   SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2011 - In an exciting, tense and professional event on Thursday 5th May the Young Enterprise company ‘Estupendo’ from Corfe Hills School were named as Dorset company of the year and will go on to represent the County at the regional final.
9. What I learnt in the Cold War
   MONDAY, MAY 23, 2011 - For those of you that were born in the 80s there was a time before Russian oligarchs owned Premiership football clubs. A time when the East and the West were involved in an ideological nuclear standoff, and a 16 year old from Southbourne joined the Royal Air Force to work on Tornado bombers.
10. Excitement on and off the field at Sandbanks Beach Polo
    SUNDAY, JULY 10, 2011 - The 4th British Beach Polo Championships were held at Sandbanks this weekend (8th & 9th July 2011) with it’s usual mix of excitement both on and off the Polo field.

Steve Cook grew up with vinyl. The music of The Who, The Jam and The Clash – the late 70′s was a great time for kids who loved rock guitars.

A guitarist in a number of bands during the 90′s, Steve is now the MD of Seeker and as a photographer he gets to capture some of his heroes in the images that he loved so much growing up, devouring the record covers.

When I came up with the Seeker brand I’ve got to admit that a couple of my personal heroes played a part in the name.

Seeker comes from a song by The Who – “The Seeker”, a band that I’ve loved since my youth. The brand concept though drew on one of my business heroes – Sir Richard Branson.

I wanted a brand that I could build across different industries, trading on the brand loyalty built up in one area to help in the launch of a new venture.

It’s a concept that’s worked, people recognise the brand and the values that we have built up over the years.

So to say thank you to these two influences on the Seeker brand here’s a couple of videos for you, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Cook joined the Cherries on an emergency one month loan from Brighton in October and has been a big hit at the Seward Stadium, helping the Cherries to two wins in his first two games.

Cook is approaching the end of his loan spell but his impressive form could see him extend his stay at the club, a move that would be fully supported by his sponsor.

The businessman said, “At Seeker we’ve always placed great value on sponsorship, whether it’s a charity event, the arts or school or professional sports.

“In the past we’ve been involved with the Poole Pirates, Wimborne Town, AFC Bournemouth and even sponsored Winchelsea Special School’s team kit.

“Sponsoring Steve was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I think he has settled in very well and shown why he was so highly rated at Brighton, it would be great if his stay at the Seward Stadium was extended.”

Cherries defender Cook added, “I’ve really enjoyed my time with AFC Bournemouth and have been impressed with what I’ve seen. I believe the club should be pushing for the Championship, and they’re heading in the right direction on and off the pitch.

“I appreciate being sponsored and was a bit surprised it happened because I’m only here a short term deal. It’s gestures like these that help to make players feel welcome and settled, so I need thank Steve for that.”
