A Tricky Decision in Gokaiger

Well Gokaiger's coming to an end and I kinda want to see the action conclusion. So here's what's been going on.

Goushi of Zyuranger managed to return from Heaven. He actually tells the Gokaigers to use the Ultimate Treasure to beat Zangyack but...

One has to admire what happened. The Gokaigers see what real treasure is- their friendship with the various Super Sentai heroes. So moral here is that your friends are more important than all the treasure in the world. The decision was to actually destroy the Ultimate Treasure. Woohoo! What a selfless decision!

Just some belated Zyuranger action, one can't help but remember Geki getting his late brother Burai's armor and Zyusouken.

On the other hand, one has to brace through the destruction of Akudosu Gill.

Totally Crack Pairings for Power Rangers Fans New to Super Sentai

Well this is just an idea that Chris X gave me from this blog entry based on a Zyuranger pairing talk. Now it's time to explore what could get SUPER CRACK! For all Power Rangers fans who are new to the original work of Super Sentai, beware NEVER to do these pairings!

Here they are and laugh all you want and I wish you can all comment why these pairings will NEVER work:

The first to think of is Burai x Mei which is totally crack. While Tommy and Kimberly definitely can work it out in MMPR but these two are NOT Tommy and Kimberly in any way. Tommy is definitely not a substitute for Burai and Mei is definitely different from Kimberly so this really is a NO-NO in Zyuranger. Chris X's statement is TOTALLY right- this is one that if you want to get crack, try pairing them but it will NEVER WORK as there is zero basis, no chemistry. Mei can work out with Geki but definitely not Burai plus his time was short anyway to get lovey dovey with her. As said, MMPR deviates much from Zyuranger's dinosaur theme so much forget the parallelism between the rangers is NON-EXISTENT.

If Burai x Mei is isn't the only one for Zordon arc fans to crack with, here's another- Kenta Date and Chisato Jougasaki. One the official pairing is Chisato Jougasaki x Kouichiro Endo and two, Kenta Date is NOT Andros in terms of personality and three Chisato Jougasaki isn't like Ashley Hammond in any way. Oh did I forget to mention that Megaranger is NOT a space themed show compared to its adaptation Power Rangers in Space? Again much deviance here. Groping Chisato doesn't equal he's got her.

For those who saw the Wild Force episode "Reinforcements from the Future" should have seen the pairing of Lucas x Nadira. However one has to see this- Ayase x Lila is another totally crack pairing. Why? Well unlike Nadira, Lila didn't change for the better.

Maybe we can also have Mikoto Nakadai and Ranru Itsuki. Dino Thunder is unique in its own way so don't bother comparing Trent Fernandez (who is not as tough ass as Mikoto) to Mikoto Nakadai and Kira Ford to Ranru Itsuki. Personalities are kinda too different.

Hoji Tomasu and Umeko Kodou- If you're watching Power Rangers SPD before seeing Dekaranger, there's the Sky x Syd among fans though they were not an official couple (though they did was change each other for the better and a chemistry was there). However with Hoji x Umeko, there hasn't been much interaction between them chemistry-wise compared to Hoji x Jasmine (again not an official pairing) though the writer himself could have done so if he wanted. So I believe this is another good one to avoid.

Gunpei Ishihara and Saki Royama could be another. Again RPM and Go-onger differ too much so don't even bother. RPM is dark and Go-onger is wacky- two differently handled series.

Well I wonder who are going next to the list? This is all about EPIC FAIL! LOL! So to all Power Rangers fans who are just so new to the original that is Super Sentai, take your time to learn the difference between the original and the adaptation before drawing any conclusions.

Basco Finally Bit the Dust

Finally the biggest SOB of Gokaiger has now bit the dust. One has to admit that he's the worst nuisance villain ever.

Last we remembered Basco took over the Gokai Galleon and he was almost unstoppable.

However the Gokaigers managed to get even AT LAST.

It's an intense battle between former comrades. After a dramatic battle...

Basco finally meets his end. Oh boy, finally he's down! Well he got what he deserved. He seems to be at the same level with Radiguet, Long and Abrella. There goes my favorite Gokaiger villain!

Also there was a cameo from these guys...

Well too bad Red Mask didn't make a cameo. Oh Sho Hayate gained weight that I could barely recognize him but it was nice for them to make a cameo. But I was disappointed they dint' have an extended role. :-(

What the? Triforce of Wisdom? Zelda? Just kidding. Looks like the finale is just around the corner. Can't wait to see how it'll end.

Dragon Based Sentai Villains

Happy Chinese New Year! While the heroes brought their treats, so did the villains. Here are the dragon based villains who's coming to crash your party:

Prince Salamandes- The fourth son of Grandienne, demon of fire calamnity. He started out pretty cute as Drop but he became a monster thanks to Zylpheeza's demise and him inheriting the star gem.

Ryuon- He's a man with dragon genes in him from Lemuria. One of his monsters Talong was based on a Chinese dragon and a master of Feng Shui. His faction in Boukenger was also dragon-based.

Long- He's actually a five headed dragon with all five heads working in unison. The dragon is the fifth in the Chinese zodiac too.

Super Sentai's Dragon Warriors

In honor of the Chinese new year, I am going to do a review on the dragon based Sentai warriors as they appeared. They are...

Hiryu Tsurugi/Change Dragon- The first dragon themed red ranger. He's a pretty emotional individual despite being a responsible leader.

Burai/Dragon Ranger- First sixth ranger of the Super Sentai franchise, first dragon themed ranger to pilot an actual dragon mecha. He is also Geki's brother, a villain at the start and died a hero in the end. He could be the template to Mikoto but I could be wrong.

Ryou/Ryuuranger- The second red ranger to have a dragon theme. He uses fire and lightning attacks. He has a fiery passion in battle.

Ryunosuke Ikenami/Shinken Blue- He like a dragon can be pretty emotional and unstable as water. He's also the first blue ranger to have a dragon theme.

Alata/Gosei Red- Perhaps the only dragon ranger who's not as fierce as he has a bubbly personality. He has the ability to see the true essence of things even out of suit.

I'm Pretty Excited For the Basco Battle

Henshin Grid provided some very exciting screen shots that could point out to a thrilling drama. Here are some things that would be a good twist:

Captain Marvelous is injured. Oh my. How are they going to recover? I pretty expect a thriller to that. This fight is pretty personal considering the two had a past.

Basco laughs disturbingly as he gets control of the Gokai Galleon. I wonder if any Sentai seniors will show up to help in the battle. I guess this will monsterize him and I hope the writers monsterize him so much we'd say yeah after he dies. So one episode isn't enough to cover the awesome evilness of Basco. Two parter is more like it and I hope he dies an epic death.

So Sally has defected from Basco or is it? Apparently nobody wants to be the pet of a SOB like Basco. Basco's just been monsterized all the more and I'm loving it.

Ninjas in Sentai Before Kakuranger

Yasuko Kobayashi's Contribution to Sentai

Since I've heard from some of my fellow bloggers that this talented woman Yasuko Kobayashi was writing for Gobusters so I do expect a good work from her no more no less. I'd like to give her credit for her involvement in Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Den-O and Kamen Rider OOO as well.

So here's what I think were here contributions to Sentai:

Gingaman is her very first Sentai work after she was involved in Megaranger. Fantasy Leader calls it his favorite Sentai. So how do I feel about it? Apparently just in my opinion, Yasuko Kobayashi knows the right recipe for a good show. It seems that she mixed several ideas with new ones. For example, it has Flashman influence like the idea of a lost galaxy and the civilian attires. It had a little bit of Zyuranger where the red ranger has an older brother (but he wasn't fought at first) in Ryouma and Hyouga. Also, the villains were introduced in a pirate motif for the villains.

Maybe Yasuko Kobayashi's most popular work is Timeranger. Actually Timeranger is pretty much of where the cliche but liked idea of time travel is put to greater work. Four people 1,000 years in the future go to the year 2,000 and meet a man with family problems who becomes their driving force. Talk about star-crossed! This was perhaps her darkest work, darker than Gingaman. This also had some cooperation from Toshiki Inoue. This show also had a "shock value death" in Naoto/Time Fire being taken out by a mere Zenitto. The series was well-praised by many. Also I liked how she managed to make a tribute episode after the final episode which was pretty funny compared to the series in itself.

Her third masterpiece is Shinkenger and this series happens to be my favorite masterpiece from her. Okay some fans say that this is not her best work but it's NOT BAD. For me, this is an awesome work of hers. It's not so dark, not so serious and to be honest, it's really her first Japanese-oriented Sentai. I think she wrote the best Japanese-based theme for Sentai ever. So what did Shinkenger do? Apparently it revives some nostalgia in an indirect way like 80s-90s Sentai with modern Sentai. The concept of samurais were just teasers in the past until she took the idea and made it a reality in this show. Basically Shinkenger seems to be where she got a lot of old ideas, mixed them and modified them to this show.

In between, she was also the sub-writer for Gogo V and Boukenger according to TV Tropes.

Naruhisa Arawaka's Contributions to Sentai

Well I guess it's time to give tribute to Anime writer Naruhisa Arakawa for his quality writing in Super Sentai and let's not forget, he wrote Kamen Rider Kuuga for all you who also like Kamen Rider. Now it's time to see his contributions to Sentai:

Abaranger was his first masterpiece where he actually does beat Zyuranger and I regret not immediately liking the show. What were his contributions? Perhaps they are a happier ending for what could have ended for tragic love (Asuka x Mahoro), a more all around scientist (Ranru), a bad chef who can't see his flaws (Yukito, love that gag) and perhaps that of Mikoto. Mikoto was a pretty interesting character since his bad boy term was a lot longer than his good guy term... making him more kickass than Burai. Burai is nowhere near the coolness of Mikoto. How he handled Mikoto is really radically cool, bad-ass and what I'd call really crazy.

Dekaranger is the next one and perhaps what I'd count his greatest masterpiece of all time. Compared to traditional Super Sentai, this one is pretty different. In what way? Instead of fighting against an entire organization like usual, the main villain Abrella is never known to the Dekarangers until later in the series. Also instead of having a monster of the week, it's more of the criminal of the week which is unique. It's sort of like crime, suspense and comedy rolled so well you'd get a totally different season different from most Super Sentai so this is my favorite work from him.

And Gokaiger. Well Gokaiger is really more nostalgic than Boukenger was for an anniversary season. Naruhisa Arakawa knows how to handle lots and lots of guest stars with the help of other writers and above all, really created a cast of pretty interesting characters to go with. Although not my top favorite work of his but still, it's worth the wait with awesome episodes. Perhaps he also took ideas from other Anime concerning aliens fighting to save the Earth from an invading force as well as One Piece as a loose inspiration.

Super Sentai Tagalog Dubs with Tagalog Songs Inserted

Super Sentai before the dawn of Power Rangers in the Philippines was a way of life. So far, there have been some Tagalog dubs and many of them happen to have gags perhaps so the audience can understand the song. So here are they:

In Turboranger episode six, an old man was singing "Anak ng Pasig" (Child of Pasig) in the dub.

In Jetman episode 15, Ako Hayasaka in the dub sang "AKO ay Pilipino." (I'm a Filipino) Pun intended.

Well... here's my closing thoughts just for fun.

Shinkenger should be dubbed in Filipino and let Genta sing "Si Filimon." to replace whatever Japanese folk song he sang.

Hirohisa Soda's Contributions to Sentai

Although Hirohisa Soda is no longer a head writer but I believe that his LONG involvement really did influence Sentai a lot. Here are the seasons I think brought his contribution via each series. This is my tribute for my childhood too.

Goggle V was the first to introduce creative writing and the idea of ending it with a "V" like how Gogo V was later named. Gogo V sounds to close to Goggle V though they are hardly similar. It also introduced the concept of biologically created monsters.

The Dynamen were the first team to wear spandex. Also it was the first to feature racist villains based on Earth rather than being an alien. Oh yeah this was the first series to have a ninja in the team too!

Bioman introduced the concept of electronic abilities (later used in Megaranger). Also Mika Koizumi despite her early demise made an impact of creating tougher females and I believe Natsumi and Chisato were tributes to her. Bioman had the first humanoid robot assistant. Gear introduced the concept of a mad scientist, a strongman beast and an acrobatic female as villains. In the Bioman movie she had a team that probably inspired the Hanarangers. Natsumi was a rebellious yellow ranger in red and Chisato was a photographer. Also this show hinted that sooner or later, a sixth ranger would come. However Yamamatori (Jun's lover) got his powers from Gear instead. This was also the season where villains started to get more personal and showed a wider dimension of personality.

Changeman introduced more mature concepts into Super Sentai and the idea of mythical creatures later used in Dairanger. It was also the first to introduce an enemy who is way bigger than the rest of the mecha as Bazoo was really a living planet. Also it introduced the first monster-enlarging agent too.

Flashman introduced the concept of a "lost galaxy" which may have also inspired Gingaman. It also introduced some cool sci fi costumes that may have inspired the Gingamen's attires. Who knows- Lee Keflen may as well be Dr. Hinelar's template!

Maskman introduced several concepts like a martial arts based Sentai, the ki to inner power within, secondary robot that kills it pilot (he wrote a similar one in Ohranger) and not to mention tragic love of Takeru and Ial. Oh yeah, there weren't any surnames mentioned for some reason. Still Maskman made itself darker than its predecessors. Oh yeah, it's up for you to decide whether or not a red ranger named Takeru is also his contribution.

Liveman introduced the concept of academics and Sentai in one. It was also focused on revenge and redemption. In some way the formula of starting with three was later used in Hurricanger and the color coding of the first five was added to Go-onger which was a parody Sentai. It also introduced the concept of combining two robots into one.

Turboranger introduced the concept of teenagers with an attitude which was later used in Megaranger, the concept of sealed enemies, car based mecha and the first base robot. Maybe Yamimaru and Kirika do deserve tribute as they were the first anti-hero couple to show up, probably inspiring Rio and Mele. Not surprisingly he was also a secondary writer in Carranger which was apparently inspired by Turboranger.

Fiveman introduced the concept of a family Sentai which was later used for Gogo V and Magiranger, two series better than it. Otherwise this was just where his writing really slowed down. But otherwise the concept left behind.

Well we had our list of bad cooks, now it's time to see those who can serve food really well. They are:

Raita Ooshi in Jetman showed he could really cook.

Kaori Rokumeikan-Tendo- Despite the fact she's a rich girl, she can COOK. Maybe her butler taught her how to cook.

Ryou- He's the best gyoza cook now in Japan as of present.

Shouhei Yokkaichi- He makes good ramen and gyoza.

Gouki- He is Gingaman's cook.

Domon- He is a master in making Soba.

Genta Umemori- He has magical fingers. He even made delicious curry rice himself.

Joe Gibken- It's obvious he's a good cook from the start. Love that time he and Ahim had.

Don Dogoier

Gai Ikari- He later becomes another cook aboard the Gokai Galleon. He and Genta should open a shop sometime.

So I hope everybody has a happy new year!

Gokaiger 199 Hero Battle Review

It's kind of late or is it? Well I'd like to write my review of Gokaiger 199 Hero Battle, perhaps the most insane Super Sentai movie that would seem to make every other special not so great. So where do I begin? The plot is somewhat taking in between the series where the Legend War against Zangyack began. The war was pretty insane when EVERY ranger in Super Sentai history including those who died (except for Daigorou, Kensaku and Mika) show up to beat up the Zangyacks. Actually Gai Yuki, Mikoto, Burai, Rio, Melee and Naoto don't have to worry much because they're dead but the living ones do. They sacrifice their powers resulting to the ghosts returning to the afterlife (I presume) and the loss of the powers of the others. So the Goseigers can't accept the fact they lost their powers decide to challenge the Gokaigers for their power back.

The good:

The whole movie was insanely action filled. The plot was somewhat where the Goseigers and Gokaigers get to know each other while focusing on hope. It was nice to see the first Sentai big bad Black Cross King return with Dagon, Buredoran and Yogoschrimaten for some intense filled action.

So we've got the Goseigers learning the true spirit of the Gokaigers. It was fun to see them first fight then later the Goseigers and Gokaigers get to know each other. Only by teaming up do they beat the three villains that Black Cross King teamed up with. Oh, that whole scene where Black Cross King used the ranger keys is just pretty awesome. The battle with the clones was fun to watch too as they were reverted back to being ranger keys. Also it was nice to see old veterans like Riki Honoo, Shiro, Kanpei, Tyuoshi, Banba, Umeko and Rei make a cameo in giving the GREATER POWER!

So there's also the final battle. It was really insane how Black Cross King created a new body for himself way bigger than the rest of the mecha which is just crazy- and I personally thought of Sosai X's transformation into Sosai Z in Gatchaman Fighter. I could compare its size to Vulgyre. The encouragement of the people was somewhat similar to the final episode of Ultraman Tiga that brought the end of the Black Cross Fuehrer. And it was so far the most well-written crossover. Kudos to Naruhisa Arawaka for such a job well done.

The bad:

Actually I'm not much of a fan of Black Cross King. Otherwise, he's the first Sosai X character of the WHOLE Sentai franchise. Well as said, there is NO perfect film but Naruhisa Arakawa does his best to keep things balanced so let's just avoid picking too much on the flaws.

How to Crash Your New Year Dinner Sentai Style!

Well here's a list of cooks you'd like to hire to make a very horrible new year party...

Be afraid, be very, very afraid... because we present...

Juri Nijou/Ohyellow, Yuuri/Time Pink (she traveled from the future to the present), Yukito Sanjyou/Abare Blue and Mako Shiraishi/Shinken Pink

Yukito will say, "Don't worry girls, we're the greatest." and start cooking one bad dish after the other.

With one bad cook to another cooperating with each other, looks like fury has never been unleashed before. The menu has chocolate coated steak, garlic coated coconut, vegetables cooked in candy syrup, strawberry flavored tofu... and all you can think! Comment on what awful dishes you can think was served!

Crazy! Well it's time. Now what do we expect for the taste?! Here's a few critics! Not really... here we GO and see our "satisfied guests"!

"What have I just eaten? I think I need my stomach pills to help me to be at ease!"

"I came back from the afterlife just to eat CRAP?! That's it I'm departing back!"

"I'd rather eat green peas which I dislike than the food today!"

"Yukito when can it get back into your mind you're not a good cook!"

"Dishes approved for deletion from the menu!"

"That was awful." FAINTS.

"What? Don't you know how to hire a good chef for your party?!"

"That was the WORST tasting dinner EVER! WHYYY???"

"Call for the medics team! Bring the stomach pills! Attack!"

"Looks like we're going to need some extra help too."

Well that's that! Hopefully some people can comment on what they'd think of such dishes.

Gokaiger's Getting Intense

After the Christmas special, there will be a more intense battle to face. So what's going on? As Gokaiger will inevitably wave their hands goodbye and leave for space then comes Gobuster, it's time share my reaction towards what Henshin Grid has given its readers. Here they are:

Episode 45-46 will have Ninjaman. I definitely think a ninja episode will be cool with Kakuranger. I do hope that the two parter will have a festive mood too.

Oh my! One of my favorite babes could be appearing. Woohoo! Talk about crazy! Is she ageless?!?

Episode 47-48 is the final battle with Basco. He's one insanely evil privateer. Now it's time to see what the deal deal was between him and Captain Marvelous. I really want to get this guy defeated once and for all. He's been trouble, trouble, trouble and I except an intense duel.

Sentai VIllains With Very Disturbing Evil Laughs

Here are some Sentai villains I believe deserve to be mentioned for their infamous evil laughs in no particular order:

Ahames, the Queen of Amazo. Most of Gozma are not even close to her cruelty and sadism.

Radiguet- He had the most disturbing evil laugh which specified that he really did something very NASTY for the whole episode. In fact, it's his happiness to really cause sufferings to people and PROLONG it. It was so boisterous and scary. Maybe he should be given the most evil laugh award.

Shaddam- While Gorma XV was scary, Shaddam is the really big evil of Dairanger. Plus it does help to know he's very uncaring even to his twin sons Kou and Akomaru.

Grandienne- One has to realize that she like Shaddam doesn't care about her own children.

Long- He laughs like any typical sadist. Though not as loud as Radiguet, one can tell he's already killed enough to satisfy him.

Akumaro- I don't know if he should be here. Some of my followers think he's a lame villain but his "ohohohoho" is just creepy IMO.

Gokaiger Christmas Made Me Feel Younger

Well there's no doubt that despite the fact I'm almost 30 in just a few years but I feel young at heart. Here are some shots from Henshin Grid to share:

It was nice of Kenji Ohba to dress up as Santa Claus while he was actually in reality playing as Shiro Akebono the first black ranger. The panda was kinda cute. Well I do get nostalgic with Gekiranger in some way.

It's nice of Gai Ikari to be here. He's a favorite among many children.

It was kinda fun seeing Gai Ikari in this form.

And here's the scene that brought me back to the past...

Kenji Ohba did play a big part in my childhood with Gavan. Those who grew up in the 90s still remmeber him to be one of the greatest Toku legends. Only if I can get his autograph. To be honest, even when he's old now but I do like watching episodes in Tokusatsu where he appears.

Also plush dolls remind me of my childhood too.

And overall, I feel young again with this episode.

Boukenger vs. Super Sentai Review

Boukenger vs. Super Sentai although it was just a short special but it was one of the coolest. Why? So I'd like to really go down bit by bit like I did with Shinkenger vs. Go-onger. Okay there's no Operation Overdrive marathon or what but I'd like to do this review anyway.

Plot:

I personally find the plot of Gaja making a deal with Chronos to be at first, just regular until Chronos becomes responsible for separating Eiji Takaoka from the Boukengers. Then comes the most unusual person in Super Sentai history- Aka Red, who is born from the wish of peace allowing him to use the powers of the red rangers in the past. Eiji Takaoka is given an address book of five chosen heroes for the script each with hilarious resuls. Chronos plans to merge Memmy, Tsuetsue and Furaibijou into one evil staff.

The good:

The short flick in itself featured some of the best characters to return like Tetsu Aira, Magishine, Nanami Nono (look good as ever), Tsubasa Ozu as a boxer and Asuka from Dino Earth. These team-ups like usual had the problem of teaming up but they do overcome it. It was kinda realistic when it comes to personalities because personalities do clash. I find it hilarious how Eiji Takaoka was refused help at first and later, surprise, they come to help him. Although Magishine wasn't one of the chosen, it was fun seeing him team up and later join the other heroes to create the Daivoyager Burning Mode to defeat Chronos once and for all.

Also the battle scenes were kinda good like how Aka Red shows some of his powers which included the Burning Daivoyager, a movie exclusive upgrade that later powers down in order to beat Chronos. Perhaps one of the best battle scenes I can name is when Aka Red teamed up with Bouken Red. Well it was also fun to see the chosen rangers clash then team up kicking the butts of the villain team of Chronos.

The bad:

I personally find the film to be well, too short for one that isn't blandly written. It should have reached at least an hour or so. Also it could have been fun if the whole Negative Syndicate appeared for the film like in the rather bland team-up of "Once a Ranger". Well since the focus of Chronos was the Philosopher's Staff so the Negative Syndicate may have become unnecessary to the plot save Gaja. Also I'd like to complain that Furaibijou only made her appearance so short... she could have been fully utilized before Chronos double-crosses her with Tsuetsue and Memmy. Hmmm... Yabaiba could have been used too you know. Oh well...

Belated Episode Reviews for Gokaiger 40-41

So far Gokaiger has been quite behind me. Heh heh. Anyway, I'd like to share my thoughts on Gokaiger episodes 40-41...

Episode 40...

The whole episode focuses on Domon's return. So he's been too kind to make an appearance.

It was nice to have the whole episode inserted in Goseiger vs. Shinkenger. It was pretty cool to explain how the Gokaigers appeared in the movie.

It was nice to have a Timeranger tribute.

This is ONE big loophole in Timeranger that's bugging me until now. It bugs me more than Ransik's sudden change of heart in the end in Time Force or where Lila is now in Timeranger. Why? How could a man from the future 1,000 years later ever produce a child with a woman from the present?! Well I'm reminded of Andy Lau's film with Barbie Xu "Future X Cop" now which IMO made more sense than the Timeranger loophole concerning Domon's son who is later named Mirai.

Certainly tears filled the eyes of Domon in the end as a result of star-crossed love.

Episode 41...

After the death of Warz Gill the crown prince, the evil emperor of a father, Akudosu Gill finally shows up after some time speculating how he looked like. Well like father, like son. But surprisingly, he does somehow care for his son by having Damarasu by being fired. If I were him, I'd rather have that guy executed! Damarasu then joins Basco to Joloika. The emperor arrives... imperial march theme please!

It was a nice Ahim de Famille episode. I'm kinda reminded of Star Wars here- Princess Leia and the destruction of Alderaan is what I remember except the destruction of her planet was not instantaneous.

Despite being a princess, she can fight. Yeah. Now I see more of a warrior spirit in her. Boy I want to rewatch Star Wars trilogy anytime! On the other hand, there's much cliche that's running through interplanetary destruction with space aliens from Sentai. Hmmm... Zangyack must have fought a lot of enemies including Vyram too!

Yukari Oshima Sings a Filipino Song

Actually many of you will know she's the one who played in Bioman as Farrah Cat. However Filipinos will also recognize her under the screen name "Cynthia Luster" where she not only played Hong Kong films but also in Filipino films like "Once Upon a Time in Manila". Now she manages to sing a Filipino song. Woohoo. Some will not be able to understand the language but enjoy!

Shinkenger vs. Go-onger Review

Not ever since the Power Rangers Samurai special appeared with Power Rangers RPM, now it's time to do my review on Shinkenger vs. Go-onger as my means of getting off my mind of the episodes "Clash of the Red Rangers Part 1 and Part 2":

The good:

Taking the whole idea from the end of Go-onger (after the defeat of the Gaiarc President), it was kinda cool to have Batcheed a remaining survivor attack. So in the process, the Shinkengers meet the Go-ongers but not without that conflict at the start to keep it realistic. Takeru Shiba a highly trained samurai at first couldn't agree with Sosuke Esumi but as they try to find their friends, they realize they need each other to defeat Batcheed and his new ally Homurakogi.

So I have to be honest- a serious show like Shinkenger being mashed with a funny show like Go-onger seems a bad idea but not at all. Why? Well, Shinkenger isn't very serious either and it was fun seeing the Shinkengers land into different Braneworlds and have different situations. The funniest were the Samurai World and the Junk World. Well the villain Batcheed himself was actually trying to cause another doomsday on Earth with the water of the Sanzu river, which isn't funny.

I think one of the greatest portion is when Batcheed tried to revive the three pollution ministers only for them to run off. Genta's expression was SO FUNNY when they didn't pay him. Yeah, Batcheed despite him being a brutal bad-ass with a funny side, doesn't need them. But still, the appearance of the three pollution ministers was a funny moment worth watching. :P

I really thought that it was cool when Takeru and Sosuke finally teamed up especially when Hikom and Bomper were kidnapped. The whole fake fight scene was so convincingly done that you thought they really died. But again, Sentai fans know that it's a dupe. So nothing new but still cool especially when they team up together after the other heroes find their way home, oh yeah Samurai Formation G23 was so great too.

The bad:

I have to admit that the short cameo of the Goseigers was for me, not necessary. There were no cameos in past VS films, but this one had to be the first to do so. Do I consider it a major nuisance? Nope. But still, I felt like it was unnecessary.
