The first episode of 'The Secret World of Og" aired on the CBC this morning. That means I'm allowed to use the animation I did for that episode in my demo reel and post it on my website. So here are a few of my scenes.

I also made a poster for the show. It didn't get used so I'm assuming its alright for me to post it here as well.

In two weeks I'm going to be moving to Halifax and starting work at Collideascope. I'm pretty nervous about it because they use flash differently there than I am used too. They do a combination of classical and symbol animation, and I've only ever done straight symbol animation. My job there is going to require alot of drawing in flash, so I've been trying to get some practice in my spare time.

Just some drawings I did in flash. It started out as a doodle of the alien from my film and then for what ever reason I decided to start drawing people dressed like him.

Also over the weekend I changed the url for my webpage. It's now www.seanbartlett.ca. The old one still works, but I'm not sure for how much longer. So if you are linking to me it might be a good idea to update it.

Superman

Not much to say about this. It's Superman so it's pretty self-explanatory. Not sure why I decided to draw Superman probably had something to do with the movie, which was pretty awesome by the way.

The whole drawing was done completely in Photoshop, from the initial sketch to the final render. This was the first time I've done that, usually when I try to clean up in Photoshop it's a disaster, so before this I always did it on paper or in Flash.

A friend asked me to make an image of a few of the stages the drawing went threw to get to completion. Here it is if anyone else is interested.

Flash Animation..... Sort of.

Ya so I said in my last post that I was going to post a flash animation in a few weeks. It's not done yet, and it will probably be a few more weeks till it is. I was making it as a surprise at my friends wedding but seeing how his wedding was last weekend, and I told him about it already, I don't have to keep it secret anymore.

For his wedding I had wanted to do a bunch of flash animations depicting things that happened in his life. It quickly became apparent that to do all of them would take way too much time, so I decided to do just one, of when he was a kid and he broke his collar bone on a water slide.

Anyways the picture I posted is of the flash model I'm using for the scene. I figured I should at least post something, I'll post the rest when it's done.

These were also done at work, though this time I probably should have been working. But it was Sunday, I didn't 'have' to be there and I felt like drawing, so I did. I'm a horrible person I know.

In my last post I forgot to thank every one who has posted comments. I really do appreciate the feedback.

I've been working on a little personal flash animation for the last few days. Its a secret though, so I can't post any of it yet. I will be able to show it in about 2 weeks, for anyone that wants to see it.

Did this at work when I didn't have anything to do for bit.

For anyone that cares, the reason I haven't posted in such a long time is because I took a job in Nova Scotia. So I was really busy with moving(Nova Scotia is about 4000km away from Saskatchewan) and my new job is also keeping me really busy. Things have settled down a bit now, so I hope to be able to post something at least once a week.

Cintiq Drawings

I bought a Wacom Cintiq monitor a little while ago. I was kind of expensive but worth every penny. I can't imagine drawing on the computer with out it anymore. Anyways these are 3 drawings I did using the Cintiq, and yes I know Vikings didn't actually wear horned helmets. But I like my Vikings with big horns.... And my demons with big horns.... and apparently my girls with a big set of pliers. I'm not exactly sure what that all means, probably isn't good though.

This is my student film. It was finished a little over a year ago, so it's hardly new. I put a lot of work into it and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so I figured I should post it. I could drone on for hours about making the thing, but some how I don't think anyone would bother reading it.... Are you even reading this.... Probably not....Jerks...(Goes and cries in the corner)

First Post

So I finally have my blog up and running. My friend Kyle has been harassing me for months about when I was going to start a blog. He kept asking when it was going to be done and I kept telling him soon. I think after three months he stopped believing me, can't say I blame him. It may have taken a while, but I think that's justifiable, because it's a little more elaborate than the typical blog. As you may have noticed I've assimilated the blogger page to be part of an entire webpage for myself. Right now the blog is the only page that has any content though. The rest just have the flash title bar/menu thing and nothing else. I hope to have the rest of the pages all working by the end of next week.

Ok so that was a pretty boring first post. I have a tendency for needless exposition, but now that that's out of my system I can move on to something more interesting.
