ALT text or alternative text is meant to provide alternative or surrogate text mainly when the image is not being displayed. As many web designer do mistake in not using it at all. And the other mistake is that giving a wrong description for the image without thinking that what work the image was doing on the page. And this results in bad to worst for the image identity.

Anyone who is well-known with web accessibility knows that images require alternative or ALT text assigned to it.
