The overall scores were very good, but we always make sure that we ask how we could have done things better. The survey results are posted on the Testimonials & Feedback page. Of around 60 satisfaction surveys returned so far, we've got a 100% record, will all tenants saying they were either "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with our performance.

A good day out!

H&P staff and representatives from Selby District Council organised a tenants choice event at Drax Sports and Social Club, near Goole. The event gave the opportunity for residents to enjoy a good buffet lunch, find out more about the works to be carried out on their homes, and decide on choices of tiles, flooring, working tops and ironmongery. Hobson & Porter's Minor Works Director Dave Blades and Site Manager Roger Ward were joined by our resident liaison and safety staff at the full day event. To make sure that as many residents could attend at a convenient time H&P laid on a full day shuttle service. By getting all the choices agreed as early as possible this helps H&P to carry out the works more efficiently, which saves time and money and reduces disruption for residents.

Selby Decent Homes PH3

Phase 3 Decent Homes works to 123 homes in villages of Barlow, Burn, Carlton, Camblesforth, Cliffe Eggborough,Hensall, Hemmingbrough, Long Drax, and Newland including kitchens, bathrooms & doors, central heating to 35 units, with roofing works, facias and gutters to selected properties

Phase 2 update 12.09.08

Following a successful pilot scheme in the Whitley, Balne and Womersley areas, Hobson & Porter is commencing a second phase of work on the Decent Homes Programme for Selby District Council.
This will involve works to around 70 properties in Beal, Birkin, Kellington and Fairburn.

Hobson & Porter Minor Works Division has been chosen by Selby District Council in North Yorkshire to carry out Decent Homes housing improvements to local homes.

The three year contract will involve installing new kitchens and bathrooms to properties, as well as carrying out re-roofing and rewiring work and installing new central heating systems. A Selby District Council spokesperson said "we have used a very innovative solution to get suitable contractors. We have worked with Leeds City Council to use what is called a framework agreement they have with a number of contractors for this work. Five of the companies who had done the required modernisation work in Leeds were interested in also working in Selby. We selected Hobson & Porter and Lovell Partnerships as the best"

In the first tranche of work, Hobson & Porter will refurbish 180 homes in the Selby area between April and June 2008.

Hobson & Porter has a strong track record of delivering housing refurbishment schemes throughout Yorkshire, and we are proud to be working with Selby District Council and helping to improve the quality of life for residents in the area" said Hobson & Porter Managing Director Dave Watson.
Chair of Selby District Council's Social Board Cllr Gillian Ivey added: "One of the key priorities for Selby District Council this year is to ensure tenants can enjoy the best quality homes within the resources we have available. We feel it is vitally important to be able to offer tenants warm, safe and modern homes. The partnership with Hobson & Porter and our other contractors will help us to deliver on this commitment."
