<p>I will always remember the moment I first began to forgive my father. It was early one bright Sunday morning in June and I was driving to San Jose to teach an all day make-up class in Family Therapy to a group of graduate counseling students. The day before, I had hastily rented a book on tape about &#8220;letting go&#8221; to keep me company during my four-hour round-trip commute. To my surprise, the entire book was the author&#8217;s poignant story of how she had chosen to forgive her father, who sounded like a carbon copy of my own dad.</p>
<p>As I listened to the writer describe her courageous journey toward acceptance and healing, I became acutely aware of the bitterness and pain in my heart that I had kept locked away for decades. I felt my tears begin to wash away the anger, hurt, and resentment I had carried for so long. I suddenly saw my relationship with my father in a new way-through the eyes of my Greater Self. Looking at the big picture of my life, I recognized how my dad had been my most important teacher in this lifetime: coping with his negative behavior towards me both strengthened my sense of self and deepened my level of compassion for those who are suffering. I also found my heart softening to the wounded little boy my alcoholic father hid so well from the world. Lifted by a profound sense of lightness and grace, I could feel the power of forgiveness working its magic in my very being. It wasn&#8217;t until I arrived at the university that I realized it was Father&#8217;s Day.</p>
<p>Forgiveness is our most potent medicine for self-healing. The light of forgiveness transforms everything it touches. When we forgive, we open the door to miracles in our lives. To forgive is to let go-to completely release any negative thoughts or feelings you have been holding toward your self or another. You say goodbye to hate, resentment, anger, hurt, guilt, and shame. You stop living in the land of &#8220;if only&#8221; and start accepting &#8220;what is&#8221; so you can move forward on your life&#8217;s path. Forgiveness is a powerful choice you make to be whole again.</p>
<p>It is not only in my own life that I have witnessed the power of forgiveness. In my psychotherapy practice, I have delighted in watching the blessings multiply after my clients make the courageous choice to let go.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, many people do not avail themselves of the healing power of forgiveness because of misconceptions they hold. Some common myths about forgiveness are:</p>
<p>1. The other person has to do something before I can forgive him or her.<br />
If you are waiting for another to recognize he or she has wronged you, you have placed the power to heal yourself in someone else&#8217;s hands. Take back the power to set yourself free of the past by choosing to forgive regardless of whether or not the other ever &#8220;sees the light.&#8221;</p>
<p>2. If I forgive, I am saying what the other person did was okay.<br />
Forgiveness does not send the message that the other&#8217;s bad behavior was okay. Rather, it is saying that you are not going to continue to dwell on the past and carry the heavy feelings associated with it. When we lighten our emotional load, we refuse to allow the past to torment us in the present.</p>
<p>3. I must hold positive feelings for the person I am forgiving.<br />
While forgiveness may help to transmute our pain and anger into compassion for the other, it is not necessary to replace the negative feelings you have had towards the other with positive ones. Of primary importance is your willingness to release the negative energy you have been holding towards a person or situation.</p>
<p>4. Forgiveness is something I do for the other.<br />
Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself. It takes a lot of your energy to continue to hold on to negative feelings toward another. Forgiveness releases this energy so you can apply it to more constructive and joyful pursuits.</p>
<p>5. If I forgive, I may get hurt again.<br />
You can let go of the past while holding on to what an experience has taught you. To forgive is to retain the wisdom while releasing the pain associated with the life lesson.</p>
<p>6. I only need to forgive someone once.<br />
Forgiveness is a process, so you may need to let go more than once. Should the negative feelings reappear, be gentle with yourself, and choose to release them one more time.</p>
<p>7. I need to understand why before I can forgive.<br />
Needing to understand why is a trap that can snare you. Life is full of mysteries. You may never understand the whys which underlie another&#8217;s behavior. Don&#8217;t let that prevent you from releasing the past and moving on with your life.</p>
<p>Your inner guidance is forever urging you to choose the path of healing and joy. When you activate the power of forgiveness, you release any negative hold that the past has had on you. Give yourself the gift of forgiveness, and watch your life transform as it becomes a more perfect reflection of the light that you are.</p>

<p>The power of forgiveness includes healing. When you forgive others you heal parts of yourself. Here is an article on the power of healing through forgiveness.</p>

<p>Forgiveness breaks all bounds of repression and depression. It liberates the psyche from bondage to the past.</p>
<p>In fact, I would rank forgiveness as the essence of psychotherapy.</p>
<p>As human beings all our limitations arise from our psychic wounding. This wound has been either intentional or accidental, but it drains our vitality. In fact, if it has been grievous enough, it runs our whole life, and ruins it.</p>
<p>We are creatures designed to absorb and transmit love, and when an unloving act is foisted on us, when someone or something casts a shadow on our capacity to love, we bleed.</p>
<p>War zones, jails, and insane asylums are where the wounded gather. This is where society sends its broken souls. Those who regain their capacity to love will emerge from these places of grief. Those who remain bitter will forever be incarcerated in them, whether or not they have been physically freed.</p>
<p>Those who are whole and well are dedicated to their capacity to love. They cannot kill, hurt, injure or maim another because they have not lost their capacity to see themselves as the other. Ideals do not sway them to injure others, no matter how vaulted the traditions in which those ideals are espoused. No ideal transcends their ideal to be of love and service to their brethren.</p>
<p>The cure for overcoming psychic wounding is to forgive. When we forgive, we pardon; we express mercy; and we liberate our own kindness.</p>
<p>When you forgive, you give forth your power of love to heal the image, memory, or person that distorted your self-image and gave you the false belief that you have been diminished, disempowered, and disenfranchised.</p>
<p>It is the wounded who strike out and wound others. It is the shadow of their own pain that they cast upon others. It is their unlovingness that they extend out of their crippled psyche. They become conduits for the poison that they themselves despise.</p>
<p>All forms of malice, ill-will and cruelty, euphemized in the name of some lofty ideal, come forth from those who speak in the names of righteousness; the crucifixion of Christ could not have come about except for the distorted sense of what is right by the persecutors.</p>
<p>If an act is unloving, no ideal can justify it, for to wound another is to wound ourselves. We create pathos in our wake. We spill grief before us.</p>
<p>How to forgive the unforgivable? How to release the sword of ill-will thrust into our hearts? How to break free of the resentment that has bound our tormentors these many years?</p>
<p>You do it by simply understanding that to for give is a healing for you. It is breaking the karmic bonds. It is an act of self-loving. Forgiveness heals pity, brings reconciliation to that which is broken within, and makes healing possible.</p>
<p>An act of forgiveness can be silent. In fact, it has little to do with the other person. They may or may not feel the psychic release as you drop your smoldering anger, nourished over more years than you care to remember.</p>
<p>When you forgive, you release&#8230;you release yourself. You release your attachment to pain. You release your aversion to the act done to you. And when you do this, something magical happens. You set yourself free.</p>
<p>It is never about whether the other person or event deserves your forgiveness. It is about your going free from your own web of negativity. When you forgive, you staunch the bleeding. When you forgive, you open up your heart and regain your capacity to love. And when you learn to love, your life opens up like a glorious dream. The question, ultimately, is never whether you should or should not forgive&#8230;instead the question is always this: do you deserve to be happy right now by letting it go.</p>

<p>This week we focus on the most liberating and empowering thing we can do for ourselves. That is forgiveness. Without forgiveness we are unable to live our lives to the fullest and will most likely harbor must negativity which takes away from our lives.</p>
<p>It is said that for each minute of anger you lose a minute of life. This I can believe because anger and other negative emotions cause trauma to the body in the form of stress. We have heard the statement, &#8220;Stress Kills.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you can live your life in a state of constant forgiveness you harbor only love and the body is relaxed and calm. This state adds to life. The more forgiveness the more joyous your life.</p>
<p>We all have been hurt or taken advantage of  in our lives. All experiences are meant to be learning and growing experiences. It is not what happens to us that is important but how we react or don&#8217;t react to them.</p>
<p>If we can condition ourselves to not react we do two things. First and most important we save ourselves from the stress of negativity and second we take away the satisfaction of those who are trying to get us to react, usually in a negative way.</p>
<p>Eric Fromm in his book, &#8220;The Art of Loving,&#8221; says that in order for a mother to love her child she must love all children and in order for a man to love a woman he must love all women. This is very profound, he is saying that in order to love another person we must love all people.</p>
<p>We cannot truly love another if we harbor negative feelings about that person. Jesus commanded that we forgive our enemies. This must be done if we are to live our lives in unconditional love.</p>
<p>Unconditional love is living our lives with our hearts filled with love. without any preconceived notions or expectations. Unconditional love is giving others the space to be who they are, even with their shortcomings.</p>
<p>We may not like what another is doing at times but we must respect their right to live their life as they choose. If what they are doing is more than we can stand then we should not include them in our life. But, we should not hold any emotions or thoughts of negativity against them because that is only hurting ourselves.</p>
<p>We are responsible for our life and our life only. As long as we put forth the effort to live our lives to the best of our ability and fill our space with as much love as possible we are living a good life.</p>
<p>So forgive those who have wronged you or hurt you intentionally or unintentionally. Forgive them and bless them.</p>
<p>Also remember that the most important part of forgiveness is often overlooked. That is forgiving one&#8217;s self. Get in touch with those hidden feelings of guilt and shame and forgive yourself.</p>

<p>I hope that this week as caused you to count your blessings. One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the gift of gratitude. As you go about thanking those who have added to your life, don&#8217;t forget to thank yourself.</p>
<p>Be grateful you are where you are, wherever that may be. You are where you are supposed to be and you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Remember that our experiences are for us to learn and grow from.</p>
<p>No matter how much you feel that you are lacking in your life, it could be worst. So instead of complaining, look for the lesson and move forward with love and gratitude.</p>
<p>Love and gratitude go hand in hand. When you are grateful you have love in your heart. A life without love and gratitude is no life at all.</p>
<p>If you have not done so, start a gratitude journal. Condition yourself to wake each day in gratitude and retire each night speaking words of gratitude.</p>
<p>The more gratitude in your life the more you will have to be grateful for.</p>
<p>I will end with another quote:</p>

<p>We hear many people saying that the Law of Attraction does not work. The reason it does not work for them may be their lack of gratitude.</p>
<p><strong>Gratitude &#8211; Your Key to Activating the Law of Attraction</strong> By Priya Deelchand</p>
<p>Developing an attitude of gratitude is one of the most important things that you can do to manifest more of the things that you desire into your life.</p>
<p>According to Brian Tracy, &#8220;Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.&#8221;</p>
<p>When you consciously and consistently develop the habit of expressing earnest gratitude for what you already have in your life, you will attract into your life more things, situations and circumstances to be thankful for.</p>
<p>The Law of Attraction states that you attract into your life whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to, whether wanted or unwanted. According to this powerful universal law, you are constantly sending out vibrations in the Universe. These vibrations are in the form of your thoughts, feelings and emotions and they can be either positive or negative. The events, situations and circumstances that you attract in your life will always be in perfect alignment with the vibrations that you are emitting.</p>
<p>When you are in a genuine state of gratitude, you will be resonating at a higher vibrational frequency since the vibration that you will be sending out will be one of acceptance and harmony. You will, as a result attract into your life more situations and experiences to be grateful for. Expressing heartfelt gratitude for any circumstance projects a magnetic force that attracts to you more of what you are expressing gratitude for.</p>
<p>According to Jack Canfield &#8220;Being truly grateful for what is already present in your life will automatically and effortlessly attract more good into your life. Make a conscious decision to appreciate and acknowledge all that you have already been blessed with. These emotions are of the highest vibrational frequency, and through the Law of Attraction they will attract even more to be thankful for.&#8221;</p>
<p>Be grateful for even the difficult situations in your life because very often, it is through these events that you get the best opportunities to grow. If you do not expressing gratitude for the difficult situations in your life, you will be resisting the difficult situations and this will place your focus on not wanting that situation. This resistance puts you in a lower vibrational frequency which only serves to attract to you more difficult events, conditions and circumstances into your life. If, instead you adopt a more positive attitude and you are thankful for the lessons that you are learning while facing these challenging circumstances, you will switch your vibration from negative to positive and you will attract more positive situations in your life.</p>
<p>Louise Hay said &#8220;I have noticed that the Universe loves gratitude. The more grateful you are, the more goodies you get. When I say goodies, I do not mean only material things. I mean all the people, places and experiences that make life so wonderfully worth living. You know how great you feel when your life is filled with love and joy and health and creativity, and you get the green lights and the parking places. This is how our lives are meant to be. The Universe is a generous, abundant giver, and it likes to be appreciated.&#8221;</p>
<p>Spend as many moments as you can every day being thankful for all the good that are already in your life. You all know that according to the Law of Attraction, what you focus on expands. The more we focus on the things that we already have and the more we express our gratitude, the energy of gratitude will draw more of the things we desire to us. Begin your practice of gratitude today and attract more and more abundance, joy, love, prosperity, peace and success into your life. You deserve it!</p>

<p>If there is any one thing that you might probably be lacking in your physical manifestation of things, it is probably your lack of &#8211; an attitude of gratitude. More often than not, the results fail to show up &amp; one of the major reasons is the lack of an attitude of gratitude.</p>
<p>&#8220;An attitude of gratitude will bring your mind into closer harmony with the creative energies of the universe.&#8221; &#8211; Wallace Wattles</p>
<p>Please read the following sentence very carefully.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need an aptitude, but an attitude of gratitude to reach any altitude in life!!!</p>
<p>Read it again. Keep on reading it, till the vibrations thereof resonate into your entire physical being &amp; you become one with it. Only then will you realize its real importance.</p>
<p>Before you get, you must 1st thank the universe for giving you all the gifts of life. Thank her with your deepest sincere emotions &amp; never ever, make it a chore. Thank the universe not just for the things she&#8217;s going to give you, but also for all the gifts that you have already been bestowed with, from her.</p>
<p>Be genuinely grateful for what you have now &amp; not just for things you will be having. When you are grateful for all the things in your life, you will be amazed at the physical manifestation of more of the things you are grateful for. Lock into the frequency of gratitude and all good things in life will be yours.</p>
<p>When you thank the universe as though you have already received what you want, you begin to emit a powerful vibration into the Universe. When you say that you already have it, &amp; thank the universe for it, you accelerate the process of creation even further &amp; the things that you want in life come quickly to you in ways &amp; means you cannot even imagine.</p>
<p>Let all the gifts that you already possess swell your heart with a deep feeling of gratitude &amp; when you stay in this beautiful feeling of bliss &amp; well being, you will make magic happen in life.</p>
<p>Gratitude speeds up your experiencing of what you choose because it ascertains your faith and state of Being.</p>
<p>This place of knowing is a place of intense and incredible gratitude. You are thankful of it in advance. The greatest key to creation is to be grateful even before the creation itself. Such taking for granted must be encouraged as it is surely a sign of great faith &amp; personal mastery. All the great people that ever lived, already knew in advance that their deed had been done.</p>
<p>Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotion, one can have. Inject &amp; infuse every cell with the feeling that you have already realized your goal &amp; it will soon show up in your physical dimension.</p>
<p>Remember, that gratitude cannot be used as a tool with which you manipulate &amp; fool the universe. You cannot fool the universe, as you too are an important component of it &amp; vice versa. We learned in the article on Quantum Physics that we all are &#8216;One&#8217;. So, can we lie to ourselves?</p>
<p>Your mind will always know the truth of what you think. So if you say &#8220;Thank you, Lord, for&#8230;.&#8221; &amp; at the same time you are also aware of the fact that it doesn&#8217;t exist in your current reality, you cannot expect the universe to manifest it for you.</p>
<p>One of the best ways to express ones Gratitude is to do what is called as &#8216;Tithing&#8217;. Tithing is the single most important thing you can do to GUARANTEE your Success!!! Tithing generally means giving back 10% of whatever you make to the UNIVERSE. You can have anything you want in life provided you give a relatively small share of whatever you have.</p>
<p>I call it as the DIVINE FERTILIZATION PROCESS!!! It&#8217;s called so because the number &#8216;1&#8242; represents male energy &amp; the number &#8216;0&#8242; represents female energy &amp; all creation on our planet takes place due to the fertilization of male &amp; female energy. So when you tithe 10% of whatever you make, you are impregnating this divine energy to produce whatever you desire!!!</p>
<p>The next time you are confronted with a problem, express your immediate gratitude not only for the solution, but for the problem itself. By so doing, you instantly change your perspective on it, and your attitude about it.<br />
Bless it &amp; give it your best energies and your highest thought. By doing this, you make it your friend, and not your enemy; that which supports you, rather than that which opposes you. Just accept it, don&#8217;t resist it. For what you resist, persists. Only what you accept, you can change.</p>

<p>It is apparent that many people do not know what gratitude is. If they did there would not be so many complaining. Here is one view on what gratitude is.</p>

<p>Personally, I think that many people don&#8217;t really understand what gratitude really is.</p>
<p>How many times have we heard things like &#8220;He&#8217;s not grateful for the money I gave him!&#8221; or &#8220;She&#8217;s not grateful for this or that  that I have done for them!&#8221;?</p>
<p>First of all, we have no way of knowing the gratitude that the receiver feels in these situations, but I can tell you this much, if you are making statements like the ones above, you are not giving freely or with an open heart!</p>
<p>Some people have a hard time expressing gratitude outwardly.</p>
<p>Sometimes all you will receive in return is a simple thank you when inside the recipient of your good deed is welling up and ready to burst into tears of gratitude.</p>
<p><strong>We are trained to hold our emotions in, including the ones of gratitude!<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>When you give a gift, be thankful that you can! </strong></p>
<p>When you give of yourself don&#8217;t look for anything in return.</p>
<p>Be satisfied in knowing that you have done the right thing, that your blessing has helped another and you will be blessed in return, maybe not the way you expect it, but you will be.</p>
<p>Gratitude comes from within, it is an appreciation of all that is good and welcome in our lives. Gratitude is expressed when we openly give thanks for those things.</p>
<p>When someone does something for us we are trained to say, &#8220;Thank you&#8221;, but how often do we really feel the thank you that we are giving?</p>
<p>Think back to a time when you were just so overwhelmed with something someone had done for you and you just had to blurt out a thank you.</p>
<p><strong>That feeling of thanks, of gratitude, could not be contained. </strong></p>
<p>If you were to stop and feel the thank you each time you gave it, you would be living in gratitude.</p>
<p>If you were to stop and feel how much you love and enjoy any little thing in your life, you would be living in gratitude.</p>
<p>Some people think that gratitude has to go deeper than giving thanks for the &#8220;things&#8221; in our lives and be more spiritual.</p>
<p>I say that every little thing in your life that gives you even the slightest bit of joy, every little thing that makes your day a little easier is worthy of true gratitude.</p>
<p><strong>True gratitude is spiritual and fills the heart with warmth and joy!</strong></p>
<p>When you can stop and say, &#8220;I really do love my coffee pot! It brews me a wonderful cup of coffee and I enjoy every sip! If it wasn&#8217;t for that coffee pot I may not have such a great cup of coffee!&#8221;, and truly feel the love and appreciation for the coffee pot, the coffee beverage and even the cup you are holding, to feel the joy that those things bring into your life, that my dear friends, that is feeling gratitude!</p>

<p>This week we will concentrate on the most important attitude in manifesting the life you dream of. That attitude is the &#8220;Attitude of Gratitude.&#8221; Thanksgiving is not just for one day a year, it should be a daily affair.</p>
<p>I am sure you have noticed that our charitable nature really comes to the forefront around the holidays. Why is this? I will not try to answer that, but think about it. Why can we not be just as giving the rest of the year?</p>
<p>We are told that we should live in the now. Living in the now requires gratitude. Being grateful for what we have and for who we are. If we are not grateful we are probably thinking of the lack of tomorrow or our failures of yesterday.</p>
<p>The greatest gift we can give ourselves is the gift of an Attitude of Gratitude. If we do not possess such an attitude, it can be cultivated. You can simply train yourself to see the good that is continually around you.</p>
<p>When you wake in the morning you can be grateful just because you did wake up, some people did not. No matter how bad you think things are at any particular moment it could be worst. So you can be thankful that it is not.</p>
<p>There is always someone who is worst off than you and by recognizing this and not only feeling grateful but giving those less fortunate ones a little help will go a long way towards making your life more abundant.</p>
<p>Religions talk about being grateful for what you have as a way of getting more. You may have heard that your good deeds come back to you 10 fold. The problem we sometimes face is that those good deeds may not return to us from the source of the deeds. For this reason we will sometimes not be able to see all the good that is in our lives.</p>
<p>We are told we should tithe. Tithing does not have to be to a church or in money. We can tithe money or time to any worthwhile cause. Who decides what is worthwhile? You do.</p>
<p>Make it a habit to go to bed with a heart filled with gratitude and think of all you have to be thankful for upon waking. You may have to put some energy into it at the beginning, but if you do this everyday it will soon become habit.</p>
<p>Start a gratitude journal and list 10 things you are grateful for each evening. They don&#8217;t have to be grand things, it is the little things that make a different.</p>
<p>Cultivate a grateful heart and you will be given more.</p>
<p><strong>TODAY&#8217;S TIP: </strong>Saying thank you to others not only makes them feel good but makes you feel good also. The object is to feel good.</p>

<p>I promised that today we would talk about the three levels of belief and truth. We sometimes have a habit of making ourselves believe things that make our life easier but that are not necessarily the truth.</p>
<p>We are very strange indeed. We can think that we believe something that we really don&#8217;t and we can think we don&#8217;t believe something that we really do.</p>
<p>Look around you. How many people do you see that say they believe something, but their actions say otherwise. If you search your inner self you may find that you are guilty of this.</p>
<p>This is because there are three levels of belief. The first level is in the mind or our conscience beliefs. These are the beliefs that we are aware of and when asked, we quote. These beliefs may or may not be truth and may or may not serve us. These beliefs are influenced by ego.</p>
<p>The second level of belief is in our heart. These beliefs are closer to truth and motivate us to want to do certain things that we may or may not do. Many times our ego beliefs overpower the beliefs of the heart. This may be why we sometimes can not seem to put our lives in the order we would like.</p>
<p>The saying, &#8220;follow your heart,&#8221; is the way that leads us to true happiness and fulfillment. But, as we have seen, the ego may have another agenda and will put obstacles in our path.</p>
<p>This is why it is so important to control our ego. It can be a friend or enemy, depending on whether we control it or it controls us. In the majority of people we see the ego in control and that accounts for many of the worlds ills.</p>
<p>I will say it again, the best way of gaining control over our ego is with disciplined regular meditation. If you do not meditate regularly now, start. As Jesus said, &#8220;The kingdom is within.&#8221; Go within and find your kingdom.</p>
<p>In your Kingdom you are the ruler and can decide what you want your life to be by royal decree. This may be a difficult undertaking but the reward are well worth the effort.</p>
<p>Think of how you would feel if you had everything you wanted. Wouldn&#8217;t that be a grand feeling? It is possible, you only have to make it so.</p>
<p>The third level of belief or truth is what I call Universal belief or truth. This is divine truth. This is the absolute truth that is the same for everyone. No matter how far from this truth we live our lives we are all striving to achieve this level of truth.</p>
<p>Sit quietly and think about what you believe. Feel your beliefs in the heart. If you cannot feel them in your heart you should stop and take a look at that belief. It just may be one that is holding you back and one you need to change or replace.</p>
<p><strong>TODAY&#8217;S TIP: </strong>Strive to be brutally honest with yourself. If a belief feels uncomfortable or there is doubt, don&#8217;t be afraid to admit that it may not be serving you.</p>

<p>I have often said that we can change our beliefs if the motivation is strong enough. Here is how someone else thinks on the subject.</p>
<p><strong>How To Replace Your Belief System</strong> By Michael A. Verdicchio</p>
<p>Many years ago, I heard the statement, &#8220;Replace every negative thought with two or three positive thoughts.&#8221; That is good, solid advice. Negative thoughts produce negative results. Positive thoughts produce positive results.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at this a little further as it relates to our belief systems. If someone consistently thinks of himself as a failure, then he is consistently building a failure belief system. The degree to which that belief system is reinforced will be consistently evidenced in his life.</p>
<p>No matter how hard he tries, and no matter how much he dislikes being a failure, he will continue to be a failure. All the negative thoughts of failure have finally shaped his failure belief system. He cannot just turn it off, because it is a set belief system. But the good news is, he can change it if he chooses to.</p>
<p>We were not born with our belief systems in place. We put them there. And if we put them there, we can change them. They weren&#8217;t established in two seconds, so it may take some time to replace them. How much time? It depends on how deep the belief system really is, and, how much effort we choose to exert.</p>
<p>All of our belief systems were built by thoughts, so, replacing an old belief system and building a new belief system will also require building thoughts.<br />
For example, people who are poor stay poor because they have a poverty belief system. The things that they talk about reflect a poverty mentality directly in line with their poverty belief system. They may not want to be poor. They would probably never refuse money. But until they build a new belief system, in that category of life, they will remain poor. This is the reason that so many lottery winners end up broke.</p>
<p>Someone once said that if you took all the money in the world and divided it up equally among all the people, it would eventually end up right back where it is today. Why? A poverty mind will attract poverty and a wealthy mind will attract wealth.</p>
<p>So, if there is a belief system in your life that you do not want, you can decide to change it. You do that by thinking one thought at a time, consistently, over and over. The big key is to replace any and all negative thoughts related to the old belief system with the new positive thoughts.</p>
<p>In addition to your thoughts, take note of what comes out of your mouth. What you say is a good indication of your belief system. Have you ever noticed what people with a poverty belief system talk about? They talk about lack, time and time and time again.</p>
<p>So take note of what&#8217;s coming out of your mouth. For example, replace phrases like, &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221; with, &#8220;I will.&#8221; &#8220;It won&#8217;t ever happen&#8221;, with, &#8220;It is going to happen.&#8221; &#8220;Nothing ever goes right for me&#8221;, with, &#8220;Everything is going to start going right for me.&#8221; Get the point? And trust me; it will seem really awkward when you first begin this process. Do you know why? These new positive thoughts are colliding head on with your current belief system, which in turn is yelling back, &#8220;Oh, no way. That&#8217;s not how it is.&#8221;</p>
<p>Just stay aggressive with your new positive thoughts. Say them to yourself silently, and say them to yourself out loud. Write them down and read them often. Keep bombarding your mind with the new positive thoughts, stating your new life direction.</p>
<p>Stay consistent and you will replace your belief system.</p>
<p>God designed our minds to have belief systems. He also gave us free will, to decide and to choose those belief systems.</p>
<p>Replace your unwanted belief system with a new one by replacing the thoughts in your mind and you will build a new positive belief system.</p>
