hi all, geesh, we have finally thawed out with just smatterings of snow-mounds left in parking lots. some high winds kicked in 45 to 50 mph gust over the last few days but all is well, i am thankful, we have some beautiful fir and cedars around our place here and it would be just awful to see them tumble.

so,with valentines day just around the corner, i am thinking love thoughts and have have listed a new storybook journal in my etsy shop called "romantique".  this little book, "tales from shakspeare" (notice spelling) by charles lamb, was published in 1898 and measures 4.25" X 6.25".

this storybook journal has 50+ pages which include a combination of vintage lined writing, velum, sketch, linen, and watercolor papers. the covers were created from a well read 1889 shakespeare book  there is a trinket cluster attached to the o-wire...

each divider page has a full page pocket with a top opening, i have clipped a half circle in the top of some of the dividers other openings are just along the top edge as this front divider.

                                      divider 2- the mail page 

instead of a full page pocket, this page is divided in two with a half circle cut opening on top and a mail slit in the middle. the vintage card image creates a small pocket to hold stamps or other small essentials.  there are little love tickets tucked in the pocket.

there are 2 side pockets here with a little spiral clip slipped on the top pocket.

this journal cover was created from a 1917 storybook "A Child's Garden of Verses" by Robert Lewis Stevenson and measures 6.25" X 9.25" with  50+ pages which include a combination of vellum, lined writing, sketch, linen, and watercolor papers, on which you may journal, sketch, draw, paint, and glue. there is a trinket cluster attached to the o-wire which has 3 little charms attached: a fairy, a treble clef and a moon/star.

the papers i used are from prima's double-sided card-stock "pixie glen" collection. so very cute, with soft  baby blues, pinks, greens and yellows. there is a bottom pocket with a vintage baby shower card and a vintage lace pocket attached to the front.there is also vintage seam binding sewn with a vintage button. the name plate is a vintage postcard image.

there are 2 bottom pockets here trimmed in vintage lace, seam binding with little pearl beads and cotton thread. tucked into the pockets are 4 appointment cards to carry with you to the doctors office so that you can record the date, your weight, fetal heartbeat and any questions that you may have and a group of 5 pages of lined paper(front and back) held together with a little "duck" hat pin. the facing page after each divider is a vellum page. each divider page is a full page pocket with a top opening, i have clipped a circle in some of the dividers as seen here, other openings are just along the top edge.

with 1 bottom pocket and 5 appointment cards tucked in over the top of a larger double-sided tag with a vintage storybook page showing on the front and backside. there is a little treble clef clip that holds 3 little journaling cards held together with a tiny gold brad. each page in this journal is hand inked and stamped.

this circa 1930's  bingo card holds 2 tags the front tag is for a list of chosen girl names...

and the back, a tag that will hold chosen boy names.

has 4 little pockets holding 4 more appointment cards. the front of the bottom pocket has some paper lace with a journaling tag attached to create a pocket which holds another tiny vintage baby shower card.

with a bottom pocket and more appointment cards and a little flower cutout attached to the front to create another pocket with a vintage baby gift card slipped in. there is a little metal bird brad attached to the center bottom of this page.

tucked betwen the sketch papers is a vellum envelope with a vintage seambinding closure, which is attached to the o-wire with little metal rings.

there are 3 pockets on this last divider page with a flower cutout forming a small pocket on the front of the very bottom pocket with a printed vintage announcement card slipped into it so you can record your new babys' information. the top has a curled back edge opening with a little bow to resemble a baby night gown.

this 4.25" X 6.5" storybook journal has 60 pages which include a combination of vintage lined writing, velum, sketch, linen, handmade, and watercolor papers. the covers were created from a 1902 book written by pierre loti called pecheur d'islande. the little birds were cut from an 1892 childrens storybook. there is a trinket cluster attached to the o-wire...

this is a carte-de-visite frame from an 1885 victorian photo album which has been embellished with paper lace, stamps and vintage buttons. there is a double-sided tag with a vintage postcard image and velvet pull, slipped into this side of the frame.

tonight i am listing this "storybook"  travel journal in my etsy shop- is anyone ready for a trip to hawaii, or the bahama's? geesh, i sure am, it has been very cold around these parts and now we start with wind and rain- oh goody. anyway, this journal would be a great way to keep your lists, events, receipts and stamps organized. there are 50+ pages of a combination of  lined, linen, velum, sketch and watercolor papers for you to write, draw, paint and glue on with 5 double-side, pocketed and tabbed divider pages to store tickets, receipts, stamps, journal pages, menus, lists and trinkets in.

the cover of this journal was created from a 1908 children's book and bound with sturdy metal o-ring binding with a vintage leather button closure, and  leather, metal and velvet page tabs.

this "mail" divider has 6 pockets- the full page pocket is divided in the center to create 2 smaller pockets, one with a half circle opening on top and the next with a letter slot opening in the center of the page. there is a bottom pocket under the slot pocket and another pocket over the top of that, created with the pen nubs paper. the word "letters" creates a small pocket as well as the transatlantic stamp. there is an attached leather tab.

this page has a large bottom pocket with a little pocket with a tag slipped in on the top and a couple of tags hanging from the top of the pocket. each tag has a reverse side with lined paper for journaling. there is an attached leather tab.

this is the "train" divider with 3 bottom pockets, the train cutout being the last pocket. there is an attached velvet tab.

a vintage northern pacific railway company envelope folded to create 2 pockets on the reverse side of the bingo card, with a vintage hyde park postcard slipped in. the little train image on top of the bottom pocket creates a tiny pocket. there is an attached metal tab.
