Actress Selena Gomez wishes she could "lash out" without worrying about how her fans would react.

2010-06-03T02:16:00.001-07:00

Selena Gomez wants to be able to "lash out" without upsetting her fans.

The 17-year-old actress admits she would love to be able to get angry and reveal her true feelings about situations that annoy her, but is afraid of saying something which will cause her young admirers to be disappointed in her.

She said: "I always ask myself, 'Ok, what would my fans think of me if I made this decision to lash out or say something rude?' I would never, ever want them to be disappointed in me, because they are the reason I'm here. So I'm honestly just thankful that they've made me think about my decisions more. Because I'm a kid, I'm a teenager, so if something makes me mad, I wanna be like, 'That p***ed me off', or 'I don't like that.' "

Although she has worked with a number of Hollywood's biggest stars since she rose to fame, Selena is still not used to people being interested I her love life.

She said to You magazine: "My ideal would be not to be known for who I'm dating, because eventually that's all you will be known for. It's hard, because people are curious about who's in my life, but I want to be known for my work. And I never want to view myself as any different or any better than anyone else. If I wanna go eat at a little restaurant that isn't fancy, I'll do it. If I wanna go out without make-up and not care what I look like, I will."

Selena Gomez: I Don’t Want to be Known for Who I Date

2010-05-31T23:38:00.003-07:00

Selena Gomez has a little fun during her photo shoot for London’s Daily Mail news.
The 17-year-old actress dishes on her love for her parents, being linked to almost every teen actor right now and Judy Garland. Check it:
On Mandy and Brian being real parents: “I consult them about everything I do, especially because my mom is my manager. She’s someone who loves me and wants the best for me. So even though I’m living this life and have been given such wonderful opportunities, I still have my parents with me to tell me ‘no.’”

On her love for Judy Garland: “Judy was the whole reason I became a performer. I started to collect her records and the biographies written about her, and I so wish I had met her.”

On dating in Hollywood: “My ideal would be to not be known for who I’m dating, because eventually that’s all you will be known for. It’s hard, because people are curious about who’s in my life, but I want to be known for my work. And I never want to view myself as any different or any better than anyone else. If I wanna go eat at a little restaurant that isn’t fancy, I’ll do it. If I wanna go without make-up and not care what I look like, I will.”

“I love her.” Selena said of Demi “I completely love her to death, and her whole family of course. I will always talk extremely highly of her, and always have. I’m a huge fan of everything she does.”

“But, I think that right now I’m going through a phase in my life where I’m just trying to figure out where I want to be, and where I want to go. I think that there’s obviously things that happen and things that go on in your life that you have to handle and deal with. But I love her, and I always have, and I always will. I’m so team Jemi!”

Selena Gomez Vs. Dakota Fanning For the Role In ''The Seven Rays''

2010-05-27T03:52:00.000-07:00

Selena Gomez, 17 and Dakota Fanning, 16 are both being considered for the lead role in the upcoming movie based on thenovel The Seven Rays. The novel's author, Jessica Bendinger, admits she can see both both young starlets, as well as

Taylor Swift, playing the role. In an interview with IESB.net the first time author said, "I love the idea of someone doing a successful hair or eye color change that really works. I find that fascinating. May the best woman win the part.”
The Seven Rays follows 17 year-old Beth Michaels who uncovers elements of the supernatural on her journey of self discovery after realizing the woman she thought was her mother has been lying the whole time.

Dakota Fanning is the most experienced movie actress of the three mentioned. Just in the last year, the sixteen year old starred in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Runaways, and the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse along with
several other projects. Selena Gomez is one of The Disney Channel's hottest young stars. The seventeen year old is the
star of Wizards of Waverly Place and has appeared in numerous movies including the upcoming Ramona and Beezus (July 2010). The actress and recording artist has also landed a role in Monte Carlo which hasn't started production yet.
Taylor Swift is best known as a country superstar but has appeared in a hand full of movies including a small role in this year's Hollywood-who's-who, Valentine's Day.

Hope Selena Gets the Role !!
