I seriously don't know what side I'm on but I don't hate ALL fanservice. We interpret fanservice as ecchi. It's become so used in the anime industry, it's a stereotype now but does FAN service really mean ECCHI? I've always thought of it as a personal service the anime is giving to it's viewers which the viewers would like to see. Whether it's action, character development, comedy, ecchi, sports or suspension. Different people have different tastes for what 'service' they'd like from a show. And most likely the stuff I'm saying is totally wrong or doesn't make sense :P

Circle narrative is kinda hard to explain but I can give you an example. In BRS OVA, at the end Mato is confronted by Black Rock who asks her if she wants to save Yomi. Of course, she says yes and that explains all the searching and confront and fighting Black Rock did throughout the OVA with Dead Master because Mato has decided to become Black Rock and find her friend. In other words, the 'continuation' in the OVA was shown to us throughout the OVA itself. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I've seen that some people liked it, and I tried thinking about it and maybe moving onto the 2nd episode before I say anything, but my honest first impression was that it was boring XD It was a painful battle but for you I can tough it out….!

I seriously thought the whole Black Rock Shooter-world / real-world metaphor was just supposed to be a straight-on comparison; I didn't think that people would actually start analyzing such a shallow metaphor! I mean, at least in the OVA, the actions weren't quite as predictable, whereas in this, the show's just shouting: "HEY GUYS TOMATO IS HURT BECAUSE KAGARI TEASED HER. SHE'S HURT JUST LIKE BLACK ROCK SHOOTER IS HURT BECAUSE SHE'S BEING SLICED APART BY A GIANT SCORPION" at us. Yeah, uh, what?

Anyways, I'm not being caustic towards you, but to the show itself. I'm actually looking forward to your posts, since every other post out there is saying the same things over and over. On a side note, the great argument seems to be between the pretentious hipster-fags who like action and hate fanservice (even though action is fanservice) and the emotional shoujo-ai-fangirls who like yuri and hate fanservice (even though such blatant yuri is fanservice). Are you part of that great debate, too? It seems to be that everybody's either in one camp or the other, and nobody can actually just accept the fanservice nor reject all the fanservice. Kinda like Highschool of the Dead, heh.

P.S. What's a circle narrative? I know what a circle post is because I invented the term myself even though nobody uses the term nor knows that I invented it, and it's a post that goes on and on forever saying the same points over and over again without variation repeatedly and repeatedly over and over – sort of like my comment. But what's a circle narrative?
