I went to Maria La Gorda, reported to be one of the best scuba diving locations in Cuba when I was down there in November. Here's my quick summary;What I Liked:- the diving, was average to good Caribbean quality- the resort rooms were clean, comfortable and very close to the beach and dive shop- the white sandy beach was top notch and not crowded- friendly divemasters- lots of dive sites

I recently saw the adventure comedy movie Fool's Gold which was based in the Caribbean. I was impressed with the nice scuba diving scenes throughout the movie. The water was clear and the coral reefs were visible. These scenes did give the viewer a decent idea of what the real underwater world would be like except I didn't see much fish in these scenes.
