Congratulations

I read my sms on my cellphone to surprise that it sent by Tasha (did I spell it correctly?), my Malaysian friend who already get married this month [congratulations again, and welcome to the ‘new world’]. She wrote ‘Hello … how u doin’, huh?’

Suddenly I realize that she must be in Jakarta and I believe her husband Rudi who also my friend accompanied her. So I called her and we decided to meet on Saturday. Unfortunately we can’t meet cause they too tired after visiting few places which I recommend and also I have something important to do.

Anyway we reschedule our plan and the day after I come to their hotel, a very nice one, they’re so lucky to have such incredible discount J. So in the afternoon we meet and I took them to try a Sundanese food at Dapur Sunda, Tenda Semanggi. And after that I delivered them to the airport.

The meeting was to short but at least I had a chance to congrats them personally since I can’t attend their wedding ceremony.

Once again, ‘Congratulations my friends…’

Ied ul-Adha, New Year and New Celebration

this weekend is very amazing. We celebrated two special occasions at the same time, first is Ied Adha and then New Year 2007.

Ied ul-Adha is when we Moslem people celebrated in honour of the prophet Abraham when he intended to sacrifice his son Ishmael as a proof of his loyalty to God. Eid ul-Adha is translated into English as "The Feast of Sacrifice", when Muslims all over the world present an animal (usually a cow or sheep) sacrifice as a gratitude action for God saving the Prophet Ismail's life. As with Eid ul-Fitr, there is an early morning prayer for the Eid, and celebrations are extended for three days.

to welcome the Ied ul-Adha I decided to do the sunnah 2 days fasting before the celebration called tarwiya and arafah, and in the morning at the last day of 2007 I woke up on a very sleepy condition coz I spent the whole night called her since she decided to stay alone at home that night to celebrate the Ied ul-Adha and New Year with me. Love u lots babe.

after the morning prayer, me and my whole family went to our relatives until early evening. It’s really fun but tired trip, but I can’t get a rest since I need to prepare for another celebration, yup the Old and New 2007 with her.

so around 8 i came to her house and went for a dinner at a small but cozy resto in Kemang. After that we went straight to Planet Hollywood for New Year celebration.

but the show was not interesting so we decided to spend the night watching fireworks at Ancol. The jammed was very frustrating but we managed to went there and saw a beautiful fireworks.

and the best thing happened to me, under the sparkling fireworks at a small café in Sarinah area, she answer ‘yes’ to my question. Yup, she said ‘yes’, without any hesitation.
the feeling was indescribable, but there is one thing I’m sure about, from now we have another occasion to celebrate…

one of my useful toy that I ever bought is my HP6282, it’s equipped with Intel® PXA272 416MHz Processor with the latest windows mobile 5.0, almost makes your dream come true.

Although it doesn’t support 3G but it packaged with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and infrared so communication supposed to be no problem, and hey who need 3G if one can easily get a free 4G at café and other hotspot area?

But of course like other windows products you need to armour your os with one-must-have third party software’s. OK, here is the list:

now it’s december but the weather seems like in mid of august at Bornoe Island. It’s bloody hot, so hot that I’ve got 2^nddegree sunburn. You just can’t predict the weather anymore; maybe it’s because of the global warming things, I don’t know, what I know december is supposed to be a rainy season here in

Thank God, at least I brought my sunglasses when I went there cause my friend already warn me about the weather but I never realize that the temp will be so high, around 35C, but the humidity is very high so it makes you sweat every time.

Prayer time quickly become my favorite cause I can washed my face, hands, legs etc and hide under the roof for a while.

And to make it worse when I went back there was an emergency call, so I had to give my private plane seat to someone else. So I had to gone through more than 500 km by almost-not-working-aircon car.

God … Borneo, have you ever seen the rain?

this time I went to Surabaya to visit a port and container related companies, and it makes me sick pal. From company to company their asking the same question, “what is our benefit if we try your products?”. No no no, they’re not asking about company benefit but ‘their’ benefit

what a sick world, not even a single person asked for their company benefit, it’s really gone to fa for me. I’m not a sales guy, the reason I went there is only for better understanding my company position and brand awareness but of course I can’t avoid if they raise a question regarding price. But this time, exactly after they know the price, they will followed with another question similar like, “so, how much will I get if we (our company) buy your products?”

Every December 1^st, we celebrate (well, celebrate is not the right word) World AIDS day, but this time I celebrate it in totally different way, yup once in a lifetime experience maybe.

I have friend, a close one, and he’s an HIV positive but overall he’s ‘healthy’ and got a good job at one of the best rehabilitation centre in

Indonesia

. Last week he called me and asked me a favor, boy, it’s an extraordinary and amazing favor.

He asked me to propose a girl (she’s HIV positive too) to become his wife. Can you imagine? Well in our culture usually his father will do this job, but since his father was passed away several years ago he asked me to replace his father job.

I do flattered actually but, man ..., yeah year ago I propose a girl one time and eventhough is not working, at least I already had experience regarding this propose stuff, but again its totally different thing.

But at the end after muse several nights I said, ‘Ok, I’ll do it.’

So, at night, to completed the WAD celebration thing, we went to her house and me, myself, for the first time in my life, proposed a girl to become my friend’s wife. Thank God everythings run just like what we wanted to be right now.

What an unforgettable experience.

cousin connections

i’ve made a big decision this weekend, the decision that I believe I’ll not regret it cause i know I’m in the wrong path this time. What I’ve done in the past few weeks, I’m pretty sure it’s not the correct one even though I tried very hard to believe the opposite.

it will be perfect if it’s true but I can’t fool my self, also I don’t want to hurt others feeling’s anymore, before it’s to late.

it just … not working, my mind wasn’t there, my heart also wasn’t there. I just trying to escape and I don’t want to wrap someone else with me. It seems so unfair for both of us.

btw, the day after, me and my cousins went to Berly, one of a few Family Karaoke in Bogor, and boy, it’s very nice to know that you have a lot of cousins that you can count of to cheer up your blurry day.

on the home it was already late and I feel very exhausted, sleepy and dried so I decided to called her, cause I know if there is someone who can make me life, it’s gonna be her.

I never regret to love her, although our relationship also didn’t work as I wish, I do really love her and I always will. And hey … to love and to be loved is not an option; it’s a beautiful gift from The Almighty, the best we can do just follow our heart and let the rest to the fate. I just hope that she didn’t mad with me cause I always bothered her.

sungguh mengejutkan sekaligus mengherankan membaca hasil kajian Bank Dunia dalam East Asia Update yang menyebutkan kenaikan harga beras yang sebagian disebabkan kekurangan pasokan akibat larangan impor beras, sepertinya menjadi penyebab utama meningkatnya angka kemiskinan di Indonesia dan yang lebih parah lagi dilanjutkan dengan saran (baca: tekanan?) untuk membuka import beras.

semua juga tau kalau bangsa Indonesia ini adalah bangsa agrasis yang berarti sebagian besar dari penduduk kita notabene adalah petani, bisa dibayangkan kalau beras yang dihasilkan mereka yang harganya memang tinggi karena panjangnya rantai distribusi, ketidakefektifan cara mengelola pertanian, tersentarlisasinya pemilikan lahan dan segudang masalah lainnya yang bahkan tak terpikirkan oleh kita harus diadu dengan beras import yang harganya memang jauh lebih murah

pada periode pertama mungkin mereka masih memiliki kesanggupan untuk membeli beras tapi pada periode berikutnya hampir dapat dipastikan kemampuan itu akan semakin mengecil dan pada akhirnya bukan pemberantasan kemiskinan malah pemiskinan nasional yang akan terjadi

di negara besar seperti amerika saja pemerintahnya terus mensubsidi hasil pertanian rakyatnya, kenapa kita yang jelas-jelas memiliki daya beli sangat jauh lebih rendah bisa disarankan untuk membuka import? coba kita tanya kepada amerika apa mau mereka menghilangkan subsidi pertanian dan beradu head to head dengan hasil pertanian negara lain? saya yakin 100% mereka akan menolak, ini kok bank dunia yang katanya isinya orang orang pinter yang gelarnya panjang sampai nggak sanggup diingat malah memberi usul yang nyeleneh

kemiskinan kok cuma diukur dengan daya beli beras, semudah itukah mereka menyimpulkan tentang kemiskinan?

permasalahan yang dihadapi bangsa ini memang sangat kompleks, menurut saya yang paling penting dalam pemberantasan kemiskinan justru penguatan di sektor pertanian dan hasil alam serta industri-industri pendukunganya, karena peningkatan pendapatan para petani atau para pekerja di sektor hulu yang merupakan porsi terbesar dari rakyak Indonesia akan berdampak pada peningkatan daya beli yang luar biasa yang ujung-ujungnya akan menciptakan peningkatan di segala sektor apakah itu di sektor manufaktur, industri maupun jasa

memang sepertinya saya juga ikut menyederhanakan masalah, tapi kayaknya itu lebih masuk akal dibandingkan dengan mencoba memberantas kemiskinan dengan membuka import beras, bagaimana menurut anda?

menurut saya pribadi sih gak ada masalah dengan kedatangan bush ke Indonesia, tepatnya ke Istana Bogor, yang namanya tamu, suka atau tidak suka sebagai bangsa yang bermartabat wajib kita menghormati dan memberikan hak-haknya sebagai tamu, apalagi dia bukan datang sebagai tamu yang tak diundang

cuma saya sedikit gegetun melihat persiapan yang dilakukan pemerintah kita untuk menyambut kedatangannya, kayaknya kok sangat berlebihan dan menghamburkan hamburkan uang serta semakin menyiratkan betapa besar ketakutan bush terhadap keselamatan dirinya

saya jadi teringat cerita mengenai khalifah pertama dalam Islam, Abu Bakar As-Shidiq yang sangat sederhana dan tak pernah memiliki pengawal dibangunkan kala tertidur berbantalkan pelepah pohon kurma selepas dzuhur dipelataran masjid oleh tamu dari negara yang jelas bukan negara sahabat yang kagum sekaligus heran melihat ketenangan, kepercayaan dan kepasrahan dirinya yang begitu hebat. kembali ke pada persiapan pemerintah, bayangkan beberapa minggu sebelum hari H-nya saja persiapan yang dilakukan sangat menyita energi dan perhatian rakyat mulai dari pembuatan landasan heli di kebun raya yang rencananya akan dibongkar lagi setelah hanya sekali dipakai, penghentian armada pesawat komersial di bandara Halim Perdanakusumah, pengalihan dan penutupan jalan di bogor dan sekitarnya, pemberhentian operasi angkot dan bus, penutupan kantor kantor, himbauan tidak keluar rumah, pengacakan frekuensi telepon genggam serta yang parah peliburan sekolah sekolah di bogor

belum lagi ditambah demo-demo yang marak dilaksanakan di berbagai pelosok negeri yang sebagian besar menolak kedatangan presiden AS itu yang posisinya sekarang sedang dalam keadaan yang tidak menguntungkan karena kekalahan partai republik dalam pemilu sela di AS

saya sebagai wong cilik sih cuma bisa berharap Insya Allah hasil dari kedatangan bush yang cuma 6 jam itu lebih baik dan mampu menutupi kerugian dan dampak sosial yang terjadi bahkan sebelum masa kedatangannya. Kebayang gak sih, pemkot bogor saja mengalolasikan dana 6 milyar rupiah khusus untuk menyambut bush, belum ditambah kerugian terhitung dan tak terhitung yang terjadi karena hal-hal diatas

coba dengan uang sebesar itu berapa banyak sekolah bisa dibangun, berapa juta buku bisa dibeli, berapa banyak puskesmas bisa disehatkan? saya sih bukan orang pintar memang, tapi sebagai rakyat saya lebih suka melihat hal-hal konkrit yang berdampak langsung kekehidupan kita sebagai rakyat, bukan janji-janji tinggi membuai yang akhirnya perlahan hilang tersapu waktu
