Only a couple of weeks until Windfall in Antigonish!

When I apply for shows in the spring, fall seems very far away. So much time to prepare.

Except there isn’t and suddenly its almost here and there is still so much to do. But I take comfort in the fact that most of the other 69 artisans are in the same boat, at least the ones I talk to anyway.

So I will keep plugging away at my list. And I won’t get it all done because my list is never reasonable. And then the show will be here and even though I don’t have everything finished, it will be fun to talk to everyone and I will forget that I was ever worried about it.

And then I will repeat the whole process for the next show.

This past weekend we braved the weather and explored Isle Madame in Richmond County, Cape Breton.

Driving wind, rain and freezing temperatures, and it was still beautiful.

There are lots of little rocky beaches surrounding Arichat Harbour, perfect conditions for sea glass.

We stopped at four of the beaches and gathered glass. I may have wimped out a bit because of the cold. It’s hard to pick up glass when your fingers are frozen. But I tried.

Keith gets the prize for the best piece. A gorgeous hunk of purple. The prize is bragging rights which he took full advantage of.

Naturally.

This is the haul, not bad for a cold, rainy day. We will definitely go back in the warmer weather, such a beautiful place!

It’s easy to love where you live when a five minute stroll can take you here. The Dartmouth waterfront is perfect for a lunchtime walk. And you never know what you might find.

And this perfect pink, all tucked in exactly where I found him.

There’s even company to be had if you’re still for a little while.

And a short ferry ride to Halifax should the mood hit.

But you’ll probably want to stay in Dartmouth
