MLB Parlay Advice

Good morning to all my hustlers grinding this week. I'm back with some more Parlay advice regarding today's Major League Baseball Games and I want to let you all know that I am available for personal consultation if you need.

Not only do I plan on sharing free betting advice for my blog readers but I am now available to take your phone calls and help each of you manage your gambling money properly.

With that said I am not going to share to many risk taking bets that I get the itch to place but instead I plan on sharing only what I believe to be guaranteed winners. I personally have over 70% WINNING PERCENTAGE with my sports picks but I would hate for any of you to bet big on my other 30 percent.

With my debut parlay of the day I suggested a 6 team parlay that would have turned $5 into $200.
personally I take those type of risks all day , everyday but for my fellowship and all you beginners out there I realized I need to be more accurate. I want all of us to win and all of our stash pots to grow. Therefore for future reference I will be sure to give each of you locks to win and I will keep the risk taking to myself.

Today we are going with a 2 team MLB Parlay. We are down to the final four in the MLB playoffs this year and both of today's picks have there backs against the wall. Today's MLB picks are the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Watching Yasiel Puig is always entertaining but usually this time of the year its a less famous face that make the unforgettable play, like what Shane Robinson did last night with the pinch hit homer to win the game. Either both team are at home and hungry for a win. Obviously 2 team parlay don't payout as much at the 6 team tickets and with today's picks $5 would only payout $9.67

That's peanuts and for most of us it would be a waste of time so I suggest placing a $20 bet on the two teams to double your money. We all got to get a bank roll moving in the right direction and today's 2 team parlay with help with that. There is plenty of action going on today between Soccer, NBA and the NHL but I want you to be able to trust me with my picks and advice so today we are going with the sure bet.

If for some reason your not happy with the payout feel free to add a another team to your parlay. Personally I was thinking about adding the Anaheim Ducks and the Washington Capital to make to a 4 team. With the NHL additions we could turn $10 into $75 but the more teams you add on that parlay, the more your decreasing your chance of turning a profit.

So in conclusion today's suggestion is a two MLB team parlay and if you follow my lead you should turn a profit. If your looking to bet bigger and a need a personal consultation I am available.

Parlay of the Day

Attention Sports Fans! Today I will be launching the debut of a new segment called the Parlay of the Day. Most you already know I recently joined Fanduel and blogged about it but long before Fantasy Football, I was placing bets on all types of sporting events. It might have started in Junior High School wagering Basketball Cards or lunch money but today I get play for real money and since I pay so much attention to the games I thought it would a great time to share my predictions with my blog readers.

Today we have some interesting action in sports. Hockey just started, Baseball is in Playoff mode and the NFL Thursday night match up should be a lot close than the general public would assume. If your really crazy like me, you can even check out the preseason NBA games. It all pays out so check out my prediction below and let me know what you think.

Today's Parlay of the Day is 6 team parlay and a combination of all 4 major sports. The biggest underdog is the New York Giants but with Eli Manning and Victor Cruz healthy, the Giant could pull it off an upset. We all know Jay Cutler throws plenty interceptions that keep his opponents in games and I'm guessing the Giants have to be the more hungry team tonight. I'm think of actually thinking about betting more on the Giants game. $100 would win $280 and total $380. That is very similar to the line the New York Giants faced when they played an undefeated patriots team in the Super Bowl a few years back. I won that bet then and I got the same feeling about tonight's game.

I have already placed my bet on Today's Parlay of the Day but am also thinking about removing the Giants from the parlay and placing a parlay with remaining 5 teams. I think every suggestion tonite is also worth an individual bet and the good thing about the Oakland A's suggestions is they get the run and half. being at home with two ace pitchers at their disposal will make that run and half spot almost irresistible.

ESPN Streak for the Cash

What's Up Planet Rock? Sorry it took so long for me to blog since my last entry but I have been extremely busy working on my Album and Autobiography. It has been awhile but I have a ton of exciting info to share this fall, so you can be to expect plenty of Blogger activity from me over the next few weeks. Today I want to share with you an ESPN fantasy game I have played for the past few years. I play several fantasy sport games online for cash prizes but ESPN's Streak for the Cash has certainly become one of my favorites and to be honest... it's probably the most important game available online. Not only is the game Free to play, but Today marks day one of a new Calendar month and this months Jackpot has swelled to $300,000 cash money.

The first thing you need to know about ESPN's streak for the Cash is there is a new contest each month. You basically have each calendar month to build the longest consecutive winning streak by picking from a list of selected sporting events. You Predict the winner of ONE of the listed match ups and once the match up is final you can select the winner of another match up that hasn't started yet. Build the longest winning streak each month or the most correct picks each month and you will win cash money from ESPN and Progressive Insurance.

Lakers get Dwight Howard, A center with Pride

It took nearly three years but it is official as of today. Dwight Howard is now a Los Angeles Laker. If it wasn't for Andrew Bynum's injury this trade would have taken place years ago. For most Lakers fans we wish it would have but eventually destiny was inevitable. The delay to trade for Bynum and poor handling of Dwight Howard not only cost them the best center in the NBA but instead, the Orlando Magic ended up with about as much in return as they did when Shaq signed with Los Angeles as a free agent. One thing is for sure Philadelphia 76er fans are feeling like they just won the lottery after sneaking their hand in the cookie jar and ending the deal by obtaining Andrew Bynum.

For a few years after Andrew Bynum became a Laker I had high hopes he would be another great Laker center to have his Jersey retired. Unfortunately us Laker fans has to realize the hard way that Andrew Bynum never had Laker pride in his heart. I wont go so far to say Dwight Howard bleeds purple and gold but after watching his press conference you could see a totally different sense of pride. Dwight had a smile that said "Finally I am where I belong" and you could see he was extremely happy to be a Laker. It was a drastic change to the selfish Andrew Bynum. The best thing about persevering Bynums bad attitude these past few years, solely rests on the fact that Dwight will be a free agent again next summer. If Howard stays healthy 2012 should be his best year to date. Howard will not only be working to win over Laker fans, He will be working even harder in the paint to earn a max contract next summer. What there is more.... it beautiful to know that while the freak all star does his work with more aggression than ever, Howard will no longer be tripled teamed by opponents. He will even get doubled teamed much less than we assumed before the Lakers were able to keep Pau Gasol in LA. With that said I personally think it's time for a change, Dwight Howard need a complete change. No More Superman.... Long Live smeagol.

Shaq is the Real Superman and Superman only got 3 rings as a Los Angeles Laker, So what does that make Dwight Howard? Only time will tell but this 2012 Lakers team should coast to the finals and if Dwight cam make Chris Bosh cry again while keeping Lebron out the paint, the Miami Heat will be out of the picture and soon Dwight can have a dynasty of his own. Purple and Gold is not fashion or Hollywood.... it's a basketball family and global community. Showtime 2012 began when Dwight choose to rehab here in California. We all know it was only a matter of time before our fans and Laker family got it done. Dwight Howard even admitted it in his press conference, our support and our community was just to overwhelming for him to leave.

Many would say this is the best Laker team ever assembled but for the first time of my knowledge in NBA history not one, but two NBA teams will have all 5 of their starting line up composed of former all stars. It all starts this October and we all now how it is going the end. The Heat vs Lakers Finals will be and should be the most anticipated, most watched television event in NBA history. If we all stay healthy it is going to be epic but Could Shane Battier tip the scale for Miami again or will another former all star Antwan Jamison finally punch his well deserved hall of fame ticket? In a perfect Laker world Dwight Howard is going to earn his first ever League MVP and dominate like he was the product of a Wonder Woman love child fathered by the Incredible Hulk that was mostly raised by smeagol from Lord of the Rings. Dwight Howard can and has the talent around him to destroy records and lead this team to a Trophy.

I say go hard but dont blow a head gasket Dwight just remember every game counts, every stats, every victory and every hand shake. You can go down as the greatest center in Laker history and every true Laker fan would love to see that happen. We welcome the thought, we welcome you. We wash our hands of Bynum and his attitude and appreciate having a center that plays with pride. Lets Go!

Tyler Clary of Riverside wins Olympic Gold Medal

Many local media outlets are reporting the news after Riverside native Tyler Clary claimed Olympic gold this past week in London. Many have reported Tyler as the first Olympic Medalist from Riverside, California but those statements are not entirely accurate. I know sports and although I don't have every Olympic stat in the CPU of my brain, I do know of a few Riverside natives that won Gold for the stars and stripes long before Tyler Clary's record shattering performance.

Don't get me confused, I do want to celebrate Tyler's Olympic effort. In fact, I am very, very proud of the man and I believe that pride is deeper rooted than most Americans, being a Riverside native myself, the victory is certainly more meaningful. Tyler is a beast of a shark in the pool and coming off the wall he destroyed his own teammate and 2008 Gold Medalist Ryan Lochte being 2012's first to the finish. It's great to see my city and it's citizens doing great things. I too had my kids in pool yesterday with references to Michael Phelps and Tyler Clary. Not only do I feel the pride but I am seeing and hearing it amongst my community and I'm loving the energy it's created.

Tyler Clary and our 2012 USA Swim Team has really made us proud but I still wanted to set the record straight and remember the past Olympians from my hometown. It was 1984 when Riverside Poly Graduate Cheryl Miller lead the US Women's Basketball Team to a Gold Medal. 12 years later after not being selected to the 1992 Dream Team, Cheryl's younger brother and Poly High graduate Reggie Miller lead the US Men's team of 1996 to Olympics Gold. I know of this events like I know My birthday and I have basketball cards that even commemorate the events.

Tyler Clary is surely the first Olympic medalist from Riverside, Ca but personally I think Tyler Clary is the first to ever accomplish the feat in any singles event. Honestly I am still researching to be sure and take mental notes but all indications say Tyler has done something that has never been done before. It is only a matter of days before he is inducted in the Riverside Sports Hall of Fame and shined with the best of the best not only here locally but across the nation as he strides the stride of an Olympic Record Holder. Congrats sir!

Today I would to celebrate Tyler achievement and Rock The Bells as we add him to our hearts and history books. I want to thank Tyler for putting Riverside on the map and showing the globe just how great of a High School we have in Riverside Poly. Tyler is a an American Hero for the rest of his life and I hope at one point he does what Reggie and Cheryl didn't do in the hometown. I hope Tyler comes home and shares his greatness with the city of Riverside. I hope he plants seeds by teaching, living in and contributing to our community not only strengthening our swimming pools but our community as whole. Tyler Clary is most likely far from perfect but he is an American hero and one of the best role models for the children of Riverside and hopefully when he has the chance he can make that impact. Riverside is proud of you Mr. Clary, Great Job. Go Poly! Go RCC! Go UCR! Go Riverside! GO TEAM USA !!!

Rare Blend found at UCR

For those that know me well enough online you know I have over 20 websites. Most of my websites are music related Like Presley-Radio.com and MutantEmcee.com, but this here is my personal blog and my personal blog is kinda of like the V.I.P. section of my online party. To keep it simple, I'll say my personal blog is reserved for me and I can feature any artist on the website of my choice. I can even have the music featured on websites I don't own but when I feature a song or band here on Sean-Presley.com I want you to already know it's important to me. Each feature has it's own significance and today I wanted to introduce you to Rare Blend, one of the newest branches of my Inland Empire music family tree.

The Rare Blend Group is a mixture of artists who met in college at UC Riverside. I first meet Jae Que (Javon Borum) and Say A (Aaron Scott) while they were hooping for my Hometown Highlanders. The two sat in on one of my studio sessions and we chopped it up about my experiences in the music industry. At the time I believed both athletes had a basketball future after college but their seriousness in studio suggested they had a a different plan. While most artists I invited wanted to talk shit, get drunk or smoke weed.... Aaron and Javon didn't want any part of it. The two were very quiet, observant and sober. The determination and focus as athletes was transforming them into determined and focused artists. I remember them saying they had a plan and a few years later I can now introduce you to Rare Blend.

With all artists coming from different backgrounds, Rare Blend has different feel and sound with every track. Their group consists of 6 artists: BeatsbyChe, Iman Europe, Say A., Jae Que, E.B., and K.C. Each artist all have their own unique and individual styles of music and together they are a "Rare Blend" of talent.

These artists all come from different demographics from the Bay Area, St. Louis, Fresno to Manhattan and DMV. It was college in my hometown that brought them together. Maybe you can even say Rare Blend was born on the hardwood of the UC Riverside Student Rec-Center. Maybe it was born on that drive home after Jae Que and Say A left my studio session. Whenever or however doesn't matter. What really matters is, these young men have found a life after basketball. Well all know the economy sucks and we also know these universities don't do a great job at preparing their star athletes for life after hoops, but these kids have found a way to avoid the mistakes I made.

Personally when I realized I was done growing and My dream to be a Laker would remain a dream, I went Loco. It was my hope and my way to a better life and out of poverty. It was the only career I planned for because it was my most beloved pastime. I honestly believe I have an irregular heart beat when I am not on the court. It was the only high I ever wanted. So with no family, no support and no more dream... I literally seen no other route and I ended trying to be the Tony Montana of Southern California.

Although my story may be different, many of these kids leave for college and expect to be men or expect to be complete when they get done with college. Many of their families expect the same or more. This is not easy, even for children with a nice support system and it is even more difficult to do it so far away from home. So when the great athletes don't catch the break they deserve on the court or on ESPN... I feel obligated to help when I can off the court. Rare Blend may be a group of six or artists, but I am helping them because I want to see two of my favorite athletes become great men.

In April I posted a Blog featuring NBA Prospect Phil Martin and in the post I expressed the wish I had that Phil and Javon could have played more together but when Javon Borum (Jae Que) and Say A (Aaron Scott) were in Highlander uniform, UCR had a real shot at greatness. Don't forget we had Kyle Austin at the time too. I don't want to elaborate on why.... but I will say that the team and it's players didn't find the chemistry needed to reach their peak. In one game against Long Beach St. Aaron had 26 pts, 10 rebs, 4 ast and 3 steals. I remember when Phil and Javon both had 22 each in the same game. These kids shared the same dream, but they were bigger, stronger and faster with a legitimate shot at having the dream come true. For these young men to be around so much talent and see such opportunity, whiling holding the burden or dreams of their Families and our city.... then even after trying so hard, with determination and focus... they failed and the dream was gone.

We see it on the news, we see it around the neighborhood and I personally went through it. Most of you would think of Maurice Clarette or others like us that spriral out of control after the dream is gone. Well it happens more often than not. So many kids across the globe lose control when their dreams are shattered. Not Javon or Aaron... excuse me I mean Jae Que and Say A. Lets just say it's a blessing they have found a positive route in Rare Blend. They are UC Riverside Alumni and they are great role models. They showed us all how to react when the door closes on one of our dreams. We all must learn to have the will to open those new doors. I sure wish I had the foresight to make the same choices. Unfortunately I made impatient and ill-advised desecions in drastic situations that called for my survival. I may have been able to survive a different route but My mind was unstable and It took me a decade to get my music career started. Music has always been my second passion but I never thought it would be my job. Now I have classic joints and my Radio show but what I'm doing today, I could have been doing 10 years ago if I had the right mind state and the right team that Jae Que and Say A have surrounded themselves with. I think it is safe to say the Rare Blend movement can be compared to the start of a new season, with a new team. They are something like the Avengers of 2012 Indie Music and I am hoping you can all help spread the word. They need your support and they are repping for us. They are repping for Riverside, St. Louis, Manhattan and the rest of the globe. Their dream now depends on your response as fans but the first step is creating the awareness. So share the blog with your friends and let all the future UC Riverside Athletes know... we don't have boosters over here and we wont ask you to fix games. We are not a Goliath Division 1 university but we are no David either. Riverside and it's community refuse to play the role of David. We want the victories, we wants trophies, we want the pride of the dream and we want the best for all of you, on the courts and even on the airwaves. Chief Kamachi vs Emory Forbes

First thing is first, let me make all of you aware this is not a beef or a battle. There is actually a good chance neither of these artists have heard the others project. They may not even know each others stage name. The truth is the only beef between Chief Kamachi and Emory Forbes is the battle that is going on on my crazy brain as a fan of Hip Hop. We are now 100 days in the new year of 2012 and I still don't know which album is better. If I were handing out awards I would probably have to treat them like Jason Kidd and Grant Hill forcing them to share the award. The album from Chief Kamachi, titled Rise and Rhyme Volume 1 is available on itunes. While the debut project from Emory Forbes, called Live From The Bottom is available for Free Download on BandCamp. Both artists are highly underrated in the music industry but their mp3's are getting the most run in my electronically devices. I really cant decided which Hip Hop project I like more, so I was hoping my blog readers could help with their opinions. Check out the artists and their projects below. Emory Forbes - @EmoryForbes

The project from Emory Forbes, Live From The Bottom is a completely different project. It was released just weeks before 2011 ended and it has been rotation at Presley Radio ever since. The whole project is all over the place. Emory displays a wide range of styles. You can tell Emory is an intellectual but what I love most about the album is the emotion. The project us full of a controlled rage. He blends it with an almost flawless delivery and lyrical he is a Mutant Emcee. This is an album that can help me cool if I am having a bad day. As just a human or as child of the ghetto trying to make music my job, I can related to alot of the experiences he describes in his music. Being able to relate to the song or artist does help fans release that energy but on the other hand if I was drinking in the parking lot bumping Live From The Bottom while getting ready to pass out flyer's.... lets just say I might have some issues with whoever is headlining, Especially if their lyrics sucked.

It really is a roller coaster ride listening to Mr. Forbes. He does have a few joints the lady Hip Hop fans should enjoy, Well I am just assuming they would like his Stuck on Her and a few others but that is for the ladies to decided. Overall this Hip Hop album is one of those few underground classics that have potential to reach the general mainstream audience without any gimmicks. On the other hand, most Real Hip Hop heads may prefer to keep it out of the beasts belly. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Former Army Of The Pharaoh artist Chief Kamachirecently released his new album Rise and Rhyme Volume one on January 30th, 2012. Kamachi was an original member of the legendary group and since the late 90's, Kamachi has had the voice of leader. A strong delivery matched with a righteous conscious. Even one of my face book friends agreed, Chief kamachi was born to be solo artist and destiny is upon us. He is just too far from being a follower and his lyrics are on a far different level than most emcees. Most of Kamachi's lyrics will fly right the average mans head but when I listen I get a feeling I can only describe as the opposite of rage.

When I hear Chief Kamachi rhyme there seems to be this cloak of calmness around me. It's kinda like having a third eye, wider shoulders, stronger arms and a wiser mind. Almost a sense of empowerment. When I'm bumping Chief Kamachi I am learning and being entertained a the same time. Entertained by the way his wordplay describes his reality and learning from the mindset that survived that reality. Entertained by the thoughts and visions he reviles in his poetry. Learning how a real underground emcee can stand on his own two with being punk sell out or rhyming about garbage. There are far too many Rick Ross wannabes in this world and not enough Chief Kamachi students. Chief Kamachi has a sound the will never be mainstream and I appreciate that. It's refreshing to hear a 1990's flavor in 2012. I prefer the honesty, loyalty and knowledge from our poets in an age where lies, sex and drugs seem to be accepted by the majority. Kung Fu Panda 2 - My Favorite Movie

First and foremost I must start by saying prior to Kung Fu Panda 2, my favorite movies were all tied for the #1 spot. It was a short list of a few movies I really couldn't put at #2. For their own individual reasons the movies Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, Rudy, Lion King and Terminator 2 had remained all tied for my personal favorite movie spot. For years they all shared the #1 trophy in the mind of Sean Presley and even to this day I would still rather watch one of these five movies instead of any reality show. That was until I recently seen Kung Fu Panda 2.

These last few months have been real tough on me. You will hear specifics in the appropriate chapter of my biography but to keep things short I want to point out the most difficult of all stresses for me. Over the last 2 months I have been without my 2 children due to my relationship with their mother. I bought my daughter a cell phone last September so we talked but I didnt get to see them. It was real tough. I always refused to be a part-time father and with my past,... being a great parent is the most important thing for me. Lets just say being away from my children is not only my worst fear but it was a few beers away from having me in a straight jacket or worse. Dealing with that stress, while maintaining my business, then the sprinkles of everyday life, bills, obstacles, betrayal, and general bullshit had me exhausted. I even went to see a therapist but I just couldn't bear paying my money to have someone listen to me. I will talk more about his therapist in my biography in the relevant chapters. She wasn't just some random therapist I found in the phone book. Regardless, I decided not to continue, especially after I realized I am smarter than this same person that is trying to follow some chopped and screwed therapist protocol and not being the real human being I needed. If therapy works for you, great but personally I would rather talk to the man in the mirror, as oppose to paying some sinner to listen to me be a basketcase. I don't have a wife and I don't have family to talk to so most of these negative stress get bottled up and that is not good for any human, especially me. I am literally forced to keep all my frustrations, ideas, failures and problems to myself. Then if my brain is buffering at %100 and god is by my side, I am blessed enough to process this internally or through some form of work or work out. There is few capable of processing these thoughts and certainly I haven't found someone smarter or trust worthy enough to give me constructive or rational advice. So I was mentally overwhelmed and came real close to caving in. Almost quitting. I was going through all this while trying to begin my autobiography and it was just way too many tears for a man who is really tired of crying.

It didnt kill me, well not physically. However I can assure it did kill a part of me that needed to be killed. Overall I survived and finally last Friday my kids came to visit me for the evening. When I see them smile or when they make me smile nothing else matters. I can live with chucks on my feet and a growling belly as long as the kids are happy. Having them back for the night was really calming and we had dinner plus red box. We were going to get Muppet's and my daughter was upset when it wasn't available. The movie of choice ended up being Kung Fu Panda 2. After seeing the first version, I was really impressed how the story ended and I loved the secret recipe too, so I choose it to her dismay but evetually see like it. Just not as much as me.

Kung Fu Panda 2 doesn't have a secret ending like part 1. Actually the Kung Fu Panda named Po Ping ( played by Jack Black ) is uncovering secrets during the whole movie. After finding out that the goose isn't really his father, Po sets out on a journey to save China and discover the truth of what happened to him and his parents. He wanted to know how or why his parents abandoned him. He want to know more about his home. His nightmares become daymares and soon Po is torn not knowing if these visions are true memories. Now keep in mind the storyline feeds off the first version of Kung Fu Panda and to understand it completely you must see part 1 but the story line in Kung Fu Panda 2 is far better. To keep it short and non descriptive, the moral of the movie is for Po ( or anyone in real life ) to find his inner peace. For Po ( or anyone in real life ) this is a challange trying to not be upset so much with the past, especially when the present or future is so bright. Too many people in this world judge themselves on who they were and not who they are. Po had this dilemma as well. This movie gives us lesson on self respect and confidence and with the twist of the Kung Fu philosophy the positive messages in this movie, can help anyone on any given day with most general problems. It's all about having the right state of mind to see and feel everything. If you dont want a positve outlook, you wont have it. When we get our minds intensely focused so much on one form of negative, we are taking energy and appreciation away from the good things we have in life. This movie made me appreciated who I am today 100 times more than I did last week. I get so upset knowing my failures and my family's mistakes. I get upset being forced daily to work with what I have and not being able to accomplish everything I am capable of due to lack of team and resources. I get upset that most of the time I fight this good fight by myself or with paid help. It is hard dealing with the bad memories and the struggles. It is hard thinking about wasted time and opprotunities but often life reminds me of them when I need the exact opposite. I think this is why the philosophy found in Kung Fu Panda was more a fortune cookie. With all my heart, I think I can this movie may have changed my life or the way I look at my life. I think if you watch it like your going to church, it could change your lives too.

Some of us have sold drugs, some of us stole, some lied, some cheated and some of us have done them all. Some boys join gangs, some girls become prostitutes. Some of us are poor and without nice things. Some of us have just had bad luck or bad people around us but whatever your guilt trip is.... whatever is so negative it holds you back.... you must know the only way to fight it is with positive energy. Even when times are hard you must insist that you find positive in the situation and you must allow that positive to find more weight that the negative. So if you don't have a father it is okay to wonder about him but you cant let it ruin you. So you appreciate having a step father that puts food on the table while peacefully looking for your blood father. For me personally the philosophy can be applied to a number of my problems but it dug in deep when my brain realized that breaking up with my kid's mother doesn't mean the cycle will repeat or that my children's future is doomed. The truth is they both know I love them. They know me. I teach them. They know what I am about, they know my voice, I am real to them and that is everything that was missing when I was their age.

See in my lifetime I can honestly say that my family didn't love me right. Honestly, very very few loved me at all and those that did eventually loved someone or something else much more leaving me alone. God sent me a few angels and I was blessed to survive and Po Ping was very much in a similar situation. He was so strung out searching for the love he didn't get, or that truth he didn't know and that it took away from the love he was getting. He was so stressed about being abandoned that he didn't appreciate his new family. He was so disturbed that he completely forgot he is a legend, A leader and many depend on him. He wasnt focused because he didnt have his inner peace. So as Po found his lessons he also found his truth accompained by an arch rival in Shen ( voice of Gary Oldman ) the evil villain trying to destroy China. Shen ironically has a high impact link to Po Ping's past and knows the truth that Po can not remember. Shen plays a great villain and even tries to torture Po mentally in attempt to break him knowing that Po is more focused on the past than the present. Like I said it is a great story if your in need a great film but the philosophy is very helpful for even the brightest of minds. We all gets distracted, we all lose something, and we all have failures but we cant let it break our inner peace.

In conclusion I must thanks everyone involved with this classic film. It takes alot of work for a movie or cartoon. Yes it is a cartoon but is is officially my favorite movie of all time. The story really hit me in the heart but it gets better than just being a great storyline. This film has the perfect cast of voice overs with Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen and even Lucy Liu. Mix that cast with the humor of Jack Black and you can be sure this is very entertaining. The film is really funny but what really puts it over the top is the Kung Fu. The Kung Fu feels authentic and the movie star Po is not just the only one in this journey. He has friends known as the furious five which includes a tiger, praying mantis, monkey, crane and a snake. If I remember correct, those 5 animals each represent a different Kung Fu fighting style. This and some of the fight scenes gives me the impressions the director has a great traditional Kung Fu background. Some of the scenes were more action packed than real blockbuster movies and I like Kung Fu alot more now. Overall it was perfect. The fight scenes, the story, the philosophy within the Kung Fu lesson and my kids by my side made this an unforgettable movie. I recommend it for any age, young or old. This is a must see. If your like me it will help and may even spark an interest in Kung Fu. The film even may spark an interest in the fall of Kung Fu, as the setting takes place during the same time fireworks, guns and explosives were invented. Maybe soon I will be blogging about enrolling in some Kung Fu, I have a feeling it will make be a better person and it might help me find my inner peace. Anyone that truly knows me, knows I dont need it to fight... I already know how to Kick some ass. Hahahah until next time my friends.

Phil Martin is a UCR Legend

March Madness is over and College Basketball found a familiar face to crown champion once again as Kentucky marched through the tournament with a modern day fab five. While my hometown UC Riverside was watching the tournament from home every true hoops fans around the nation is now familiar with the name Anthony Davis or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. The attention is well deserving with Kentucky's rich history and recent success but there are many great stories in college basketball that have been over shadowed by the so called college mainstream. Life isn't fair and neither is sports media. So I have committed to blog more about local athletes and teams. Today I appreciate your attention as I share my thoughts on Phil Martin and the 2011-12 Men's Basketball season at UC Riverside

The University of Kentucky a great school especially for basketball. Their brand, their high profile coach and die hard fan base is what I dream UC Riverside can have one day. Their greatness encourages the best athletes and students from around the nation to attend the University of Kentucky. Overall Kentucky is a school UC Riverside can model itself after. Year after Year The University of Kentucky and similar power house schools get to pick their recruits from the best of the crop. Kentucky, UCLA, Florida and the other big schools will be the college of choice by a majority of future NBA draft picks. These draft picks meshed with trophies, victories, Alumni and NCAA tournament appearances are the top selling points and key advantages when universities recruit. These advantages for one university become a big dis-advantage for the smaller schools like my hometown college of UC Riverside. Athletes flock to the best schools, scouts tour the best schools and the NBA is full of a bunch of players from a few prestigious Alma Maters. The Alma Maters are generally stereo typed as the best schools. Ultimately it's nearly impossible for the smaller school to compete. Then there is that rare moment, player, season, shot or scout that changes destiny. That rarity that can be compared to college football's Boise State or the Gonzaga basketball team that had a couple great March Madness runs a few years back. It usually takes a special season with a few special players to change the fortune of their small and little thought of University. This year UC Riverside may have found it's fork in the road when Phil Martin became a Legendary Highlander. Only time will tell, but I believe this season was more special than the UCR record of 14-17 would normally indicate.

Phil Martin was in my mind the nation's most underrated shooting guard in college basketball this year. He led the team in points with 19.5 per game and rebounds, 5.7 per game. Phil Martin was named to the Big West 1st Team All Conference while he earned several player of the week and month awards along the way. He twice went over 30 points in a game this year and showed a very wide range of scoring ability. At 6'4 weighing over 200lbs Phil Martin was also a very dominate presence on the defense side of the ball. From what I saw during the 2011-12 season Phil Martin played like a calm soldier and did so while shooting over 42% from the field. After scoring 33 points with 11 rebounds in a victory over UC Santa Barbabra, who finished with a 20-11 record, I asked myself, "Can Phil Martin Play NBA Basketball?" Since then I have convinced myself Phil Martin should be drafted in the late half of the first round but now my question is, "How long before he is an NBA All Star?"

Our community was blessed when the natural scorer from Staten Island decided to attend UC Riverside. I didn't know much about Phil Martin prior to him joining the team last year and I really wish he and Javon Borum had a chance to play together with each other for four years, while learning to share with each other. I know things sure would have been different in the Big West and the NCAA. Even after having amazing talents depart like Kyle Austin and Javon Borum, UC Riverside was literally having it's best year since joining Division 1. As of January 15th the team was 10-8 and 2 of those loses were 4 point heart breakers in overtime. The team and the city was really looking forward to the possibility of an NCAA Tournament appearance. We were 2nd in the Best West looking at road game in Fullerton, then a head to head at home with the conference leader Long Beach State. I don't care who says what, or how they say it. We were having a great season but this two game stint is where UC Riverside lost the 2011-12 season. It might not have been the losses, but maybe the doubt those loses created. Whatever or however it happened we lost our mojo and never found it again.

Maybe the team wasn't focused against Cal Stat Fullerton. I know there is a good chance the were looking ahead to the game against Long Beach but after losing to Fullerton, UC Riverside had a full week of preparation and rest. The battle against Long Beach State was a classic and you might say it was the most important game in recent UCR history. You can tell the Highlanders coaching staff did a great job preparing their team. The Highlanders did not show any show signs of a team coming of a loss. Instead the Highlanders took it to the 49ers and the lead changed hands 15 times and both schools looked like they were going to contend for the Big West Championship. UC Riverside even had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation when an Inland Empire native had a chance to win it at the free throw line. You have to give David Chavarria credit, he did make the first free throw to tie the game at 63-63. However the second shot was a misfire and David came inches away from handing the conference leader it's first loss. With only 2 seconds David missed the shot that would have made headlines and he would have done it at home in a gym 15 minutes away from where he played Eisenhower high school basketball. It was almost a dream come true, for David and the Highlander basketball community.

Just like many experiences in life, your dreams tend to turn into nightmares and the Highlanders nightmare had just begun. Maybe it was the teams lack of unity and confidence. Personally I think those two losses were the end of our season and the next few games were likes nails in the coffin. Some people never give up, not as a player or fan but losing 7 out of 8 games is tough on the Psyche. Falling from 2nd in the standings to the very bottom. It happened so fast and was so hard to believe. UC Riverside was not only losing in Overtime to the conference leader, but now we were losing to all the teams we just beat a few weeks ago. It was going downhill yet there still was hope if we could get it together in time for the Big West Tournament.

UC Riverside is far from a Kentucky or UCLA, but the team definitely underachieved this season. For a good part of the season I was hoping UCR could compete, but it seemed like once I realized they could, the team decided they couldn't. Part of me wishes I was coaching this years team. I feel like it was the coaching staff's job to rebuild that chemistry after each tough loss. That Long Beach State loss was the type to build character or destroy it. Its a Mind set, a mind set that must start with the coach and it became apparent that his 2012 team didn't have the right mindset needed to prevail. When you take the best team to overtime you have to believe you can compete. When you have players like Phil Martin, who can dominate the game on both ends of the floor, you actually can compete a even win the games. I guess I was the only one who realized we had the best player on the floor. Game after game and I eventually realized we have the best player in the conference.

Phil is a technician. His footwork, his post moves and the way his sets up his shot is perfect for a half court style offense. He is good when he puts the ball on the floor too. If he was as tall as Anthony Davis he would average 30 and 10. Plenty of talent and he is unselfish too. Watch the final game of the season against Cal Poly. This Phil Martin is still a kid, the Kid had a chance to take over that game but he didn't have the mindset. You cant fault him for doing what we asked of him, but the coaching staff needed to recognize the need to push the envelope. When your opponents set up their zone you got to find a way to break it and the Highlanders didn't. If you look at the film from the second half you can see the Highlanders waste alot of precious time passing around that zone. It was my Birthday and I was even yelling at the TV telling coach to move him to the power forward. Phil is really good in the post with his back to the basket. Get him those touches down there would have been the sure zone buster. Either Phil would have a chance to operate or his teammates would have had wide open looks. It was then I realized our best player was underachieving and just how under utilized he really was. Phil Martin underachieved this year, I say that in a good way and without being his friend or in the locker room, I honestly cant tell you why or how this could happen. I can give my theories.

My first theory is the coaching staff and Phil Martin didn't have a Kobe and Phil Jackson relationship. There is very important need for trust, honesty and communication and there were plenty instances were Phil Martin looked more like a good soldier or role player as oppose to the Best Offensive threat in Big West basketball. I think this has alot to do with the relationships, the trust and the strategy of how coach Wooldridge uses his scoring threats. We do need to give coach credit for finding the great players but Coach Wooldridge must learn how to maximize his best players potential. I like Jim Wooldridge but if he wastes another talented scorer like Javon Borum, Kyle Austin or Phil Martin, I will be blogging for his resignation. The bottom line is all of these scorers were talented enough to ride UC Riverside into the NCAA tournament But it's not translating. If coach can maximize his best athletes, we will have commitments from the more talented local athletes like Tony Snell and Eric Wise. We will have a better team and we will have a better school. I like him but I wonder if he has what it's going to take to get us over the hump when the time is right. I wonder if this year was the right time?

Coach Wooldridge has done some great things for this UCR program. So as I segway to my second theory you may find yourself giving Coach Wooldridge a little leeway. Coach can only work with the team he has and it may have been a completely different season if the Highlanders had a true center. The biggest player on our team is 6'8'' and that means we don't even have a center. This must be a new top priority for coach and his staff. UC Riverside Played an entire basketball season with only guards and forwards. Phil Martin, our leading scorer and star shooting guard was forced to rebound and exert a tremendous amount of energy on the boards. This was also a big factor in the second half on our Big West Tournament match up. Mix that with Phil Martin playing the entire game and you understand why we had such a poor exit to our season. Please Coach! Go get a 7 footer, who cares where he is from! We don't care if he speaks English. Just get us a 7 footer to go along with these scorers. We have had some great scorers the past few years in Riverside just not the balance we need down low to be a successful team.

My third and final theory maybe the most reasonable theory of the day. We need a real UCR fan base. We had a great team this year and I cant help but wonder if the Highlanders could have achieved more if I was a better fan. Could we have done more to help our team? Next year I will give out free tickets and t-shirts on my new radio station. I will take bigger and louder crowds to the games and I will be soon be the loudest Highlander fan online and at the games. I always fear my word could have an negative impact on the game so try to keep it simple but when it's crunch time, these kids need a true-loyal-die hard-non convoluted fan to scream at them. The only hope we have of getting a new basketball gym renovation is after we have a winning season. A bigger gym means better players and more fans. Fans help players when they are tired or having a bad game. We need to build a better fan base for these hard worker players. More Fans mean more money and more money means a better school.

I know that UC Riverside may never have a football team until we get a new basketball gym and decent team. I know that if Phil Martin gets drafted UC Riverside will finally have a real trophy to show recruits. It all goes hand in hand, sport to sport and even though Phil Martin REALLY DESERVES to get drafted, it is all about the Highlanders. So I have decided to email, blog, tweet and do my part to contribute to exposing Phil Martin and other local athletes. I decided to be more involved with UCR Basketball. These kids need someone telling them the truth and the truth is Phil Martin is a shooter at heart. Someone passes to him and he shoots and the score keeper adds points to the scoreboard. Phil Martin may very well have the nicest shot to fall in Riverside since Reggie Miller and he played that shooting guard role better than I have seen any other Highlander. Players like Phil Martin truly are bigger than the game or the University he plays for and while you don't want him to think of himself that way, you do want to see everyone around the program or community trying to help that Superstar reach their potential. I think if I would have been more active the team would have been one energy pocket better.

One thing is for sure which ever NBA team drafts this kid is going to have a Franchise Player by the time he becomes a man. My only concern is there is a great chance he wont get drafted. Maybe he is over looked because he played in Riverside or the Big West. Maybe he didn't have enough wow moments. Also keep in mind this is the deepest draft we have had in years with plenty of homegrown American players. The again He could still get passed up for an international player who has with far less film footage or less experience. This is why I thought is was necessary for us to get into the tournament and finish with a winning record. I personally think Phil is worthy of late 1st round pick and the only thing I know better or do more than music... is basketball. I have seen alot of hoops and I think Martin could end up with one of this years playoff teams. Trust me I'm Taking Austin Rivers first but I think Phil Martin is better than Jeremy Lamb. Lamb can shoot too but after Bradley Beal and Austin Rivers, I suggest taking Phil Martin. I think the best fit for him in the NBA would be Orlando Magic. If the Magic get Derron Williams as a Free Agent and pick up Phil Martin in the Draft they could have a shot a keeping Dwight Howard. I knows it is just one man's blog but whatever happens next for Phil Martin I hope its in his best interest. I hope all his dreams come true and I hope he is focused enough to walk that walk. I will praying for him and I am sure their are thousand of Highlanders just like me who appreciate his hard play and contribution to building a great program in Riverside. Hopsin is Better Than Your Favorite Rapper

I was up early this morning looking for new artists and bands to feature on my radio station. About an hour into my journey I came across a West Coast MC that goes by the name of Hopsin. Usually it takes several songs or a whole album for me to believe in a hip hop artist. Hopsin is a very rare exception. Midway through the first verse I became a fan and after viewing just two of his videos, I am convinced that Hopsin deserves more than 99% of the Hip Hop artists you have come to know.

If you are a so called fan of hip hop you should quickly take a liking Hopsin. Matter of fact if you like hip hop, but you don't like Hopsin ... I don't want to be associated with you, I don't want to speak to anyone that doesn't like These two video below. I will even feel ashamed to ever attend a the Same Hip Hop concert as a fan that didn't appreciate Hopsin after learning of who he is. Even if you had beef with him in school or the streets, you still have to respect and appricate Hopsin as a lyricist.

It's very rare to find an artist was so much to say and so many talented ways to save. I like all kinds of music but when it comes to hip hop, there is only one kind of hip hop that can keep my attention. Raw lyrics, raw emotion and the art of turning it into music. When I judge an emcee, I block out the music, I block out the image and I close my eyes trying to focus on the accapella. If I appreciate the lyrics without a beat or visual, then and only then can I become a fan. Hopsin's creativity is undeniable and I have an anger toward the music industry that has me agreeing with most of what Hopsin said in these two music video below. If if wasn't about the industry it was a real life references I could relate to or understand.

The man not only writes what needs to be said, but he also produces and edit his own work and videos so you can see every ingredient sprinkled into his creations. 2012 Mission Inn Run

Today marks the beginning of my training for the 2012 Riverside, California Mission Inn Run. Every year my hometown holds a mid November, USA Track and Field sanctioned event. The event has a race for every level of competitor. There is a children's race, a 5 K run, a 10 K run and half marathon. Now to someone like me, I have a hard time saying half marathon and my body even has a stronger opinion. 13 miles is a marathon too me! It's just 26 miles is a bigger marathon.

Overall I never ran much in my youth. I loved playing sports and in School I played 3 sports but running laps and conditioning was the part I didn't like. I never ran to just run, there needed to be a basket or goal involved. As I got older, running slowly grew on me. I took it more seriously when I realized it was helping to curve my smoking, plus every run was my own personal therapy session. It became the getaway I use to find playing sports. Running is a new part of my life but it has become a very rewarding addition. I needed the balance as I get older. I want to keep my brain sharp and I want to have that Jack La lane health. Speaking of Jack La lane, I'm buying myself the juicer for my March Birthday...So you can look forward to blogs posts featuring my weird recipes.

I have participated in 2 races and this year would be my 3rd race. I am going to blog my training and eating habits as we progress but the journey starts today with stretching before bed. Tomorrow will be a short run of maybe 2 or 3 miles. There is a possibility, I Participate the March 18th, Los Angeles Marathon but it will depend on my conditioning and my schedule. Bottom line is, I want My effort in the 2012 Mission Inn Run to be a top 15 finish. I will be competing against professionals runners whom have trained the right way for longer periods of time, But at the same time.... I am much younger than the 36-year old Meb Keflezighi, who ran his best marathon time ever a few weeks ago, to finish first and qualify for the 2012 Men's Olympic Marathon Team.

So the way I see it..... If a 36 year old runner can represent for our country, then surely I will have a shot at being #1 in my own city. Who Knows, Maybe I have a legitimate shot at making the Olympics in 2016. If I can stop smoking and the Jack La lane juicer does its thing... maybe it will be. Although my far fetched dream of Olympics is very laughable, The opportunity if being #1 in my own city is very real. Before I let you go I wanted to recap the 2011 Mission Inn Run. It wasn't a perfect race for me or for the event producers. For some reason the staff set up the final turn along the Santa Ana River bed much shorter than the race designers had scheduled. So the race wasn't even classified as an official half marathon. Nevertheless the race went on and was won by 27 year old Mark Bates out of the city of Pomona, Ca. Bates, told the press enterprise newspaper after his victory, that he was hopeful the winning could continue at the Olympics Qualifying. I watched and listened to alot of the race and I didn't hear his name mentioned even once during the race. So that goes to show the level and jump in competition at Olympic Qualifications. I personally Finished #264 and ran my race 45 minutes longer than Mark Bates. I was running with the lead pack for the first 4 or 5 miles but I soon realized that if I continued at their pace, my heart would explode or I wouldn't even finish. I Started dropping back in the middle of the race and I even stopped twice thinking I was about the vomit. I wasn't going to quit and my pride kept me in it. I was aiming for a top 100 finish and even though I fell way short I found a silver lining in the race results. I did Finish #20 for my age group and overall I finished in front of over 500 other competitors. Just enough to feel good about myself. The Medal at the end of the Race helps too. Only those who finish the race get a rain cross medal.

I learned alot from my first race but this 2011 half marathon really taught me so much more. One of the biggest mistakes I made was going for a 10 mile run 3 days prior to race. I thought a few ice baths and a massage would be enough to accompany the 72 hours of rest. For some reason I thought it would have me fresher and give me an advantage. I was definitely wrong. it was basically like running 2 half marathons in a 72 hour span. My diet was not right for that type of training. Plus I was training with a weight vest and think it is what kept me from training at the pace of a Mark Bates.

The was another mistake I made on race day.... I wore a cotton t-shirt. The White T-Shirt was actually provided by my race sponsor. Without a Sponsor I would have ran with a bare chest but during my training for the marathon I was able to poke my head in a few local business's and hand out business cards. I introduced myself and let everyone know about the big race. One stop was in the Brockton Arcade, Where I was blessed with sponsorship from the Richardson Family. The Richardson Family has a few Family operated business's in the Inland Empire including the Riverside Hearing Aid Center. The Sponsorship ended up being around $200 which included my entry fee, new running shoes, lunch and the T-shirt design. In return I passed out flyer's at the race and did a fair share of Internet marketing. Who knew I would be networking while training for a Marathon?... but it happened and it was a great reason to meet knew people in my community. Oh Yeah! I forgot to mention why wearing a cotton t-shirt during a marathon is such a bad idea. It was around mile 9 or 10 when My nipples began to sting. I knew the friction was the cause and by the end of the race my nipples were both bleeding blood. Since then I have learned of a better material the wear for my marathons to prevent this from happening. Being such a novice runner, I have a lot to learn but at least I wont be making the same mistakes as last time. Drop your comments and until next time my friends. But good or be Great!

Stanley and The Search

Chris Castillo - John Alaimo - Johnny Liu - Joe Alaimo

Formed in the summer of 2011, the band Stanley and The Search came together in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley. With a passion for punk rock and great music in general the band set out to make history. These are not my clients, I am not getting paid to feature them. I have a very unique attachment to the band but that is just one of the many reasons I am really excited about what I found in Stanley and The Search. Songs like Chin Up and Fake Friends are instant classics. There is no denying this band is very talented from Mic to Drum.

It takes a lot to keep a band together, John and Joe Alaimo have been in several, maybe even a dozen bands since high school and even when the music's great... sometimes a situation just isn't meant to be. I learned this morning that Joe is no longer a member of Stanley and The Search. Instead he is replaced by Dylan Schleifstein as the new bassist. It is a very unfortunate discovery for me to learn. Joe's brother John even told me he feels like crap over the situation and it has the brothers on non-speaking terms. John feels bad but also feels like being part of the band is also what is best for him. In many ways I truly understand. When it comes to friends and family, it doesn't matter who makes it, or how.... just as long as one of us do. So we can pull each other up. So we can strengthen the family. I am sure it will work itself out in time.

This band has talent just like any other band the brothers have been a part of, but as a childhood friend and fan of great music I am hoping Stanley and the Search is more than just a flash in the pan. Our entire community is ready for the Alaimo's and company to reach their greatness. Maybe Joe can come help me with my radio show until he finds a new band. Maybe Joe will rejoin the band one day. Who knows? I just hope The Alaimo brothers find their shine... that shine I saw in the two during the late 90's in the garage.

I first met John as a Junior in high school. I was in a group home and subsequently I attended school at Chaffey High. The two of us played baseball together for the Chaffey Tigers and quickly became friends. I remember our first conversations on the team bus revolving around music and alcohol. John had said I had an open invite to come party and jam with the family. High school was fun for me. Even if I was always the new guy trying to fit in, it was the place I've met the best friend's I ever had.

I had know idea at the time but that invitation to party might have saved my life. Before baseball season even ended I was told by the group home staff that I could no longer play sports or work. They said I wouldnt be allowed any extra curicular activity. This led to a physical altercation with the staff and my AWOL. I only had a backpack, one change of clothes, a Walkman and a few tapes when I called John explaining what happened. John gave directions to his mom's apartment in Upland and I found the family's place just above the historic route 66 know called Foothill Blvd.

I am working on an Autobiography that will have all the details... but to make a long story short, I was looking to survive for the night and found a family for life. A family that loved me more than my own family did. Looking back on it, it wasn't just me. Mama Sheila and her Alaimo's were family to an entire community. Their friends became my friends. Their family became my family and this was how I survived for the next 16 or 17 months. I was 16 on the run, I was 45 miles away from the only family I knew, family that didn't want me. I had no money and nowhere else to go and for that reason, every day I thank God for the Alaimo's.

Well it has been over a decade now and we are all grown up. I even have two perfect children that have yet to meet Uncle John and Uncle Joe. I am anxious to introduce my children to my brothers but even more anxious to see Stanley and The Search reach it's peak. Every lyric and every chord has a different meaning to me. Well maybe it has the same meaning that it has to you but it just means much more. When John writes a song about his life, I here Psalms for our life. So if you want to know more about me and my family then This band is a must see. If you love GREAT MUSIC, this band is a must see. I say that as a friend, I say it as brother, a fan and as Sean Presley the Indie Music Activist. If there is an Alaimo on the stage you wont forget the show for the rest of your days.

Can Phil Martin Play NBA Basketball

The UCR district is buzzing about last night's overtime victory. The Highlanders were able finish what they started and out scored the Gauchos of UC Santa Barabara, 16 - 7 in the overtime period. In years past UC Riverside would have folded after surrendering a halftime lead, But not this year, Not in 2012. This Highlander team is finally showing the potential of being a team this city can rally around. Much of the teams success has to do with the Standout known as Phil Martin and many around the city are wondering if Martin can eventually play Pro ball. One friend even suggested him as the Successor to Kobe Bryant.

Now I wouldn't got that far, he is no Kobe but Phil Martin is a big reason the team is now 3-1 in conference play. Phil Martin, is a big reason the team is now off to it's best start since joining Division 1 hoops back in 2001. He did scored 33 points in 41 minutes while shooting 56% from the field and went 8 for 8 from the free throw line. Yes, Phil Martin even had 11 rebounds in last night's overtime victory but I am still disappointed.

Let me tell why I am disappointed..... It doesn't matter what level of organized basketball your playing, if the star player goes 41 minutes without an assist.... something is wrong! Basketball is about passing and with that many touches over 41minutes and no assists we got ourselves a giant red flag. Phil Martin and the rest of the UCR highlanders must address this immediately. I know it is only one game but if this Highlander team is going to make the postseason for the first time in school history we are going to need Phil Martin creating just as many baskets for his teammates as he does himself. 33 points on 0 assists is a star on a bad team. 25 point and 8 assists, that that is the stat of a star on a well oiled-machine.

I believe this team can go on have a special season but after seeing enough Highlander basketball I know we still have plenty of work to do. When the NBA questions surrounding Phil Martin started buzzing around my first words were "It will never happen without an NCAA Tournament appearance". and with the way the selection works, UC Riverside will most likely need to win the Big West conference Championship or the end of the year Conference tournament. So I am hoping we can work more on the flow and get Martin distributing the ball more effectively over the next few games. We have a big test against Long Beach St. and it looks like any hope we have of making the post season will depend on the the 2 or possibly 3 games against the 49ers.

Back in 2001 after entering the Big West, UCR gave Riverside it's first opportunity to compete for a National Championship which sparked a small buzz that soon faded with the 2001 season. The UCR Women's basketball team made the tourney once to suffer a nightmare defeat to the North Carolina Tar Heels. One thing is for sure this 2012 Men's team has a chance to not only erase that horrible memory but also create a beloved new one. Good Luck Highlanders, we are rooting for you! Great Game Phil!

Tim Tebow Converts Raider Fans

I have to start by saying I never liked the Tim Tebow at the University of Florida. I respected his success but as a fan of the Pac 10 I always rooted against him. Part of me thought is was all too good to be true. At the time he looked and sounded like a goody two shoes and part time Boy scout. He always said the right thing and he always got what he wanted. I think he lost only 4 or 5 games in college and many sports fans wondered in that was a product of his enviorment. I couldn't wait to see if it translated into the NFL.

On NFL draft day, even with my own Tim Tebow Questions... I really didn't see how so many teams could pass on the who many consider the greatest college football of all time. Don't forget on October 31, 2009, while playing against the Georgia Bulldogs, Tebow ran for his 50th and 51st rushing touchdowns, breaking the SEC career record previously held by former Georgia running back Herschel Walker. His college stats are remarkable.

I think part of me wanted to see Tim Tebow have some turbulence on the field especially after seeing he had been drafted by the AFC West Denver Broncos. I didn't noticed it then but maybe god likes seeing Tim Tebow rock the Blue and Orange. Maybe we should give more credit to Josh Mcdaniels for drafting him because the Blue and Orange colors are the only things the Florida Gators have in common with team from the Mile High City. After last seasons 6 - 0 start the Broncos looked like playoff contenders and Tim Tebow was more of an after thought. Then in what seemed like heart attack, then Broncos fell apart leaving us all highly anticipating the Tim Tebow era.

Again I personally wanted to see if he learned to become a Quarterback. I wanted to see him have turbulence and for the world to see the Super Boy Scout prove he was human after all. I might even have had this tiny part of me that wanted Tim Tebow fail.

Then it all changed. Instead of the sports world being evenly divided over the "Tebow Madness", I saw the scales tip. Seemingly overnight, after a very unorthodox off season and the hiring of a new coach in Jon Fox, Tim Tebow was no longer the starter in Denver. After losing his Starting role over the off season Tim Tebow basically went from the heavily favored Heisman, to the bottom of the barrel underdog. I took it personal. I took it personal because it shows the true colors of sports. It shows the true colors of America. It shows the true colors of Life.

I am the resistance! I live for, fight for and root for the underdog. I use to pick fights with the bullies. That has always been my mentality and Tim Tebow was out numbered. Even if I did agree that the story was too good to be true, I always respected his effort and I always seen a great role model for the youth. So I had a hard time siding with those trash talking the only kid who cares about the kids. Why are we rooting against the only athlete that appears to be a 100% role model. He wins, He is Smart and everyday he tries to do the right thing. Honestly that's what is more important and Tim Tebow has juggled such a great balance of life that I could only hope my son or any child could grow to be like him.

With his back against the wall and his team's 2011 season over before the midway point, Tim Tebow will his way to a 7 - 1 record over the last 9 weeks now has his team in sole possession of first place. Yesterday morning I looked wanted both the Raiders and Broncos to win and Remain tied at 8-5 heading into a head to head showdown. but after the Raiders decided to take the week off I still found myself rooting for Denver. The Tim Tebow magic has all of us asking what church he is going to too. We are buying jerseys. We are looking for rookies cards. We are fans of different teams but all of us underdogs around the globe are fans of Tim Tebow.

Two things are for sure. This is really a tremendous amount of fun. I have never seen sports fandom with a hate and love relationship like this since Michael Jordan. I don't think Kobe Bryant or Shaq ever reached this level of frenetic fandom. Maybe Barry Bonds, but no boxer or hockey player has reached this level of controversy. He is Football's Tupac, but he isnt trying to be and he hasn't done anything negative. It's great to see. His play in the 4th quarter is so much better than the rest of the game. He is like the opposite of Lebron James. I can't stop cheering for him and these miraculous comebacks. It's what true sports fans love to see, regardless of the teams involved. Now as for number 2.... I hate to say it but one day it will come to an end. He might not win next week. He most likely wont win the Super Bowl this year, but I hope he wins is one day. Either way I am proud of him and I look forward to sharing his story with my children and grand children. One message to Mr. Timmy Tebow, "Change the Game, Don't let the Game Change you!"

Kid Rock features Angaleena Presley -

Let me start this by saying I am not the biggest fan of Kid Rock and I too even questioned his integrity after going from DJ'ing and Rocking Mics to singing over country twang. With that said I proudly admit Kid Rock is one of the most talented artists of my generation.

It was Meant To be. You just cant hold in that talent. Even though I would like to see him put that creativity into a Detroit flavored hip hop project... His was born to be who his is now and I know millions of fans including myself appreciate him recognizing his talents for what they were.

It takes more that just talent to put out great music over such a long period of time. It takes the heart, the passion and humility. This song "Care" is a perfect example of all three. Normally I don't support platinum artists or "commercial" artists. I like to support the other 99%, but this track it a must share for a few reasons. Not only does the track feature the infamous rap mogul TI, but Kid Rock also had the help of a Presley.

She goes by the name Angaleena Presley and you can be sure you will be hearing much more about her on my new blog, at some point in the future. For now lets just focus on this great collaboration and the video is available here below but you can find the song on the Born Free LP. The song is an overall 10. Great production and genius collaborations but we still have yet to talk about what tick's my clock. LYRICS.

It wasn't girls, videos or drums that got me fascinated me musically. It was the lyrics. It was the vivid pictures I seen when I closed my eyes, listening to Guns and Roses or LL Cool J. Even great poetry gets me worked up and this song did as well.

On a holiday that always reminds me of my past, this world and who I want to become... I got a chance to here this song when I needed it the most. "Care" most likely prevented another personal and emotional breakdown. It was this one verse that turned the song into my very own temporary therapist and acted like s shot of morphine to a wounded soldier.

"I cant stop the war, Shelter the homeless or feed the poor." I cant save your sons and daughter, I cant walk on water"

"I cant change the world and Make things fair, but the least I can do is care"

I feel this way everyday and I have been saying this verbatim for years. The feeling never goes away and the lack of overall progress is overwhelming. My life, My family and my planet is so far from perfect, but everyday it gets better because I try and I try because I care. When I didn't want to care anymore I was reminded of what I was meant to be doing... thanks to Kid Rock and a few friends doing what they were meant to be doing.

It was like a slap in the face. It woke me up. While I had tunnel vision and found myself dwelling on one negative, I was remind of the positive. I was reminded that there are other positive people on this planet and we are trying, but some things are just out of our control. So in conclusion we control what we can. As for the rest. We must pray, because no matter how much we care about someone or something... sometimes praying is all we can do. Happy Holidays everyone.

Penn State Deserves The Death Penalty

No I am not talking talking about football. Honestly anyone who is talking about football at this point should be hung. I cant believe they are already tying to put Urban Meyer on the Penn State sidelines. What we have on our hand is one of the most horrible situations I have seen from a University, figure head or any famous person in my 29 years on this planet. This whole situation is disgusting and it hurts more knowing this horror was giving birth under one of the most popular and most well trusted sports institutes in this nation. A place where parents trust other adults to supervise their children during their transition into adulthood. A place that is funded and operated with state and federal money. So when a place called Happy Valley posies as a prominent college university to cover up for their pedophile friend... I can only pray Penn State University gets the death penalty.

The cover up and the opportunity to let this evil fester was fueled by Happy Valley's worship. The community we know as Happy Valley worshiped football so deeply and for so long that even after chronological events have hit the main stream, the city, the college and even Joe Paterno himself continued to still try to hold football with higher regards than over a dozen children lives. I'm disgusted and it appears everyone outside of Happy Valley shares the same disgust.

At some point we the people must demand whats right. My bottom line is Penn Sate as an entity should cease to exist. Pennsylvania State Deserves the death penalty for over 100 reasons. It started with this weirdo Mike McQueary when in 2002 after he himself visually witnessed the devil known as Jerry Sandusky raping a 10 year old boy in the Penn State showers. His punk ass failed to verbally or PHYSICALLY intervene. Instead he just went home and told his daddy like a little boy. Mike Mcqueary who is currently the wide receiver coach at the university was 28 years old at the time. He was not a kid, he was a man that witnesses another man raping a boy. I don't understand how he... a man... a football coach and former player didn't get violent! Shamefully he didn't report it to the police either.

If the victim ever reads this.... let me say I'm sorry son. Sorry I wasn't there. I would have put a few sharp objects in his neck and heart, We would have told our "Self-Defense Story" to the world and pissed on his grave.

To the rest of the world, you must understand the father of the punk known as Mike McQueary then went on to tell Coach Joe Paterno about the incident. Now Joe Paterno is said to supposedly been the one to tell campus officials or campus police. I don't know all the facts but I am listening to alot of different media sources and they all confirm that the University as a whole knew about atleast 8 different incidents for at least the past decade. The first incident was found to be in the 90's and with today's technology and today's laws there is no way we can just be hearing about this in the mainstream with out a "Government Like" cover up. We didn't hear a peep or a tweet about this 2 weeks ago. This is real corruption!

The corruption run so deep and right now we are just getting the bits of info that has been released. When these guys go to trial.... most likely over a year from now, we are going to find out exactly who and how many knew about this and did nothing about it. These people were not getting paid to keep quiet. They were not getting their lives threatened. The weight of this sin had people quietly passing each other in campus hallways. Can you believe the University that doesn't put the names on the players jerseys because they like us to believe that not one player is above the team.... is.... yes that same University publicly showed the globe that the football team and the millions of dollars it brings in, is more important than saving these children from your Penn State Pedophile employee. Not only did they continue ignore the incident, the University allowed Jerry Sandusky to still interact on campus and among children. The sin is there, the rumors are going around and everyone is sweeping it under the rug. How could this happen for so long? I read one report suggestions Sandusky was pimping out the boys to rich donors. Part of me believes that something like that is the only way it could stay under the rug so long. Hold on while I throw up.

My 8 year old daughter is following this story with me and even thought she doesn't understand fully, she knows a football coach hurt atleast 8 little boys and she knows that way too many adults did nothing to save these children. I have these conversations while trying not to go into details, but as an adult I understand the complete English language. I know what sodomized and raped means by definition and I know that I would risk my life to stop a grown man from hurting a child like that. There are 3 reasons a human being deserves to die. I believe that if you break into someones home, if you intentionally take another humans life or if you rape another human... you are by my laws.... sentenced to death.

Part of me wishes I was Spawn, I would love to punish Jerry Sandusky and everyone involved but even after that we would still be stuck with a complete community that overlooked these events for over a decade. My daughter and My 4 year old son both know that my job is get them to college and to become owners of their own business. Everyday we talk about it and this week our conversations have been interrupted by talks about what college they will never attend. I don't know what the NCAA or the State of Pennsylvania has in store for Penn State University but I for one suggest shutting down the entire institute. Atleast temporarily, the University should cease to exist. Nothing should move until the trial of these culprits is resolved. No teacher should teach until we find out whether or not the evil has had help from teachers. We do know that one temporary employee witnessed another incident and never filed a report. Every adult in the university should be fired, dismissed, or put on leave until the trials are resolved. I suggest all students and students athletes should be granted permission to transfer to nearby colleges with no problems. I suggest everyone stop worrying about money and this university. Please worry about the children and the truth. You have to do what is right! Regardless of what you feel, my children, my family and my friends have given Penn State the death penalty. Raider Nation Welcomes Carson Palmer

In the spirit of Al Davis the Oakland Raiders have pulled off another bold trade that just may have salvaged the Season. Just coming off a another blue collar victory over the Cleveland Browns, Raider Nation realized that a season ending injury to their starting Quarterback Jason Campbell was a potential pitfall for what looks to be the Raiders most successful season in a decade.

A broken collar bone sent a tingle to the back bones of all Raiders Nation. It even sparked much conversation amongst the fantasy football world but even after his passing Al Davis's motto of "Commitment to Excellence" revered in the mouths and the Sub-concious of the Silver and Black Management. Maybe it was Al Davis's whisper to his son, Maybe it was the Bengals last second effort to finally run their organization wisely. It vary well could have been the body of work of Kyle Bolier or the water behind Terell Pryor's ear. but I tend to believe in destiny. So I believe it was meant to be.

Sunday morning fans were looking at the Playoff, Yesterday the Radiers season seemed to be hit with the sale ole' curse. Today I jumped around at the breakfast table like a little kid, happy because I feel another story book ending and this time is for my Raiders. 6 weeks ago I predicted and bet on a Texans Super Bowl championship even though I wanted a Donavan Mcnabb storybook ending. I wanted it so much that after Jason Campbell went down I thought for a minute .... the Raiders should trade for Mcnabb. I like Jason Campbell but Today's breaking news has a totally different outlook and I know the great-late Al Davis is rejoicing with us all. Who would have known the Raiders could have actually got better with the Campbell injury.

Carson Palmer in exchange for next year's 1st round draft pick and I personally think it is a deal of a lifetime. Most think it's a bad move considering we don't have 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick but let me just remind all of you of what 1st round pick was used on Jamarcus Russell. Remember Carson Palmer is the total package, an upgrade, a proven winner and I know I am one of millions of Trojans fans that are proud to see him back in California playing for the West Coast. This acquisitions has the feel of a very bright future and not only a story book ending to this season, but this could be the dynasty the commemorates the legacy of Al Davis. With a healthy Carson Palmer, A healthy Darren McFadden, and a relentless defense we can very well see the the Super Bowl 3 of the next 4 years. Texans are banged up and I can see this move murdering the Patriots dynasty. I'm talking goodbye coach Belichick, Tom Brady who? Hey maybe it's the fan in me but I know my excitement it shared by millions. The future is bright as Raider Nation welcomes Carson Palmer.

MLB Playoffs Are Here

For most Major League Baseball teams tonight is the end of a disappointing season. Other teams like the Rangers and Phillie's are tuning up for the post season but tonight for 4 team.... The playoffs start tonight.

The Braves, Cardinals, Red Sox and Devil Rays are all in must win situations. They all must win tonight to control their own destiny and each game will be televised on Espn and Espn 2. I am excited but would be much more in-tune if the Angels had a better season. Lucky for all fans, Next year we will be adding an additional playoff team. So next year one more city will be a winner!

Tonite is tough, so let me go look at the SportsBook.

Okay after looking at it I am questioning if the Yankees are going to give it their best shot. The Tampa Bay fans don't have the passion that they have in Boston. I am sure The Yankees would rather play The Devils Rays, Regardless of the talent level. Yankees Win and you triple your money but it's too risky for me. I'm putting $10 on the Redsox ( -176 ) money line. Still looking at the over (8.5) on the Cardinals game. Still studying for this week's NFL. 2012 Super Bowl Champion

It's that time of the year again. The NFL season starts this week and it just feels like this season is going to be a little more special. I know it's only one season, one trophy and one banner but let me explain why i can guarantee this season will be more special than any we have had in the past decade. Mark your calendar and mark my words. The 2012 NFL will be electric and when it's all said and done The Houston Texans will end up 2012 Super Bowl Champions.

This are so many factors that go into my choice but before i go any further let me predict the conference championship for both the AFC and NFC. I am trying show how good I really am at this and I want everyone to see how my brain works as i walk you through it.. As for the AFC conference championship game I have a feeling its going to end up in Houston hosted by the Texans. Even before the Peyton Manning situation I was rolling with them to win the south back in march. However my theory of their success grew after realizing just how much the dolphins, patriots and jets are going to beat up on each other. It's practically a no brainer for me. The trick is deciding who is going to be the visitor that day and honestly I cant choose between the Ravens and the Raiders. I just don't think the chargers are as good as the experts at ESPN think they will be, plus we seen the Raiders dominate that division last year. I just don't know if Jason Campbell can get them over the hump and take them deep into the playoffs. The Chargers have been overrated for years by everyone including myself on the account of Phillip Rivers' brilliance. I just cant believe in them anymore. Yes they should make the playoff if they can beat the chiefs. Yes the jets and pats should be there as well. So in all I'm picking the Texans, Ravens, Raiders, Jets, Patriots and I'm leaving that final slot open for possibly the Jaguars, Chiefs, Chargers, and Peyton Hillis.

Moving on to The 2012 NFC Championship Game, I am predicting the Atlanta Falcons host the game for the Dirty Bird fans. Unfortunately for them they are going to suffer defeat at the cleats of the The Detroit Lions. Fact is the Philadelphia Eagles have too much negative karma to win the 2012 Super Bowl. Don't think I'm hating the truth is I was a die hard Eagles for over a decade. I was young when the Raiders and Rams left Los Angeles and I took it pretty rough because I went from having two home teams in my backyard to zero. Randall Cunningham was the reason I went with the Eagles back then and like I said I was an Eagle for at least 10 years until they traded Donavon Mcnabb. I got feed up with the way the fans and organization treated their Hall Of Fame Quarterback. So since I have been a Raiders / Chargers fan again but that's enough about me. I only told you that so you can understand me when I say somehow Donavon Mcnabb and the Vikings or maybe Vick's old team the Falcons are going to eliminate the Eagles from Playoff contention. Honestly I just want to see Donavon Mcnabb finally get his ring. He deserves it and Vikings fans deserve it if not for anything else, at least it's a reason to not move the team. I just don't think the Viking linemen are strong enough for a complete Super Bowl run. Finally my six picks out of the NFC are Vikings, Lions, Rams, Falcons, Cowboys, Eagles,. Call me crazy but even after the packers come back with a stronger team I truly think they will stumble out of the playoffs.

Now let me tell you why this 2012 NFL Season will be one you wont forget. Starting with the lockout, my main point is one your not seeing on ESPN from the experts. Everyone is talking about the short mini-camp and short free-agent period. It's true and those factors will result in more fumbles, more miscommunication and less unity. That alone makes for a very exciting and more balanced first 6 weeks, which is a third of the season by the way. Not me. I am concerned with what I have always been concerned with when it comes to football. Home Field Advantage. Mark my words... this years home team will win at a record rate. Are you asking why? You shouldn't have too. Everyone in the NFL nation knows that the only one hurting from the lockout was the fans and every fan around the nation knows just how close we came to not starting this season on time. This year the NFL fans are going to win some football games for your local team. We are going to be so juiced up that the home teams players will have no choice but to feed off of it. We all know how Ray Lewis feed off the crowd's energy. Trust me, you will see, hear and feel the difference.

Overall we came close to losing are main squeeze and now we can wipe the sweat off our foreheads and get back to the transactions and the gridiron. There sure is plenty to talk about. Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson goes to New England, Reggie Bush is now in South Beach playing for the Dolphins and the Eagles are now the Miami Heat of professional football. Cam Newton starting week 1, Palixico Burress scoring in the big apple for the Jets and everyone in the galaxy knows the NFC West is going to keep a 10 win team out of the Playoffs. Which team will it be? That I do not know but I can tell you without a doubt, The Houston Texans will be 2012 Super Bowl Champions.

The Best Athlete of All Time

As we acknowledge a great class of NFL Hall Of Fame inductions one particular star shines a little bit brighter. Each inductee has a great story and Honorable legacy but Deon "Primetime" Sanders is definitely head of the class. Shannon Sharpe had a speech that brought a tear to my eye. Richard Dent and Marshall Faulk are both well deserving but this year we are closing the sports book on possibly the greatest athelte of all time.

I am not saying Deon Sanders is the best football player ever but he is the best and most entertaining cornerback that I have ever seen play the game. Darelle Revis is Harold Minor compared to Primtime and aside of Devin Hester most would not even question Neon Deon as the greatest Kick Returner of all-time. He is a 1st Ballot NFL Hall Of Famer and it's more than well deserved.

Today I pondered the question of who is the best athlete of all-time. I easily dismissed Micheal Phleps but i may put him in the discussion if he can manage a repeat of his Olympic glory. It's take consistency to hold this crown but I just cant forget Bo Jackson. I feel so bad thinking of what could have been if Bo Jackson played another 8 years in the NFL. I think about so often because Bo Jackson himself claims that that injury was the best thing that happened to him due to it leading to his relationship with God. I cant argue with him there but I hate thinking about the affect it had on not only Raiders but ever other Athlete that aspired the be a real Athlete and excel in more than one sport. Bo Jackson should have been the Best Athlete Of All-Time but he didn't do it long enough.

Deon Sanders did stay rather healthy and fans across the globe in both baseball and football were blessed to see the 8th wonder of the world known as Primetime. Deon Sanders for those to young to remember didn't try to play baseball like Micheal Jordan, Deon was a real baseball player. He played for the Yankees! You don't play major league baseball on accident and for one season Deon actually batted over .300. He Played in a World Series and electrified the baseball diamond for almost a decade.

All this come after he dominated the SEC as a Florida St. Seminole but the average sports fan lacks the knowledge of Deon Sanders playing his way to a All-State Basketball Career as a high school student in Fort Meyers, Florida. He most likely could have played any sport he wanted. Deon was a special athlete because he was a special person and true hero that never stopped going hard. We all have our opinions but in my eyes he is the Best Athlete Of All-Time.
