Winter WonderLand!

Well , when you look at the pictures, you might agree....it's a Snowy paradise...Stowe ,Vermont is one place famous for winter sports of all kinds as well as for it's natural beauty at this time of the year.....snow clad mountains , trees , houses and temperatures dipping as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit....Life still goes on their beautifully ....This Christmas was all white for us as went to Stowe ....in spite of the biting cold and snow showers , activities didn't stop ....We went ski ( well! Not me ...the rest in the group tried their hand.....I am a spoil sport as far as sports are concerned...and by the way you need somebody to click as well :) ) , horse sledging, and took a tour of the famous Famous Ben and Jerry Ice cream Factory....

Collecting original art from greats and amateurs alike has been a dream for me ....though an expensive dream :).. I still nurture it ....I was recently browsing through blogs and one of them ( an Indian summer) had a very interesting post about the same, it talked about an online sale of original Indian art by some very renowned artists. Though the website India Art Collective is selling originalsby many artists, I just couldn't take my eyes off from one of my favorites of all time, "Shri Jamini Roy". You can read more about him here.

These paintings remind me of my growing up days when I was introduced to the works of some of the greatest artists , painters , poets and musicians , slowly but steadily by my Dearest GP ( Grand Pa) ...Here's a Dekko (take a look) for you ...also readers I would definitely be all ears if you tell me ..who is your favorite artist and which of their work you admire most ....wouldn't that be an interesting discussion...

The one above is a sure favorite of mine , it's straight out of Ramayan, and in most probabilities would be my next subject when I will have the time to hold brush ...

A rainy Wednesday, work done , nothing substantial in hand to look forward to, and top of it no Internet connection to browse, discover, to do something or simply kill time....Well! Sitting in a room with a laptop,with no Internet connection since morning ..I had to actually think of options to engage myself...and so after a long long time I rediscovered my old friend "the paint brush"....and created some instant artwork, I guess good for a kids room may be ...what say ?? like it ..:) I actually even named all of them as I painted :)....Well! what else can you expect from a design enthusiast...

I went to Udaipur some 20 years back, but it still feels like yesterday....I am not sure If I told you before,...but I am in love with Rajasthan...I am sure so many of you would agree....it's such a treasure box , where you find just never ending jewels ....I saw these pictures on my Facebook page by a friend who is an avid traveler and a very good photographer, ...picked it up from there to add to my collection...

A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. For most of us that clear eyed vision is dimmed or lost before we reach adulthood. Oh! If only we could have that sense of wonder last us throughout our lifetime!!
To keep alive that inborn sense of wonder, it is not half so important to know as to feel. Once the emotions have been aroused—a sense of the beautiful, the excitement of the unknown, a feeling of sympathy or admiration—then the fading vision would be revived.
Where ever you are ,you can still look up at the sky—at the dawn and twilight beauties,the moving clouds ,its stars by night.You can listen to the wind, feel the rain on your face.
Senses other than sight can prove avenues of delight and discovery. Savour the smell of low tide combined of many odours of sea weeds and fish. Hearing requires more conscious cultivation. Try to hear the bell like phrases of a wood thrush singing in your backyard every spring. Listen to the voices of the earth—the majestic voice of the thunder, the rain,the sound of surf.
What is the value of this sense of wonder? Is it just to pass the time? I am sure there is something lasting , much deeper and significant. Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of it. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night and spring after winter
