The competition is set up to help you learn and develop further your skills as a photographer, whatever your level of expertese . It is also your chance each month to see if you can get a coveted Bronze, Silver, Gold or even a Platinum Bar from the Guild. I am very pleased to have won 3 Bronze awards for the Month of January 2012. The Guild of Professional Photographers describe this award as “Bronze bar rated images are those of a high standard at professional competition level. Silver bar rated images are those of a very high standard at professional competition level and are very difficult to achieve. It’s something to be proud of”.

Interesting exorcizes today compositing 2 images together using Photoshop and light room . The background image of Plymouth City Centre was shot on my Iphone 4 at around dusk, the other picture of Alex was shot on location using 3 Nikon speed lights set on manual. So using quick selection in Photoshop make my composite, then drop it onto the background and adjust using free transform. This is my first attempt at this process. Looking forward to my next attempt on this project.

Dick Whittington and his Cat

Rats and their conflict with Tommy the Cat are central to the story, but without the help of Fairy Bowbells where would the story end? The tale starts in Liskeard and then moves to London and Morocco before the triumphal return to London. The script contains brilliant banter and plenty of slapstick along with one of the best baddy’s roles in pantomime, King Rat.
Rehearsals are well under way, the cast are enjoying this production and the success of the pantomime is assured with the inclusion of the superb, critically acclaimed and ever popular Lions Dancers…
