Santa Parade of Lights - coming back this year!

We are happy to announce the parade will be taking place this year on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 7:00 pm. Selkirk Biz will be transitioning this event to a new community group this year. Hello Parade Fans! New route & other information for 2022 Parade starts at 10:00 am Spectator Information: * please respect all barricades & parade volunteers - they are there as part of our permit & to keep everyone safe * this is a fun community family event - zero tolerance for any unacceptable behaviour. Please treat everyone around you with respect, dignity & courtesy. This includes everyone's personal decisions to practice COVID-19 safety measures. * please remain at the boulevards or behind barricades during the parade - stay off the parade route streets for your safety & to help give a clear path for the floats *Parade participants can only handout goodies to the curb or barricade - no throwing of candy is permitted. *no parking on the parade route between 9:00 until the parade is over - this will be enforced by the authorities. Our participants need a clear safe path.

Hello Parade Fans! After some anxious moments, our parade permit has been approved! The 2022 Fair Parade is back on! There might be enough time left to host the parade after all! We are asking our parade participants to rally their teams together in hopes they can get their floats ready in time! Our last fair parade was held in July 2019 and we are excited to be able to bring it back on Saturday, July 16, 2022 starting at 10:00 am. There have been some changes since 2019 so please check back here for all the details! We need your support more than ever – today & for future parades We know our community loves this event but we also need your help in order to do it. Volunteers are the lifeblood of any big community event. Without them there is no parade so please contact us to find out how you can help. We do not have enough yet but are hopeful that this will be resolved. Santa Parade of Lights – Cancellation NoticeSelkirk Biz announces that the 15th Annual Santa Parade of Lights on November 19th, 2021 will not be proceeding as planned. In light of the ongoing public health concerns, in addition to challenges working out the logistics to bring the community a safe event, our executive decided the best option right now is to do our part in keeping the business community & the public safe. We hope in the coming year, a safe format will be worked out and the parade will be back next November.Even though the parade will not be happening, our partners at Holiday Alley are still making plans for November 19-30. Holiday Alley is moving forward on bringing you creative and safe activities this year! We hope you join them in celebrating our community this holiday season.
