So after a month of married life and using my new iPad to show off my photos, I decided to put it to use for a more rewarding and worthy pursuit. Its the perfect reason for reviving my personal blog since I can now blog from anywhere without the need for a free wifi location with power points.

Blogsy is an app I bought from the Apps store at the modest price of $2.99. It had 2 main requirements that I was looking for – the ability to post to a self hosted WordPress blog, and drag and drop functionality for adding images and videos. /ppNot only does Blogsy meet my requirements, it has some surprising touches such as support for HTML coding if you so wanted, and ability to categorize my blog posts as well as text formatting. While it does not support image upload from iPhoto, it allows me to drag and drop images from my Flickr account, Picasa, and from any web page found on google. I have to admit that the most surprising feature was that it supported tagging and embedding of YouTube videos.
I am certainly looking forward to having fun with blogging on Blogsy and to a live and updated blog!

I work a lot with text, (web) page layout, copyediting, technical writing, etc. While I was still on the PC, I had the entire (almost) list of keyboard shortcuts to symbols that are frequently used. Some examples are copyright ©, registered ® and trademark ™.

When I switched to the Mac, all these keyboard shortcuts were lost to me. While I could still access these symbols using the Show Character Palette, enabled from System Preferences » International » Input menu, it did not offer me the convenience that keyboard shortcuts do.

Some research on Google however, found me the shortcuts I needed, including other cool ones. Like the one for Apple logo on the title of this blog. I have listed other keyboard shortcuts that are useful to me, and which I hope you find useful too.
