The Hills 3.5 Live Finale!

Read Below as Christine from our Production Team in LA takes us through her personal experience on the red carpet for The Hills 3.5 Live Finale

So, what did you do Monday night? I was burdened with the terrible task of putting on a semi-fancy dress, fitted blazer & covering “The Hills” 3.5 Live Finale in Beverly Hills. I know, I know,…it’s a tough job, but someone had to do it! The night had it’s ups and downs, but all in all it was a success. The journey to the tippy-top of Benedict Canyon to get to the ginormous mansion where the party was being held was a long and harrowing experience, but the views were spectacular! Rumor has it that the driveway up to the mansion alone cost 20 million dollars!

The hot topics on the red carpet were how unusually cold it was for a May night in typically sunny southern California, will Heidi and Spencer show up (they didn’t) and, of course, who are you wearing? All of the women of “The Hills” looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Like a hit TV show, fashion sense, oodles of money and flawless skin just wasn’t enough.

There’s good reality TV and then there’s not so good reality TV. The 2007 writer’s strike has really forced a lot of us to ingest a whole lot of bad reality TV and I for one am elated at the fact that real TV is back on the small screen!

I was watching the newest story plots of the ‘Desperate Housewives’ and I could not help but notice that other than Eva Longoria-Parker (she’s only 33), all the other main characters were in their 40s and even 50s (Dana Delany just turned 52) and not only were these women looking incredible, but they were all sporting long hair.

There is a belief by some stylist that women past a certain age should cut their hair short. Now I will say that some women look sensational with short hair ... let’s think of Halle Berry as a great example, but for most women such short hair is simply not an option.

If you’ve ever been to Italy, you will quickly notice how Italian women keep their hair long as they age.

What really got me on this train of thought was Nicolette’s Sheridan’s character: Edie. During last Sunday’s episode we saw her with a super sleek ponytail and with her hair down and Nicolette looked simply divine. Just like Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman (given that Lynette is now recovering from cancer and wearing a long haired wig) and newcomer Dana Daleny (who plays Katherine Mayfair), Nicolette is sporting hair pass her shoulders and she looks sexy.

Hilary Duff was known for her squeaky clean image on the Disney Channel, but recently the young starlet has broken out of the teenybopper realm and has made quite a transformation. Unlike many other celebrities her age, Hilary has made this transformation into a beautiful young lady without causing havoc.

I have become quite jealous of her handbag collection, which has ranged from Chanel to Louis Vuitton to Rebecca Minkoff. But it is the bag Hilary has recently been spotted carrying that I enjoy seeing on her most, the Prada Fairies Bag. Prada handbags needed a boost for spring 2008 and a re-vamped color bold look is what they delivered. The Prada Fairies Bag has been the buzz of the handbag-loving world, with waitlists that are nearly impossible to get a spot on and hype that is hard to miss.

There has also been talk of the bag having problems with the ink bleeding, but that did not seem to keep Hilary Duff from carrying one of the most coveted bags of the season.
