I had the honor to create the official new skin for it and its great to see and -hear- it in action :)

About SIDizer:

SIDizer is a state-of-art emulation of legendary SID chip in a form of a modern software synthesizer. Using circuit modeling technology nearly all unique features of two versions (6581-8580) of SID chip among their famous flaws are accurately modeled. This emulation focuses on simulating nonlinear character of SID filter and mimicking special 6581 distortion that mainly influence the alternation of filtered signal in a real SID chip. It offers additional envelopes, LFOs , mod matrix and a routable bit-cruncher for adding extra lo-fi sound quality. SIDizer GUI is inspired from HyperSID that offers easy tweaking for all parameters on a single page. It is not only a powerful instrument for creating chip-tune style but it can produce a unique type of analog sound colored with harmonic distortion that is suited for creating bass, lead and drum sounds. Lennard Addink’s Sylenth1 is certainly amongst my favorite VST plugins, but to be honest, for me, this VST would rock with a more modern darker skin but unfortunately there are no skin presets or built in options to edit the skin. To do it, it requires editing the dll file and that goes against the license agreement. I have tried contacting Lennard Addink several times, but I have never got an answer about whether he minds editing the skin or plans on implementing skinning functionality by default in future versions. So hopefully he will bring out an update with an easy way to change skins, and then I will be able to share a fully working version of this one aswell and do some extra finetuning, tweaks and further enhancements.

The main outside knob models, keyboard, and mod wheel are kept original, the rest has been changed (with regards to any editing limitations currently in place, like font color and more).

All parts are custom. The rotary knobs are an edited darker version of the original ones from the ABL (made by Yannick Bonnefoy at beautifulscreen.fr). And ofcourse changed to red led’s.

The 303 sounds come (instead of usually from the AudioRealism ABL2) from Lennar Digital’s Sylenth1 and Sonic Couture’s Devilfish. For those interested in Sylenth1, I am currently making a custom skin for it and will post it soon so be sure to check back or just subscribe to recieve updates when I post at the right of the page ;)
