Nylon Stamps are the latest version of stamps on the planet.  Although there are numerous types of stamps in industry like metal stamps, simple rubber stamps, embossed stamps and etc but Nylon stamps are the best in results, durability and usage. In metal stamp making industry brass stamps have been playing a very special role in past because of their durability and confidentiality.

And they are still in use in many of the purposes such as sealing governmental parcels and packets or for stamping hard and embossed stamp prints on different type of surfaces across the world.

I have been thinking since 20 years that I would write a detailed book on brass stamp making procedure meanwhile industry has moved towards Nylon Stamps rapidly and I started making Nylon stamps for my customers instead of brass etched stamps that’s why I wrote this book on Nylon stamp making before launching a book on metal stamp making procedure.

And for simple gray vulcanized rubber stamps I will have to say that they are now out of the industry in all sense because Nylon and common gray rubber stamps are for the same use in industry and majority of the people prefer to use nylon stamps because of their 100 percent result on paper. All stamp makers know very well that with rubber stamps we cannot prepare a stamp that contains a half tone photo graph on it but with nylon we can do so. The reason is Nylon needs to be exposed and simple rubber stamp is composed with a number of solid, lead digits. Therefore in one aspect the simple rubber stamp becomes heavy over Nylon stamp and that is official confidentiality because a melted rubber stamp cannot be arranged without a managed stock of thousands solid lead digits that’s why simple rubber stamp gets the worth of uniqueness comparatively with modern nylon stamps.

Nylon stamps making is not so hard job to do as the rubber stamp was in previous century. Anyone can easily learn Nylon stamp making maximum within a day. Actually modern Nylon stamp making is a formula based technique and not so heavy skill. In this book I am going to explain each and everything about Nylon Stamp making in deep details and I am sure that if you want to learn making a much enhanced Nylon Stamp you will definitely be able to be a great stamp maker after reading and following this book thoroughly.

It means that one should not adopt this business ever because maybe sometime their stamp harms someone in some sense. Therefore immigration departments of the world have changed their rules and regulations much better and there is not any danger of misusing rubber stamp now in there. Although many sensitive departments of Governments have designed their system most secure now but still there is great danger in adopting stamp making professionally. It shouldn’t be adopted by anyone because of its sensitive position among other printing field dangers.

So you are requested humbly that if you are looking for making an illegal stamp please don’t do that for the sake of humanity. You are at least a human and all other humans depend upon you because a human is a unit of human civilization and society. If one of us becomes corrupted all humans are affected by him. I thought thousand times when I made my mind to write this book to facilitate to the genuine stamp makers, that weather should I write this book or not. But there were two goals in front of me; one was of our foundation I mean screenprintingvideotutorials to support the foundation with a very good worth earning skill like stamp making. And the second objective was actual help of those who really want to be a legal stamp maker. A legal stamp maker means authorized from Government for making rubber stamp.

Anyway, now what I want to say is that follow the instructions bellow while making rubber/polymer/nylon stamp for people/companies.

1. Always ask for authority letter when your client asks you for making a stamp of someone else instead of himself.

2. Always avoid making governmental stamp until you are selected via tenders that are published in national news papers by those Governmental offices and you have official documents for making rubber stamp.

3. Never get engaged with such activities that are not so harmful and seem minor crimes like making student identity cards, hostel bills, buss tickets, cinema tickets and a lot of shits that frequently people don’t consider a bigger crime.

4. Always try to prefer kids’ toy stamps, general stamps such as date stamps, time stamps, numbering stamps etc.

5. A great stamp maker is an artist in deed and has a prestige in society. Don’t forget that as stamp maker you have responsibilities on you from your society, so you should be careful all the time throughout your stamp making career.

Eligibility

One who has following qualities is eligible for being a Stamp Maker,

1. A stamp maker should be of above than 25 years old.

2. A stamp maker should have good understanding of the sensitivity of this business in all senses.

3. A Stamp maker should have sufficient knowledge of Government laws of official documents.

4. A stamp maker should pass some necessary examinations that are often offered by Government organizations about civil laws to citizens via news paper ads or websites.

5. A Stamp Maker should have the courage to face those people who enforce you to make an illegal stamp for them and should have the courage to inform government about those persons.

6. A Stamp maker should have a beautiful mind and sympathy for humans and never need to be greedy for illegal money for him or for his children.

7. A stamp maker needs little know how about rubbers/nylons natures and little understanding of chemicals, i.e. chemistry knowledge of at least high school level.

8. A stamp maker should get the training from some reliable stamp making training institute who provides complete awareness and details of stamp making and this business.

9. A stamp maker should have a following places for work,

• Single Office
• Single Workshop Room
• Single Dark Room

10. A stamp maker needs the material which has been described in next chapter “Materials used in Stamp Making”.

Light Sensitive Nylon

Yes, the main item of making a rubber stamp is rubber/nylon itself, but with light sensitive ability. Light sensitive or photosensitive means the material which sense the Ultra Violet Rays. There are many chemical compounds  behave like light sensitive but potassium dichromate is the best one for printing and exposing purposes and has been used in since long time.

Potassium dichromate or potassium bicromate are the same thing. You may purchase it simply from any of the chemical store in your city. It’s an orange color powder; you will have to make a solution of potassium dichromate with pure and clean water if you need it use in. but for stamp making there is no need to purchase any type of potassium dichromate at all because the vulcanized rubber has already been vulcanized with some light sensitive compound like potassium dichromate. For stamp making you will simply purchase the light sensitive polymer and that’s it.

What does light sensitive Nylon do in stamp making?

It does nothing, therefore something happens to it. I mean when you expose the nylon in light (sunlight or UV light) it will be affected by the UV rays. Ultra violet rays make the nylon harden from the places where light rays have directly touched its surface and the rest of the nylon piece is still normal. Thus you expose the prints or designs on your nylon sheet.

An exposed nylon sheet is ready for being developed and engraved now. After exposing the nylon in ultra violet rays you need to develop it with some chemical solutions like perchloroethene and butanol etc. We are going to cover it next chapters.

So the main items used in polymer stamp making are only a light sensitive nylon and some very simple chemical liquid compounds, butanol and perchloroethene.
