Secret Cat 6.0 submitted to App Store

Version 6.0 update of Secret Cat has been submitted to the App Store. . It may take somewhat longer than the usual 4-7 days to approve, although it should be available before the iTunes holiday shutdown, which begins on December 22nd for one week.

NEW: Ability to take photos directly into secret images, by user request.

NEW: Ability to change titles of existing text notes and images.

NEW: Add option button to text page display (email, change title, delete).

FIXED: Several issues with some iOS 5 devices which had problems selecting images and choosing Secret Cat patterns.

FIXED: Issue in some iOS versions where saved secret image pictures could be rotated.

FIXED: Cosmetic text prompt issues and memory leaks.

Secret Cat 5.1 update available for download

The Secret Cat 5.1 update is now available for download from the App Store. It has the following changes:

Added the ability to set Secret text color and background by user request.
Added ability to swipe to delete text and images by user request.
Fixed a problem with later version devices where the save on terminate option wasn’t always working properly.
Fixed several memory leaks.

Secret Cat major update 5.0 submitted to App Store today

Version 5.0 update of Secret Cat was submitted to the App Store on Wednesday, April 6th. It should be available for download in about a week, sometimes sooner. This is a major update which incorporates a a paint body parts with patterns feature to allow much greater personal customization of your Secret Cat image. Changes are as follows:

NEW: Users may paint over separate Secret Cat body parts with patterns from their personal image files. The new feature supports five pattern sizes and variable transparency to allow none, some, or most of the body color to show through the pattern.

NEW: Users may choose to have secret images saved either as their original size or as edited (square with scale) size. Secret image views may be swiped forward and backward in addition to the existing navigation arrows.

NEW: Custom background images may either be their original size or an edited size.

FIXED: A crash which could occur when changing from the default background to a custom background and then back to the default background was fixed.

Secret Cat version 4.3 update submitted to App Store (now available)

The 4.3 update of Secret Cat was submitted to the App Store and should be available for download in a few days. This update contains the following changes:

Added high resolution images for Retina Display support.
By user request, added an option which requires both unlocking moves and a password to unlock Secret Cat for maximum security.
Miscellaneous minor changes.

Secret Cat 4.2 update submitted to App Store (now available)

Secret Cat version 4.2, a free update, has been submitted to the App Store. With luck it will be available to download in a somewhat shorter time than the 11 days it took to approve the last update to Zombie Zez.

NEW: By user request, Secret Cat has a stealth option which hides the help and Settings buttons on the main view.

FIXED: The keyboard could cover text at the end of an unlocked text view. This problem has been fixed.

CHANGED: Minor cosmetic changes.

Zombie Zez 2.1 update submitted to App Store (now Available)

Zombie Zez version 2.1 update was submitted to the App Store and should available in a few days.

This is a minor update:

Makes a random zombie noise when shaking the device to change the starting zombie.
At the main screen when not playing a game, the zombie reacts with sound and animation to touches on its active areas.
The Help and Credits font was changed because recent iOS updates made the original font too large for the screen layout.
Turned off Twitter bragging because Twitter’s recent authentication changes disabled the operation.

Free Flexible Counter app and planned Secret Cat 4.2 update

Count things in style, your way. Flexible Counter supports 1, 2, 3, or 4 counters with user-selected images, label text, and colors; 15 click sounds; optional minus and clear buttons; all configurable per counter. Save and load 5 layouts and totals; email counts; works in either orientation.

Also, a 4.2 update for Secret Cat is planned for release in early November 2010. By user request it will support a stealth mode feature which optionally removes the help button, and also allows hiding the settings navigation button on the main page. Stay tuned for more release announcements.

Secret Cat 4.1 update submitted to App Store (now available)

Secret Cat version 4.1 has been submitted to the App Store.

This is a minor update. A problem was fixed where high-resolution images selected for Secret Cat’s background could intermittently cause an out of memory error and crash on certain devices.

Version 4.1 should be available for downloading within a week, or hopefully somewhat sooner, if there are no problems with the submission.

Secret Cat 4.0 update (available in App Store)

Secret Cat 4.0 has been submitted to the App Store and should be available for download within approximately one week (based on past update review times).

This is a major update, with support for multiple text pages and images, by popular demand.

NEW: Secret Cat allows multiple text pages of your secrets, with a title of up to 16 characters for each page. Secret Cat also saves images from your photos to the protected area.

NEW: An option was added to Settings to support automatically saving text changes on app exit.

Changed: Landscape rotation for text views was improved and a small memory leak was corrected. Minor wording and layout changes.

You may wish to email yourself your My Secrets text before updating in case of problems during the update.

Secret Cat 4.0 final progress report

In response to user queries about the status of Secret Cat's latest update, we are pleased to announce that development work on Secret Cat 4.0 is complete today, August 11, 2010. The update incorporates image as well as multiple text page enhancements.

Testing of the new features is underway and should continue for the next 2 - 4 days. There are a few performance and stability issues with displaying images on certain devices with pre-iOS 4.0 operating systems, so efforts are being concentrated in this area.

Following testing, the Secret Cat 4.0 update will be submitted to the App Store. The submission will be announced, and its acceptance, as with previous Secret Cat updates.

Secret Cat 4.0 progress report

So it's the first week of August, the most recent time period we had announced plans to complete Secret Cat version 4.0. Here is a progress report on Secret Cat development.

Support for multiple text pages is complete and currently in final testing without problems. A new Secret Cat option to save text on app exit has also been successfully tested.

Images are being the problem child of the new feature set and are not yet fully implemented or tested. We still hope to complete support for protecting user-selected images during this coming weekend as the final new feature of Secret Cat 4.0, then submit it to the App Store early next week. No guarantees, but we get a little closer to the release version every day.

If you don't have Zombie Zez, the video shows how the game looks and works. For best viewing, pick 720 playback resolution since the iPhone images are much clearer than at lower resolutions.

Work on Secret Cat 4.0 continues apace. If we encounter no further development problems, the plan is to finish and submit the update to the App Store in the first week of August 2010.

New Secret Cat features for the upcoming version 4.0 update

Design of the new Secret Cat update is now complete. By popular request from users, Secret Cat 4.0 will support multiple text pages and images in the locked area of My Secrets. Programming on Secret Cat version 4.0 has now begun and is currently planned for completion by early August 2010, at which time it will be submitted to the App Store.

Zombie Zez version 2.0 was submitted to Apple's App Store today. If there are no problems it should be available for downloading within a week.

This is a major update.

New: Shake the device before playing to change the current zombie. A high score option was added and highest recorded score highlighting added to player score displays. Background music speed will play slower on lower difficulty levels and faster on higher levels. Help content was expanded.
Changed: Zombie Zez was compiled and tested to run with iOS 4, including Help font slightly reduced for better compatibility
Corrected: A small memory leak was fixed.

For Secret Cat owners, this update allows us to now fully concentrate on the forthcoming version 4.0 update. We hope to complete it before the end of July, but the schedule depends on how problematic the planned enhancements are to implement and test.

Secret Cat 3.1 update (now available)

Secret Cat version 3.1 update has been submitted to Apple's App Store and should be available for downloading in a few days.

This is a minor update from version 3.0.

New: Increased variety of cat meow sounds, and minor improvements in the Settings display.
Change: Internal code changes to maintain compatibility with future iOS releases beyond 3.x.

Zombie Zez is a midnight submission to the App Store

Tonight, we finished testing and submitted Zombie Zez to Apple's App Store. If there are no problems, it should be available in a few days.

Zombie Zez is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch (and iPad with its iPhone app support). Match the zombie moves before time runs out. Zombie Zez allows 1-4 players; with 4 zombies, 4 difficulty levels plus practice, and 4-50 total moves. Hear over 40 sound effects and original background music.

Build points by touching the ear, eye, or mouth in sequence within the time limit. The faster you touch, the harder the difficulty, and the longer the move sequence, the more points you earn. As difficulty increases, time limits decrease and the background, sounds, and even the zombies change between moves. Make a mistake or run out of time and it's game over. Brag about your score via email, Twitter, or Facebook account. Up to 20 different players' high scores for each difficulty level are stored on your device and can be viewed from the information display.
