This very special  bulerias workshop will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 4, 5 and 6 from 1:00 pm to  4:00 pm each day, at the <a href="http://www.americandanceinstitute.com/" target="_blank">American Dance Intitute</a>, 8007 Greenwood Ave N in Seattle,  WA.</p>
<p>Each three hour session will include a rigorous technique class and bulerias  choreography with Cihtli during the first 90 minutes, followed by an intensive  class with guitarist/singer Ethan Margolis, demonstrating different styles of  cante from various Andalucian towns (Jerez, Lebrija, Moron, Utrera and Cadiz)  and how to work with them appropriately.</p>
<p><a href="http://arteypureza.com/tour/artists/cihtli.html" target="_blank">Cihtli</a> has lived in Sevilla since 2000 and trained exclusively with the  Farruco family.  She has performed with them throughout Spain and the U.S., and  with many other flamenco luminaries such as Ines Bacan, Concha Vargas and Miguel  Funi.</p>
<p><a href="http://arteypureza.com/tour/artists/ethan.html" target="_blank">Ethan Margolis</a> has also lived in Sevilla for the past decade, dedicating  himself to learning and preserving the purest forms of Gypsy flamenco.  He produced the CD &#8220;Aires  Gitanos&#8221; with Miguel Funi, and composed a flamenco rock opera, &#8220;Spanish Day&#8221; performed as part of their U.S tour this year.  Arte y Pureza has toured the  U.S. three times to sold out houses and resounding acclaim.</p>
<p>Costs:  All three dance workshops, (3 hours each) $280; 2 days $190, one day  $95.</p>
<p>Guitarists and singers are encouraged to audit; audit fee is $30 for the  second half of any day (2:30-4) or $45 for the full 3 hours.</p>
<p>Audiotaping is permitted throughout; videotaping permitted for the last 10 minutes of the  choreography section.</p>

Flamenco Guitar Accompaniment Master Class: If there is one thing you need to know as a flamenco guitarist(aside from playing in compas), it is how to play for a singer. Rafael and Eric will be breaking it down into simple, easy to apply fundamentals. Compás, letras, cambios, multiple chord voices, when and when not to play, how to follow, and how to play Bulería in 6/8.<br />
Pre-requisite: Basic flamenco guitar technique and compas por Bulería.<br />
Cost: $60pre reg./$70 walk-in</p>

Flamenco Cajón Master Class: Juanma will teaching a general flamenco cajón course covering technique, compas, and multiple palos at various levels of difficulty.<br />

<p>Currently, Luis is touring all over the world with Joaquin Cortes as a member of his company in stage productions such as, “Mi Soledad” and “Cale”.<br />
He is considered as the one of the finest multi-instrumentalists for the stage as well as recording.<br />
Luis has recorded and performed with artists such as Jorge Pardo, Israel Varela, Tomatito, Juan de Juan, Pepe Habichuela, Farruquito, Belen Maya, Joaquin Grilo, Chick Corea, Pata Negra, and Diego Amador.</p>
<p>Born into one of the most prominent gypsy families, the Amador clan, Luis Amador has lived flamenco since birth. Luis&#8217;s background includes a life with his father, Rafael, and uncle, Raimundo Amador, founders of the world famous band “Pata Negra”, and known as innovators of flamenco and blues fusion. His other uncle is accomplished recording artist Diego Amador.<br />
As a child, flamenco legends such as Camaron and Tomatito frequently visited his home, where he learned the traditions of flamenco music. He was also exposed to the jazz artists that influenced his father such John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Art Blakey, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis.</p>
