Twenty percent of women will get varicose veins during pregnancy. This is because of all the extra weight, pressure and blood flowing through a woman’s body.

Avoid Leg Edema

A woman’s body should have compression support during pregnancy. There are maternity tights available that are much like pantyhose. They compress the woman’s legs, hips, back and stomach to help decrease high blood pressure in the veins. High blood pressure causes swelling and discomfort called leg edema. Maternity tights help the blood flow more easily and not clot and bulge in one place, causing varicose veins and leg edema.

Compression hose are seamless and light. They are comfortable for women to wear because of all the heft and unbalance they feel when in their heavier months of pregnancy. Compression hose will also take some of the strain from the lower abdomen and back. This strain is felt obviously because of the added weight from the fetus but also because twice the amount of blood is flowing through her body and putting pressure in her pelvis and legs.

When you are pregnant be sure to find maternity tights to wear on days where you have to stand or sit for long amounts of time. This causes blood to pool in one area and eventually bulge in the veins. Seamless socks, maternity tights or compression hose will alleviate this pressure and help you get through your pregnancy comfortably.

Runners know that part of training for a marathon is having good footcare. By taking care of your feet your run will be that much more successful and comfortable.

Footcare revolves around your running clothing; specifically the type of socks you choose. Many runners I know have severe toe pain along with toe and foot blisters due to that annoying seamed rope at the toe of socks.

Even without running a marathon that hard seam at the toe of socks can be irritating enough to cause a blister. If you are experiencing troubles with toe pain or blisters buy yourself a pair of seamless socks and see if that eases your condition.

Varicose veins can be anything from threatening your life to just being unattractive. You need to find out from your doctor what is causing your veins to become thrombosed.

Usually varicose spider veins are caused by sitting too long OR standing too long. Yes, that is confusing.

If you stand for a prolonged period of time this puts pressure on your legs and causes the veins to bulge. When you sit for too long this causes blood to pool and circulation to be slightly cut off and blood collects in veins and this causes enlargement.

Varicose veins can be treated of course by exercise. It is important to get circulation through your legs and it’s also important not to exercise for too long and make the pressure worse. Do some walking and then elevate your legs so no circulation is cut off.

Wearing varicose veins stockings can be incredibly comforting because these varicose veins stockings put light pressure on your legs. The pressure is tighter near the ankle and becomes less tight going up the leg.

Varicose veins stockings work by sending the blood that slugs in your lower extremities back to your heart. When you are standing for a very long time or sitting upright with little movement the stockings compression force these veins to “pump”. This will keep them from engorging and therefore becoming varicose.

Varicose veins treatment varies however it is never bad to wear seamless varicose vein stockings to help your legs cope with this problem.

Foot health is one of the main concerns for people suffering diabetes. Because diabetes often limits a person’s sensual awareness of their feet, sufferers should consider using seamless socks to reduce the likelihood of developing foot blisters.

Did you know that about 1 in 6 people with diabetes will have a foot ulcer at least once in their lifetime. What’s worse is that people with diabetes are 25 more likely to lose their foot or leg as a result of developing a foot ulcer. Seamless socks can help reduce the chances of foot ulcers.

Infection or gangrene of the foot are also common afflictions for people with diabetes.

Foot ulcers are often caused by poor blood circulation.

Many seamless socks are specifically designed to reduce irritation of the foot and leg and also stimulate blood flow through them.

Seamless socks often are designed to conform to the leg, eliminating pressure spots and bunching of the sock. Because people with diabetes often have a difficult time recognizing foot irritation, seamless socks make sense.

Seamless socks also help reduce swelling and arthritis pain in the foot and lower leg.

Unfortunately, most regular socks you’d buy at the store do not provide the level of protection against foot blisters that seamless socks do.

Seamless socks are some of the most comfortable socks you can buy, but they can be lifesavers for people with tactile defensiveness.

Tactile defensiveness is a condition caused by neurological disorganization in the part of the brain that filters incoming stimuli. Because the brain cannot process and sort out all of the incoming data, the body is overwhelmed with information.

Tactile defensiveness can lead to producing high levels of distress in people who do not wear seamless clothing.

Because the skin of a tactile defensive person is extremely sensitive, clothing tags and seams can be awfully irritating, to the point where the person would refuse to wear clothing or would opt for full-body sweat suits even in hot weather.

Footwear often causes big problems suffering from this condition. Because most socks contain seams, they can unintentionally bunch up inside of shoes and spur a lot of irritation.

By using seamless socks, or even toe seamless socks that have individual sleeves for each toe, the sock is more fitted to the foot and will reduce the level of irritation a person might have.

Whether or not you or someone you know suffers from tactile defensiveness, seamless socks are an excellent alternative to normal socks and don’t look odd at all. They are just more comfortable socks.

Children with sensory defensiveness need special attention when it comes to clothing.

Sensory defensiveness is a condition characterized by “a tendency to react negatively or with alarm to sensory input which is generally considered harmless or non-irritating,” according to wikipedia.

Children who suffer from this condition often show a negative reaction toward clothing tags and seams that wouldn’t be noticed by most people. As a result, kids must seek out garments that won’t irritate their skin.

Whether real or imagined, the irritation brought on by seams and tags can make clothes unwearable by some children.

If you don’t have any seameless socks, you can try turning your child’s socks inside-out. They will be exposed to less-irritatng surfaces.

In the meantime, you should consider buying a pair of seamless socks to try out with your child.
