How To Change Back To Old Blogger Dashboard

Recently, Blogger introduced a new clean interface designed for a streamlined blogging experience. While some Bloggers including me,are enjoying the new Blogger interface, some are not. If you have switched to the new Blogger interface and not yet comfortable with it, you can still switch back to the old Blogger dashboard.

How To Get Started

Log in to your blog at www.blogger.com or www.blogspot.com

Look at the top-right corner and click on the "Blogger options" icon.

You will see a drop-down list as seen in the picture below:

Click on the "Old Blogger Interface" link.

The page will be automatically refreshed and switched back to the old Blogger dashboard.

That's all.

Please, try and get used to the new Blogger interface because it is loaded with new features not available in the Old Blogger dashboard which includes the Google+1 Counter.

How To Add Friends on Mozat Chat App

After you might have installed Mozat messenger onto your phone, you will have to add friends for you to chat using the Mozat app. You can add friends by adding their Mozat PINs. If you know the phone number of your friend, you can also add the friend using his/her mobile number.

How To Get Started

==> Launch the Mozat App
==> Scroll to "Chats" (right under the Mozat screen)
==> Select Menu.
==> You will see some options. Select ADD FRIEND
==> You will see the different ways you can add friends i.e Add by PIN, Add by Mobile Number etc

==> Select "add by PIN" if you know the PIN of the friend you want to add. Enter the PIN and select OK.
==> Select "add by mobile number" if you know the phone number of the friend you want to add.

A request will be sent to the friend and once accepted, you guys will be connected and can start chatting on Mozat.

The SEARCH for FRIENDS option allows you to search for those that are online, those that have pictures and you can also choose if it is male or female you want.

That's all.

Note: Though you can use Mozat app to chat with a Blackberry user who also have a Mozat account but you cannot add BBM PIN to the Mozat app. You can only add a MOZAT PIN.

Google Plus One Counter added to New Blogger Dashboard

Blogger has introduced another Google Plus integration feature into Blogger dashboard. You might have already noticed this if you are using the new Blogger dashboard. The new feature is a "Google Plus One Counter".

The G+1 counter displays a count of how many times each post has been Google +ed, right beside each published post in your Blogger dashboard. Each time a reader clicks the +1 button on a post, a +1 gets added to that post's counter and their profile photo and name will appear.

These counts are available only in the new Blogger interface. So if you are still using the old Blogger dashboard, this might be a good time to make a move.

As an author, the Google Plus One Counter will allow you to quickly scan your dashboard to see which posts are most popular on your blog.

How To Load Airtime on Glo iPad Without Removing SIM Card

You can load recharge cards or airtime on the Apple iPad powered by Glo Mobile Nigeria, without removing your SIM card from your iPad. Mind you, your iPad must be 3G iPad and not just a wifi iPad. ( Ordinary wifi iPads do not have slot for SIM card) .

How To Get Started

==> Tap the Settings icon on your iPad screen

==> Tap "Mobile data" or "Cellular data". You should now see "SIM Applications" as seen in the picture below

==> Tap the "SIM Applications" > Magic Plus > My Account > Balance > Recharge

==> You will now see where you can enter your recharge pin as seen in the picture below

==> Enter the recharge card pin without putting any code in front. i.e just type 123456789123456

==> Tap the "Send" button.

If successful, your account balance will be displayed on the screen.

That's all.

NOTE: If you can't find the "SIM Applications" option on your iPad, you will have to go to the nearest Gloworld office to get a new Glo MicroSIM card for iPad.

How to Submit Blogger Sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools

In my previous posts, I have shared with you, how to submit your Blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools and I also explained how to submit your blog to Yahoo and Bing search engines. Today, I am sharing with you, how to submit the sitemap of your Blogger/Blogspot blog to Bing webmaster tools.

How to Get Started

You must have submitted and verified your blog as explained in my post :"How to add blog to Yahoo and Bing"

Go to : http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster

Log in with your hotmail or live account details

Click on "Webmasters Tools Sign In"

Right under "Sites", click on the blog you want to submit it's sitemap

A new page will open. Click on Crawl ==> Sitemaps (XML, Atom, RSS)

Click on the "Add Feed" button

A new window will pop up. Type in atom.xml in the provided box as seen in the picture below:

Click "Submit"

That's all.

Once approved, your posts will be indexed asap once you publish them.

How To Submit Blog To Yahoo Search Engine

After creating your blog, I am sure you will like to see your blog appear as part of the search results displayed when Yahoo search engine is used to search for anything that you might have posted to your blog. For your blog to be listed as part of Yahoo search results, you must add your site to Yahoo. This is part of what is known as "Search Engine Optimization".

In my previous posts, I shared with you how to add url to Google search engine and also how to submit sitemaps via Google webmaster tools. Today, I am sharing with you, how to add your blog to Bing and Yahoo search engines, so that your blog can get listed in search results returned by Yahoo and Bing search engines.

With the completion of algorithmic transition to Bing, Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Hence, to ensure that your blog continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo, you must also be using Bing webmaster Tools, in addition to Google webmaster Tools.

How To Get Started

==> You must have an hotmail or live email address. If you do not have one, get one for free at www.live.com

Go to www.live.com and log in with your hotmail or live account details

Go to : http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster

Click on "Webmasters Tools Sign In"

Once logged in, click the ‘Home’ link to get to the Webmaster Tools Home page

Click ‘Add Site’ on the Home page

Enter your blog address and click "submit"

You will be presented with three options with which you can verify your site.

Click on "Option 2: Copy and paste a tag in your default webpage".

You will see a code. You will have to paste this code into your blog. (Don't close this page)

Open a new window, log in to your blogger blog and go to Design ==> Edit html (if using old dashboard) or go to Template ==> Edit html ==> Proceed ( if using new Blogger dashboard).

Once you are in the "edit html" mode, use CTRL F to find <b:skin>

Copy and paste the code from Bing Webmaster Tools right above it.

Click on "Save Template"

Go back to the "Bing Webmaster Tools" page and click on the "Verify" button.

That's all.

You will have to wait for some days before you will start seeing some data about the blog you added.

How To Print Recharge Cards/Vouchers With A Free Software (Mtn, Glo, Zain etc)

This short note is for those who really want to start the recharge voucher printing business on a small scale or for those who just want to give it a try. You must have access to a computer before you can use this software, not compulsory that it is connected to internet. You will print and manage your encrypted PINS from this software after. Connect your printer to the computer and print in batches. You may inscribe your business name on the voucher if you wish. Mind you, I don't waste my time engaging in schemes like Surveys, Paid to Read Emails. Believe it or not, I make money everyday. In this post, am highlighting ways I make money online for you. My blog, www.ogbongeblog.com is my office on the internet. I started it in 2008, when I was a final year MicroBiology student. Yes, am a Microbiology graduate but I have decided to follow my passion, which makes me to be where I am today. My blog wasn't really making sense when I started but I so much believe it will grow with time and am so glad it's making a lot of sense now. All praises to God..

I use my blog to share things I know with people all around the world while also using it to promote all I do. The blog, makes money for me directly and indirectly. The more I share things I know, the more I win the trust of many people and when people trust you, they will find it easy to buy things you sell.

1. Money from Google Adsense

I make money consistently from Google Adsense. Google Adsense allows me to place some Google ads on my blog. If you click on those Google ads, Google pays me. I receive my payment in form of checks which Google sends to me here in Nigeria via DHL and I cash the checks at GTBank via my dormiciliary account. I make cool money monthly from Adsense....you too can. God willing, I hope to be making more than this in years to come.

Adsense is a good way to make money but it takes time. If you are the greedy type looking for a fast way to make money online, Adsense is not for you because once you try fooling Google, you will get banned for life. Trust me. I hope to explore the international market in the future though....

3. Money from Setting up Blog for others/ Redesign

I make money redesigning other people's blogs. Some people who love my blog do ask me to redesign theirs while some pay me, just to create new blogs for them too. If you master the art of blogging, you too can start making money this way...

4. Money from advert placement

I make money helping some people to advertise their services right on my blog. Your blog must be big before people might be interested in paying you for this kind of service. 5. Money from Reviews and JVs

Some people do pay me to write about their websites on my blog. I also go into Joint- Venture partnership atimes, just to promote a product. If I help the partner to make some sales, I get paid.

I make money registering domain names, especially for bloggers wanting to change their blogspot address to dot com. You too can, if you know or learn how to do it.

11. Make money from Facebook services...

Some people do pay me to help them customize their Facebook Fan pages while some do pay me to help them advertise their products/services on Facebook.

12. Make Money from unlocking modems

Yes, I make money unlocking fastlink modems, Glo NetPro modem and Airtel modems for people intrested in using other network sim cards on their 3G modems. Those interested do send me recharge vouchers which I use to pay for my internet subscriptions. I also sell the Unlockers to those interested in return for cash.

These are not the only ways of making money, just that those above are the ones I concentrate on for now.

Affiliate Marketing, Site Flipping etc are other ways you can make money online but am not really exploring them for now.

How To Remove Mobstac Code from Blogger/Blogspot Blogs

Mobstac has been powering the mobile version of OgbongeBlog for a while now but I have decided to stop using the service. I have removed the code from my blog, hence, you will no longer be redirected to the mobstac-powered mobile version of Ogbongeblog if you access www.ogbongeblog.com with your mobile phone.
Henceforth, you will be redirected to the Blogger-powered mobile version which is very easy to set up with Blogger mobile templates. You will now find it so easy to comment on the posts even anonymously and you will also find it so easy to navigate the categories via the top menu bar. Below is a preview:

How to Remove Mobstac Code

Log in to www.blogger.com or www.blogspot.com

Go to Design (Old dashboard) or Template ( New dashboard)

Click on Edit html to see the Edit html box

(If you are using the new blogger dashboard, you will still have to click on "proceed" before you will see the edit html box.)

Once you are in the "edit html" mode, use CTRL F to find <head>

Right under the tag, you should see the mobstac script as highlighted in the picture below

Gently selecting the code from the opening tag and hit the delete button.

Click on the SAVE button.

If you added the Mobstac gadget to your sidebar, from your dashboard, go to Layout and delete the gadget.

That's all.

Wondering Why I Deactivated Mobstac?

Well, before now, mobstac offers a basic FREE service which allows you to create a mobile version of your blog with adsense also integrated in it. Today, I received an email message from the CEO, that they have decided to stop the free service. Looking at the new price plan, I realized it will cost me $25 per month for me to be able to intergate adsense with mobstac.

For now, if I complare this with what I earn monthly in adsense from mobstac powered version of my blog, it doesn't make sense. Hence, I just have to opt out till I think I have enough traffic that can earn me alot from mobile viewers.

I just hope Blogger will soon make Adsense to start displaying on blogger mobile templates when viewed with Opera mini browsers. As for now, I will have to be managing the adsense for mobile that displays when my blog is viewed on high end devices and some default browsers (excluding Opera mini).

Mozat Access Code NOT Sent To Your Phone?..The Solution

Recently, I shared how to download Mozat chat messenger to phones but I have noticed that many new users are finding it hard to verify their Mozat registration. Today, I have decided to share with you, a trick I used to verify my Mozat account when my Mozat access code was not sent to my phone after registration.

Steps

If you DID NOT receive your mozat verification code as a text message, minutes after registration;

== > Exit the Mozat app
== > Relaunch it
== > If you see "New User" or "Existing User" , choose "Existing User"
== > Enter the phone number you entered when you registered
== > On the new page that will come up, click on "No Code"

Check your phone message inbox for your access code. You should see it there.

How To Add Tabs to Blogger Blogs Header Section

Creating Blogger menu is now very easy via the new Blogspot Interface. You can now create menu on Blogspot blogs without using html and you can make the tabs to link to a post/page on your blog, a label or any external link. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create navigation tabs for your blogger blog without html coding.

You can make the tabs to appear horizontally under your blog header or on your sidebar as seen in the picture below:

If you create your navigation menu the way I am going to explain in this tutorial, the menu will also display on your blogger mobile template as seen on my own blogger mobile template below:

How To Get Started

== > If you are still using the old blogger , you can log in to your blogger dashboard and switch to the new blogger dashboard so you can easily follow this tutorial.

Log in to www.blogger.com or www.blogspot.com

Once logged into your dashboard, click on your blog and look by the left menu. Click on Pages . You should see something similar to the picture below:

You can use the "New Page" tab to create a new Blogger Page and a tab that links to any web address( This might be a link to a web page a blog post or a download link)

The "Show Pages as" tab is what you will use to control where you want your navigation tabs to appear on your blog. You can set it to appear under your header (Top tabs) or on the sidebar (Side links).

Example

Now, let me assume you want to create a tab that links to an external link ( eg www.ogbongesms.com).

Click on the "New Page" tab and click on "Web Address" as seen in the picture below:

You will see a new window like the one below :

==> Enter what you want to be displayed on the tab in the first text area. In this example, I entered "Send SMS"
==> Enter the web address you want to link to in the second text area. In this example, I entered "www.ogbongesms.com"

Click "Save".

What Next?

The next thing to do is to make the tabs appear on your blog.

So, click on the "Show pages as" tab and set it to "Top tabs"

Then, click on "Save Arrangement" by the top right hand corner of your dashboard.

View your blog and you should see the tabs appear under your blog header.

Want Your Tab to Point to a Label(Category)?

Remember, if you visit a LABEL's link, it will display the POSTS that has be categorized under the LABEL.

If you want to point your tab to a label (category), get the link of the label(category) handy and enter it in the space for "Web address" as explained when creating a tab pointing to external url above.

Below is what the structure of a Label/category link looks like:

'http://www.ogbongeblog.com/search/label/making%20money'

Don't know how to get your LABEL link? Well,provided you have already added the LABELS gadget to your blog, view your blog, right-click on one of the labels(categories) and choose "Copy Link Location". Paste it in a Notepad and use it accordingly.

That's all.

NOTE

If you click "Blank Page" after clicking the "New page" tab, you will see a page editor which you can use to create a Blogger page like Contact Me, About Me pages. Whatever you enter as the title of the page is what will display on the tab on your blog.

You can re-arrange your tabs or hide some PAGES you don't want to appear as tabs. To do this, go to "Layout" and click on the "edit" next to the "PAGES" gadget.

You should see a new window similar to the one below:

You can untick PAGES you want to hide. To re-arrange your tabs, just drag and drop (under Page order) to change the order of your tabs.

DSTV Payment Online in Nigeria at Quickteller.com Explained

There might be instances when you might not be able to make it to the bank or a dstv agent for you to pay for your dstv subscription, hence the need for an online payment for dstv. Today, I have decided to share with you, how to pay dstv subscription online in Nigeria.

The online payment method I will be explaining will involve the use of Quickteller.com, a payment online service, powered by Interswitch Nigeria, a Nigerian Payment gateway.

How To Get Started

Go to www.quickteller.com

Click the pay DSTV bills link under "DSTV subscription Payments"

A new page will open displaying the dstv packages, dstv prices and their respective payment codes

Click on the PAY button next to the dstv bouquet you want to pay for

A new page will come up, similar to the picture below:

Enter your email address, mobile phone number and your dstv smart card number. Click Next

You will see a new page where you will be asked to enter your Name. Enter your name and click next

You will see the Interswitch payment interface. Enter your Card details and submit. (You can pay with your Nigeria Verve card or Nigeria Mastercard)

If your payment is successful, you will see the success page. You will receive a text message and email confirming your payment.

How To activate Your dstv subscription

== > Once your payment is successful, tune your dstv decoder to dstv channel 114 ( Africa Magic)
== > Dial 01 2703232 (Multichoice contact number) on your phone (preferably the phone number you entered when making your payment)
== > Listen to the voice prompt and press 1 ( to fix the dstv error E16)
== > You will be asked to enter the first ten digits of your dstv smart card number.
== > Enter it, followed by the # key.

Wait for some minutes and your subscription will be activated.

That's all

Alternatively, you can pay dstv bill online with iMobile as I explained DSTV payment using mobile phone.

How To Add Reply Option To Blogspot Comments Without Javascript

Blogger now supports threaded commenting, hence, you might notice the "reply" option on below comments on blogspot blogs. This means it is now much easier to differentiate between whether someone is making a general comment on the thread, or responding to another comment on the thread.

How To Enable the Reply Option

Before now, some Blogspot users add the "reply "option to their comments using javascript but there is no need for that anymore, now that Bloggers supports threaded commenting. The "reply" option appears automatically on all Blogger blogs provided your blog meets the three conditions below:

1. The Blogger's commenting feature must be enabled
2. Your Blog feed must be set to FULL
3. You must be using the "Embedded comments"

If your blog meets the conditions above, then you’re ready to start a discussion with your readers.

To check, or change your feed settings, select: “Settings > Other and then “Full” from the “Allow Blog Feed” dropdown:

To check your current form setting, select: “Settings > Posts and Comments, and select “Embedded” from the “Comment Location” dropdown:

That's all.

This new threaded commenting also works with Blogger dynamic views and also on blogger mobile templates.

How To Enable Facebook Status Near Location (eg near Marseille, France)

Today, I have decided to share with you, how to add "near location" to Facebook status updates. You will see a location line like " --near Marseille, France" under Facebook status updates of people that have activated it on their Facebook profiles. Sharing your location lets you tell family and friends where you are as you’re posting, though not always accurate because some people now set fake locations.

How To Get Started

To get this done, kindly make sure you logged in to Facebook via a Computer. Not sure if this trick work on other devices for now.

STEPS

Click inside the "What is on your mind" box

Then, click the icon under the box as seen in the picture below:

Type in the name of your location in the "Where are you?" text area. While typing, you might see some suggestions. You can click on any of the suggestions if it matches your location.

You should then see the location beside the icon and also in the "What is on your mind" box.

Click on the "Post" button to update your Facebook status, so that your new location can be enabled on your profile.

Thereafter, the location will start appearing next to the timestamp of your Facebook Status updates. So, the next time you post, your general location will be added to that post. It’ll stay on for future posts until you remove it. Once removed, it’ll stay off until you add it back to your post.

"What is 2go?" This is what some of my friends keep asking me and I have decided to use this post to explain what 2go is all about. Well, 2go a social networking mobile application that allows you to connect to friends and meet new people.
