As most of you are probably aware I am making a documentary for my final year film project. The topic for said doc is COSPLAY!!!!!!!!

Anyway I am in the final 20 days of my funding drive and so once again I am putting out a small beg to you guys for help raise some funding so I can get myself and my crew/cast to the events so I can make this the best it can be.

Hello there everyone I just wanna quickly apologize for my inactivity the past few weeks. I recently started my final semester at Uni and it’s been far more hectic than I ever could have imagined. Most of my spare time is spent planning film shoots for documentary. Click the link in the side bar if you want some more info on that.

Recently however I’ve been wondering what to do with the site, in terms of content since I can’t post regularly enough to compete with the other sites. I am still looking for writers though so if you’ve been looking for a platform to blog about anime BUT son’t wanna pay for hosting then drop me a line in the comments or to my email which is asch.otakucomplex[@]gmail.com

In the mean time though here’s a sweet picture I picked up recently enjoy and see you around when I get some posting ideas and/or time.

The anime follows Harubaru Hinode and his childhood friend and rival Raichi Kuronashi as they battle with their BakuTech, which are superior to normal Bakugan due to special metal parts. Harubaru prefers his Flare Dragaon, while Raichi’s favorite is Destroy Munikis.

BakuTech! Bakugan has been serialized in Monthly Corocoro Comic since September 2010 and has three tankobon volumes so far. It’s unclear if this will be presented as a spin-off or continuation of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, the fourth season of which aired in North America last year. No word yet on broadcast info or staff for BakuTech! Bakugan.

Bessatsu Shonen Magazine reports that Kumeta Koji’s manga “Joshiraku” was announced to get an anime adaptation.

Synopsis:

A group of girls discus random things and usually reaches an unusual or humorous conclusion that’s far from the initial discussion topic.

2011 has been a good year for us, a nice new host, a nice new theme and a nice new name but with Uni deadlines and workload vastly increasing I just simply don’t have time to update the site as often as I really want to, so I am looking for some new writers. If you enjoy writing and think you would make a good addition to the team, then continue reading to see what I’m looking for:

• Keeping up with the latest news on your interests (e.g. JPOP, Cosplay, Anime/Manga, Idols, Tokusatsu etc) is part of your average day

If the few things above describe you well, then you could make a good writer for this site. As a writer, you would have to few posts on a specific aspect (or two) of Japanese popular culture.

Corpse Party is a horror adventure game developed by Team GrisGris which is now available on PSN. It has been published by Xseed Games in North America and Europe. Upon discovering Corpse Party on PSN I felt intrigued to look more into what it entails, the game is a visual novel and though appearing to look cute with it’s SNES-like graphics, it is said to be unsettling and eerie.

The game’s plot features a group of friends in their school at night telling ghost stories, wanting to remember that night together they create a charm and happen to perform a ritual, this in turn causes disasterous effects as the group becomes seperated after awaking in Heavenly Host Elementary School. The game plays out as a survival horror and the characters will come across puzzles and clues which you have to solve and discover – finding corpses and the terrible ways that they have been murdered and why. The game features multiple endings.

I have purchased the game and  I shall make a short spoiler free review of how I find the visuals, the music and the playability; and whether it comes to my expectations.  (:

Pan Tachibana’s light novel with illustrations by Yoshiaki Katsurai, Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai!(roughly “So I can’t be dirty!“), is to be animated.  The animation will be produced by feel.

Synopsis:

Ryosuke is the top sleezeball in school, but he makes a contract with the beautiful death goddess Lisala (Risala? Lisara? Take your pick for the moment…) in which she lives with him, but he can’t be his normal pervy self around any girls. Unfortunately, this arrangement is not quite what he had in mind…

According to Jump Square magazine, a new manga series of Rurouni Kenshin was announced to start in the magazine from May 4th 2012. Details of the manga will be revealed in the later issues.

Murata Mayu’s manga “Nagareboshi Lens” will be getting an anime adaptation. It will be shown at a live event of Ribbon Magazine next spring.

At the event, an anime of Kasumi Yuko’s manga “Marimo no Hana ~Sakyo Butoha Shogakusei Densetsu~” will be shown as well.
