Dear readers,

It has become increasingly difficult to understand the ever evolving minds of today's woman, things were so much easier when apples and blackberries were fruits. It would have been easy to just hear "hi honey, i want a blackberry for Val's day" but now any fruit that your loved one mentions is a total source of high blood pressure (to think that fruits are supposed to be the source of healthy living).

Now although the saying is true, that you can't put a price on love but it is also wise to know that a price tag is the safest way to preserve love. So what are your plans for Val's day? whatever it maybe just be creative about it because despite the continuous evolution of the female mind the key has not changed (just be corny but not too corny).

Hi there, I am back again :D i stumbled on these pictures online with some friends and they were put together with an amazing configuration that made it easy to compare.

My next question was "are you guys trying to see who's hotter?" and the response was "nope this is the same person".

I was like "hell no it cant be" but then i looked closer and discovered it was actually the same person.

Apparently she is a wannabe actress in the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood as it is popularly called) Her story is that in order to rise in the industry she had to become white :D (i'm just saying) but seriously what could be the reason for developing the decease popularly known as TMJS "The Michael Jackson Syndrome" where you lose your God given skin pigments that make you a natural black person.

But to be fair the last picture might have been make up from a fake movie set and the second must have been the camera lighting (Trying to make excuses). I really don't know her name but i guess she must have gone to one of the Lagos State Higher Institutions, i hope she's not that famous but if she is then... i guess she is.

Hi there folks,

Last night's event was grand and it showcased a lot of fun talent, i was a bit astonished by the fact that almost all the winners were relatively young or new artists. Which brings me to one conclusion; there is an age for everything and everyone. No matter how long you've been in the game you would eventually become number 2, except if you are Michael Jackson of course.

Without further ceremony let me skip into the awards and the winners in no particular order.

Its me again, as usual i was browsing with nothing in particular to do and came across this Youtube video of the 11 year old girl doing her own rendition of Adele's Sky Fall - The Original Sound Track for the new James Bond Movie (which is awesome by the way). I thought it was a real good show of talent in a kid this young, who knows maybe she could be the next Justine Bieber.

Steps to take when you have an Asthma Attack

Hi there folks, readers and follower...The strangest thing just happened, my friend at work just broke down with an asthma attack and it was really horrible to watch her suffer like that and that is what inspired me to write this post. When i think of the fact that i also am asthmatic it just freaks me out to think... that what if i wasn't there or what if i didn't know these step? what would have happened?

Here are a few steps you need to take to guarantee your survival when you have an asthma attack;

1. Take one to two puffs of your reliever inhaler (usually blue), immediately.
2. Sit down and try to take slow, steady breaths.
3. If you do not start to feel better, take two puffs of your reliever inhaler (one puff at a time) every two minutes. You can take up to ten puffs.
4. If you do not feel better after taking your inhaler as above, or if you are worried at any time, call for help.
5. If an ambulance does not arrive within 10 minutes and you are still feeling unwell, repeat step 3.

In the event that you do not have your inhaler, do the following;

Hi there, Top of the day to all my readers, so here is the First edition of many spontaneous challenges that i would throw open to the public... well mostly folks on twitter, i gave a task and this was aimed to see how people would think under the influence of motivation (in form of prizes or cash). And i was rewarded to see that there are a couple of intuitive and clever people out there on twitter.

Explanation: The challengers were to enter the competition by sending out a tweet to 5 friends and cc yours truly @gokesean, they were permitted to write anything in the tweet and the first person to have all 5 follower reply the tweet before 12 noon would win the prize of 5,000 Naira.

Ok so i threw it open like so and had some pretty good challengers enter with the weirdest tweets and what surprised me was the winner of the competition and the runner up, They immediately Tweeted 5 people saying "Please reply this tweet immediately its urgent". That i must say caught me off guard. i saw other tweets like "dead people walk among us" or something uniquely peculiar like that, but well done.

To Sing or Not to Sing?

From the classic plays of the world famous William Shakespeare the words that echo in the memory of many of us would be "To be or not To be". Now in the new age we have a classic new phenomenon coming to light and that is the Nigerian famous Tonto Dikeh. My question this time to you would be "To sing or not to sing?" i just listened to the song and found that its not half bad, there were a lot of unclear areas in the recording that could have been due to poor production or an over use of T Pain's quick fix remedy for people that can't sing (Auto Tunes).

So let me know your thoughts in the comment section because i actually think that that song would rock a club after hours because it sounds like something one would enjoy when you are high. After all that was the general idea of the song to begin with. So people i put the question forward TO SING OR NOT TO SING? it was because of strong comments from well meaning Nigerians like yourselves that we were saved from the singing disaster we call Jim Ike. Let me know your Thoughts.

I see blogger has made a few new changes to the services they render, which gives me a good reason to start blogging all over again. :)

My friend an i would be working on a new project on Youtube called Inside Out, you might want to be a part of it, stay on this blog to find out details of the new Youtube online show as we would post most of the initial releases here. Its really nice to blog and nice to be back here and i really hope i can keep it up this time.

The Love For Nigeria

Nigeria i s a great nation filled with wonderful people... Thats the general statement anyway but people on the inside just say it to give themselves a reason to believe in the best and usually that is the easy part.

But in as much as majority of the populist do not believe this saying is true it is amazing to find that people that have read the history of Nigeria, mingled with the Nigerian culture probably in classrooms, play houses or groups have come to appreciate the richness of the Nigerian heritage. Well in another thought pattern this could be due to the syndrome of "the grass is greener on the other side" but then again we all know that Africa has the least greenest grass of the face of this rock called Earth.

Then it brings me to the question; why then do people that don't live here choose to see the best in Nigeria and we that live on the inside are scrambling to get out? It goes to show that on the outside looking in, there is a greater value that is not appreciated by those on the inside that is seen by those looking in... Nigeria 50 years and we still do not see a change. A friend has taught me that the change you are looking for starts from within, we must begin to see Nigeria in a better light and paint our nation in the once glorious splendor that once was, because in truth Nigeria is us (You and Me) and we must make ourselves better.

The blackberry device is a very important tool in communicating but it has also become a top entertainment tool used in spreading the hottest gist; through texting, pictures and voice or sound. The fascinating thing about this device is not the functionality or the gadgets the device possesses but the internet access granted to the device by the various service providers.

In this part of the world the blackberry has become the usual phone to use to keep in constant touch with the outside world, would this be so if other phones were given this "unlimited" internet access? In other parts of the world the Nokia, Iphones and other devices are given this option and therefore have competed favorably against the rising market demand of the blackberry device.

Well at least from my end it will keep me blogging and for that I am content, I just hope that it would afford me the chance to upload photos so I can give up to date information about life as it happens and entertainment around everywhere I go. Till my next post have a lovely week.

Days gone by

Hi guys, sorry i haven't blogged in a while its been kinda busy these past few days but trust me you haven't missed much. Well i guess the reason i got on my key board today was not because i have any Entertainment gist to give but because i had to know how you (my readers) Would react to this very sad and awkward situation.... So here goes.

I was on my way to work as usual and i turn on the car radio to 92.3 Inspiration Fm and Dan Foster was playing gospel jams as usual, then this guy calls in and start to narrate the saddest sorry i think i have heard in a long time... He said he just got a baby girl but in the process he lost his wife and the baby's twin brother, he said he had only been married for a year and he loved every minute of it. What actually caught my attention was the fact that in all the disaster and sadness that he had gone through he found the strength to say "it is well" and "thank you Jesus", and for me that way hard and yet so worming to know that in the midst of the raging storms he had the mind to look up to God and not blame him.... hmmm.

So i was wondering what would you do in such a situation? You know it is easy to remember God in times of trouble and hardship like this example of the man that wrote the hylm "Rock of ages Cleft for me" his story was that he was stuck on a deserted road and he had nowhere to go to then the rain started and he took shelter under a rock and then remembered that God was that road in his time of need. But in times of disaster i dear say it is not easy to remember God, like the example of the man that wrote and composed the hylm "It is Well", he lost his entire family in a ship wreck and still could say "no matter my loss thou has taught me to say... It is well" wow strong words...sniff sniff....

By any means that is a brave man with a daughter that would feel all the strength of God's wisdom since her father took the right step... WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS or COMMENTS?

“I don’t know that many people that like to wash out their dirty linen in public like you do,” my friend would probably say when he reads this. But his concerns haven’t helped me much, else I wouldn’t be writing this.

I called up the poor fellow just last night to tell him about my brake up with yet another girl and all he could mutter was “Not again!” Maybe I have issues, maybe I do not. But before you judge me you should know this – love and all that mushy feeling that more often than not accompanies it, only turns your brain to eh, mush. Don’t get me wrong. I am not afraid to love, but for some reason I lack the necessary skill to deal with it I guess.

It’s a mere four lettered word but it is to a grown man what the boogey man is to kids. And we thought we were all grown. I hate to make excuses, but I believe someone other than me should be made responsible for why my heart skips every time a girl uses the word “love” in a sentence. The context in which she is using it is almost irrelevant as far I am concerned. It starts with how much she loves mangoes, or mineral water and then every time she mentions her annoying little dog, pooky, she reminds you of how much she loves him too. It’s a sign, but only a few of us are attentive enough to spot it. I knew there was trouble brewing, and it was only a matter of time before she likens me to pooky. I was so right.

She said the word.

On my drive home the night she first spoke those words, I kept asking myself, “Why do I have to respond with an “I love you too,” to an “I love you”?

You took a minute, pondered over it and still didn’t get an answer suitable enough for that question, right? I didn’t either.

I care for her, like her, yes. But I wasn’t so sure I was in love. “You wouldn’t be able to tell, even if love were like a pellet and struck you in the face” was all she said and right before she left me, angered, her heels digging into the ground as she stormed off.

Go ahead and call me a schmuck, see if I care. How many people say “I like you too” as a response to an “I love you,” huh? It might sound dumb but I was trying to be sincere. They are quick to point out that men were all liars. My friend Nike is nice enough to say “99% are. “ and here I am, trying to be good for once but somehow I still did bad.

I hate to say the obvious but… Chicks love lies!

If I had confessed love too, I probably would be planning a weekend with pooky, my girlfriend and a grey big elephant right about now. But I didn’t, and that was my crime.

Sometimes I am tempted to ask Do we say we love because it is culturally accepted, because it is politically correct or is it because we feel like the people we love were important parts of us? parts that needs be cherished, wholly and unconditionally?

I don’t know how it works for others but I like to look before i jump, because when I do, I know I am prepared to keep my head afloat no matter the circumstances.

Sweetie, if you are reading this, I hope you now understand that Love is a rather ambiguous word. If you loved me like you claimed, and love were true, and real, and relevant, and conquers all, then it should make no demands.(Now I am sounding like a girl)

Men, I like to think are like sweet potatoes, all hard from the outside. But you boil and stew em and the taste is… So if you love ‘em be not afraid of the challenges.

I am not blaming you. Guess I should blame the media or peer pressure or society or something but I am sure as hell not taking the wrap for this one either.

I don’t hate pooky. I just think he is annoying. Really annoying!

The rate at which Naija videos are improving is definitely something to be applauded... Lara George is at it again with a brand new video featuring Lord of Ajasa... Wow what can i say the girl is holding it down real good.
Comments on the video would be appreciated but i think the editing was superb and it was really nice and refreshing to watch.... Enjoy watching

Hanging out with Banky W could be really exciting as you would find that even as a star he copes with regular day to day events within Nigeria (No wonder he is a champion in the cause #lightupnigeria) i guess that is because he faces the NEPA wahala like most Nigerians do... In the interview you would catch him while he is working out, in his hangout spot and in the studio. He talks about living in Nigeria and the rewards he has seen. We would also get a chance to sneak into his brand new video 'Strong Thing' ok ok let me leave you to watch the video!!!. Hope you enjoy watching...

The Legend lives on!!! This fall, Fela Kuti will be brought back to life in a Broadway Musical Series. Fela's music has been a major influence on the world culture over the past 4 decades. In addition to being a world renowned artist, Fela is also very well known as a political activist, speaking out about injustices in the earlier Nigerian/African governments, and colonial influences.
The musical is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones, and Fela Kuti is played by Sahr Ngaujah.
The musical will showcase and explore Fela's controversial life as artist, political activist and revolutionary musician. The show will feature numerous Fela Kuti songs, and promises to be a one in a lifetime experience. This is a must-see if you can.

Artist Review: Rooftop MCs

Being in Naija Hip Hop and staying on top is not an easy task but even more difficult is putting the gospel first and still remain on top... Well i guess that's the story of our very own Naija gospel hip hop artists the Rooftop MCs that have managed to keep it together, tight and under control.

They have come out with many chart toppers, show busters and dance hall songs while still reminding the fans where their anchor lies (In God). Two young talented minds have made their way from back stage rapping through the ranks to the summit of the Nigeria rap culture.

People ask 'can they keep it real?' i think by real they mean "gospel" and i think the answer would be that they have been on the rooftop for many years now and i don't see them coming down... Kunle and Laitan friends & brothers in the same cause have chosen to lift their mics to honor the most high, doing it in the most unorthodox of ways mixing hip hop with the likes of rock, fuji and other styles that you wouldn't imagine could blend with rap. Rooftop MCs a crew to watch out for in Naija Hiphop...

With an album on the way "drunken master" you should know what to expect... Something extremely diffrenet form the rest. Gongo Aso master as he is popularly called has decided that he is not holding on to a back log of music videos, i guess it could be seen as an act of cleaning out his closet... I guess this is because he is in the works to release a new album so he has to deal with the 'ghost of albums past'. In my opinion i think the photocopy video was nothing out of the ordinary that we have seen come out of the new improved Naija music industry but the Pamurogo was a little out of the box, refreshing and cool to watch... well as i said 'to my opinion', whats yours?... But thumbs up to him as it is not an easy task in all.

Finally it is here after so many months of waiting... song came out around September 2007 and rocked clubs, parties, DJ mixes and the works... I remember back on camp at the makeshift radio station if we did not play gongo aso at least 20 times that day it was assumed that we didn't play it at all. So here it is the official video by 9ice, not some white dude with a guitar!. The Video features the ever famous D'banj and Don Jazzy with a lot of 9ice looking babes. In my opinion, with what i saw i don't see why the video took this long to come out...
