Part of my services is to create a color board for any room or project. I call this “Romance Color Board” since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and the colors just fit. The chairs are the focal point for the color and design. These chairs would look fantastic in a living room with a fireplace.

Just picture a quaint cozy cottage located by a lake or pond. The room will have three walls painted in Champagne and the wall with a fireplace is painted Lusty Red.

Accessories chosen are fabrics with floral and solid colors carrying the Charming Pink, Lusty Red and Champagne throughout. As you can see in the chair fabric there is a touch of what I’m going to call, “Enchanting Green”. This is the pop needed in the room, which was added by the lovely chandelier and the knob on the antique door coffee table made by moi.

The paint colors are from the Sherwin Williams site and couldn’t have married them together any better. These vintage furniture chairs can be found on www.Chairish.com and really describes my style in reupholstering and design.

Re-purposed Fence Cabinet

This cabinet was made out of some old fencing I was able to pick up for free! Basically I cut the wood into sized pieces with a circular saw and then screwed them together. The frame is made from treated tree posts and then screwed together as well.

The front screen door is made from a wooden trellis and then painted with left over paint from Home Depot (mint green). I stapled the screen onto the frame of the trellis.

One of the slats of wood has a knot-hole that I made sure was placed in the back of the cabinet so you could plug in a light or string light to add character.

Topless Table

Ever wonder what to do with a topless table? Discovered a coffee table at a garage sale for $5! I was excited at first, but then realized that the glass top was missing. Stood there for a few seconds thinking ok, maybe I should bag it, then a spark flared up inside me and said, NO! don't leave this table, you will find a way to make it work....here are the "before" pictures of the poor topless table. If you look closely, you can see the sticker that has how much it is ($5).

Now, here are the "after" pictures of the no longer "topless" table...

ASC paint, Paris Gray, was used for the metal casings of the table, and my own chalk paint in black was used for the legs. The top of the table is made out of wood, which was cut with a miter saw, then painted with the Paris Gray. Once dried, I then used a wet sea sponge and barely dipped it into the black paint. I spread the sponge over the top in a horizontal direction. Once dried, then I stenciled the lettering and flower onto the no longer "topless" table.

Window Table

I bought a ottoman at an estate sale last summer and it's been sitting in my "to do" pile up until this Spring. I decided to take the cushion off, paint the frame and then place a window on top to create a little garden table.

Tell me what you think? It's a really easy project and was a lot of fun. I almost did not place it in my shop because I really fell in love with it. Well, off to more garage sales for treasures to create!

Yellow Vintage Desk

I discovered this cute little desk at the Human Habitat store about a month ago. Because of my love for the color yellow, the decision was made to use ASC paint (Aries) along with her soft wax. What do you think about the color used on this project? Here are the before and after photos...

Beveled Dresser

Here is a dresser that I discovered at a garage sale last summer. It was pushed up against the wall of their garage in the back and had a NFS sign on it. I couldn't resist asking if they would sell it to me. Their first answer was no, and then once the wife walked back into their home, her husband took my number so he could try and persuade her to sell it to me later. Sure enough, the next day I received a phone call and they said I could go back and pick it up! I was so excited! As you can see the intricate details, could not wait to get my paint brush going on this baby... ASC paint was used along with her soft wax for protection. Colors: Aubusson Blue/Versailles (love these two together).

Burlap Pillows

I was perusing through my library of fabrics and came across some nice pieces to make into pillows. To fit with the "Vintage" theme, I incorporated some burlap and buttons to finish off my pieces. First I cut the fabric into the size pillow desired, sewed the burlap onto the top, stamped a design of choice, stuffed with poly filling (located at any fabric store) sewed up last side of stitching and then hand-stitched the buttons on the corner of the burlap.

With this pillow, I sewed two pieces of fabric together, a base fabric with any pattern and the black burlap since the burlap is see-through and so the stuffing would not peek through the small squares of the burlap fabric.
