Create A Huge File

2012-02-21T18:26:00.000+05:30

You can create a file of any size using nothing more than what's supplied with Windows.

Start by converting the desired file size into hexadecimal notation. You can use the Windows Calculator in Scientific mode do to this. Suppose you want a file of 1 million bytes. Enter 1000000 in the calculator and click on the Hex option to convert it (1 million in hex is F4240.) Pad the result with zeroes at the left until the file size reaches eight digits—000F4240.

Now open a command prompt window. In Windows 95, 98, or Me, you can do this by entering COMMAND in the Start menu's Run dialog; in Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP enter CMD instead. Enter the command DEBUG BIGFILE.DAT and ignore the File not found message. Type RCX and press Enter. Debug will display a colon prompt. Enter the last four digits of the hexadecimal number you calculated (4240, in our example). Type RBX and press Enter, then enter the first four digits of the hexadecimal size (000F, in our example). Enter W for Write and Q for Quit. You've just created a 1-million-byte file using Debug. Of course you can create a file of any desired size using the same technique.

Nokia To Release Windows 8 Tablet By June 2012

2011-11-29T09:09:00.000+05:30

In addition hinted that there might be a new top of the range of Windows Phone with Nokia,Nokia French leader told the French newspaper Les Echos that the company is a tablet that is running Windows 8.He stated that the tablet would have appeared in June 2012, the approximate date of publication of the next generation of Windows operating system.
It ’sure that the tablet will run on an ARM chipset. Our commitment is to Qualcomm than any other silicon manufacturers. Nokia also used ST-Ericsson and Broadcom in the past, but do not have a license of Windows 8 for ARM at the time of writing.
Nokia has not had much success selling Windows devices in the past. We remember his attempt at the wave of netbooks to drive again in 2009 with the Booklet 3G, an expensivepiece of kit, which ended up being a disappointment, at least for us.
It was essentially a netbook with an Intel processor and Windows operating system, but about twice the price of the competition, went to prove that Nokia is not Apple.
This time, however, Nokia would have given her strength and the strategic alliance withMicrosoft as first to market with a starting Windows 8

Just a Story Abt Crazy Indian-->>

2010-08-19T23:03:00.000+05:30

An Indian and an American are seated next to each other on a flight from Los Angeles to New York. The American asks if he would
like to play a fun-game.

The Indian, tired, just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and
rolls over to the window to catch a few winks.

The American persists and explains that the game is easy
and a lot of fun.

He says, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5, and vice versa."

Again, the Indian declines and tries to get some sleep.

The American, now worked up, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I'll pay you $500."

This gets the Indian's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment, agrees to the game.

The American asks the first question, "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"

The Indian doesn't say a word, reaches into his wallet, pulls out a $5 bill and hands it to the American.

"Okay," says the American, "Your turn."

So the Indian asks, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?"

The American thinks about it. No answer.

Puzzled, he takes out his laptop computer and searches
all his references. No answer!

He taps into the air-phone with his modem and searches
the Internet and the Library of Congress. No answer.

Frustrated, he sends e-mails to all his friends and
co-workers.

Checks the input. All to no avail!

Finally, a long time later, he wakes the Indian and hands him $500.

The Indian thanks him and turns back to get his sleep.

The American, more than a little miffed, stirs the Indian and asks,

"Well, what's the answer?"

Without a word, the Indian reaches into his purse, hands the American $5,

and goes back to sleep!

Some Tips To Keep Your System Efficient

2010-08-01T17:28:00.000+05:30

Wallpapers:They slow your whole system down, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead!

Drivers: Update your hardware drivers as frequently as possible. New drivers tend to increase system speed especially in the case of graphics cards, their drivers are updated by the manufacturer very frequently!

Minimizing: If you want to use several programs at the same time then minimize those you are not using. This helps reduce the overload on RAM.

Boot Faster: The 'starting Windows 98/XP' message on startup can delay your booting for a couple of seconds. To get rid of this message go to c:\ and find the file Msdos.sys. Remove the Read-Only option. Next, open it in Notepad or any other text editor. Finally, go to the text 'Options' within the file and make the following changes: Add BootDelay=0. To make your booting even faster, set add Logo=0 to remove the Windows logo at startup.

Restart only Windows: When restarting your PC, hold down Shift to only restart Windows rather than the whole system which will only take a fraction of the time.

Refresh the Taskbar without restarting: If you in some way change the taskbar, either in Regedit or elsewhere, you can refresh the task bar without restarting. Hold down Ctrl Alt Del, and double click on Explorer. Say Yes to close Explorer, but no to closing Windows. This will refresh the Taskbar and system tray.

RegClean: A simple but effective piece of software this is. You can download it for free from Microsoft's web site. It is also available on many magazine cover disks. Reg Clean takes about a minute to check the registry. Then it asks whether you want to clean out redundant or orphan file. This usually helps the computer to get rid of files that have been left behind by uninstalled programs.

Disk Defrag: It is advisable to run Defrag under Windows 95 once a month or when you add/remove programs. However, under Windows 98, you can run it every week if you want because it has a new engine, which means that the more you run it, the faster your computer will get. What happens is that your programs are placed on your hard disk in a way so that the ones you use most often are easier for the hard disk to find and run. Make sure that the 'make my programs run faster' is ticked in the 'Settings' window in Defrag.

End of Chandrayaan – India’s First Lunar Mission is Over-

2010-06-01T16:30:00.000+05:30

Chandrayaan - 1

India’s first ambitious lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 lost its contact with ISRO on Saturday August 29, 2009 after ten months of its launch. According to ISRO officials this mission is over now, and it has completed 90-95% of the technical work, it was intended to do.
Chandrayaan 1: Launch and Achievements
Chandrayaan 1 was launched on October 22, 2008 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota by PSLV-C11. It completed 312 days in orbit and making 3400 orbits around the moon. It was equipped with sophisticated sensors such as terrain mapping camera, hyper-spectral imager and moon mineralogy mapper, meeting most of the scientific objectives of the mission.
Chandrayaan 1 sent nearly 70,000 amazing images of surface of moon which includes mountains and craters especially at moon’s polar region. It also collected critical information about chemical and mineral content of moon.
Madhavan Nair, the ISRO chief admitted that Mission Chandrayaan has come to an end, although it is a difficult situation.
He says:

“At the moment, we have suspended the mission. Calling it off would depend on what has failed. We are trying to analyze what has gone wrong and we will take a look at it tomorrow.”

Problems with Chandrayaan 1:
Scientists are still analyzing the reasons of this unexpected problem that came with Chandrayaan, but it may be caused due to the malfunctioning of star sensor that determines the orientation of spacecraft. This sensor started created problems four month back before this mission ended. Also one of the bus management units failed. There was also an overheating problem necessitating the deactivation of some of the 11 payloads.

Apple is making a handsome profit on its new phone

Apple has reportedly the world's strongest brand image, yet it also has a reputation for being pricey and marking up its products. Many wonder if such a reputation is deserved, or just rhetoric from opinionated tech observers. Now that the iPhone bill of materials (BOM) for the iPhone 3G S has been divined thanks to an iSuppli tear down, readers can judge for themselves whether Apple is marking up the iPhone 3G S.

1. Sky Pods - Part of Futuristic Transport System

The sky pods are part of a new transport system dubbed SkyTran. These pods use magnets to be able to levitate their rails. When you enter the pod, you only need to type the location you wish to visit. Almost everything is done by the computer. A SkyPod travels at 150mph and is able to carry up to 3 passengers. The invention could reduce traffic jam, it's inexpensive and environmentally-friendly.

2. Biogel that Effectively Cures Brain Injuries

This latest invention of American scientists is meant to help people with brain injuries, including victims of car crashes and injured soldiers. The injectable biogel will be tested on humans in three years.

3. Drug that Erases Unpeasant Memories

Developed by Swiss scientists, this latest invention proved to be effective on animals and researchers hope to test it on humans. If the results are good, in future people could use the pill to selectively erase bad memories.

4. Technology that Makes 3D Maps Using Digital Photos

The technology was created by engineers from the University of Washington. They developed an algorithm that can recreate entire cities in 3D by simply analyzing images of the location uploaded by users on various photo-sharing websites such as Flickr. With the help of this latest invention, users will have the possibility to take virtual tours around the world. In addition the technology can be widely used in developing video games.

5. New Batteries Made of Paper and Salt

Such environmentally-friendly batteries could be used to power various portable gadgets. Currently engineers are working on improving their efficiency, and namely they try to make it more comparable to the lithium ones. If researchers succeed, these batteries can push aside lithium batteries because their cost of production is much lower.

6. E-nose that Can Identify a Smoker

Australian researchers are the authors of this invention. The e-nose can easily detect a person who smoked. It includes 32 sensors that identify volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the breath of a person if he or she smoked a cigarette. This could prove to be useful for insurers who might use the invention to test people who apply for health or life insurance.

7. Solar Panels that Produce Electricity Without Direct Sunlight

Everyone knows that to produce energy, solar cells need direct sunlight. However, these new solar cells, created by Scientists from Tel Aviv, Israel, can generate electricity from diffused light, meaning they don't need direct sunlight. They have a specialized colored panel that looks like a colored plexi-glass. The glass is made with fluorescent dyes and nanoparticle metals. The new solar panels are not just more efficient than traditional solar cells, they are much less expensive because the need 80 percent less silicon.

8. Device that Allows Visually Impaired to See With Their Tongue

Developed by neuroscientists from Middleton, Wisconsin, this invention can help visually impaired people to see by using their own tongue. The device is called Wicab BrainPort. It gathers information using a small digital camera installed on a pair of glasses that the user wears. The data is transmitted to a "lollipop" electrode array connected to the user's tongue.

9. Spacecraft that Redirects Asteroids from Our Planet

British engineers are the ones who came up with the idea. They designed a "gravity tractor" spacecraft that is meant to divert asteroids that could threaten Earth. Engineers develop their latest invention for a space company located in Stevenage, England. The idea to make such spacecraft appeared after astronomers spotted a scar on Jupiter. They consider that the scar appeared after an asteroid collided with the planet, having the size of Earth.

10. Swimming Robot for Studing Biodiversity and Spotting Pollution

Scientists from Ocean Technologies Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Bath said that the inspiration for their latest invention served the Amazonian knifefish. The robot, dubbed Gymnobot, claims to revolutionize submersible technology. Researchers could use such inventions to analyze the biodiversity in the shallow water as well as identify pollution.
