christmas wish list? the santa tag from graphic 45 creates a pocket on top of the bottom pocket. a tag of the "night before christmas" hangs from a spiral clip with cream(although it looks stark white in this photo, geesh!) ribbon and a bit of fluffy white fiber.

pages 1 & 2

2 pockets on each page with velvet ribbon tied to the top pockets with red buttons and vintage white buttons-you can slip little pictures under the velvet ribbon to show them off. 2 large tags are slipped into 2 of the pockets, and a manila shipping tag for journaling, hangs from the top binder clip with vintage seam binding. you will have to provide the tiny stamps for stamping, alas, i couldn't find good ones for the kits- why does that always happen?

this is the reverse side of the journaling tag, decorated with music paper and a vintage christmas tree.

pages 3 & 4

two more pockets on each of these pages sewn to the pages with embroidery floss, with 2 large tags tucked in and another journaling tag attached to the binding clip. there are 2 little santa cut outs on the front of the pockets.

pages 5 & 6

2 pockets on each of these pages attached with silky seam bimding, with large tags slipped into the pocket and one last hanging journaling tag . you will create this layered paper snowflake for page 6 and attached to the pocket with a button.

with these double-sided papers and differently shaped pages, you can construct any album design you would like. i include full step by step instructions and colored page pictures for placement referral, with each kit.

hi everyone, just had to share...

last summer when polly came down for a visit, seems so long ago, i miss you polly! she got me on facebook. it's a great way to see what your family is up too, and to keep in contact with friends and play games- yoville is a blast! i still haven't been able to figure out all the in's and outs of it but, i am trying. i am using it for posting listings and eventually some pictures of projects, and hearing what you all have to say, or what you are up to. i would love to be able to see some projects and creations of yours from the items you purchase from my etsy shop, and to hear what you would like to see for sell in the future. it would be fun to be able to interact and get to know you. please add me as a friend if you have an account so we can keep in-touch.

anyyywaaay, the reason i am talking about facebook is, i added " scraplovers-purveyor of fine scrapbook, altered arts & mixed media products" as a friend, suggested by a sweet lady client, and i get updates to their page, which i have been enjoying and sharing. well, a couple of days ago, i was contacted by them and was told i had won a $50.00 gift certificate to their store! i am very excited and wanted to go shopping last night, but wasn't able to, so i am hoping for today, aren't prizes fun!? thank you for this wonderful prize!

i just had to share this tutorial by rhonda palazzari at "miss fancy pants" don't you love this idea? i was doing my normal coffee drinking(guzzling), morning mail reading and came across this in my scrapscene newsletter, which i love; we all have so much "scrap" paper. i can't toss any scraps out that are over 3", okay, okay, sometimes 2" in size, it gets frustrating, now with all my christmas scraps, i can create these wonderful poinsettias, yeah!

been busy binding all those vintage book covers, bingo boxes and other goodies into useful notebook notables, and making room in my cupboard so all my other stuff can fit. sound familiar? geesh, still not done, it's never ending, lol! i love my zutter binding machine! i am in the process of posting these little sketch/notebooks into my etsy shop, under "journals, kits and notebooks" then... on with christmas...

i found some random pictures that i sized but haven't posted so i thought i would share these too, starting with last summer.

i bought a bunch of these little shaped chipboard albums at michaels because they had a great sale- i think they were 2 for a $1.00, anyway,they were so much fun to add pictures to.

of course, we didn't miss our annual state fair visit. it's always fun to see the harvests, color, gadgets and toys, horses, cows, sheep, smell the food and naturally eat the food, it always tasts better at the fair.

i took these one morning in september. when i came outside with a cup of coffee, steve had this little stack of wood piled, ready for our fireplace- true sign of fall, and our little visitors were getting more aggressive with their nut collecting.

and last week, at megs special olympics "bowl-a-rama" she took third place with a bronze. the last is a picture of her coaches(minus jess) getting in the spirit, i love these guys- totally dedicated( the 2 ladies are special ed teachers) fun, encouraging, supportive, and real advocates of their athletes!

past pages ephemera altered book done-yeah!

geesh, if you can relax for a bit, here is the finished book in photos that i have finally listed here, lol. it is an 1881 mathematics book to which i have added 39 pages of ephemera and 3 matchbox drawers.

the cover was a toughie for me with this one, not sure why... i wanted to leave the pages and ephemera pieces untouched so whomever wishes to adopt/adapt this as their own, can distress or alter each page to their own ideas, so i thought the cover should be that way too, but in the end after behaving myself with the pages, i just had to ink the edges of the image, i am weird, i know, anyway here we go with 23 photos...

this bird picture is from a 1950's audubon society book.

a musical game card with an 1800's blank check slipped into the pocket the facing page has a pocket created with an 1888's ledger paper that has been covered with clippings from an early 1900's newspaper, now that is what i call recycling!

these pages have pockets created from an 1800's children's book and a cartes-de-vistes by r.h.barrett & son, george street, glouchester

there is a fun egg saver envelope attaced to this pocket with a tiny paper clip.

there are 9 pages of this 1929 ledger paper to write on

this is an air mail envelope with a sheetof stationary from the hotel viking in oslo.

i created a pocket here from a long vintage flashcard

a part of a letter, a poem, i believe called "my mother" is on the left hand page and a pocket created from another page of that ledger paper from the 1800's, with fun ephemera goodies tucked in on the right hand page.

i hope someone will be able to use this altered book to hold memorabilia, ideas, and thoughts. you can add stamp work, paintings, images, lace, ribbon and ink to these pages and have your own unique journal.

since the pages are created from vintage papers, they are not acid free and any photographs that you add should be copies or protected in sleeves.

i hope you had fun looking at this book, actually i hope i can inspire you to create one for yourself! have any vintage papers from your great grandma's and grandpa's? your grandma and grandpa's? have little rings or goodies that could find a home in drawers in a book? if you create pages out of scrapbook papers, they will be acid free and you could store all of your precious vintage photos on the pages and in pockets.

new spooky haunted house chipboard mini album "mischief and mayhem"

so here is the newest little halloween album, "mischief and mayhem" ooooh:

"mischief and mayhem"

this mini album is 6" X 8" from the top of the moon to the bottom of the album, but each page layout is actually 6" X 3.25 , with 8 hand-cut pages plus the front cover.

pages 1 & 2

pages 3 & 4

these two "skeleton" pages have 1 pocket on each page. on page 3 is a skeleton hand holding a double-side tag with a vintage postcard image on one side and bazzill card-stock on the reverse. on page 4 the pocket is a spooky skull which has 2 tags tucked in behind, one with a "poison" label image on the front and the other with a recipe for "dead mans toe pie" yuck. they both have bazzill card-stock on the back. i picked up potion and label images from this website "love manor" last year, are these cool or what?

pages 5 & 6

the witches pages have 2 pockets with 2 tags. both tags and pockets were created with vintage postcard images on the front and bazzill card-stock on the back. a bat in flight is attached to the upper corner of page 6.

pages 7 & 8

the "bat" pages have bat pockets and black mats behind them, ready for your photos. there is a witch riding her broomstick in front of the moon and a clock that has a mini metal hand pointing to midnight- boo!

hi all, hope everyone is enjoying these cool (literally here) autumn days. the trees are turning now, very slow for this time of year, and it is gorgeous, ohmygosh! i have been busy, busy, busy creating and it feels great!
